Game of Thrones Season 8 Remake Petition Has Taken Over the Internet!

Game of Thrones Season 8 remake

If you are a Game of Thrones fan you are no stranger to how bad season 8 has been.

It has destroyed all expectations and ruined the storyline that had been building up for the past 10 years.

A story that had kept the entire world on hook deserved better!

The showrunners David Benioff and Weiss, in trying to end the story in 6 episodes, hurried it so much that one is not able to cope with what has been thrown their way.

The first episode finally reunited most characters that had never met, new alliances were formed as armies of Daenerys and the North realized the threat is near. The second episode showed the preparation for the war with White Walkers. The the third episode showed the war that had been talked about since the first season. And it all ended in just one episode.

After which the show creators decided that they need only one episode to justify Dany taking on her father’s mantle and becoming the mad queen herself.

Game of Thrones Cast Salaries: Here’s How Much They Are Earning Per Episode

Fans have been freaking out scrambled all over trying to grasp at what has happened to one of the greatest shows!

But a change.org user with the name Dylan.D has taken upon himself to assemble the scrambled fans and start a petition to “remake Game of Thrones Season 8 with competent writers”

Dylan.D states:

David Benioff and D.B. Weiss have proven themselves to be woefully incompetent writers when they have no source material (i.e. the books) to fall back on. This series deserves a final season that makes sense. Subvert my expectations and make it happen, HBO!

The petition has already gathered more than 720,000 signatures with the number increasing by the second. Let’s see if the showrunners will take notice of and actually give us the remake we deserve.

PM Imran Khan Performance: 57% Pakistan Satisfied

A recent survey by Gallup & Gilani Pakistan, a social research lab, shows that around 57% of Pakistanis are satisfied with Prime Minister Imran Khan’s performance as an individual.

PM Khan has finished his first nine months in power, and people’s opinion of him seems to have improved, according to Gallup. Previously, the satisfaction percentage was at 51% in January 2019.

The exact question asked was “What is your opinion on Prime Minister Imran Khan’s overall performance up until now, i.e., since his winning the 2018 elections?”

However, according to the survey results, 51% of people thought Khan’s performance in the economic sector of Pakistan was weaker than that of PML-N’s Nawaz Sharif.

The survey also sheds light on some interesting demographics. The Urban respondents seem noticeably more positive about the PM.

On the other hand, the rural population does not seem too inclined towards the current government.

A few days ago, people were also seen conducting polls of their own on Twitter.

Moreover, Khan seems to have gained significantly more approval among millennials as compared to people from the middle-age group and above.

Aaj Shahzeb Khanzada ke Saath covered the survey report in detail on Geo TV. Watch it here:

It is to be noted that the survey results tell more about Imran Khan as an individual than Imran Khan as the current political leader.

It is a Huge Responsibility to Maintain the Best Standards Throughout: Sami Qahar, Head of Marketing at Haleeb Foods

sami qahar

Sami Qahar is the Head of Marketing at Haleeb Foods and a seasoned FMCG marketing and sales professional with over 16 years of commercial experience with global giants.

The Haleeb brand ticks off all the criteria for being called a household name in the true sense and has recently been bestowed with Brand Of The Year Award at the prestigious World Branding Awards.

The World Branding Awards is an international award presented to global and national brands for their work and achievements in branding.

In an exclusive interview, Sami talked about Pakistan’s first and only NUTRA-HYGIN milk, Haleeb.

Haleeb was recently awarded Best Brand in Dairy Products – Milk at the World Branding Awards. What has Haleeb done differently over the years that have led them towards being recognized on an international platform like this?

Sami: Our main objective at Haleeb Foods has been to think out of the box and be different. We work on providing our consumer with the best quality of milk. This mindset has been in the DNA of our organization. There are many brands out there that provide the same product but we at Haleeb Foods emphasize on providing our consumer the best standard of milk within their reach. In the last year, we have worked towards creating an innovative brand. Today Haleeb is the first and only Nutra-Hygin milk of Pakistan. Our constant effort towards growing our brand is what has been recognized by International Branding Awards in the category of local food brands. We are extremely proud of this achievement and are committed to bringing products our consumers can incorporate to adopt a healthy lifestyle.

Tell us about the World Branding Awards and what kind of a platform is it?

