Pakistani TV channel, Hum TV has produced numerous blockbusters in the past. Humsafar, Man Mayal, Suno Chanda are just a few names out of many. But talk about being a hit in not your country or across the borders but in a country where Urdu is not even their language; in a first world country. Such a thing happened with the channel thanks to the drama Qissa Meherbano Ka.
Qissa Meherbano Ka
The drama, Qissa Meherbano ka airs on Saturday in the UK. It had stayed at the no.2 slot for some time. But this Saturday, it surpassed Utsav Plus’ No.1 slot. The data was obtained by BizAsiaLive. The channel registered a share of 0.15%. Even UTSAV Plus, the European Hindi General Entertainment channel secured 0.13%.
The viewership, to be exact, for the show at 20:00 documented 53,800 viewers. The drama ‘Mata-e-Jaan Hai Tu’ airing at 21:00 recorded 38,100 viewers.
Ahsan Khan starrer Qissa Meherbano ka features Mawra Hocane as his co-lead. While Ahsan has been winning hearts with every project recently, Mawra has conquered the big screen across the borders as well as the education field with her law degree.
Seeing that the drama became a hit in the UK, it doesn’t seem that unexpected considering Ahsan won hearts, not in just Udaari but also Qayamat. We have seen that he can rock as a villain.
Tracing Hum TV’s history, it turns out that the channel has achieved a similar record in the past as well through its Ramadan special show, Suno Chanda. Iqra Aziz and Farhan Saeed’s Romcom surpassed the ratings of Star Plus in the UK.
