The 144th birth anniversary of the renowned National Poet of Pakistan and Muffakir-e-Pakistan, Dr. Allama Iqbal is being observed today on 9th November. Allama Muhammad Iqbal was the epitome of rich Urdu literature and one of the most instrumental figures in the history of Pakistan.
Born on November 9th, 1877, in Sialkot, Iqbal was a patron of the political, historical, religious, and cultural journal of Muslims of British India who played an important part in the Pakistan movement.

In his presidential address on December 29, 1930, Iqbal sketched a vision of an independent state for Muslim-majority provinces in Northwestern India;
“I would like to see the Punjab, North-West Frontier Province, Sindh and Baluchistan amalgamated into a single state. Self-government within the British Empire, or without the British Empire, the formation of a consolidated Northwest Indian Muslim state appears to me to be, at least of Northwest India.”
9th November 2016 marks Allama Iqbal’s 139th Birth Anniversary and we have decided to pay homage to the greatest philosopher of all time, by compiling some vintage images and shots from his life.
Let’s view some of these pictures below:

Seeking out haunted locations and spooky spirits is a favourite pastime for many people nowadays, and this castle could top any ghost hunter’s wish list.
UK’s Haunted Castle
Chillingham Castle in Northumberland has a storied history regarding paranormal activity; it’s even been dubbed the most haunted castle in the UK.
The castle has been the location of regular ghost sightings. It also has a brutal backstory dating back to the 13th century. Meanwhile, the ghost tour around the castle explains, the building has been home to some blood-curdling tales, including murder and torture.
One room of note featured in the clip is The Edward Room. It is speculated that King Henry III stayed there. One guest’s ghost meter rapidly lit up in certain areas of this room, alluding to the presence of some paranormal spirits.
A video of an ancient British ‘castle’ going viral on social media shows that ghosts rule here. The video shows a tour of the interior of the fort, and at the same time, the ghost meter lights up brightly, indicating the presence of some unusual spirits there.
Supernatural Experience In The Castle
Supernatural experiences are rather common at the location. Many guests reported pushing, hair pulling, voices being heard and even sightings of numerous ghostly figures. According to media reports, guests have had their hair pulled, horrible noises have been heard, and several ghosts have been seen.
Staff in the castle are also said to have heard a loud voice telling them to “get out”.
Viewers were quick to share their stories of the castle, with one user commenting: “I stayed there and it scared the hell out of me, we loved it though.”
Another commenter wrote: “As we were leaving the chapel, someone put their hand on my shoulder… I was the last one in the group… other things happened while we were there.”
A third added: “Went on a ghost hunt there years ago really spooky place, we even explored the graveyard just at the start of the castle driveway.”
Emirates Airline has begun inviting UAE nationals, residents, and international candidates to join its cadet training programme. However, the program’s highlight is that some may even get a chance to join the airline.
Graduates will have the opportunity to become pilots with the Dubai-based carrier once they pass a selection process. Emirates said that potential applicants could take advantage of “competitive” tuition fees for the two-year training period. The fee will also cover training materials, accommodation, dining, and uniforms, among other expenses. Emiratis seeking careers as pilots may have the opportunity to be selected for a fully-sponsored pilot training programme. The program is also open for international candidates.
Flight Training Academy
“We are pleased to offer this unique opportunity for Emirates Flight Training Academy graduates to pursue their flying career at Emirates. This is an exclusive initiative launched by the airline to provide opportunities for UAE Nationals, residents and international students wanting to build their careers as pilots,” said Adel Al Redha, Chief Operating Officer at Emirates Airline, in a statement.
The Emirates Flight Training Academy reviews applications continuously, with new students onboard every other month. “The demand for pilots will continue to grow globally and within the region. Despite the recent pause that we have seen as a result of the pandemic,” said Abdulla Al Hammadi, Vice President of the Emirates Flight Training Academy.
Location And Services
Emirates Flight Training Academy is located in Dubai South and covers over 164,000 square metres. Meanwhile, it includes 36 classrooms and next-generation simulators. The academy also has a 1,800-metre dedicated runway with navigation aids and lighting, an independent air traffic control tower, rescue and firefighting service, and a maintenance centre.
The academy uses a four-pronged approach to train its cadets: highly interactive theoretical learning in classrooms using advanced digital content and immersive VR technology, experiential learning through hands-on instruction of modern training aircraft, use of advanced flight simulators, and airline-focused line-oriented flight training. The academy trains cadets using single-engine piston Cirrus SR22 G6 aircraft to directly progress to the Phenom 100EV very light jet (VLJ) aircraft, providing cadets with more experience on jet aircraft.
The last batch of cadets that graduated in December last clocked in over 6,000 flying hours during their training at the academy. Cadets at EFTA graduate with a commercial pilot license on a multi-engine aircraft with an Instrument rating. The total training duration ranges between 21 months and 24 months.
Interested candidates can apply for the program here.