Sami: The World Branding Awards is an international forum. The award ceremony takes place each year in the USA and UK. The awards recognize brands for their hard work, innovation, and achievements. There are around 3,000 brands nominated each year and only 245 make it to the winner’s list. Global brands like BMW, Mc Donald’s, Starbucks, Lego, and Adidas have previously won this award and this time it was Haleeb from Pakistan that made it through for their innovation and differentiation. This is an extremely proud moment for us and we are thrilled to be showcased on a global platform.

What do you think made Haleeb a strong contender in the World Branding Awards?

Sami: I believe that our dedication and desire to constantly grow as a brand has made us a strong contender in the World Branding Awards. We gave the consumers the purest, the most nutritious and the best quality milk and by the virtue of which we made Haleeb the only Nutra-Hygin milk in the country. We have endorsements from leading nutritionists, the international acclamation from different labs in the world and we have a very unique quality system on which all our products are based. All these have combined to make Haleeb the first and only Nutra-Hygin brand in Pakistan. Our constant effort to innovate and provide consumers with the best product in the market is the reason today we are being recognized on an international platform like this.

This is an enormous achievement for Haleeb and a lot has to do with their history of being one Pakistan’s most trusted brand. How do you plan on giving back to your loyal customer who has stood by you?

Sami: Haleeb is the pioneer in the packaged milk industry in Pakistan, and therefore it has a heritage to protect and a history to live by. This has not been easy. It has been 35 years of providing its consumers with the best quality product. We believe that it is not a privilege, rather a huge responsibility to maintain the best standards throughout. There are a lot of people who have grown and lived by this brand and they expect a lot from it. It is our responsibility to provide the consumers with thorough quality assurance of our products and brand according to the changing needs of the consumer.

How does an award in Dairy Products – Milk highlight the importance of quality, purity, and nutrition which are the key factors that Haleeb stands by?

Sami: Haleeb has put a lot of emphasis on quality, purity, and nutrition over the last one year ever since we rebranded ourselves as the first and the only Nutra-Hygin milk of the country. Keeping in mind the daily consumptions of the consumer it is the responsibility of a brand like Haleeb to provide them with the nutrition value needed in a milk brand they trust to consume on a daily basis.

How are you going to incorporate being the best brand in Dairy – Milk in your products?

Sami: We are celebrating this award with our consumers and patrons because none of this would have been possible without the trust they have shown towards Haleeb along the years.

How does Haleeb Food’s plan to sustain its brand as Pakistan’s leading dairy producer?

Sami: Haleeb Foods as a company and Haleeb as a brand will keep innovating itself. We will keep bringing newer and healthier products to our consumers as this is our mantra and this is how we are going to sustain our brand in this tough economic situation. We as a company believe that our consumers adapt to fresh ideas and through our innovative Nutra-Hygin milk we would like to share the message that the way forward for a nutritious and a healthy lifestyle is through such products.

What kind of innovative products do you plan to produce in the coming years?

Sami: Haleeb has always believed in innovation and it is a journey that continues. It’s neither going to end today nor tomorrow. We are continuously striving towards rebranding and exploring new ideas and categories for our consumers. We are also looking forward to upgrading the existing segments for our users and also exploring the areas that are currently not part of Haleeb but are a need for our customers.

What has been the key factor in becoming Pakistan’s leading dairy and Beverages Company?

Sami: We have been producing high-quality nutritious products for the last 35 years to meet the consumers’ needs. This has been the foremost key factor in becoming Pakistan’s leading Dairy and Beverages Company. Secondly, as I said earlier, we have grown with our consumers and our consumers have grown with us, we have always had close proximity with our consumers that help us in understanding and fulfilling their needs. Last but not least, it is important to acknowledge our own people who have put in meticulous efforts for a company that believes in leadership and mutual respect for all the employees. All of these factors have helped achieve this milestone.

After being recognized at an international platform like World Branding Awards what is the next step for Haleeb?

Sami: The recognition we got through the World Branding Awards is just the first step. Our journey doesn’t end here; it is an ongoing effort where we are looking at expanding our horizon further. Here I would like to add something for our consumers who have trusted us and grown with our brand for more than three decades, we have been awarded for our quality in Qatar as well. We are looking forward to expanding our operations internationally for which we are exploring different countries for more opportunities.

