Ever since the lockdown has been imposed all across the world, people are restricted to step out of their homes to shop for themselves and have now started to buy online for almost everything. This also includes shopping for groceries online. However, it seems like some sellers have begun taking advantage of the current economic situation in the worst possible manner.

Although some stores and outlets are now operational, people are still skeptical about the idea of stepping out because the virus is nowhere near ending any time soon. This gives online sellers a perfect chance to scam their online buyers.

The growing online shopping scams

As the number of online shopping frauds is increasing rapidly, a new version of online shopping fraud has emerged. In this latest version, scammers pretend to be legitimate online sellers.

Nadia Hussain shares her complete experience 

Just recently, the Pakistani model, Nadia Hussain, shared her experience of falling prey to online shopping scams. She took it to her Instagram account, where she mentioned all the details of the incident. She also clarified that she’s not holding any of the courier services accountable for this incident.

I received this parcel today with my name hand written on the flyer and since I shop very regularly online it didn’t occur to me that this could be a SCAM and so I stupidly paid RS 4250 for an item I never ordered!!!!!. . . Moreover, Nadia Hussain also shared a CCTV footage of the rider at the end of her video for her audience to see.  Lastly, Nadia Hussain warns all the online shoppers to be careful and vigilant when placing orders online. She also advised her followers to always check the details on the package before one pays for it.
