Update: Shahid Afridi has teased his fans about his excitement about his upcoming biography called ‘Game Changer’.

Boom-Boom Afridi took it to Twitter to share his excitement with all of his fans.

Here’s what he stated:

The biography has been penned down by Wajahat Saeed Khan, a prominent critic, and journalist.

The biography will be released in India first on 25th April and on 30th April in Pakistan. His book will be published by HarperCollins India.

This has raised a discussion that Afridi has chosen an Indian publishing house to release his biography.

Consequently, HarperCollins India is demanded that it first gets published in our neighboring nation.

China Scholarships for Pakistani Students:

Update: Chinese Ambassador to Pakistan, Mr. Yao Jing has stated that China will provide 20,000 scholarships to Pakistani students throughout the next 3 years.

While addressing the media, Mr Jing shared that Prime Minister Imran Khan’s upcoming visit to the country will open doors inviting both parties to explore several opportunities.

He further added the Belt and Road Forum session which is being hosted in April 25th-27th in Beijing will have PM Imran Khan as a special guest and he will make a special address.

PM Khan will also be meeting with the Chinese Vice-President according to Mr Jing. The ambassador furthermore concluded that CPEC has proven very fruitful in strengthening the bond between Pakistan and China in the long-term.

China Scholarships for Pakistani students have been now increased up to 20,000 per annum.

Taking the strategic partnership between the two neighbors to next level, China’s Ambassador in Islamabad Yao Jing revealed that the number of scholarship is the highest for any country in the world.

Atif Aslam Breaks Silence Over T-Series Controversy!

Last month, popular Indian music label T-Series announced to unlist Atif Aslam songs to condemn the Pulwama attack and people were really not happy about it.

Soon after the attack, the Indian Government asked all music companies to remove songs featuring Pakistani artistes from their YouTube channels.

After getting threats, T-Series immediately removed a number of songs from its YouTube channel that featured Pakistani artistes.

De De Pyar De: Atif Aslam’s Track Deleted from Ajay Devgan’s Movie

Unsurprisingly, the Indian music record label brought back all the songs of Atif Aslam on their channel as they reportedly lost over a million subscribers.

Recently, the Coke Studio singer was asked about his opinion on the matter to which the singer said it can be because of his Indian fans.

Talking to WeeklyBlitz, the singer stated:

It happens. I don’t know. I think I’m really loved over there (India) by fans.

He also expressed his confusion over the whole controversy

Border-ban has appeared often but I personally don’t know the reason for this – why I was taken off and was back on YouTube.

However, he feels it is the love of his fans that brought his songs back on YouTube.

Millions of individuals all around the world are using some of the world’s most vulnerable and easily- hackable passwords.

In the latest report by UK’s National Cyber Security Centre (NCSC), it was found that the most common and widely used password in the UK and even around the world is ‘12345’.

Furthermore, the report states that it appeared in more than 23 million passwords. The second-most popular string, ‘123456789’, was not much harder to crack, while others in the top five included ‘qwerty’, ‘password’ and ‘1111111’.

Asides these, Liverpool and Chelsea footballers were also found to be used as popular passwords including the name of the club itself. Other popular names include Ashley, followed by Michael, Daniel, Jessica, and Charlie.

Restaurants in Islamabad Call-Off Protest!

Update: The Federal Board of Revenue (FBR) has shared that Islamabad-based restaurants have committed tax evasion of billions of Rupees. As a result of this, the Islamabad Restaurants Association (IRA) has asked all eateries to go on strike.

Reportedly, more than 250 cafes and eating-joint were asked to boycott in a protest which was to be held on 23rd April, however, it got called off.

There was a meeting held with Minister of State for Revenue Mohammad Hammad Azhar and IRA representatives in which it was decided that the IRA will no longer go ahead with the strike.

Khuwaja Junaid, one of the members present at the meeting told Dawn that the atmosphere seemed positive and that the Minister is keen on looking into the matter.

He assured the members that action would not be taken against restaurants which had cooperated and installed RIMS. Moreover, he principally agreed that in case of any grievance or complaint, the association would be contacted instead of directly raiding restaurants.

