Emirates Unveils Its First-Ever Full Aircraft Livery To Promote Expo 2020 Dubai

Expo 2020 Dubai has Emirates as its premier partner for the event. For the event’s promotion, you can get a free one-day pass should you choose to travel with Emirates to Dubai. In another major promotion technique, they have revealed the first-ever full aircraft livery for Expo 2020 Dubai.

In this attempt, Emirates has employed their aircraft A380. As the aircraft goes around the world, it will be able to promote the event on a global scale according to the event’s standards.

First-Ever Aircraft Livery

Now, having a livery on the aircraft is not a new phenomenon for Emirates. In the past few years, they have been known to have 50 different liveries on 100 aircraft. However, almost every time, the livery was a decal, a transferrable sticker.

This time, they have gone two steps ahead; they have converted the entire aircraft exterior to promote Expo 2020 Dubai and they have done so not through decals but actual paint. The special aircraft is different for various reasons. It used paint for livery and not a sticker. It diverges from its usual simple colors like white and golden. And it strayed away greatly from its usual color spectrum. Using bright colours all over with a dominant blue, the aircraft stands distinctly from the rest of the aircraft collection.

Features of the livery

On both sides of the aircraft fuselage, you will find the message, ‘Dubai Expo’ and ‘Be Part of the Magic’. Moreover, on the engine cowls, you will find ‘Expo’ and Dubai’ on the one side of the aircraft, and the dates – Oct 2021 and Mar 2022 – on the engine cowls of another side. While the Emirates logo is not as visible on this aircraft, you will find its signature to be visible indeed. Near, the head of the aircraft, you can see the traces of the airline’s most recent campaign as a decal.

The campaign had a brave stuntwoman dressed as an Emirates’ air hostess. She was standing at the top of Burj Khalifa holding a placard. Using that imagery, the airline painted the picture on the aircraft, and the board read, “See you there” and “Dubai Expo Oct 2021- Mar 2022”.

The aircraft will stay like this until the end of the event.

Emirates does it all in-house

An interesting fact revealed was that the livery was entirely designed, painted, and installed by the airline’s in-house team. In fact, the stencils needed for the job were also printed and cut by the team.

The project was completed in 16 days and will go around promoting the event from today, September 29th as the flight takes off for Los Angeles.

With Covid-19, since Expo couldn’t take place this year, the transformation was quick and an online event took place by the name of Startup Championship.

Super Startup Competition is an extraordinary example of an innovative teaching method that the Entrepreneurial Teaching and Training Program (ETTP) is promoting under the umbrella of CMACED. Dr. Sumaira Rehman, Rector Superior University has brought the entrepreneurial revolution to Pakistan and she believes that the greatest leader is not necessarily the one who does the greatest things by himself but the one who makes others do great things.

Modern entrepreneurship is far more than just starting a business, it is about transforming the world by solving big problems and changing mindsets. The same transformation is being brought from the platform of Superior University.

Super Startup Championship encourages the students to prepare their prototypes (Animated/Cardboard) for the proposed business/startup ideas in addition to professional showcasing of their respective idea. In the first phase, there were more than 200+ startup teams and after the Initial Screening round, 36 startups were shortlisted. These 36 shortlisted startups were intently evaluated and 7 startups won the championship.

ETTP organized a prize distribution ceremony for the outstanding winning projects. The championship once again bridged the gap between academia and industry where students exhibited their startups and venerated business gurus evaluated, shortlisted and judged. Both the students and coaches were rewarded. There were up to 80 venerated coaches in the competition and Mr. Hamayoun Khan won the accolade of The Best Coach. There were 14 Departments and 10 Faculties i.e Management Sciences, Aviation management, Mass Communication, Architecture, Electrical Engineering, Aviation Technology, Avionics Engineering, CS&IT, Allied Health Sciences, Pharmacy participated in it.

It is believed that Superior University has empowered the youth with an entrepreneurial mindset, which is the source of positive energy and perseverance that this world needs more today.

While it’s hard to avoid the occasional bout of insomnia, indulgence in salty snacks, or bawl-your-eyes-out movies — all of which can leave your eyes looking swollen and tired. Here are a few tips which can help you get brighter and firmer eyes.

