The video featured Mahira as Noor and Bilal as Sameer Khan swaying and romancing in each other’s arms making fans impatient to see more of their magical chemistry.

After impatiently waiting for so long, the trailer has now been released.

Mahira compared Noor to Khirad in an Ask Mahira session on Twitter and now we kinda know why. By the looks of the trailer, Mahira and Bilal play two young lovers who face pain, struggle and separation, it seems.

Sameer Khan is a famous actor whose stardom seems to be threatened while Noor is a small town struggling newcomer who eventually becomes a superstar.

Pakistanis have never been happy about paying taxes. A report by Tribune said that only 1.4m taxpayers submitted their annual returns for 2018.

While taxes are a legal requirement, there are many other reasons why paying them should be encouraged. The tax money we pay should be useful for our own welfare as a state, so that provision of education, medical, and other basic facilities can be made possible for the general public.

Budget 2019-20: New Proposals Bear Bad News for Non-Filers

However, after the PTI government rolled out the fiscal budget for 2019-20, it was revealed that taxes on even the most basic necessities increased a lot. From milk to sugar to fuel, prices are just soaring upwards and the public is not too pleased.

Amidst this chaos, the hashtag #BePakistaniPayTaxes has emerged on Twitter, and a live debate on why or why not taxes should be paid can be seen.

Paying taxes will help Pakistan become a self-reliant country, think many.

Even Veena Malik agrees, as she adds that she herself is a tax payer.

Definitely, one of the major ways to contribute to a debt-free country is to pay taxes.

Many support their decision to pay taxes saying that it is our taxes that will help the country prosper and grow economically.

PTI itself made a number of points in favor of paying taxes. One of them states that, when people eligible to pay taxes do not pay them, the lower class of the country suffers.

A PTI voter tweeted his point of view from a business owner’s perspective, saying that in order to be able to pay taxes, businesses must prosper. And naturally, it is difficult for businesses to succeed in an economy where the most basic goods and facilities are heavily taxed.

Another very important point was made by someone, stating that people can be expected to pay taxes after they are employed. In an economy where employment opportunities are decreasing and the market is suffering, you cannot expect the number of tax payers to increase.

A tweet by Asad Umar makes for a good bottom-line on the subject.

It is also important to note, however, that when the government goes against the rules to do favours for its ministers, it discourages the public from paying taxes.

July 10th, 2019: A private bank in Pakistan has declared a popular movie and series streaming platform ‘Netflix’ as un-Islamic.

The news picked up after Netflix user Mohammed Ahmed Tariq reached out to the Shariah-compliant bank when his payments were rejected for the renewal for his subscription.

When he got in touch with the bank, he was informed that the issue was taking place because it falls against the bank’s Shariah policy.

While talking to BBC Urdu, Tariq shared that he had not even come close to think that this would be the reason for the rejection of his payment.

On Friday, during a press conference, Liang Hua shared that Hongmeng OS was developed for IoT devices, and not smartphones. When it comes to phones and handsets, Huawei prefers Android.

iPhone XR Models to be ‘Made in India’

Apple has been looking for alternatives to decrease its reliance on Chinese manufacturing power. In a change of events, India has become the tech titan’s new favorite!

Reportedly, Foxconn’s Bangalore plant will soon start making the Apple-branded A2105 device used in iPhone XR.

For now, the plant is being used to manufacturer low-end iPhones including the 6S, SE and so on. Now, it is highly believed that Apple will also give the green signal for the production of high-end iPhones as well.

The reason behind Apple’s move can also be Trump Administration’s tempory ban on Huawei from conducting business in the US which had caused a tremendous loss to the tech sector.

An unnamed source has shared that iPhone XS could also be manufactured in India in the coming months.

For some time now, Chinese manufacturers have been widely using the Indian market, including Xiaomi, Huawei, and others. This is largely due to excessive import taxes on the higher-end iPhone models.

Apple’s local production means iPhones will become more affordable for the locals and no import taxes or duty will be applied.