It has been decided that we will hold a meeting with member operations of the FBR on Monday on the board’s premises, and after getting a satisfactory reply, officially announce to call off the strike -Mr Junaid said

IRA has circulated a new notice in which it has stated that the meeting with the minister has remained successful and the protest has officially been called off.

FBR Bans Social Media, Streaming Websites & Downloading!

The minister agreed with IRA’s stance that FBR should concentrate its efforts towards bringing new restaurants into the tax net and not put further pressure on restaurants which are already correctly invoicing through RIMS and paying their taxes.

IRA also assured that in future all the FBR reservations will be taken care through the Joint Committee of FBR and IRA and any adverse action will be avoided. IRA looks forward to contributing positively in the development of Pakistan. Both the business community and FBR will work as partners towards the growth of the Pakistani economy. -The statement added

Previously, according to an anonymous IRA source, the FBR had approached the restaurant-owners and asked them to cooperate in the installation of the restaurant invoice monitoring system (RIMS) last year.

Although there are around 3,000 restaurants in the capital, members of our association agreed and allowed for RIMS to be installed. The FBR praised us and gave us certificates saying we were cooperating, and we were informed that section 40-B would not be imposed on us -the source said to Dawn

He further on shared that the FBR officials raided the restaurants without any prior notice this week and started to sit at the counters as well.

We have no choice but to close our restaurants, as we have been humiliated and treated like thieves.

Our margins are being squeezed day by day and it is visible on the RIMS, but the FBR believes that we have been trying to avoid the 17pc general sales tax (GST) and has been issuing notices to us.

The fact is that people have stopped visiting restaurants because their income and their financial position has suffered due to the devaluation of the rupee -he shared

Minor Girl Nishwa Passes Away After Wrong Injection Paralysed the Child!

Update: Minor girl Nishwa, who was taken to Darul Sehat Hospital in Karachi and was given the wrong injection is no more.

After being injected with the wrong medication, 9-month old Nishwa became paralyzed due to an overdose of potassium chloride which drastically deteriorated her brain cells.

A two-member body was also formed to probe the case of doctors’ neglect. The hospital took full responsibility for the error and her treatment.

An investigation is underway after a 9-month old girl in Karachi became paralyzed after being injected with the wrong injection.

Reportedly, Nishwa was taken to Darul Sehat Hospital hospital after she was experiencing gastric problems.

The parents of the child claim that due to medical negligence, she was given the wrong medication. Consequently, the baby lost control of her mind and body and a fastened heartbeat eventually leading the child to the ventilator.

The father reported to the media:

“An on-duty doctor told me that condition of my daughter would be better till morning if I leave her for one night. A nursing staff member, Moiz, came in and administered a drip.”

“The injection which needs 24 hours to be dissolved into the body was administered once that worsened my daughter’s condition and her lips went yellow.”

“My daughter was kept on the ventilator for next one week at the hospital and she was paralyzed when doctors removed her from the vent machine”

Case Filed Against the Hospital

The father has now registered a case against the hospital’s administration as he holds them responsible for his daughter’s current condition.

Advisor to Chief Minister on Information, Murtaza Wahab has taken notice of the incident. He shared that the government will give their full cooperation to the family and when proven to be guilty proper action will be taken accordingly.

Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) Member of Provincial Assembly (MPA), Khurram Sher Zaman, expressed outrage over the incident. He slammed the Sindh government for failing to keep a check on the deteriorating state of hospitals in the province

The hospital administration has accepted full responsibility of investigating the case and have agreed to bear all costs for her treatment.

An official statement was also issued by the Institute on the matter.

Outfitters showcased ‘Conversations’, which depicts an amalgamation of the latest street-style trends and youth culture. The carefully designed pieces were put-together to express individuality and personal style.

Rising star Hussain Rehar’s ‘H2O’ was an amalgamation of vivid lines with curvy, linear prints to create a contemporary, bold and emotive vision refined with high fashion sensibility to dazzling new extremes. The uber stylish actress Ayesha Omar walked as a showstopper for Rehar.

Mahgul closed the show with her collection ‘Between Ebony and Ivory’, which brought out the spirit of contrast and harmony, channeling a new interpretation of what it means to be ‘feminine’. Predominantly set in a monochromatic aesthetic with minimal embellishment, the collection was based on form and structure with a less is more vibe.