1. Tea Bags

Tea is known for an ingredient which is known as Tannin. These can reduce the inflammation under the eye while withdrawing the fluid. However, Chamomile is your best bet while choosing the tea, thanks to the herb’s soothing properties. Green tea is also a great option, as caffeine can help minimize the look of puffy eyes.

Steep two teabags of your choice in boiling water, then squeeze out the extra moisture and stick them in the fridge for 20 minutes or so. When they’re ready, put them on your closed eyes for 15 minutes to a half-hour.

2. Cold-Spoon

Using cold spoons on under-eye areas can do wonders if you are in a rush or need to attend an event. Run a couple of metal spoons under the cold tap for a couple of minutes or out in the freezer for a few minutes. Then place the concave side to the eye. You should see the puffiness going down immediately. However, make sure the spoons are not frozen cold, leading to microcapillary tears in the area.

3. Hydrogel Patches

Eye patches are another great option if you don’t want to hold spoons to your eyes. The patches are filled with rich ingredients, which can help make the under-eye area brighter while reducing discoloration and puffiness.

4. Hydration

Hydration is the key when it comes to combating a lot of body issues. Since water makes the most of our body weight, it may not be surprising that dehydration can contribute to under-eye bags. Upping your water intake will help reduce the puffiness under your eyes.

5. Massage To Drain

Massaging your face can help with lymphatic drainage, which in turn can combat the puffy look. The under-eye area is one area on the body where our natural drainage system (lymphatic system) for excess fluid is not the best. In a recent development, Finance Minister Shaukat Tarin has come out with a plan to start banking services along with the collaboration of the Pakistan Post. He further suggested that this will be a joint venture with established Pakistani banks. The modalities will be finalized and discussed with the minister for communications, said Shaukat Tarin.

Pakistan Post has branched out with over 14,000 branches countrywide. With its nationwide outreach, the start of banking services by PPOD could help raise the national savings rate. It is established that the national savings rate is meager as compared to the regional countries. This is since scheduled banks cater to only 33% of the population. With this joint venture, there will be a rise in the national savings rate, said Shaukat Tarin.

Pakistan Post’s Services

Pakistan Post’s services include Savings Bank and Postal Life Insurance, military pensions, and more. Since Pakistan post works under the department of the Ministry of Communications, it serves as the main house for various tasks, including Federal and provincial governments.

Pakistan Post also performs agency functions on behalf of other divisions, provincial governments, agency alliances/partnerships with corporate entities under the government’s regulatory regime such as the State Bank of Pakistan (SBP), SECP, etc.

They will be further expanding their services per the restructuring of the organization.

Previously Life insurance was transferred to the newly created Postal Life Insurance Company under the regulatory framework of the Securities and Exchange Commission of Pakistan. At the same time, the function of the Savings Bank was transferred to the Central Directorate of National Savings.

Though trusting him, he finds that the friend may not be as sincere as he seems. He becomes an enemy midway but then sacrifices himself in the game and dies. Traumatized after what happened to his friend and the other 455 (or rather, 454) people, the protagonist accepts the prize money but refused to celebrate it. At the end of the season, he does choose to use the money, and the conviction he does it with fuels the chances of a season 2.

Privacy can be a major concern in many areas of business and operation. If the clients don’t get the amount of privacy they are promised, they just might flare up and leave. It becomes a legal court matter when the privacy rights of a person are violated. We all remember the whistleblower, Edward Snowden, because of whom we came to know about the workings of the NSA. One does not even feel safe when they know they are being watched. It just cycles back to the era set in George Orwell’s ‘1984’. So, why has the Avari hotel chain released a statement?

It seems that the statement they released has been done to clarify something. The hotel chain is a family that they refer to themselves as. There had been a lot of rumours circulating recently that the hotel chain had hidden CCTVs set up in their rooms where customers stayed. Of course, such a privacy concern can cause destruction and havoc in the industry. The chain is long and old and it would not do well to have such rumours become a reality.

The Avari Statement

According to the statement released, it clarified that there are no surveillance cameras present in any of the rooms. The staff and owners of the hotel have no part in the placement of cameras in rooms because it is illegal. It can be a different story if a customer decides to commit such an act but the hotel owners are not supporters of this. They have made it quite clear that they are against the notion of invading privacy.