TCL is immensely excited about the sale as there will be some great deals, amazing discounts and branded products up for sale.”

TCL has maintained a position of being the leading player in the Global Consumer Electronics industry. With a global presence in over 150 countries, the brand is working towards building a prominent position in the Pakistani electronics market by offering high-end technology at affordable prices.
The world’s largest shopping day, 11.11, has almost arrived, and this year, South Asia’s leading e-commerce marketplace, Daraz, is looking to give shoppers their greatest experience yet.
Daraz’s CEO and Founder, Bjarke Mikkelsen, says 11.11 is set to be different than previous years.
“This year, we want to make sure the campaign is not only about great deals but provides a fantastic and innovative user experience. We have been working hard to improve and simplify the overall shopping experience, so products are easy to find and the entire process – from browsing to purchase to delivery – is seamless and straightforward.
“Shopping should always be an exciting and fun experience, and we want all of our customers across the region to have an amazing time this 11.11,” says Mr. Mikkelsen.
Daraz has integrated a range of new technologies into its marketplace to create a more personalised, immersive, and simplified shopping experience of its 50 million products.
One of the latest features is the introduction of shoppable live streaming. This technology allows shoppers to directly engage with sellers through live video, giving them the opportunity to discover new products, learn different ways to use a product, and engage in an interactive review of the product with the seller. This innovative shopping experience bridges the gap between online and offline, enabling shoppers to make more informed purchasing decisions.
In addition, each shopping section has been integrated and personalized. Each user is offered a unique navigation experience on the Daraz app, allowing them to easily access deals and promotions that best match their interests and preferences. The integration of an automated replenishment tool and an automated pricing tool ensures that a large number of deals are constantly offered and that prices remain competitive throughout the campaign.
As well as the work Daraz is doing to sharpen customer experience, they are also making sure 11.11 across the region is delivered in a more sustainable way. Daraz has invested in solar energy to reduce energy consumption, implemented greater automation to reduce the use of paper, and has committed to planting one million trees across Pakistan, Bangladesh, Sri Lanka, Nepal, and Myanmar.
“As a business, we are mindful that we want to have a positive impact on our communities across the region. While we are committed to ensuring our customers have the best shopping experience this coming 11.11, we also see the opportunity to leverage the reach of this year’s shopping festival to emphasise the importance we place on operating sustainably. We hope this approach will also start influencing our customers to shift towards thinking more proactively about how they can do their part,” says Mr Mikkelsen.
Hum Kahan Kay Sachay Thay, the current on-air Pakistani Drama is attracting quite a lot of eyeballs. And while we are loving it too especially since we read the novel as well, there are some discrepancies that we cannot wrap our minds around. Hence, even though we may love the hallucination-Mashal or the predicted romance between Mehreen and Aswad, the drama creators may want to shed some light on these issues.
Remember when Mashal was alive and Mehreen hated Aswad? Aswad asked Mehreen to say no and she agreed. But the next time she meets her Khala, she just says yes, as if she had not promised Aswad anything. There was no justification for the change of heart.
2. Safwan’s reaction
Safwan who was going to be engaged to Mehreen lost his chance twice because of Aswad; he was not understandable at all. They show him to be so open-minded and in love with Mehreen that he did not need any proof of innocence, he just helped Mehreen out in jail. Plus, he convinced his mother as well for his decision of getting married to Mehreen. And when Aswad gets in the middle of the meetup yet again, he genuinely believes Aswad to be tormenting Mehreen (he said as much in the car ride with mommy). But then, in the next scene, where Mehreen leaves the house to elope with him, he accuses her of murdering Mashal? The character does not match!
3. Aswad and his nonsensical prison
After getting married to Mehreen, he announces her punishment. He tells her that she is not allowed to leave the house or attend to anyone’s phone call. She is not to meet with anyone or talk to anyone. She is also not to wear good clothes. After saying his piece, he just leaves her in Pakistan with someone who sympathizes with her (the khala) and goes to America?!?
Did he not think that behind his back, the rules may not be enforced?
Image Source: The Other Me Unfolded
4. The police and the incompetence
In the most recent episode, Mashal’s father had the police raid Aswad’s house to arrest Mehreen. She was hiding in the laundry, but the police couldn’t find her. Now, this was plain competence and did not make sense. Or wait, it is not that unexpected now, is it?
5. Inconsistent emotions of the investigating officer
The officer is definitely very inconsistent. When the crime happened, him being the stereotypical definition of a Pakistani policeman was biased against the suspect. He then began to show emotions as if he sympathized with Mehreen; as if he felt for her. But then the next moment he enters the canvas, once again, he is based against her.
Before Mashal died, she messed with Mehreen’s food. But then when Mehreen did not eat, she had Shabbo throw it away. Shabbo fed it to the dog. What happened to the dog?
We would very much like an answer to all these. Anyone, from Umera Ahmed, Mahira Khan, Kubra Khan, and Usman Mukhtar to the drama producers and directors can answer.
Until then, let’s wait for episode 14 of Hum Kahan Kay Sachay Thay due on Sunday.