Snapchat Users Are Exploiting Gender Swap Filter to Scam People on Tinder!

gender swap snapchat filter

Snapchat is one of the most popular applications around the world. However, no one could have predicted that fun and interactive application could turn in to a nightmare for many.

Reportedly, one of the latest Snapchat filters can change the gender of a female and males into the opposite gender.

Many individuals have been experimenting with it, sharing images of how they’d look like if they were the opposite gender.

Pakistani Hacker Leaked Snapchat’s Source Code Online!

Then, there were some who decided to go the extra mile and misuse the filters for their personal gain. Men, in particular, have been cloaking themselves as females to make fake accounts on applications to catfish others.

Jake Askew, from Norwich, UK decided to take this idea into practical form. He used the filter to make himself look like an attractive female, and made a fake account, by the name Jess, on a popular dating application.

In no time, his catfish account had 300-400 matches. Jake shared that he started to get messages of all kinds from “are you a piece of art because I want to nail you up against the wall” to asking him, “sit on my face”.

Real filter-free image of Jake

This clearly shows that there are several individuals who are misusing these filters to catfish individuals.

This is alarming as many children and many teenagers can be victims of child abusers and pedophiles who can use the filters to gain their trust.

Ryan Hill, another individual who had done a similar experiment shared that the filter made him look like a girl, so he took a picture and sent it to his unsuspecting girlfriend with the caption, ‘I have your boyfriend’s shirt on’. However, she did not take it so well and was not at all the happiest.

Snapchat is Finally Paying Creators!

While this might be fun and games for many, for the rest, it is just downright scary. If it can be this easy to fool hundreds of individuals within seconds, imagine what this kind of technology does in the hands of scammers.

That’s not all as this is not the only filter that has caused trouble. More filters like Snapchat’s ‘baby face’ can turn anyone into a young child-like individual.

Bravehearts founder and Senate candidate Hetty Johnston has expressed alarm at the new Snapchat baby filter.

These people are just changing the way they look, we need some clear cut and simple rules around what’s appropriate and these apps can never be safe for children.

McLassi by McDonald’s: Are Pakistanis Loving it?

mclassi

Earlier in April 2019, McDonald’s created an uproar on social media after it launched its iconic Bun Kebab.

Initially priced at PKR 250, the Anday Wala Burger is now available at PKR 270 and you can also avail it with a meal worth PRK 350.

Some found it an outrageous idea. The rest tried it and the reviews so far have been mixed.

Cashing on the summer season, McDonald’s has rolled out yet another item on the menu- this time it’s the traditional staple drink- Lassi.

Branded as McLassi, the sweet beverage is priced at PKR 120.

Of course, Pakistanis were bound to react to the new offering by McDonald’s and people have mixed reactions.

Of course, the price was the first concern voiced out by people.

The rest were not so sure about its sugary taste

Others believed that this innovation also worked in India and chances are that people will love it in Pakistan as well.

However, the question arises whether people will like the concept of branded lassi?

Quick Facts:

Price research reveals that Qasar-Shireen in North Nazimabad Town offers Lassi at a rate ranging of PKR 90 per glass.

Nagori Milk & Lassi Milk shop located near Disco Bakery, Gulshan-e-Iqbal has a glass of lassi at PKR 60.

Meanwhile, Ambala Bakers have lassi on the menu at a price of PKR 65.

Meanwhile, eateries like Chotu Chaiwala offer Lassi at a price of PKR 120.

The branded Adam’s lassi in grocery stores is priced at PKR 35/25 ml.

The rates of yogurt in Karachi have been ranging from 140 to 160/kg.

Keeping these facts in mind, it is apparent McDonald’s will have a tough time competing with Lassi offered by milk shops that are low in price and offer the real goodness of the desi beverage.

However, fans of McDonald’s are likely to buy McLassi, as they did with Bun Kebab.

Over the years, McDonald’s has adapted to food preferences across regions. In Pakistan, the fast food giant has also launched Chapli Kebab and the Mast Mutton Burger.

Will it be successful in regards to McLassi? Let’s wait and watch.

Sensodyne’s Latest Campaign will Tug at Your Heartstrings for all the Right Reasons!

Hasaas Rishtay Sensodyne

Advertisements communicate messages that market products in a number of ways. Some leave you craving for delicious food or a desire to purchase whereas others may get you emotionally invested from the first second.

