Would You Try This Bizarre 'Rasgulla Chaat' With Chutney?

Who thought we could see a day like this? Not me and certainly not you. However, it really seems like the world is near its end, and people are trying to make the most of their time and creativity or maybe looking for ways to get famous. After all, who wouldn’t like a little spotlight and growth in their business when a flock of people turns in to try their product. But is that all it takes to come up with a bizarre idea or let us rephrase a bizarre food product? Someone’s creativity juices were really flowing when they came up with this recipe. Let us introduce you to Rasgulla Chaat. 

Sorry for the bombshell. We tried to make it sound as interesting as we could.

Rasgulla Chaat 

Somewhere in India, a Twitter user discovered the atrocity being done to our favorite sweet. Rasgulla, known for its sweet and rich taste, is being taken advantage of in such a rude way. Not to mention the horror it has brought to all the dessert lovers every time they pick their favorite colored Rasgulla from the box. The Twitter user had the same feeling when they shared the video on social media with a big caption; We are doomed. Which we believe is true.

Let’s take a look at the video.

At first glance, it seems like the vendor knows what he is doing. However, as soon as he starts adding the ingredients, the recipe seems totally chaotic. First, he squeezes a Rasgulla to drain the sugar syrup and places them in a bowl. He next starts adding tamarind chutney over it along with yogurt. He puts some almonds, cashews, and raisins and a spoon of the tamarind chutney on it along with some spices. At this point, we fail to understand whether this is chaat, Dahi Baray, or just a non-homogenous mixture of different things.

A professor also comes on the screen talking about ishq, the superlative degree of love. Therefore, one can imagine Azlan (Azaan Sami) and his love for Shenaya and what extent he can go to if Shenaya is threatened (or, you know, killed). And the journey with God as an active participant as he learns to love again, with the help of Azka.

While the story may seem great, what we (and literally everyone on the internet) can not get over off is Sajal and Yuman’s incredible aura they breathe into the characters.

Twitter is literally overflowing with people crushing over Sajal. She is living evidence of someone who can combine talent with beauty. Her role as a reporter giving voice to the underprivileged and victims of society adds even more weight to the love fans shower over her. While we expected this, Sajal has the ability to woo us every time.

Yumna’s fiery eyes were totally the highlight. You know how we defined Mehreen and Mashal as powerful characters who knew what they wanted? Azka and Shanaya do not even come close to that. Hum Kahan kay Sachay Thay is still your usual two girls drama with one as an antagonist. But Ishq e Laa is so much more.

In Ishq e Laa, you have two girls who are positive people. Shanaya wants to fight for others. Azka is ready to fight for herself. The fire in both their eyes is something one cannot match. Of course, we suspect Shanaya to die but should the story be weaved in a way that they team up, it will be a force to be reckoned with.

Surgeons Implant A Pig Kidney In Human For The First Time Ever

The reason why the terrible business of organ trafficking works so much is that there is a lack of organs in the world when it comes to transplants. An individual can require one for several reasons but seldom do they find a transplant candidate. In these cases, there have been deaths also. Now doctors in the United States have just come up with a solution. Are you sure you’ll be able to handle it? Let’s find out.

No Organ No Problem— Get A Pig

In New York recently doctors used a pig’s kidney as a transplanted organ in a human. These surgeons performed this for the first time, with the consent of the patient. Before this, there has been no pairing of human and animal organs. You must be wondering— did it even work?

Unfortunately and fortunately, yes it did! It started working immediately.

How Did It Happen?

This kidney transplant took place in NYU Langone Health hospital. The surgeons attached the kidney to the blood vessels in the leg of a brain-dead patient on a ventilator. From there they observed that the organ began working “almost immediately.”

As per reports, the organ was observed for two days. Often in such surgeries, there is a chance that the body rejects the new organ. However, it appears human bodies are more susceptible to pig kidneys than we’d imagined. Keep in mind, the kidney wasn’t fully implanted. The surgeons made a connection to the patient’s circulatory system to observe the result.

The Lead Doctor’s Experience

The whole procedure was undertaken by Dr. Robert Montgomery, the director of the NYU Langone Transplant Institute. Being the lead doctor, there was a lot of pressure on him. However, success was written in the stars. Montgomery stated that, “successfully connecting the pig organ to the human blood vessels is a promising sign that it will work in a transplant scenario.”

What makes this experience even more surprising was how soon it started to work. According to Montgomery, organs from dead donors take weeks or days to start working. This pig kidney, however, started working immediately.

Will It Work Everywhere?

As Montgomery said, this might change the transplant experience for many. However, will this strategy of implanting pig’s body parts work everywhere? We doubt it. Muslims especially will have a hard time allowing a pig’s body part to be implanted in them. What do you think?

Those who did not know about them got to know when movies started rolling in. Hence, when their installments, be it comic, animated movies, or feature film, establish their stance on a controversial matter, it is bound to lead to broken hearts. DC Comics did something similar recently.

