If you were a fan of Hum Kahan Kay Sachay Thay, you would have also got to know the controversies that surrounded the show. Mahira Khan’s show that initially looked like it would capture the audience, did so but for the wrong reasons. Every episode had something problematic lurking in the corner and sometimes right on the face that people were forced to speak up.

Haphazard developments

Sadly though, after being cornered, the drama haphazardly changed directions. As a result, the story got really off. Usman Mukhtar’s portrayal of Aswad was on point and Mashal’s (Kubra Khan) evil hallucinations would scare you but the show overall failed to loop me in. And trust me, it was not because of the domestic violence. As someone who had read the novel, I understand, that violence was the integral part of the story.

Anyway, as the drama nears the end, we wanted to speculate how the creators will wrap it up. This is why, we have done some brainstorming and have brought to you, the most plausible speculations. Sit back and enjoy with some popcorn.

Speculating Hum Kahan Kay Sachay Thay

In the most recent episode, Mehreen has asked Aswad for a divorce. This never happened in the novel but the creators weaved it in to show a strong character.

Good try on keeping up with the changing times, but bad character development.

We also know that Aswad has finally realized, Mehreen was innocent. But the trailer shows that he wants to talk to Mehreen before they make the divorce decision. In line with keeping the audience happy, Aswad is probably going to divorce Mehreen because she deserves so much better.

Once the divorce is made final, Aswad will also put in active contributions to clearing misunderstandings between Saffan and Mehreen, the former will be found to not have gotten married because he was so much in love still. They will say that he just put an act to hurt Mehreen because he was hurt too.

Meanwhile, Mashal’s mom who had always hated Mehreen would go crazy; again, no character development. And Mashal’s dad would suddenly apologise to Mehreen after 20 episodes of torture.

Refusing to write ‘Merry Christmas’ on cakes is a new trend in the making and following the footsteps of Delizia, next in line is Auntie Munaver’s bakery who straight up refused to write Merry Christmas on a cake.

Who Is Aunty Munaver?

Auntie Munaver’s Food & Dessert are quite famous in Pakistan especially in Karachi and they also send their products to UAE and Saudi Arabia. Their cakes and other stuff are really yummy and the ingredients are always fresh. Prices are on the high side, but they don’t compromise on quality.

Even though everything Auntie Munaver touches turns to gold (and streams of saliva in your mouth), the 3-milk cake is her crown jewel. The three milk chocolate cake by Auntie Munaver is the stuff of legends now, the centerpiece to every birthday party.

What Actually Happened?

A user posted a complaint on Karachi’s biggest food group after the staff of Auntie Munaver’s refused to write the greeting ‘Merry Christmas’ on the cake. Furthermore, they insisted the customer reach out to the officials of the bakery.

However, this was not on a single account. The bakery insists on refusing the different customer’s request in lieu of accomodating them. Another customer shared their experience with the bakery and needless to say that Auntie Munaver’s bakery might loose loyal customers for good.

One of the giants amongst search engines, Google, occasionally pays tribute to legends and icons on important dates. They do so through their famous doodles. Today, on 24th December, they have chosen to do the same for the legendary comedian of Pakistan, Moin Akhtar. The day marks his birthday and to reminisce the legend who passed away some time ago, Google gives a fitting memorial.

The comedian passed away on April 22nd, 2011 due to a heart attack. It was less of a funeral and more of a flood of people as mourners poured in to bid him a final farewell. This happened thanks to more than four decades of incredible service, making people laugh.

The most loved of his performance was in a project with his dear friend, Anwar Maqsood. Loose Talk had multiple episodes and in each episode, Moin Akhtar donned on a new character. The clips from that show go viral even now as meme-makers use them to give a comic context to the ongoing situations.

Google Doodle

Even in the doodle, you can see that Google made sure to include that aspect of Moin Akhtar. To celebrate him, the primary artwork of the personality is surrounded by televisions featuring his numerous characters.

Some time ago, Yasir Hussain also attempted to pay tribute in his own way. He restarted Loose Talk with Anwar Maqsood. However, the die-hard fans of Moin Akhtar could still not forget the legend and found it hard to accept the show. The new version eventually faded in the background. Of course, one cannot deny Anwar Maqsood was still fabulous in it.

Marketing campaigns are always tricky to pull off but when executed right, they keep the audience hooked that any time viewers catch a familiar scene, they are forced to sit down and watch it all over again. Hence, as the year 2021 wraps up, we decided to compile a list of the best marketing campaigns we have come across this year.

Have a seat because it is not just a compilation, we are also going to be reminiscing about them; they were just that good.

1. Sultan cooking oil

The TVC shows a child who had not been on his best behavior at school. Upon returning, he gets a scolding. But high on adrenaline and kid being kids, he ends up misbehaving with his mother as well. Some tough love is shown in the ad where the mother gives him the silent treatment. The child realises his mistake and everything comes to an end but its just a really good ad that gives you goosebumps.

2. Tapal Danedar

Tapal Danedar shows a cute interaction of a newly married couple it The TVC cast Sheheryar Munawar and Yumna Zaidi. The husband seems fed up with the monotonous dishes which leads to some bickering. However, eventually, they make up because, at the end of the day, love solves most problems, doesn’t it?

3. Pepsi – Why Not Meri Jaan

While nostalgia and storytelling are indeed great, Pepsi brings a hip song to promote their new tagline for the product, Why not meri jaan?

If you are feeling down, it will surely give you quite the boost.

4. Airlift Express

Airlift Express’ ad featuring Ayeza Khan and Danish Taimoor was by far the best ad of 2021. There is no debate there. The real-life couple portrays incredibly an ordinary Pakistani couple’s married life with a touch of comedy of course.