Quite a lot of smartphone brands are operating in Pakistan as we speak. We can talk about them all day long and we would still not be able to mention all brand models. You might think about buying a new smartphone this month and get stuck. It is because newer phones are being released every month. A better one might be available to you next month or the one after that. That said, you should still consider every smartphone purchase as an investment. It must be a calculated decision so one must be wary of brands. vivo is one of the brands that you might want to steer clear of.
We are not saying that it has always been a brand to be cautious of. When it was first released, it gathered quite a sea of customers. Everywhere you’d look, you would find, at least, one vivo smartphone. However, it seems that they might have started to decline in their quality as time has passed by. Are they really worth an investment now in 2021?
vivo Phones And Quality
If we look at just the budget range of vivo phones, a lot of information might come as a shock. While the Y19 model is quite a recent one, it is certainly not the most impressive one. It has a chipset of Snapdragon 460, which is quite old for its performance now. Not only is it expected to lag and hang, but the phone has a shorter life now. In the price that the phone is offered, it does not justify the specifications. realme’s 5i can give Snapdragon 600 series in the same price range.
In fact, the 6i having Helio G80 is much better than the older generations of Snapdragon. vivo phones do not survive drop tests quite well, be they a budget phone or a mid-range one. Their battery life is even a 1000mAh lesser than its competitors. Would you rather not go for a smartphone that offers a longer battery, a better build, and a better processor? After all, a phone is an investment and you want it to last long. We would be surprised if vivo budget phones can last well past a year.
Getting Slower
Talking about the vivo higher-end phones, they are not faring as well either. The Y20 has had reviews where people have called it slow. They say that the UI is not appealing to the user and they feel they are using a lower-end phone. Why would anyone pay Rs.55,000/- just to have a mediocre experience in using a phone? If you have that much of a budget, you would rather go for the realme 7 Pro. It is better in every aspect and even costs less.
Additionally, it can break much easier than the rest of the competitors so that is a downside as well. That said, we hope you get the best phone that is available to you in your budget.
Pel just released its new ad with the theme of Wedding Jackpot and it did not sit well with some of the people. They assumed it to be an ad glorifying dowry, a phenomenon that is very much rampant in our society. But does it really glorify it though? Let’s look at the ad with a closer eye.
The ad begins with a wedding gathering where the new couple is getting photographed with relatives. Right then, a man enters singing the song and getting everyone to join in. This is the brand’s way of announcing the new campaign, the wedding jackpot. At the wedding, when the couple gets all the brand new stuff for their life ahead, they can get it all at a lesser price, and that is JACKPOT!
Some netizens did not like the ad. They felt the idea of the wedding to be extremely run-of-the-mill. While the brand could indeed have tried harder, the choice of going with a wedding is not that unthought off. Why? We belong to a culture where even though we had a pandemic imposed lockdown, there were weddings happening indoors. We are obsessed with weddings. Hence, when a brand is looking to sell its products, it would want to resonate with the masses for sure.
But this soon led to connecting the dots with the dowry. Dowry is when the bride and her family are burdened into bringing literally everything she would need when starting a new family. Now that the wedding is being shown, the deep-rooted idea must also be what it is glorifying is what some netizens thought.
Is really though?
While PEL could have indeed conveyed the idea in a better way where such an assumption does not even happen, the ad in question does not really glorify the act of dowry-giving. Most people around the world consider a wedding to be a new chapter, a new life for the couple. And when they enter their new life, they want to have new equipment; everything should scream new. And it is not always dowry. In fact, those who say no to dowry, also shop for new products. The couple pitches in their own money to buy the new equipment and house accessories.
Yes, the TVC does not say no to dowry but it doesn’t say yes to dowry either. They just signal that a new couple is off to start their new life and they should do it with everything new.
Next time, they can take a different route though; have a storyline. They could probably show a rishta meetup if there are really keen on exploring the wedding concept. And in that meetup, they can position a dialogue where the couple plans on purchasing the necessities and the luxuries but reinvokes that it will be the couple doing the purchasing and not the bride’s parent.
Take note PEL!

