Coca-Cola and Pepsi are at it once again with their latest marketing strategies in today’s episode of brand wars. Pepsi is calling out Coca-Cola in hopes of getting the loyal Coke customers under their spell.

Coca-Cola Zero Revolutionised

Coca-Cola zero has been through significant changes ever since it was released, from rebranding to new marketing strategies in hopes of getting Coke zero the fame it deserves. However, a few months ago, the plan backfired when Coca-Cola came out with a new version of Coca-Cola Zero which didn’t seem to sit best with the netizens. As a result, Coca-Cola launched a campaign under the name of Try It First to lower the judgment and speculations of people around it.

How It All Started?

A few weeks ago, Coca-Cola released a campaign to promote the latest reimagined Coca-Cola Zero. The newest version of Zero has been given a look and the feel of a classic coke. The newest version hit the shelves in July with not just refreshed taste but also improvised packaging. The marketing campaign for the Coca-Cola Zero launch consisted of three different advertisements. However, the game started when Coca-Cola asked their fans this question.

Is this the “Best Coke Ever?”

In response to the question, they also answered in a classic call-to-action manner.

“You need to try it first.”

Pepsi Takes A Dig On Coke-Zero

There is no doubt that both Pepsi and Coke have a fan base of their own. No one is unaware of the digs both brands have taken on each other now and then, to cash more loyal customers. However, this time Pepsi is taking its most undue turn to call out Coca-Cola once again after the launch of its latest version of Coke Zero. They even asked the customers to get reimbursed if they are not satisfied with the taste. The shade is real, and everyone is looking out for it.

Pepsi even moved on to openly announce the hashtag #MyCokeBreakUp and asked the customers to switch to Pepsi once and for all. Adding that if they are disappointed with their sugar-free version, they can get their payments reimbursed upon showing proof.

The world is evolving at a fast pace and everyone wants to keep a smartphone. If we take a look at smartphones prices today, one can easily find phones in the budget range of PKR 30,000 or PKR 20,000. In that very light, Xiaomi launched their smartphone range. However, they have evolved quite a lot ever since and moved towards mid-range smartphones too. Now, it seems they are getting rid of the ‘Mi’ branding.

It is not that they will stop producing phones. The difference is that the company will no longer use the word ‘Mi’ with their products. This news came to light as a rumour some time ago, when Xiaomi released the Pad 5 and Mix 4. What was interesting to note was that the company did not use ‘Mi’ with this product. This led people to believe that the company was going to shelve the name and use products with just their own name.

Mi Branding Long Standing

As far back as we can remember, the Mi branding has come with a huge range of smartphones. The name ‘Mi’ itself was one of the outstanding features of the brand. It even had its own logo and colour coding. You saw orange on any billboard, and you immediately knew what it was.

Apart from this, Xiaomi’s General Manager for the Nordic Region, also said that all the stores will be called ‘Xiaomi Stores’. This transition is also going to take place on the online ‘Mi’ store. Soon, any newly launching product will no longer be under the banner of ‘Mi’.

Innovative Names

According to the official source, this change is going to unify the brand globally. People often used to think of the two as entirely different, despite being closely connected. Now, everyone will know Xiaomi to be just the one brand with products. Xiaomi products offer a more premium experience whereas Redmi products offer a pocket-friendly one. With the branding removed, both of these are just under a single name now.

The shop currently sells clothing, accessories, footwear, and fragrances. Since BOSS is most widely known for its suits, the shop also offers bespoke suit-making services.

Hugo Boss is one of the largest German clothing companies in the world. Their global sales count was as much as €2.9 billion in 2019. Hugo Boss’ Strategy

The initiative of Boss to open the outlet in Pakistan is part of a greater scheme by the luxury brand. It seems to be a consequence of Hugo Boss’s ultimate plan to attract younger shoppers to the German fashion chain. It is believed that while older demographics have greater spending, the young shoppers are more impulsive buyers. Thus, in order to generate and double their sales to 4 billion euros ($4.74 billion) by 2025, Boss is going to new countries.

Chief Executive Officer Daniel Grieder, a former Tommy Hilfiger executive, joined the chain in June. He shared that he also wants to sell more via third parties i.e. through wholesale distribution. While Grieder said collaborations with other brands and celebrity endorsements are being considered to increase the brand’s reach, opening a new branch is also doing the magic.