Matter of Kashmir

The age old issue that never got resolved since 1947 was that of Kashmir. Promised to be a part of Kashmir as per the referendum and the evident Muslim majority, the ruler did not follow through and made side deals with the Indians. As a result, the whole of Kashmir became disputed territory. Some of Kashmir is occupied by India and some of it comes under Pakistan. However, unlike India, Pakistan always regards it as AJK (Azaad Jammu and Kashmir); territory with independent governing body. As a result, India is able to exert unsolicited power over Kashmiris.

DC Comics’ take

While not many international forums have addressed the sufferings of Kashmiris, DC Comics did through their animated movie, Injustice. A clip from the movie went viral where Superman calls Kashmir a disputed territory. Just this label was enough to express the DC universe’s stance on the matter. It sided with Kashmir and labeled anyone exercising rmed control on the rgion to be in the wrong.

Indian Twitter on Rampage

Indian fans were not too happy with it.

Ever since the clip made it to Twitter, India began with its AntiIndiaSuperman hashtag. They claimed that the movie was spreading falsehood about the country.

Some even said that DC should stop engaing in ‘private affairs’ of India. This is another evidence of how India feels ownership over Kashmir even though it did not choose the country.

They were also quick to cast extreme claims, top of which being DC comics funded by ISI and Taliban.

Safe to say, sentimenst of Indian extremists who are pro Kashmir-massacre were disappointed and have stated that they might not watcg any other DC movie.

Pakistanis seem to be having the time of their lives however. They are happy that the issue has been finally taken up on a platform that is seen and talked about all around the world.

They clearly stand with DC Comics as India rallies to boycott.

The launch of Mobile Center is part of Ufone’s long-term ambition of delivering greater ease and enablement to its customers through constant innovation and optimization of its digital products and services. The company has continuously worked to simplify its payments mechanism by introducing multiple digital channels, in addition to a countrywide top-up retailer network.

Ufone customers will be able to purchase call and data bundles within Facebook Mobile Center with just a few clicks. They can also opt for U-Advance loan and purchase Airtime. To get started, customers can log in to their Facebook accounts through their browser or mobile app and tap or click on “Buy Data”. Next, they will be offered multiple data packages, where they can either purchase bundles or get a  U-Advance loan. Finally, they will need to click ‘Confirm’ to complete the transaction.

Facebook Mobile Center will open up an additional channel for Ufone customers and further simplify the purchasing process.

Ali Azmat In Hot Waters For Disrespecting Madam Noor Jehan

Ali Azmat may be one of the biggest and most famous music personalities in Pakistan. But does that give him the right to disrespect another much bigger, more legendary music personality especially posthumously? The rockstar has just taken a low-level dig at Madam Noor Jehan and well… netizens aren’t in a forgiving mood.

What Did He Say?

Azmat was being interviewed for a podcast it seems. Three men together— that’s already a red flag but we gave them the benefit of the doubt. Ali Azmat was reminiscing about his childhood especially of the time they welcomed “cultural invasion”. In doing so, he shared that Pakistan wasn’t doing much culturally hence, a gap was created that was fulfilled by foreign influences.

The only thing going on in Pakistan, according to Azmat, was Madam Noor Jehan on MTV channel. He goes on to describe her singing in a saree, “wadde wadde bunde” and exaggerated make-up and said, he and his friends were annoyed by that! He called her mayi and that’s problematic for a whole different reason. A classist insult.

Fat-shaming A Legend?

However, what shows that Ali Azmat really has the misogynistic guts of a stereotypical rockstar was when he called Noor Jehan a “kofta”. One of the hosts also tried to interject respectfully but he quickly covered it up saying “I was talking about my childhood.” Another man, the second host we presume, encouraged Azmat. Apparently, “andar ki batein” were being expressed.

Just Plain Misogyny or Disrespect?

Ali Azmat is a voice in his own right but does he get to keep that stature by being this problematic? We’ll let you answer that. It was easier for him to trash Madam Noor Jehan because first of all, she was a woman. He’s invalidating her talent and her charisma which had the world wrapped around her finger. Is the entire country senselessly still her fan? If he is not fond of her music, the least he could do was share it respectfully.

This is even more problematic because he’s trashing a woman posthumously. She’s left behind a legacy and that deserves some respect. She was one of the pioneers of Pakistan’s music industry, the same industry that benefits him.

Pakistan Emerges As The Fourth Most Expensive Country In The World

The Economist, an international publication, has recently released the list of most expensive countries. According to that, Pakistan stands at number fourth on the list of 43 countries. The list has been compiled looking at the trajectory of inflation. It is because of this that Argentina ranks as the most expensive country, Pakistan as fourth, and India as sixteenth.

Global Inflation Rates

The inflation rate in Pakistan is currently calculated at 9%. The rates of the top most expensive country and the second is significant; Argentina stands at 51.4% inflation rate while Turkey the second most expensive is at 19.6%. Brazil is at number 3 with 10.2% inflation. Considering the living standard Japan is able to give its citizens, the inflation rate being -0.4%, it is indeed noteworthy.