Paan is a traditional streetside food in the subcontinent which is loved and hated passionately – loved on chilly nights when there is a stall outside weddings and everyone devours one; hated, when pot-bellied uncles spit out paan-colored saliva with ultimate conviction on every corner. One red spit mark at a time, the world becomes dirtier. However, our love and hatred for paan aside, paan is being deeply tormented in India. Here’s how:
The Video Going Viral on Social Media
There is a video going viral on social media in which a paan wala is making a special paan in his shop. The video will immediately make you want to throw your phone in a ditch or start fasting. Why? It’s because it’ll make you want to hate food when you imagine the taste combinations.
https://www.facebook.com/watch/?v=320687719906318
The video is going viral because someone thought it to be a great idea to add cheese in paan. From the looks of it, this looks like a mozzarella cheese cube that is being shredded onto a paan. Mozzarella already has a more strong, salty taste and to add that to paan is an abomination.
Why Is It Going Viral?
It’s not going viral because it is a miraculous invention that will bring world peace. It is going viral because the combination is so disastrous and vomit-inducing that people are shocked. The comments are full of sarcasm, jokes, observations, and much more as people grapple with this viral video. Have a look at what all was said:
Combinations like maggie noodles with chocolate and paan with cheese need to be abolished. They need to be condemned more than the Panama case. These combinations ruin our childhood (and adult as well) favourite foods and make them into different perverted versions. Granted that not everyone has sophisticated taste buds, one can enjoy these horrifying combinations in the privacy of their homes.
Why must they be made viral for everyone to have a bad day and nightmares? The comments under this video are proof enough that this virality is doing no one a favour!
There’s a chicken and egg game going on when it comes to netizens and celebrities. Do netizens love to pick on Ahsan and Minal Khan more or does the couple love netizens more and hence, keep providing pictures to them? Perhaps we’ll never know. But what we do know for the moment is that Ahsan Mohsin Ikram is being called something by everyone— find out what it is, here!
Ahsan & Minal Khan Spotted
The newly-wed couple was captured at a party recently. Ahsan Mohsin Ikram nailed the casual-dressy outfit with a button-down and skinnies. On the other hand, Minal Khan was wearing a printed silk shirt and some pants! Fuss-free outfit for sure. Though more details haven’t been released of the party, two pictures of the couple have since surfaced. Have a look at them here:
By now you must have noticed that Ahsan Mohsin Ikram looks out of it in the second photo. The important question is whether that picture was just clicked at the wrong time or whether the consumption of ‘something’ had made him look like that! Whatever it may be, netizens were triggered and developed their own theories.
Netizens have no chill anymore and are straight-up calling Ahsan Mohsin Ikram a ‘nashayi’. They are questioning whether this actor is always under the influence of ‘nasha’ or whether he does it so frequently that one can’t seem to see him normally. Have a look at their comments that don’t mince words:
What Will He Respond With?
The last time people attacked Ahsan Mohsin Ikram was for not “scolding” his wife – as if he was her father – for wearing a dress on their honeymoon, he responded. Ahsan Mohsin Ikram said that he dreams of a “liberal” Pakistan and that he is no one to control his wife.
Will Ahsan Mohsin Ikram also respond this time to netizens accusing him of being a nashayi? We hope his defense to being high or drunk in this photo won’t also translate into a dream for a drug-tolerant Pakistan. Jokes aside, the couple is on a roll after their marriage when it comes to traveling and partying!
The match last night between Pakistan and Scotland was the last installment before the semi-finals for both countries. Pakistan made it to the next round while the latter had to pack bags for home. While most may not consider yesterday’s match to be of much importance considering we already secured our place for the semi-final, it did determine us as the undefeated in this year’s T20 World Cup (thanks to Shoaib Malik, of course).
After the victory, we resumed our place on the top of the scorecard with 10 points and emerged as the only team to have not lost any match in this tournament. As the rules indicate, the Pakistan vs Scotland match was to determine who we will play against in the semi-final. As the top team, we have to play against Australia, the runner-up from the other group.
As we celebrate the victory, we should also acknowledge a good game brought by Scotland who did not act defeated even though they were already out of the tournament. They gave a good game. In fact, considering that they were able to make 117 runs, their win might have seemed achievable had Pakistan not given a huge target. And when we acknowledge the huge target, we have to acknowledge Shoaib Malik and his sudden streak of sixes.
Last few overs, Malik made his way to the pitch and netizens were not too sure of this decision. Given how badly India had defeated Scotland, had the match turned out any other way, this would have been an indirect victory to our arch rival. But Malik came and the sixes he made one after the other won netizens hearts. He truly was a glad tiding for the Pakistani team. And Sania Mirza, the nation’s bhabi from India became glad tiding for the player.
54runs||| 18 balls||| 6 sixes… Shoaib Malik has hit sixes in every match in which Sania Mirza has been present. Mashaallah Shoaib Malik has presented a great game. Shoaib Malik seems to be playing outclass like this after a long time.#shoaibmalik#malik#PAKvsSCOpic.twitter.com/OJyps55bsi
— Arsalan H. Shah ~ Proud Pakistani (@arsalanhshah) November 7, 2021
Hopefully, the 40 years ‘young’ player will continue to showcase his experience with iconic performance in both, the semi-final as well as the final. This year, the cup should definitely be ours. But even if we do not win, let’s be better than the Indian fans and greet the team with our signature, ‘Tum jeeto ya haaro suno‘.

