Woman saved from burning alive
Dolphin Force intervened in time before the woman’s husband could burn her alive. The spokesperson of the Force said that the husband was going to spew petrol on the woman. It turns out it was his attempt at a joint suicide because he was also covered in petrol. They had made their way after getting the report on the helpline by a neighbour. The force raided the house in time and arrested the suspect.
The Force questioned about the details to which the woman replied that the torture was a constant. The husband would abuse drugs and then torture her. This attempt of murder and suicide was prevented because of timely action by neighbors. The police force has registered a case against the husband. The woman’s brother complained to make the case under section 302, a murder charge.

Yum! Brands has appointed Sabir Sami as the CEO KFC Global by making an official announcement yesterday. Succeeding Tony Lowings, Sami will be taking on the new role effective January 1st, 2022. Previously, Sami was serving as the Global Chief Operating Officer (COO) & Asia’s Managing Director, KFC.
Sabir Sami – Tracing the journey
Having completed his MBA from IBA, Karachi (Institute of Business Administration) in 1988, Sami’s journey in the corporate world has been nothing short of stellar. Starting his career as an Assistant Brand Manager, he advanced rapidly – from being a Brand Manager through to a Regional Marketing Director to General Manager at leading brands.
He joined KFC in March 2009 as General Manager for the Canadian market. Four years later, his role progressed when he entered Turkey as Managing Director. Within the span of two years, he was promoted to General Manager, KFC for the Middle East, North Africa, Pakistan & Turkey markets. Soon after, he was made the Managing Director of MENA, Turkey & Asia. These Amazon mini department stores could come with high-tech dressing rooms and Amazon’s own private-label clothing brands. According to a report by the Wall Street Journal, the idea is to revolutionise clothes shopping. The normal irritating factors of trying clothes etc. is going to be challenged by these high-tech dressing rooms.

One of the tech features will be that customers would be able to use a smartphone app to scan QR codes of the clothes they want to try. Then, the associates would be alerted and would gather the items to place them in the fitting rooms. Amazon also has plans to, later on, make this fully automated. Robots will bring you your clothes!

It is also being reported that inside these fitting rooms, you can ask for more clothes using a touchscreen. The screen would also recommend you more clothing based on what you like. Amazon is known for providing a high-tech shopping experience. Previously, it had AR technology that shows you how your hair would look with different hair dyes. There could also be a feature that lets you try clothes virtually!
These mini department stores will reportedly sell Amazon’s own private label brands and clothes from third parties also. In addition to the Amazon Essentials line, its online stores also give access to the most exclusive designers. Think Oscar de la Renta, Altuzarra and La Perla, among many others.

Pakistan Meteorological Department has warned about rains in the upcoming days. Karachi, September 22, 2021 – A Gong Ceremony was held on listing of Air Link Communication Limited which had successfully carried out its Initial Public Offering recently. This was the largest private-sector IPO in the history of Pakistan’s capital market having value of Rs 6.435 billion at strike price. JS Global Capital Limited was the Lead Manager and the Book Runner to the Issue. The company has been listed on Pakistan Stock Exchange (PSX) with effect from September 22, 2021.
The Issue consisted of 90 million ordinary shares which were offered 100% through book building method at a Floor Price of Rs 65/- per share. The bidders were allowed to place bids for 100% of the Issue size. However, the successful bidders were allotted only 75% of the issue size i.e. 67.5 million shares and the remaining 25% i.e. 22.5 million shares were offered to retail investors.
The company received total participation of Rs 10.730 billion against the Issue of Rs 5.850 billion at floor price, thereby being oversubscribed by 1.8x. A large number of investors participated in the book-building process and out of 518 bidders, 388 investors were declared successful.
The retail portion of the IPO also attracted tremendous response. Applications for 25.9 million shares were received against the Issue size of 22.5 million shares. The retail portion of the Issue was thus oversubscribed by 1.15 times. Air Link Communication Limited raised these funds to meet the Working Capital requirements. which would increase its sales volumes.
Speaking about the successful IPO & listing of Air Link Communication Limited, the MD & CEO PSX, Mr. Farrukh H. Khan, stated, “I congratulate Air Link Communication Ltd. and all the stakeholders involved in this IPO for successfully carrying out the largest private sector IPO in Pakistan’s history. I would also like to congratulate JS Global on successfully lead managing this landmark IPO. We are excited to welcome Air Link Communication to PSX. This will allow local as well as foreign investors to get exposure to the fast growing technology & communication sector in Pakistan. Speaking about the IPO and Listing of Air Link Communication Ltd, the CEO of the Company, Mr. Muzzaffar H. PepsiCo has advised a new strategy to address plastic pollution. The food and beverage giant plans to cut virgin plastic by 50 per cent. This includes an entire portfolio of products and increasing the recycled content of plastic packaging to 50 per cent.
As You Sow is a company that promotes environmental and social corporate responsibility through shareholder advocacy, coalition building, and innovation. The company is set to reduce the company’s use of nonrenewable virgin plastic by about 460,000 tons over the next nine years. As a result, a 50 per cent cut in nonrenewable virgin plastic when measured per serving will be observed.
“We are happy with the company’s goal to reduce plastic use by one-fifth,” says Conrad MacKerron, senior vice president of As You Sow.
“However, we have some concern that the timeline for reduction is five years longer than several of its peers have committed to.“

Previously, many companies have agreed to virgin plastic reductions that will be achieved by 2025.
“Pepsi’s announcement on plastic and packaging move the company in the right direction. However, there is much more it will need to do to take effective action on plastic packaging pollution,” Kelly cane, waste program coordinator at As You Sow, says.
PepsiCo And Plastic Pollution
In 2020, PepsiCo ranked as a laggard company with a D+ grade in As You Sow’s opportunity report, which scored 50 companies on plastic pollution. The company’s new commitments do not address some of its lowest scoring areas. These include increasing reusable and refillable packaging as well as financial support for recycling infrastructure to secure recycled material, according to the nonprofit.
PepsiCo announced its plastic reduction targets as part of its broader “strategic end-to-end transformation to drive sustainable long-term value and competitive advantage,” Pep+.

Expo 2020 Dubai, which will kick off on Oct. 1, released its official song titled “This Is Our Time” on Tuesday. The English/Arabic language song is now available on YouTube. The song features Emirati singer Hussain Al-Jassmi, Expo 2020’s ambassador, and US-Lebanese Grammy-nominated singer and songwriter Mayssa Karaa. She is also the artistic director of Expo’s all-female Firdaus Orchestra.
The song is produced by Canadian Grammy Award winner Greg Wells, who was behind the 2019 Special Olympics World Games Abu Dhabi official song Right Where I Am Supposed To Be.