5. Tapal Family Mixture

Shabbir Jan and strength, it seems, have become synonymous. After Amreli Steels, another ad shows Shabiir Jan with the theme of strength but in a slightly different way and it makes you shed a tear too, if you are an emotional person that is.

6. Sabroso

The ad of Sabroso features Sarwat Gilani and, well, you can say we are biased for an ordinary married husband and wife sustaining the love in the marital relationship, but what can we say if our actors are that good.

The harassment cases continue to rise and become even more absurd. Recently, a senior officer of the parliament has come under fire for being a harasser and has been punished as well. Here’s why the senate officer got suspended and why it’s a big deal:

What Happened?

The Chairman of Senate, Sadiq Sanjrani suspended a senior officer of the parliament, yesterday. The cause of suspension was allegedly harassing a woman in Islamabad. The suspended and guilty officer has been identified by the media as Rana Azhar.

Azhar is an 18th-grade officer and is also associated with the legislative branch of the upper house of the parliament. These details show that the suspect in question is an officer of high regard, educated of course, and also powerful. It reflects how men in power continue to abuse with shamelessness. The woman shared that she came to use an ATM and Rana Azhar started making a video of her. When she confronted him he made a run for it. The video clearly shows his face and clothes from the day.

What Action Has Been Taken Against Him?

The chairman of the Senate has ordered an inquiry into the matter. The inquiry happened a day after a video of Rana Azhar harassing a woman went viral on social media. The power of social media has once again saved the day and the woman who was harassed in broad daylight has been heard.

In addition to that, the police have also registered an FIR against Rana Azhar.

Building Confidence Where It Matters

Rana Azhar was only confronted by the law, police, and repercussions because this woman was brave enough to speak out. Moreover, a passerby must have made a video of the incident which highlights how obviously Rana Azhar must be making the woman uncomfortable. In such instances, it is always better to intervene rather than film the incident, however, video evidence is a powerful tool indeed.

Law requires proof. As problematic as the reasoning may be, the video acts as proof and also cemented the woman’s words and complaints. This is important because it shows if women’s confidence is built and they are encouraged to report such instances, change can be initiated. Adidas Jumps Into The Metaverse With Its NFT Line

‘Into The Metaverse’, Adidas’ new lineup is about the brand following its rival into the virtual world now; as the name also says. While Nike had purchased an NFT company, Adidas on the other hand has bought NFT collectibles made in collaboration with Bored Ape Yacht Club.

The NFT line went live on 17th December. The products can be bought in exchange for Ethereum, one of the cryptocurrencies. The trade will be an interesting one for the consumers. Once they buy the NFTs, they will receive digital and physical items. The digital items will be used in The Sandbox platform as well as a few other platforms.

And matching physical wearable will be sent to the buyers in 2022. So, now, when the customers enter the digital realm and use the digital goods, they can choose to wear matching fits in this side of the realm as well. The physical items are said to include a tracksuit, a hoodie, and an orange beanie, the signature product of gmoney.

The statement by the company

The vice president of Adidas Originals marketing and communications Erika Wykes-Sneyd commented on the move. Erika said, “As part of our ambition to celebrate ideas that are defining a new age of originality, we’ve landed at the forefront of creativity, which is the open metaverse.”

Adidas Chief Digital Officer Scott Zalaznik, added “Blockchain is one of the most innovative technologies of this generation. We see it unlocking the boundless potential to connect with our members. The foundation we are building with Web3 will lead to new creative opportunities for partnerships, engagement through digital goods, and a path towards a more inclusive future.”

In taking a step further into the direction of becoming a Matrix-inspired world, Adidas also became the owner of a virtual piece of land, again in the Sandbox platform. The company has promised to fill the place up with “exclusive content and experiences”. Moreover, they also are the proud owners of their first NFT, ape #8774. Through this, they are now a part of Bored Ape Yacht Club’s 10,000-strong collection of ape avatars.

Each passing day, a new brand is making its way into the metaverse ever since the company, originally Facebook, made its iconic move and named itself Meta. We will have to see how long will it take for the entire world to shift to the virtual world, or if it will ever, considering the high prices of maintaining the crypto computers.

Xiaomi is a tech giant out there. It has one of the most impressive ranges of smartphones that one can imagine. If you want a budget range phone, the company has you covered. Additionally, if you want the flagship category, the company has you covered over there too. That said, there is more that they have yet to reveal to us. According to a report, Xiaomi is expected to launch flagship phones at the end of December 2021.

Before we enter into 2022, it makes sense to experience one more release by Xiaomi. In fact, there are going to be two releases because there are two flagship phones expected. At first, we might have heard about more phones releasing but Xiaomi has confirmed that is not the case. Instead, the two expected are of the 12 series; the 12 and 12 Pro. These smartphones are expected to house some impressive specifications as well as features. Who knows what tricks the company has up its sleeve this time?

Xiaomi Flagship Launches

When it comes to design, the 12 and 12 Pro are going to have less aggressive curves in them. Additionally, it is going to have bigger bezels this time, alongside a center punch hole for the selfie camera. This is different than the previous models and does offer a bit of room for change. Both of these smartphones are going to feature the Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 chipset. This puts them ahead of quite a lot of competitors on the market. However, the chipset has had some issues with other phones and we hope those are not replicated here.

Additionally, it has also been said that this chipset is 10% faster in performance than the 888 series. We hope to see more development on this front as the phones are released towards the end of December. The release date has been expected to be fixed at 28th December 2021.