Now, when the same question is asked Nadia Hussain, her answer is like a gust of fresh air.

The interviewer asks Nadia Hussain that, “Do you think it is a farz of women to do their husband’s work? Do you do his work?” To which Nadia Hussain honestly replied, “No, why should I do his work? He’s my husband, my life partner, not my child.”

This sets the standard for what she had to say beyond this and immediately shows her stance— it’s anything but what our toxic society feeds us.

The sister is asked to compromise for her brother repeatedly. The male is basically prioritised and pampered since birth. “Do you think that’s right?”, the interviewer asks Nadia Hussain.

To which Nadia Hussain simply said, “I believe that is wrong and I’m not raising my children that way.” Though being from an elite family her children might have many of their needs met, it is great to know that the change we seek is underway. Perhaps the coming generation will be different!

Izzat Majeed is not just the founder of an exceptional ensemble called Sachal Studios but he is also the man responsible for a resurrection of Pakistan’s Classical music genre.

In fact, the veteran took his patronage of classical music a step further by incorporating his unparalleled liking for Jazz into the works produced by Sachal Studios. Hence, he created an offshoot of Sachal Jazz Ensemble that has been earning Pakistan a reputable place in the musical front worldwide. It has also introduced a unique fusion concept of Jazz and local classical music.

Much of Izzat Majeed’s early life was spent in Lahore that was nothing short of a cultural hub. Therefore, the degeneration of the local artistic culture had left him deeply shaken. This served as his primary motivation to become the savior of Pakistani music through Sachal Studios.

In an interview with Brandsynario Izzat Majeed talked about the various aspects of his musical mastermind.

Of course, the foundation of Sachal Studios and its development was no piece of cake. However, the humble musician claims himself very fortunate in this regard and describes his passionate journey with sheer love.

We were very lucky. Considering we are an Abbey Road Studio, those guys came to Pakistan bringing their machinery. Then 6 months later they came again, to make sure everything is fine. This is the best set-up.

Even more amazing is the story of jazz’s revival in Pakistan via Sachal Studios. Till date, the platform is working hard on its mission and surely has been victorious.

One thing to be noted is the stark difference between classical work of Sachal Studios and that being produced commercially. However, Izzat is not satisfied with the work being done in the music industry.

I’ll tell you something, Jazz is the basic frontal in Pakistan and India – there is one basic structure. Even if you leave out the raag, that itself and Jazz itself is the same. So you play Jazz, pump it in and then play around with it any way you want. Raag is the same.

It is commendable that the work of Sachal Studios has traveled far and wide, receiving international acclaim. Even Hollywood actress, Meryl Streep could not stop herself from swaying and enjoying the performance of Sachal group.

A few weeks back, Sachal’s rendition of Game of Thrones title track went viral. It was adored so much that publications worldwide lauded the harmony and paid their tribute to Izzat Majeed’s brainchild.

Pakistan Sees Arrival Of Chery Tiggo 4 And 8 For Testing

There is no lack of new vehicle entries in Pakistan anymore. The days of limited brands are gone from this place. Where we used to think there was only a handful, brands like Changan and Chery are coming. Some of the vehicles have become highly popular in the country and we are expecting many more to take the same path. Despite there being so much competition, each brand and vehicle is getting the appropriate time in the spotlight. Now, two Chery Tiggo models have arrived in Pakistan.

According to a report that was released, two Chery Tiggo vehicles have arrived in Pakistan for testing. They also stand as proof that Pakistan is not lagging too far behind in the automobile industry. The Chinese company, Chery, has signed an MOU (Memorandum of Understanding) with Ghandhara Nissan Limited to produce vehicles. This way, Chery can establish a better standing in the local market.

Chery Tiggo 4

This is a 5-seater subcompact crossover with quite a lot of functionality. It is powered by a 1.5 Litre turbo-charged or a 1.5 litre naturally aspirated engine with a CVT gearbox. You know the car is going to perform well when you understand what it offers, so don’t forget to check it out on your own too. From ABS, EBD and traction control, the vehicle has everything. Its seats are meant to provide the highest level of comfort, without any compromise in quality.

While it is the smaller of the two test units, it is sure to attract a lot of buyers too. The specifications go on and on. We have yet to see how it fares on the streets of Pakistan. However, the vehicle will go up in competition against competitors like Honda and Proton X50. The price is yet to be known but the test unit is here so progress is definitely being made.