This gets us thinking whether a Chinese or foreign-based tech company will consider starting a local plant in Pakistan in the near-future.

On Every Rs.100 Recharge Users Will Receive Rs.88 as Mobile Balance!

Mobile network operators have now abolished the service charges and operational charges on mobile top-ups in Pakistan.

According to a report published by ProPakistani, be it card recharge or amount transfer, the Supreme Court has restored all taxes on mobiles last month in its latest verdict and did not interfere with matters of public revenue and tax collection system.

Users who recharge Rs.100 via card of top-up will receive Rs.88 as their mobile balance. Previously, a user used to receive Rs.72-77. All telecom operators have now started to adopt this new rate.

Furthermore, the report claims that the 10% service/maintenance charges on every Rs. 100 card has now been withdrawn. On the other hand, mobile users will have to pay 12.5% withholding tax and 19.5% FED as it is still applicable on every recharge.

Previously, customers had 10 months of no tax charges, on each rs.100 recharge they received the complete amount.

Schools will be registered only if everything is according to our requirements, and if the school does not meet our required standards, it would be rejected.

Update- 15th July 2019: Recently, a video has been doing all rounds on social media in which an eight-year-old girl, Kushi, can be seen driving a water tanker in Karachi.

It has been said that the minor girl has been driving the tanker to earn money for the treatment of her father who is paralyzed and support her family members.

In the videos, she shares that she is heading to Rasheedabad to fetch water from Sher Shah.

Last week, a press conference was held at Karachi Press Club where the minor girl revealed that her father suffered from a paralysis attack about a year ago. She is the only bread earner for her family now and demanded to let her drive the water tanker.

Kushi shares that she wants to go to school and become an army officer but because of their circumstances, she cannot do so.

The main concern that arose from this situation is if the girl meets an accident of any loss, who will be responsible? Her family? The employer? The authorities? Or everyone?

‘Kaaf Kangana’ will Not be Releasing on Eid-ul-Adha 2019

Khalil Ur Rehman Qamar’s directorial debut Kaaf Kangana was earlier set to release this Eid ul Adha and battle it out at the box office with Superstar, Parey Hut Love and Heer Maan Ja.

However, the film seems to have opted out of the Eid race. In an Instagram post shared by actor Humayun Saeed, the release date for ‘Kaaf Kangana’ has been stated as 25th October 2019.

“A dear friend and also the greatest writer we have today, wishing Khalil sb all the best for his directorial debut Kaaf Kangana. Releasing on 25th October,” read the post.

The news created a lot of confusion and left everyone curious, until the director himself confirmed the delay.

“The film has been delayed as I wanted to release the film internationally along with the domestic release. Due to some issues, there will be a delay in international release. This is why we will be releasing the film in October now,” he told Epk in an exclusive chat.

Khalil Ur Rehman claims that the decision is taken as a move that is most suitable for the industry.

While some fans are disappointed, others do not seem to be affected by the decision much.

Starring Sami Khan, Eeshal Fayyaz and Ayesha Omar in lead roles, Kaaf Kangana is a film focusing on cross-border love. Sami Khan essays the role of a Pakistani-Muslim guy who is in love with a Sikh-Indian girl named Kangana (Eshal Fayyaz). The film also features a dance number by the very talented, Neelum Munir.

The film has been made in collaboration with ISPR and will now release on 25th October. Time will tell if the decision to delay was worth it or not, but for now, let’s see which Eid film wins at the box office.

The clip features a young woman entering a shop that sells fake jewellery and asking the shopkeeper where the real ones are kept. “Real jewellery is kept in seven boxes and locked in seven safes,” the shopkeeper replies.

He also tells her anything that is valuable is “hard to access and commands special respect”.

When another woman enters wearing a full-body veil, the chador, the man stands up straight and bows his head making the first women realize that she has to change the way she dresses in order to be valued.