Cricket runs in the blood of Pakistanis, not to forget how this soil is blessed with champions of this sport. The country has produced some fine sportsmen-turned-into-legendry cricketers who have shown their class in the cricket field and made their countrymen proud.
The following are seven Pakistani cricket legends who were masters of this game and have had great achievements:
Imran Khan
When you think of Pakistan’s glorious journey in cricket, the first name to strike in your mind is most probably the one-man-army, Imran Khan. The whole world adores him as the greatest captain cricket anyone has ever seen. With an unmatched class, this cricket genius led his side to miraculous wins against top oppositions of then.
His ‘cornered-tiger approach’ instilled a belief in the team that made Pakistan World Champions in 1992, the biggest achievement of his career. The legend was Pakistan’s finest cricketer and the best all-rounder of that time with aggressive fast bowling and stylish batting. In his 21-years cricketing era (1971-1992), Khan transformed Pakistan cricket and every single cricketer of the country today idealizes him.

Wasim Akram
Wasim Akram was undoubtedly the greatest fast bowler of all time who mastered the art of swing and seam bowling. The ‘King of Swing’ is the only bowler to have four international hat-tricks to his name, twice in ODIs and tests. He was the first bowler to reach 500 wickets mark in ODIs and won many games for Pakistan with his all-round performance.
No one can forget his two successive super-magical deliveries in the 1992 WC Final, which turned the match in Pakistan’s favor. These two balls rated as Millennium Best Balls in the cricket history. The all-rounder also led Pakistan in two world cups during his 18 years (1985-2003) international career.