Sensodyne, one of Pakistan’s renowned healthcare brands, has taken a new direction with an advertisement that will leave you in awe.

When we hear the name ‘Sensodyne’ we naturally recall adverts of dentists talking about sensitivity.

However, this time around, the brand took a different approach with the vision that out of everything in this world the most sensitive thing we have is relationships.

Whether that relationship is between a husband and a wife, mother and daughter, father and son etc., we all have ‘Hasaas Rishtay’ in our lives.

The ad starts off with a young man in his office. He gets a last-minute phone call from his boss and tells the person on the other side of the phone that he will be late, letting us assume he is updating his wife.

He then works throughout the night and makes it home. While passing the kitchen he realizes that the table has been set for him and that the food has still not been eaten.

He makes his way to the kitchen and says, “aray maa, ap toh kha leti” (Mother, you should have eaten) to which she replies with a plate of delicious food in her hands saying, “teri maa ke liye sub se refreshing time yehi toh hai” (for your mother, this is the most refreshing time of the day).

He then apologizes for being late, to which she tells him that there is no need for the apology and she does not get sensitive on such petty things. With a bit of humor thrown in, she jokingly adds “par teri hone wali biwi ka nahin pata” (but, I cannot say the same about your bride-to-be). Both start to laugh and are seen enjoying their dinner.

The campaign- Hasaas Rishtay tugs at heartstrings by showing the beautiful and sensitive moments between a mother and her son.

Sensodyne has built a connection with their consumers over these beautiful relationships, as everyone is working hard for another person, be it their parent, children, sibling or even their spouse.

Hasaas Rishtay is a beautiful narration of everyday relationships one shares that help strengthen one’s bond and moments that are treasured.

There is also no forceful advertisement or business angle in the advert, just pure emotions because they define who we are as the importance of these bonds are embedded culturally in us since birth.

The brand also hammered the nail at the perfect time by launching the advert just before Mother’s Day, timing the entire situation just perfectly.

We cannot wait to see more alluring narrations around these relationships from Sensodyne in the upcoming days.

iPhone Prices to Significantly Increase: Analysts

iphone prices

According to J.P Morgan analysts, Apple may have to increase its iPhone price by up to 14% in order to offset the costs of new tariffs.

This means that the price of an iPhone XS would jump directly from $1,000 to $1,142 if the White House goes on with the implementation of a 25% tariff on China imports in the US.

We estimate a price increase of around 14% is required to absorb the impact of a 25% tariff, keeping margin dollars for all players in the supply chain constant -J.P. Morgan

Google Takes a Dig at Apple with its Latest Billboard!

Furthermore, Bank of America (BoA) has estimated a 20% increase in iPhone prices if Apple decides to start locally manufacturing their product in the US.

We estimate the incremental cost of manufacturing iPhones in the U.S. could be 15-25%, and, if passed on to consumers could lead to demand destruction, in our view -Bank of America

Analysts further state that the tech titan is likely to absorb the tariff costs and take a hit rather than passing it on to the consumers by increasing the price as Apple’s stock is already down more than 11% since the start of the trade war on May 2.

BoA predicts that iPhone gross margin will decrease by 4% if Apple does pass the tariff cost on to its consumers by increasing its iPhone prices.

This decision lies in the hands of US President Donald Trump. If the decision is in favor of slapping a tariff on billions of Chinese products then the price hike is likely to take effect from June onwards.

What do you think, will Apple pass on the tariff slap on its consumers? Share your views in the comments below.

Hania Aamir & Yasir Hussain Clash: Iqra Aziz Unfollows Celebrities from Instagram

Iqra Aziz

Hania Aamir and Yasir Hussain’s social media clash clearly left us all shocked! After all, both the actors are friends and have even worked for Hum TV’s telefilm ‘Go to Hell’.

However, things seem to be getting ugly, now that Iqra Aziz has become part of the dispute and we wonder if this row will ever get solved.

Quick Throwback to What Happened!

It all started when Yasir Hussain called Hania ‘Danedar’, following her passionate post over defying beauty standards.