The Legend of Maula Jatt Producers Might Delay Pakistan Release: Here’s Why

The most hyped film of the year The Legend of Maula Jatt might not make it to the cinemas as announced officially by the makers.

The reason for this delay has nothing to do with the copyright issue or the release of two Pakistani flicks this Eid ul Fitr.

In fact, the real reason is the film’s scope in the international market due to which the international distributors have advised the producers not to release the film before certain territories theatrically and go for a worldwide same day release.

It will not only benefit the two parties but Pakistani cinema in general.

The Bilal Lashari directorial features Fawad Khan, Mahira Khan, Humaima Malick, Hamza Ali Abbasi and Gohar Rasheed besides others and has been the most watched online Pakistani film trailer till date.

According to sources, the film which was to complete the Eid line up with Chhalawa and Wrong No. 2 will now be clubbed with Lion King internationally for 19th of July or be released on Eid ul Azha.

If the producers decide to go with the pre eid release, then they can release the film with or ahead of a big Hollywood flick – Teefa in Trouble was released a week before Mission Impossible – Fallout but managed to beat all odds to become the most successful non- Holiday Pakistani release ever.

If Teefa could make its place on box office, The Legend Of Maula Jatt can pull in 3 times more crowd on a non-holiday release.

Keeping China in mind, the producers might go for maximum screens and benefit from the release of Lion King’s live-action version and Fast and Furious’ spinoff Jack and Hobbs which will grace cinemas all over the world on 19th July 2019 and 2nd August 2019 respectively. It will be interesting to note that Quenton Tarantino’s Once Upon A Time In Hollywood will also come to a screen near you on 26th July 2019 and makers of The Legend of Maula Jatt can choose any date from these flicks and give Pakistani cinema the boost it needs.

There is also the option of Eid Ul Azha as well but so far Heer Maan Ja and Paray Hut Love have been confirmed for that festival, and releasing The Legend of Maula Jatt might prove to be disastrous for all the three films.

Let’s see when the makers decide to release the film; a smart decision will benefit all concerned and that’s why the decision to delay the film should be taken positively, than as anything else.

Pak Suzuki has introduced the ‘Courtesy Car’ facility for the first time in Pakistan

This facility allows customers who have given their Suzuki car for repairing or service to take another vehicle home.

The replacement car will be allocated to the individual for a limited period of time to use while their car is being serviced.

Pak Suzuki’s all new Alto 660cc Unveiled at the Pakistan Auto Show 2019

In a Facebook post, Suzuki Pakistan announced, “For the first time in Pakistan, Suzuki introduces the facility of the Courtesy Car for its customers!”

As long as their owner’s car stays with the dealership, they are allowed to use the courtesy car.

Once the service work is done, the customer can simply drive back in the courtesy car and come home in their own vehicle.

However, it is to be noted that this service is only available in selective dealerships.

It is suggested that before a driver takes their vehicle for services and requests for a courtesy car, they should call and ask the dealership if they are providing this service beforehand.

Suzuki has thousands of customers in Pakistan and is one of the Top 3 brands in the country with thousands of WagonR, Cultus, Mehran and other models on the streets.

Recently, the automotive titan officially discontinued their Mehran and replaced it with the Alto 660cc to bring more competition in the markets.

It is expected that Suzuki 660cc Alto will come in three variants, Suzuki Alto VX (without AC), Suzuki Alto VXR (with AC) and Suzuki Alto VXL AGS (with AC & auto gear shift).

The first 3,000 customers to book Suzuki Alto 2019 and pay Rs 5 lac advance will undergo balloting. The lucky winners will get a chance to have Alto 660cc hatchback without balance payment.

The 3rd edition of Pantene Hum Showcase, powered by TUC, was off to a great start as 7 of Pakistan’s illustrious fashion brands showcased their collections.

Displaying unique collections, day one commenced with Zaheer Abbas, followed by 9Lines, Emraan Rajput, Zonia Anwaar, Image, and Deepak & Fahad, with Sublime by Sara as the finale; all setting the pace for a phenomenal fashion week to come.