Javed Miandad
Javed Miandad was, arguably, the classiest batsman Pakistan has ever produced possessing solid batting technique and steely nerves. Known for his cut shots and athletic running between the wickets, it was Miandad who introduced reverse sweep shot first. No batsman could have been a better finisher than great Javed Miandad in limited over games.
His last ball winning six to Chetan Sharma at Sharjah is one of the classic moments of cricket history ever. He was the only Pakistani cricketer and second in the world who played six world cup tournaments (1975-1996). The legend is more like a whole cricket academy by himself for youngsters in Pakistan.

Waqar Younis
The toe crusher, Waqar Younis, was known best for his deadly in-swinging yorkers. At his peak time, he was impossible to play against as he was known for his fiery pace and swing that troubled the batsmen. His ability of reverse swing delivered with accuracy made him a terrifying fast bowler clocking a speed of above 150km/h. It was always a wonderful sight to see him surging his run-up and breaking the stumps of great batsmen.
One of fastest ever, Waqar paired up with Wasim in 2Ws, won numerous matches for Pakistan by his magical spells. Waqar aka ‘Burewala Express’ also led Pakistan team in World Cup 2003 in his 14-years career (1989-2003).

Inzamam-ul-Haq
Inzamam-ul-Haq was an iconic batsman for Pakistan and his presence at crease always kept the chances of winning alive. He emerged as a star when he stole the victory from New Zealand in 1992 World Cup semi-final. When it comes to batting in critical situations and taking responsibility, Inzy was best in the business by keeping his head cool.
His mentor Imran Khan rated him as the best batsman in the world against any pace attack. Inzamam also has the honor of scoring a triple century in tests (329 runs), the second-highest test score by a Pakistani. The consistency in his batting increased after he was rewarded captaincy and he shaped inexperienced, young team into a fighting unit.

Shoaib Akhtar
With his sheer pace and nasty deliveries, world’s fastest bowler Shoaib Akhtar defied all the great batsmen of his time. Having lightning fast speed around 160km/h, facing ‘Rawalpindi Express’ was like a nightmare for all batsmen who were on top. The cricket has witnessed some terrific spells of fast bowling by Shoaib Akhtar that were completely unplayable. Many times, his couple of overs turned the whole match in Pakistan’s favor.
Even legends like Sachin Tendulkar and others admitted that they did fear Akhtar and their legs shivered at the crease. The two successive balls to cleaned up Rahul Dravid and Sachin Tendulkar at Eden Gardens shaped up his career. However, he bowled the fastest ball of the cricket history at 161.3km/h in World Cup 2003.

Saeed Anwar
Saeed Anwar was the most stylish opener Pakistan has ever had. His natural stroke making with majestic timing and placement were always a treat to watch. The wristy batsman was a real class-act who used to bat with elegance at ease to dominate the opposition. Anwar was known for reading the bowler’s length early and was very strong on his legs.
When there is his day, he seemed to be unstoppable with aggression against spinners and medium pacers particularly. He scored 20 magnificent ODI centuries, most by any Pakistani batsman so far. For years, he held the record of highest ODI score by an incredible innings of 194 runs against India in 1997.
London has granted conditional authorization to Merck’s coronavirus antiviral, the first pill shown to treat COVID-19 successfully. It is the first country to approve the treatment. However, it is still not clear how quickly the drug would be available.
The pill was licensed for adults 18 and older who have tested positive for COVID-19 and have at least one risk factor for developing severe disease. The patients need to take Molnupiravir twice a day for five days at home with mild to moderate COVID-19.
After promising trial results, the Medicines and Healthcare products Regulatory Agency (MHRA) has said it is safe and effective. The drug is intended to reduce the risk of hospital admission and death in people with mild to moderate COVID who are at extra risk from the virus.
Antiviral Drug
An antiviral drug that reduces symptoms and speeds recovery could prove groundbreaking. Meanwhile, easing caseloads on hospitals and helping to curb outbreaks in poorer countries with fragile health systems. It would also bolster the two-pronged approach to the pandemic: treatment, by way of medication, and prevention, primarily through vaccinations.
Health Secretary Sajid Javid said, “Today is a historic day for our country, as the UK is now the first country in the world to approve an antiviral that can be taken at home for COVID-19.”
“This will be a gamechanger for the most vulnerable and the immunosuppressed. Those who will soon be able to receive the groundbreaking treatment.”
He added: “We are working at pace across the government and with the NHS to set out plans to deploy molnupiravir to patients through a national study as soon as possible.”
Dr June Raine, MHRA chief executive, said the body is “satisfied” with molnupiravir being declared safe and effective for those at risk of developing severe COVID-19 disease and has granted its approval.
“Lagevrio (molnupiravir) is another therapeutic to add to our armoury against COVID-19,” she said. “It is also the world’s first approved antiviral for this disease that can be taken by mouth rather than administered intravenously. This is important, because it means it can be administered outside of a hospital setting.”
Supply And Delivery
Initial supplies will be limited. Merck has said it can produce 10 million treatment courses through the end of the year. However, much of that supply has already been purchased by governments worldwide. In October, UK officials announced they secured 480,000 courses of molnupiravir and expected thousands of vulnerable Britons to have access to the treatment this winter via a national study. Other countries, including Australia, Singapore and South Korea, have also made purchase agreements.