The statement comes as a relief too as the rumours had begun to escalate. Just a while back, a local hotel was shut down by the authorities because they had CCTVs set up in their rooms. If this case was with Avari, it would have led to a bigger, legal court case. They would have had a plethora of regulations and sanctions rained down on them. Who knows, they may even have closed down!

Privacy Invasion

Of course, this does make one think as to what caused the rumours in the first place. Apparently, it came to light that a political personality had been recorded in one of the Avari hotels on a camera placed in the room. It was also against this that the hotel released the statement, saying their owners and staff had nothing to do with the placement. If it was done, it was done by an outside party and was going to be investigated.

Avari hotel believes in the satisfaction of customers and putting their needs above all. They believe that customers have a right to feel safe in the environment and not feel as if they have an eye on their shoulder. Privacy is a major concern in the real world and the virtual one. Anonymity can make people fearless so you never know what one might do.

We hope that the statement manages to extinguish any flames that have been fanned due to the rumours.

According to sources, Transworld has been experiencing problems for the past two days.By now, customers have issued a plethora of complaints. Unfortunately, most of them left unanswered. Customers are often left waiting hoping someone would listen to their complaints. What’s worse is that their customer service is of no help either. Many customers were seen claiming that customer service is not able to even comprehend what the problem is.

Apart from this, there has been another major complaint; the false hope. Transworld claimed that the issue will be rectified in 24 hours, yet nothing happened. The customers were just left making calls to the company, hoping someone will come and fix them.

In today’s time, when almost everyone heavily relies on internet, this is a major problem. Imagine missing out on important meetings just because the internet went down.

Acknowledging our heroes is the least we can do because of whom we sleep peacefully in our houses. We usually do so for our martyrs who sacrifice themselves in the line of duty. While their sacrifice is important and needs to be remembered, those who return victorious are equally commendable. Every time returning as a ghazi, the oldest veteran of the Pakistan army, Sultan Mengal passed away at the age of 103.

DG ISPR bids farewell

Paying tribute to the efforts that he made for the Pakistan army, Director-General Inter-Services Public Relations (DG ISPR) tweeted about the passing away. In the tweet, it was said that Lieutenant Colonel Mengal was a keen soldier. Further, it said, he covered Pakistan’s terrain with the enthusiasm of an adventurist. He climbed, walked, sailed, skied, and rowed across the terrain on numerous expeditions.

Sultan Mengal

Sultan Mohammed Khan Mengal, commonly known as Sultan Mengal joined the British Indian Army in 1941. From 1942, he was commissioned in the 5th Baloch regiment.

After the independence in 1947, he joined Pak Army. Consequently, Lt Col retired from the Pak Army in 1967, as the instructor at Infantry School Quetta.

Living for 103 years, he died in Quetta on Sunday. Living up to this age, he gained the title of the oldest veteran in the Pakistan army. In fact, DG ISPR announced this in their tweet as well.

How Can Differently Abled Use Android?

Android’s latest feature allows people with disabilities to use their phones using a raised eyebrow or smile. Hands are no longer needed. Android has two new tools that put machine learning and front-facing cameras on smartphones to work using other methods. For instance, they work by detecting face and eye movements.

As a result, users can scan their phone screen and do things by smiling, raising eyebrows, opening their mouth, or looking to the left, right or up. Isn’t it commendable?

More Information on The Breakthrough

Google has said that to make Android more accessible, the system has been made more sensitive to facial movements. This change has been made because The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention estimates that 61 million adults in the United States live with disabilities. However, technology tends to overlook them.

While neuro-typical and typically abled can make voice commands or use their hands, people with severe motor and speech disabilities can not.

More New Changes

Two major new changes have been made as a result. One of them is called “Camera Switches” in which people can use their faces instead of swipes and taps to use their phones. The other change is called Project Activate. That is a new Android app in which people can use gestures to trigger an action! These changes have made it possible for people to use eye movements and facial gestures to navigate their phones without needing hands or voice.

Currently, the app is available in Australia, Britain, Canada and the United States at the Google Play shop.

Becoming Accessible and Inclusive

As of late, tech giants like Apple, Google and Microsoft are especially working to become more inclusive. These changes have brought a huge change: people with disabilities are made to unlearn the idea that they are not the same as others. Or, that their life can not be the same as others.