Commencing the night with ‘Conceptuellè’, Zaheer Abbas aimed to broaden his canvas of signature whites as he dipped his toes in choice colors rendered with his fanciful imagination. Abbas’s collection put a strong, simple, dramatic emphasis on color, cut, construction and contrast in cotton, all without a speck of embellishment or print!

Following this was a strong debut by the quirky 9Lines with Nausheen Shah as their showstopper. Inspired by pop art with a playful touch of contemporary and sass, stitched in modern silhouettes and amped up with out-of-the-world accessories, their collection Pop Kitschry brought pieces that played on the brand’s funky sense of humor.

Next, we had Emraan Rajput’s ‘The Marquis’, which was a palatial version of those elements that ‘never get old’ in men’s formal wear; the highlighting pastel and dark colors. This marvelous collection reflected upon the excellence of quality and dictated luxuriousness, with the talented Imran Ashraf as the showstopper.

This season, Deepak & Fahad strived to highlight the epidemic of endangered species, the magnificent winged and horned creatures that make our world beautiful but are slowly dying out.

With this collection, they used intricate embroidery and prints to give a voice to the voiceless and emphasize the need to protect, conserve and respect. Actors Ali Rehman and Hareem Farooq from the movie Heer Maan Ja walked as showstoppers for the brand.

Instagram Passwords Compromised After Being Stored in Plain Text!

In another turn of events, Facebook admits that its employees had access to millions of Instagram passwords that were stored in plain text.

These passwords were left exposed on one of their servers. It was uncovered that the passwords were accessible by at least 20,000 employees.

The security breach was first announced by the social media giant on 21st March when it shared a post telling users that it had left approximately 600 million Facebook, Facebook Lite and Instagram users combined stored in plain text.

Instagram Might Hide Like Counts on Photos

‘Since this post was published, we discovered additional logs of Instagram passwords being stored in a readable format,’ Pedro Canahuati, Facebook’s vice president of engineering, security, and privacy, wrote in a blog post.

We now estimate that this issue impacted millions of Instagram users. We will be notifying these users as we did the others.

Our investigation has determined that these stored passwords were not internally abused or improperly accessed. – Pedro Canahuati added

The discovery of the passwords being hidden in plaintext was made by security researcher Brian Krebs.

The data goes back far as 2012. Facebook first became aware of this security situation in January 2019.

Massive Facebook Data Breach: 540 Million Records Leaked on Servers

A series of blunders have already caused a major blow for Facebook as users are now very cautious of their privacy and data being online.

On Wednesday, Facebook acknowledged that it may have unintentionally uploaded email contacts of 1.5 million new users on the social media site since May 2016.

However, reported the contacts were not shared with anyone and the company is deleting them.

Last March, it had the famous Cambridge Analytica situation at large in which it was found that the social-media giant disclosed some 87 million users’ information which was then harvested and shared with Trump-affiliated campaign research firm.

Additionally, in September, Facebook announced that it had been hit with one of the biggest breaches on record as 50 million user’s data was exposed because of a vulnerability in its ‘View As’ feature.

In 2018, the platform came in the news off and on for more privacy violations and other issues both political and non-political.

According to Facebook, those users whose accounts have been exposed will be notified. These users include:

  • Facebook: Tens of millions of users
  • Facebook Lite: Hundreds of millions of users
  • Instagram: Millions of users

As of now, users can change their passwords by resetting them and making them even more stronger.

For peace of mind, they can also opt to go for the two-factor authentication feature through a third party authentication app.

Reportedly, users will still be able to tap on the heart icon and will function as it does but the count will not show.

The feature was first picked up by Jane Manchun Wong who is often hunting for such details on Insta and Twitter. She shared an image to show what the new feature looks like without the counter.

In the image, there is a small description by Instagram which reads:

We want your followers to focus on what you share, not how many likes your posts get. During this test, only the person who shared a post will see the total number of likes it gets.

In a statement to The Verge, Insta officials have shared:

We’re not testing this at the moment, but exploring ways to reduce pressure on Instagram is something we’re always thinking about.

We have now to see if Instagram goes ahead with this experiment or will it drop the idea overall. Time will tell for this one.
