Oreos are a classic snack for adults and children alike. To such an extent that Oreo especially created a line of cookies that suits adults more – Oreo thins. That is precisely why Oreos have become a household name all around the world. Hence, when our favourite cookie brand asks our favourite (debatable) phone brand to do something, we should support them.

You must know the saying  ‘woke up and chose war’. In oreo’s case, they woke up and chose publicity! In a tweet, they became direct with none other than Apple and expressed a request. Oreo wants the mega-phone company to introduce some oreo emojis! They are so dedicated to the development that they even designed some prototypes themself.

A Lahori model-turned-actress has been arrested on charges of blackmailing and extortion after the case was handled by FIA. The victim in question is another Lahori, reportedly a businessman. How much of this is true and are we seeing a trend here?

Who Is Ifrah Khan?

The criminal for whom arrest warrants are now out is Ifrah Khan. Khan is more of an internet personality who has over 39,000 followers on Instagram. Moreover, according to her bio, she is an actor, a model, a producer, and an entrepreneur. The ‘entrepreneur’ part is now making more sense than before.

Her Instagram shows that she is the founder of her own productions company IfrahKhanProductions. Many might know her as Mandy in an OTT drama titled Sandy Mandy.

The Latest Updates on Her Case

It has come to the media’s attention today that she has been booked by the Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) over blackmailing and extortion charges. She was blackmailing a Lahori businessman with a clip of his and demanding Rs. 1 crore. The businessman had also paid 5% of the amount, after which he filed a case with FIA, the cybercrime wing.

FIA is undoubtedly one of the most prompt organisations in the country hence, the investigation was wrapped up in due time. Ifrah Khan has been found guilty and is now to be arrested. It is also being reported that the model/actress Ifrah Khan defrauded the same businessman for over RS. 300,000.

Is This Becoming A Trend?

One such incident was when a case was registered against actress and model Sofia Mirza in 2019. She had a money laundering charge against her and the case was a field day for media houses. Since then, it is unclear what was made of the investigation.

On the same wavelength, model Ayyan Ali’s case is known to all. She was also booked under similar charges by FIA. Ayyan Ali was caught red-handed at the Benazir Bhutto International Airport. Ali was illegally smuggling over $506,000 to Dubai. She spent four months in the Adiala Jail in Rawalpindi after which she pleaded not guilty and since then has been bailed out.

These actions, no doubt, mar all actresses and models with a bad reputation. We’re hoping the truth comes to light and justice is served.

In Pakistan, the business of doing makeup has expanded over the last few years. All those who had an interest in the field started practicing at home by learning the skill from YouTube. From there onwards, the rest is history and the future is a clientele base that is never-ending.

[Update August 11th, 2021]: Didn’t we say that surely there must be a club awaiting the superstar? Well, we were right. Just within a week in which we even saw Messi shed tears at his departure from FC Barcelona, he has joined the club Paris Saint-Germain (PSG).

From the age of 13, when he joined Barcelona, the club knew what a star player Messi was. This is why they had been stretching their budget to retain Messi but ultimately they were unable to. PSG clearly can afford to sign him though. The footballer will now be wearing the ’30’ number for PSG, exactly the same number that he used to wear PSG.

HEC To Launch 50,000 Scholarships Under Ehsaas Program

Higher Education Commission (HEC) and the Ehsaas program are constantly enabling new avenues for Pakistani students so they can pursue higher studies. In the most recent installment that means announcing 50,000 scholarships.

Ehsaas Program Scholarships

The announcement was made yesterday as part of the Ehsaas Program. The Federal Minister of Education also attended the meeting of the Senate’s standing committee on Education that announced the scholarships.

Scholarships will be worth PKR 20 billion and will be awarded to undergraduate students. The recipient will include 50% girls and all from underprivileged families and areas.

The scholarship will span over the next four years and the scholarships will fully cover the tuition fee. There will also be a monthly stipend of PKR 4,000 per month. People from all four provinces as well as AJK and GB can participate in this. the application has to be made from the online Ehsaas portal accessible at: https://ehsaas.hec.gov.pk.

Ibadat International University

The members discussed and approved Ibadat International University as well. National Assembly had already passed the bill for the establishment of the university earlier. Invited members raised the point that increasing the number of universities and scholarships is definitely important but so is their standard and quality of education dispensed.

The newly announced university, according to Senator Fauzia Rashid will make available courses in artificial intelligence, biotech, and other subjects. To ensure that most of the students get the opportunity of studying here, the university will also be providing scholarships to 15% of its students.

Currently, the price of the phone is set at $150, so this seems quite affordable. It even has a dual micro Sim slot. The phone is so small, it is smaller than the computer mouse.

ICT service providers have been most active with setting up the initiative of digital ambition and are working for both government and private sectors to work towards a digitally progressive and inclusive Pakistan with Internet connectivity being the first pillar of the Digital Pakistan initiative.

Earlier this year, the IT&T Ministry led the initiative for laying down fiber optic cable in interior Sindh that will enable fast internet services through PTCL’s network infrastructure which was awarded by USF. This will not only benefit the people of Sindh, but also, create ample of job opportunities, boost online education and e-commerce that will play its part in turning the dream of a ‘Digital Pakistan’ into a reality by facilitating uniformed basic services to grow and prosper in its true sense.

Digital Pakistan vision also includes digital inclusion as one of its policy objectives. Currently, it has approximately 50% of mobile broadband usage gap, as defined by people, who live within the footprint of a mobile broadband network but do not use mobile internet as mentioned in the Right of Way (ROW) policy.