Pakistan Bureau Statistics (PBS) calculated an 8.4% inflation rate for the month of August in the data they released in October. It has now risen to 9% even though the government set the target for the ongoing fiscal year 2021-2022 at 8.5%. The year-on-year inflation might remain in double digits though.

According to the data by PBS, the inflation rate had increased for both urban and rural areas. In September, inflation was recorded at 9.1% for urban areas and 8.8% for rural. Specific to food, the inflation in urban areas rose to 10.8%. The food inflation in rural areas remained unchanged from the previous month.

Meanwhile, the non-food inflation was marked at 8.1% in urban areas and 8.5% in rural areas. This was a significant increase from September 2020 where the rates were 5% and 7.2% respectively. Moreover, the prices for clothing and footwear increased by 9.19% on average. And for transportation, the increase was by 9.11%. The electricity fare has also increased in the month of September, the surge is reported to be at 11.4%.

Fourth most expensive country but…

All these factors considered, the average inflation for the period July to September is recorded to be 8.58%. Given the goal of maintaining an 8.5%, one can say that the government is on track even if Pakistan is the fourth most expensive country.

This comes as quite a shock because not even three months ago, the stats released by  GoBankingRatesCompany stated Pakistan may just be the cheapest country to live in. The cost of living index for Pakistan was calculated at 18.58. The second country on the list, Afghanistan was at 24.51. It was followed by India with the index being 25.14. On the same scale, the most expensive countries to live in were: the Cayman Islands at 141.64, Bermuda at 138.22, Switzerland at 122.67, and Norway at 104.49.

Speaking at the event, H.E Manuel Durán Giménez-Rico, Spanish Ambassador to Pakistan said, “It is insightful to see how the history of Spain has been depicted. Oppo is a brand that has one of the largest smartphone range out there. You can have any form of budget and still be able to buy a phone from them. They started off as quite an underdog and have now risen to a rank of a titan. If we take a look at their development, a lot of famous brands come from Oppo. Now known ones like Realme and OnePlus have all been established through that brand. It reminds one of how Volkswagen owns so many vehicle brands.

Now, after much success and years of work, Oppo might be working on something entirely new. According to sources, they are set to develop their own silicon chips to power their flagship phones. This is something that sounds interesting and can boost the company even higher. According to two people, who spoke to the newspaper, said that Oppo intends to do this in 2023 or 2024.

This shows that Oppo is learning to be more and more self-dependent. Till now, they had used SoC designed by Qualcomm and Mediatek as many of the Chinese brands. However, earlier this week, Google revealed the Pixel 6 and Pixel 6 pro. Those phones are now going to be powered by an SoC by the name of ‘Tensor’. Similarly, Apple iPhones are powered by the M1 chip.

Does this mean that Oppo is also following suit by moving to its own SoC design? It could certainly increase the value of the phones and keep them running for longer periods of time. Almost every brand we see is manufacturing its own SoCs. Huawei would have been among the first to do this, had it not been decimated under US sanctions.

Bad News For Qualcomm

If this news really is as true as they are saying, it spells trouble for Qualcomm. The company is going to lose one of its biggest consumers. Let us not forget that realme, vivo, and OnePlus also have their shares with Oppo. So, if the company decides to extend the SoC to these brands, Qualcomm will face reductions from that end too.

Noor Mukadam, the 27-year-old murder victim who got ruthlessly beheaded in July, has not gotten justice yet. Even now, after being held in physical and judicial remand for months, her suspect has not been found guilty. To ensure that the legal system does not fall victim to the rich, Noor Mukadam’s family is out in the streets day after day. They keep reminding the public and the authorities of the heart-shattering incident.

Shaukat Mukadam, the ex-ambassador and the father of Noor was making statements right after the murder made the news. However, the mother had stayed silent. The shock must have been too much for her. In the meantime, Noor’s sister also gained the courage to speak up about Noor informing people of the kind of person the victim was.

Now, that the court has finally indicted the suspects, the fight has finally begun. As is common knowledge, the indictment is not the guilty charge, it is the beginning of a trial; clarifying what the suspects will be punished for or would be defending against. Hence, it is expected that the family and the loved ones of Noor Mukadam would be out on the streets because as unfortunate it is, most of us do not completely trust the judicial system.

In such a protest, the public finally got to see Noor’s mother. As she held a placard, the victim’s mother gave a heart-wrenching statement. She started off with a request to the authorities of ensuring justice is served. A few moments in, she moved towards discussing what her daughter meant to her, and how their relationship had been. Her wails were devastating as she told the reporter how even now, they would look at the corridors and room expecting Noor to just walk out of one of them.

She shared how since Noor was the youngest, she was adored by everyone in the family which is why the incident had made everyone, Noor’s elder sister, elder brother, everyone very quiet.