Mode Of Action Of Drug
The drug targets an enzyme the coronavirus uses to reproduce itself. It inserts errors into its genetic code that slows its ability to spread and take over human cells. That genetic activity has raised questions about whether the drug could cause mutations leading to congenital disabilities or tumours.
Merck announced preliminary results last month showing its drug cut hospitalizations and deaths by half among patients with early COVID-19 symptoms. Outside scientists have not yet vetted the results. The company also did not disclose details on molnupiravir’s side effects, except that rates of those problems were similar between people who got the drug and those who received dummy pills.

From celebrities putting their fashion game forward in embellished and traditional outfits to celebrating Diwali, many find a way to raise eyebrows. This year’s Diwali party was no different. Once again, celebrities and people from the fashion industry were spotted at the event in all their glory. While Zoya Nasir was also the guest in attendance, the influencer turned actress received severe backlash over her outfit.

Nuts are an amazing bite-sized superfood. They are a superfood because they are packed with enriching nutrients that battle several health issues and provide nourishment. All in one small bite! However, did you know they can help you lose weight too?
About Nuts
Nuts also contain a lot of healthy fats and proteins that are essential for your daily diet. The best part about them is how a little quantity can leave you feeling satiated in between your meals. However, we hear you! When you’re stuck on a weight plateau and not meeting your goals, eating nuts is often the last thing on your mind.
Moreover, many diets or dieticians also don’t allow the consumption of nuts. If you’re going through the same thing, keep reading.
Everything Is Good In Moderation
We say this because even though a handful of nuts every day is a good idea, deciding to go overboard with them to satiate your anxiety for reducing weight is not. If you are trying to shed the stubborn kilos making your life miserable, adding these tiny foods to your diet in moderation will help.
1. Walnuts
The first sort of nuts that can help you are none other than walnuts. They are known for their heart-healthy quotient and are the best support in losing weight. Walnuts are full of omega-6 fatty acid called linoleic acid, omega-3 fat alpha-linolenic acid (ALA) and other vitamins.

Plus, they are also exceptionally rich in antioxidants (hello good skin!). With all these benefits, walnuts also make you feel full for longer and lower the level of cholesterol.
2. Almonds
Almonds are also considered one of the healthiest snacking options. That is true when you are on a quest to lose weight and also when you want a sharper memory. They are an excellent source of protein and are loaded with antioxidants— getting fit with a snack is no longer a dream.

Did you also know that almonds also help to fight off the bad LDL cholesterol? Yes, you need almonds ASAP in your life.
3. Dates
We didn’t know this either but dates are considered a nut! It’s an age-old rule that if you crave something sweet in between mealtimes (which we always are), go for dates. Don’t reach out for that piece of chocolate unless it is dark chocolate.

They help you lose weight because they are full of iron and flush out the toxins. Moreover, since dates are packed with dietary fibre, you remain full for longer and stay away from unhealthy snacks.

