Recently, VJ-turned-actor Salman Saqib Shaikh, known as Mani, took to his Instagram account and shared an insensitive meme on #Metoo movement and its founder Tarana Burker.

His meme left many people in utter shock and now it has sparked a social media outrage. Many called out the host for his insensitivity on the subject and how problematic his stance really is.

He shared the picture of Tarana Burke with the quote:

The post is now deleted by Mani who claims that it was his PR guy who had upload the post on his Instagram.

Posting an apology, Mani stated:

Well, this was undoubtedly was something insensitive which sparked both empathy and anger online.

Last week, Saudi Arabia decided to waive 2,000 riyals tax on Pakistani pilgrims performing Umrah every year. Now in yet another move, the nation has decided to provide relief in visa fee for Pakistani workers.

Seemingly, Prime Minister Imran Khan’s visit to Saudi Arabia has resulted in significant understandings between Pakistan and Saudi Arabia.

Umrah Tax on Pakistanis Comes to an End

According to The News, Prime Minister Imran Khan had suggested to the Saudi Crown Prince Mohammad Bin Salman to reduce work visa fee.

The request was well-received by the Crown Prince and he agreed to provide relaxation to Pakistani workers in visa fee.

This initiative is a progressive step to aid the Pakistani workforce in Saudi Arabia and improves travel between both nations.

A loan of $6 Billion for Pakistan

Saudi Arabia will be granting a loan of $3 billion for one year as the balance of payment support. It will also provide a $3 Billion one-year deferred payment facility for oil payments.

“A MoU was signed between the Finance Minister Asad Umar and the Saudi Finance Minister Muhammad Abdullah Al-Jadaan. It was agreed Saudi Arabia will place a deposit of USD 3 Billion for a period of one year as a balance of payment support.”

It was furthur agreed that a one-year deferred payment facility for import of oil, up to USD 3 Billion, will be provided by Saudi Arabia”

This arrangement will be in place for three years, which will be reviewed thereafter.

People blamed Nida Yasir for not being a responsible host towards Ahmed.

Twitterati now wants her show to be banned immediately.

Many did not find the content humorous, which was apparently the aim of the episode.

Could Samsung be Planning a Notch-Less & Bezel-Less Future?

Samsung, one of the world’s biggest smartphone manufacturers is also known for having a reputation for mocking smartphone notches.

Recalling its purpose, the notch houses camera lenses, speakers, and a variety of sensors.

However, the brand came under the limelight for being so unaesthetic that some Pixel 3 users have been digging into their phones’ user settings to hide the notch completely by implementing a screen-wide black bar.

It looks like Samsung wants to avoid the notch and a black bar after what Ice Universe revealed was on show at the incredibly private 2018 Samsung OLED Forum at the Shenzhen Marriott Hotel in China with about 20 business partners present, according to Forbes.

During a PowerPoint presentation, the company revealed four new technologies that will drive their smartphone development over the upcoming year: FoD (fingerprint sensing tech under the display), UPS (under-the-screen sensor tech), HoD (touch-sensitive tech), and SoD (“screen sound tech”).

Since the FoD and SoD tech already exists on the market and HoD tech isn’t exactly novel, the key innovation here is that UPS tech. That right there is what will bring us a notch-less AND bezel-less screen that is, basically, the display of our dreams that has been just out of reach of today’s tech.

Needless to say, this would be a breakthrough for the smartphone market. There’s no word yet on the public release of such an innovation or the launch of the long-awaited folding Galaxy F. Perhaps, both will be arriving soon, maybe even together. Is this the end of smartphone displays as we know it? As Samsung said themselves.

Vehicle owners in Karachi, who have not paid their taxes, now have to face the consequences. A crackdown has started against non-tax payers across the city.

A total of eleven teams have been dispatched to 38 locations on a hunt for offenders who will be answerable to the excise and taxation department accompanied by traffic police.

Their checkpoints have been set up in different areas including MA Jinnah Road (Quaid’s mausoleum), Shahrah-e-Quaideen, Muslimabad, Shaheen Complex, Keamari, Clifton, Bath Island and PIDC.

Vehicles caught will be sent to the impound and owners will have to pay the full amount they owe to get their vehicle back. Documents will vouch for drivers to show whether or not taxes have been paid.

The Motor Vehicle Tax is levied under Sindh Motor Vehicle Taxation Act, 1958 and Motor Vehicle Rules, 1959.

The registration of vehicles is being effected through a computerized system and tax is also collected through 12 designated National Bank branches, linked with Civic Centre Karachi.

The Computer System of Civic Centre Karachi is also linked with the regional Directorates, Excise & Taxation at Hyderabad, Sukkur, Larkana and Mirpurkhas.

Ko Ko Korina’s rendition by Coke Studio has become the talk of the town. Few have loved it, most have hated it and are leaving no stone unturned to bash the singers for ruining the evergreen classic.

Stars and critics too did not shy away to bash Ahad Raza Mir and Momina Mustehsan for the remix-gone-horribly-wrong.

But perhaps, the fiercest feedback of all was by Federal Minister for Human Rights, Shireen Mazari.

Calling it a massacre of music, the PTI politician roasted the Coke Studio for the fail!

Her views clearly irked Momina who took to Twitter to blast Mazari with full force.

The clash escalated with the Minister responding back in a defensive tweet.

But her reply did not settle well with Momina who made it her mission to school Shireen Mazari.

The volleyball of verbal attacks continued with the PTI politician making it clear again that it was her personal choice to like or hate a tune.

But the Coke Studio sensation took it further by calling Shireen’s opinion close to ‘cyber-bullying’

This catfight seems to have ended with the politician now clearly ignoring Momina. But her daughter Imaan took the task to hit back at the songstress.

Addressing Shireen Mazari, Ahad requested her to use the better choice of words next time!

In the end, he urged everybody to respect artists and spread more love!

Taking to Instagram, the Yakeen ka Safar starlet urged everybody to stop insulting the singers and the song!

Inspector General of Police (IGP) Dr. Syed Kaleem Imam has ordered the police to make diligent security arrangements for the three-day Urs celebrations of Sufi Saint Shah Abdul Latif Bhittai.

Further security measures will also be strengthened for mosques, Imam Bargahs, shrines, religious places of minorities, public places, important public and private buildings, and offices.

Shah Abdul Latif Bhittai is the most revered Sindhi scholar, mystic, saint, and poet. He is lauded as the greatest Sufi poet of the Sindhi language. His poetic collections have been assembled in the compilation Shah Jo Risalo that have been translated into English, Urdu, and other languages.