View this post on Instagram

So I have always struggled with mild acne. Always had these bumps on my forehead that JUST WOULD NOT BUDGE! I had gotten used to them. But the journey I have been on for a couple of months has been quite a painful one. I’d just come back to chitral from a day trip to kalash and after I had washed my face it started to burn and my skin went red. Didn’t take it seriously but the next day I had these tiny red bumps ALL OVER MY FACE.I freaked out but didn’t let it get the best of me because I was at work. They would show on camera, everybody started to ask me, started with the totkas and then came the anxiety.. khair when I got back they kind of calmed down.My skin looked clearer than before. But some three months back it started to act up again and it was even worse this time! I kept it clean, toner, creams, dermatologists, everything! Nothing seemed to fix my skin and I had my night AND days of crying. Feeling insecure. Anxiety. Makeup wouldn’t help. I was a mess but I went through it and got out of it too. I went to a different doctor and he prescribed me some meds. My skin has been better than before. But it made me wonder.. Why is my skin defining me? Who has made these beauty standards that we always feel the need to match? The society? Clear skin is beauty? I know that the idea of being “perfect” is appealing to majority but you don’t need to be an airbrushed flawless image to feel beautiful. Nobody should feel the pressure of matching the ridiculous societal beauty standards.Have your own.Beauty is within and anybody who makes you feel small because of what you LOOK like shouldn’t be around you! To all the brothers and sisters out there! Being a celebrity does not mean perfection; it only means we have chosen a profession that makes us and our lives public but certainly not that we do not go through issues in life; Every individual has their own. Perfection is not what we should be seeking, being comfortable in our own skin is the key. This is my skin at the moment. Better than before but still not quite okay. But till I tackle it am I gonna hide myself from the world? Shy away from people? No. Yes I am struggling but my skin DOES NOT define me. 🙏🏽

Renault Vehicles in Pakistan Might Not be Launching After All!

renault vehicles in pakistan

Excitement took over as the news of Renault coming to Pakistan took over social media a little over last year.

However, there is now a possibility that Renault vehicles in Pakistan might not happen after all.

According to a credible source, the French manufacturer has canceled its franchise license with its local distributor Al-Futtaim and has put its investment in Pakistan on hold.

Renault Pakistan to Setup its First Manufacturing Plant in Pakistan

Furthermore, an EDB official shared that Al-Futtaim has not officially intimidated to discontinue, but there is a high possibility it will withdraw its manufacturing plant completely.

The reason behind this sudden decision is said to be the unexpected economical instability which has caused the Pakistan Rupee to depreciate to the US Dollar, thus the project is no longer considered ‘feasible’ for Renault.

Previously, Foreign Minister of Pakistan, Shah Mehmood Qureshi has welcomed the French automotive manufacturer to Pakistan applauding its decision to invest in the country. The brand had signed an agreement with Al-Futtaim to manufacturer its cars in the country in November 2018.

As per the agreement, the joint venture was to produce 50,000 units per annum and invest US $140 million in the local industry.

Living and working in between Karachi and London, Nazia expressed her excitement in representing her home country at one of the world’s most prestigious art events. The Venice Biennale was first held in 1895 with an aim to connect individuals from all walks of life with art.

Nazia’s Manora Field Notes explores contemporary life on Manora Island in Karachi in a beautiful, elegant and simple way.

Manora Field Notes showcases a new body of work, including a sound piece, multi-screen video installation and series of cast brass objects, which examine the conflicting narratives surrounding this contested landscape -Nazia Khan

The artist spent months preparing the display for art enthusiasts for which she has put in 10-years of research and hard work to get every detail right.

Nazia Khan Notes
Naiza Khan’s Manora Field Notes

I have spent the last ten years investigating the transformations of sites including Karachi Harbour and Manora Island. My practice, which involves detailed research, documentation and mapping, looks at how the reshaping of these landscapes reflects wider changes in the Global South -She Added

Curator Zahra Khan shared that the theme at Venice Biennale is ‘May You Live in Interesting Times’ which slightly hints towards the uncertainty in the modern age.

Pakistan’s pavilion is about the engagement of multiple bodies of narratives and knowledge, including archival material, historical myths, conversations with local communities.

I am proud and honoured that Foundation Art Divvy’s latest endeavour, which focuses on bringing contemporary art from Pakistan to the public arena, is to organise and present Pakistan’s first foray at the Venice Biennale.

Pakistan has a remarkable, vibrant art scene and it is extremely important that it is represented on the world stage, particularly at a prestigious forum like the Venice Biennale. This pavilion is an opportunity to present an entirely different side of Pakistan -Zahra Khan