You don’t need me to recount all the names of the Pakistani dramas that feature the concept of joint family system. Every other drama does so. And when a woman asks to move out, she is painted in a negative light.
Joint Family System
Let’s first tackle the concept of the joint family system. It is deeply embedded in our culture. No matter how much it leads to chaos between family members, one cannot even mention moving out. Even if you hate each other but you don’t move out, your family is termed as successful, thriving.
The problem is not this concept but the disjuncture in our mindsets. We belong to Pakistan, a country in the Asian subcontinent. Here, family, and consequently, joint family is prioritized. But the Muslim Pakistanis very confidently boast that Pakistan is based on Islam. Hence, as Pakistanis, we are unable to align our cultural values with that of Islamic values.
Why do I say this?
Verified islamic scholars are of the unanimous opinion that married women have the utmost right to ask for a separate accommodation.
Sheikh Salih Al-Munajjid states: “He (her husband) does not have the right to make her eat with any of her in-laws.”
Yet, most parents misconstrue another of Islamic teachings, and disregard the above one. They say that children have to ‘obey’ the parents. And moving to a separate household will be disobeying them.
Pakistani dramas
This is what our Pakistani dramas have been portraying in their stories since time immemorial. Shehnai features Ramsha Khan, Affan Waheed, and Zainab Qayyum among others. This one, too, romanticizes and glorifies the idea of joint family system.
ZQ plays the role of a daughter-in-law whose life long dream has been, a separate household. But no one lets her get it. Her wish gets her the labelled as one of the antagonists in the story.
Breaking the family
The notion of joint family is so inherent in us that rare horror dramas even (Neeli Zinda Hai), get the kickstart from this fight. Even though, in the drama it is the husband who wants to live in a separate house with his wife, his mother blames the wife for ‘breaking the family’.
It is high time we learnt that the geographical location doesn’t define how strong or how broken you are. Instead of justifying your need of controlling your sons through their obedience, consider how badly would it affect your importance in their eyes.
It’s a thought, but do you agree? Do you agree that it is time Pakistani dramas stopped romanticizing and normalising joint family systems? One cannot deny the influence of Pakistani dramas on our society. If the drama creators realised it, maybe, just maybe, a lot of chaos in our society would get eliminated.

Samsung has not only been one of the most popular brands, but it has also been one of the most impressive ones. Despite the pandemic raging through the world, many products have been released and much has been seen. The company has managed to persevere through tough times, including the global chip shortage. The chip shortage is still ongoing but there are alternate routes that companies are taking. All this talk about Samsung leads us to inform you that a leak has taken place. Of course, we know that leaks are often ways to get the hype up about a product.
Here, the leak is regarding the upcoming Samsung Galaxy S22 Ultra. A lot of rumors had been going around regarding this device, for a while now. No matter if you are a fan of the s-series or the note-series, you are sure to love this one. According to sources, the design of the Samsung S22 Ultra has been leaked and there is quite a lot to see there. It seems that, partially, the phone is going back to a previously appreciated design.

Samsung S22 Ultra Leaks
This smartphone was not expected to be revealed for quite a few months. However, this leak, by FrontPageTech, has accelerated that timeline. Instead of waiting for the official release, many people have gotten to see the leak and how the phone itself looks like. From the photos that are circulating online, the Samsung S22 Ultra has a curved display as well as flat edges. This is following a design that is cheaper to make and less prone to fall damage. Additionally, there is a built-in S-pen with the phone too.
All of this points towards an inevitable note series design. The company is, surely, making this phone out to be one of the note series. It may be called S22 Ultra but the leak proves that the design is based on the Samsung Note series. As you recall, the Note series has been one of the most successful ones of the brand. There is no doubt that this phone is going to cause quite a lot of hype when it’s finally released.
According to the source of the leak, the phone houses a total of five cameras. Four of these are on the back and one of them is at the front. As older leaks have suggested, the primary one is going to be set at 108mp, with a 12mp ultra-wide and dual telephoto lens. The camera arrangement itself is the same as the S21 Ultra. However, in every other sense, the phone is more a successor to the previous note phone than the S-series phone.
The official release date of the device, however, is still expected to be around February or March 2022. It is going to be released alongside the S22 and S22 plus. We have much to see when that happens but let us bask in the light of this leak right now. It seems like quite an impressive smartphone and we are awaiting more details on the specs.