The video has been produced by the Basij Cyberspace organization. The comparison of women to jewellery has gained negative publicity and triggered a debate on social media.

“I’m a human being. Don’t downgrade us to goods,” read a woman’s reaction who felt rather humiliated.

This is not the first time women have been compared to commodities. Earlier there were degrading adverts all over the Middle East comparing Muslim women to wrapped lollipops.

Pakistani actress Hareem Farooq is all set for her upcoming film Heer Maan Ja that is set to release this Eid ul Adha.

After the trailer of the film was released, she had an ‘Ask Hareem’ session on her official Twitter handle, where she answered a number of interesting questions.

Once again Hareem stars opposite Ali Rehman Khan, making fans curious about the pairing. While many, just love to see them together, others think they could be in a relationship.

When asked if she’s open to working with other actors, Hareem said she surely is.

Eid seems to be every Pakistani filmmaker’s preferred time to showcase their films. This time again, four films – Superstar, Parey Hut Love, Kaaf Kangana and  Heer Maan Ja are set to clash at the box office on Eid ul Adha. Heer Maan Ja starring Hareem Farooq and Ali Rehman Khan released the trailer of their upcoming flick, proving it’s all set to compete against the other three releases.

The trailer features Ali Rehman Khan (Kabir), a successful young man who unwantedly gets involved in the drama that revolves around Heer’s (Hareem Farooq) life. She’s a runaway bride who seeks shelter in his car, due to which they end up being stuck with each other on a roller coaster ride of thrill an adventure.

In a few scenes, Hareem will remind you of Kareena Kapoor’s character from Jab We Met. However, promising a great mix of drama, romance, comedy and action, the film has all the ingredients to make a super hit masala film. Apart from the entire entertainment factor that includes dance, music, humour and fun, the story also tackles with a very important social issue – honour killing.

Heer’s to-be-groom Wajdan (Faizan Shaikh) says that “Aurat mard ki ghulam thi, hai aur hamesha rahe ghi… mein heer ko maarne ja raha hoon.” He is determined to kill her, while she’s determined to escape.

Other than Hareem Farooq and Ali Rehman, the cast includes Aamina Sheikh, Abid Ali, Ali Kazmi, Faizan Sheikh, and many others.

Six years ago, in September 2013, a 7.7 magnitude earthquake shook western Pakistan.

As a result to which, the Arabian and Eurasian tectonic plates collided, launching the buried mud and boulders to the surface and creating an oval-shaped mud island appeared near the port city of Gwadar.

At the time of its appearance, geologists had observed that it would not last long in the face of strong waves and tides. Six years later, it turns out that the geologists were correct.

Here is what a statement by NASA reads:

Zalzala Koh may be out of sight for now, but that does not mean it is completely gone. In 2019, hints of the island persist in Landsat imagery. As recently as June 2019, Landsat observed trails of sediment circulating around the submerged base.

The series of images above shows the island in April and September 2013, November 2016, and April 2019. The Advanced Land Imager (ALI) on EO-1 acquired the September 2013 image; all the others images came from the Operational Land Imager (OLI) on Landsat 8.

Suzuki Commercial Vehicle Prices Decreased!

The federal government of Pakistan had recently revised the Federal Excise Duty (FED) applicated on vehicles. Because of this, many car manufacturers including Suzuki, have revised their prices.

The commercial vehicles with revised prices are Suzuki Bolan Cargo, Mega Carry, and Suzuki Ravi, effective from 9th July 2019.

A circular was dispatched in this regard.

Earlier, on 29th June, the company had issued a notification to aware the official dealers about the increase in vehicle prices due to the devaluation of the Rupee against the dollar and FED charges.

The following are the revised prices for Suzuki Pakistan:

  • Suzuki Ravi is now at Rs. 941,000 from Rs. 965,000
  • Suzuki Bolan Cargo’s is now at Rs. 990,000 from Rs. 1,015,000
  • Suzuki Mega Carry is now Rs. 1,299,000 and was previously at Rs. 1,364,000