The Tiggo 8

This is the elder sibling of the two Chery Tiggo models. The Tiggo 8 is a vehicle with a seating capacity of 7. Yes, it is much bigger and provides additional storage space. If we look at the engine, it packs two engine options so there is diversity. These are the 1.5 Litre turbo and the 1.6 Litre turbo. It is currently known to be available in three variants of transmission,

Apart from that, the vehicle features an infotainment system alongside electric-adjustable seats. Chili Mili fans should not be doubted when it comes to their love. An honest representation of that is this exchange between a Chili Mili lover and the manufacturer of Chili Mili. The exchange has gone viral and for good reason, it’s simply epic!

The Complaint Against Chili Mili

A person on Twitter by the name of Usama Lali wanted to sort something out. “Why is Chili Mili no longer juicy?” His main issue is why the jelly is manufactured nowadays to be so dry and rubber-like. The guy should definitely pursue stand-up comedy because the “Chili Mili dry fruit” had us rolling on the floor. Jokes aside, how true is it?

Chili Mili nowadays has become like a raisin in appearance and also taste. Anyhow, one of us had the courage to finally voice this. It’s people like him who change the world. What do you know? He has changed the world of Chili Mili lovers.

The Solution

This complaint was taken up by none other than senior politician Miftah Ismail. Ismail was the former General Secretary PMLN Sindh. Miftah Ismail has recently, resigned over the difference with provincial leadership of the party.

However, what you might not know is that he also owns CandyLand Pakistan, the company that manufactures Chili Mili! Ismail’s family business is Ismail Industries Limited and CandyLand Pakistan is a division of that business. There you have it, the owner of Chili Mili has stepped in.

Miftah Ismail said that he will personally ask the manufacturers to make Chili Mili more juicy, delicious and just like how it used to be. However, there is a small condition. The Childhood Memories

Jellies like Chili Mili made our childhood. There have been so many more Pakistani manufactured jellies and toffees that we grew on that are no longer the same, unfortunately. We remember the time jubilee tasted better than any imported chocolate. The gummy bears jelly also used to be amazing with so many of the red ones inside the packet (the best ones).

Moreover, as Usama mentioned, Chili Mili used to be juicy. Besides this, Fruitella was the star of the show. Though it still tastes great at times, it doesn’t have that addictive quality anymore. We hope all these jellies and toffies can be revived and brought back— there’s nothing like them.

Coca-Cola has introduced a new smart way to package their cans and we couldn’t be more glad. After years and years of roasts and a pandemic, it seems they have finally knocked some sense into their packaging head (is there any?). Here’s what they’ve done:

The Cans Come Sealed Now

Now the cans come sealed! People are sharing this picture of the new Coca-Cola cans packaging and people were crazy over it. The cans have a seal on top of their rim which can be peeled back to reveal the rim. Unfortunately, this appears to be in a Middle Eastern company for now.

What Does This Do?

Have you ever been shamed by family or friends for drinking straight from the can when you ordered a fizzy drink? However, at the moment we undermine or rather ignore the health hazard and the fact that they are right. Most places serve cans and there’s no better way to enjoy the drink than have it straight from the can.

However, why had Coca-Cola not thought about this all this time? That the top of cans can be covered! With the top being covered, essentially, the place where you drink it from is clean. This means you will not be consuming the germs of whoever held the cans or wherever they stored them.

Has The Pandemic Prompted This?

The pandemic has taught us many lessons on cleanliness and protection from germs. Could it be that this packaging which has finally come about is due to the pandemic? Though there hasn’t been any report on the transmission of coronavirus through ingestion, many refuse to get bottles now. It means they can come with the germ on it which you can get on your hands.

Though this new packaging will protect many from ingesting germs, we doubt it’ll do anything to keep corona at bay.

Raksha Bandhan is an event that is celebrated by the Hindu community. Girls in the family tie a bracelet on the men whom they then call bhaiya. This event is for sisters to honour their brothers and celebrate them as their protectors. It appears Sarwat Gilani’s cook, Ghanaish, is a Hindu who has settled in Pakistan.

It is unclear whether he has his family here or not and so, why should he spend this day alone? Sarwat Gilani celebrated Raksha Bandhan with him and became his sister to make him feel that Pakistan is also his home.
