McDonald’s Has Made a Major Announcement About its Classic Burgers
McDonald’s USA has made a major announcement that will be welcomed by fans of the eatery worldwide.
The brand’s iconic burgers, including the Big Mac and the Quarter Pounder with Cheese, no longer have artificial preservatives, artificial flavors or added colors from artificial sources.
McDonald’s Rolling Out the Red Carpet With its Open Door Program
The company’s statement said that the changes are going into effect in all 14,000 US restaurants.
It’s a big attempt for McDonald’s — oft-vilified as a champion of junk food — to attract or retain customers concerned about their diets.
“From switching to 100 percent fresh beef in our quarter-pound burgers, cooked right when ordered, to removing artificial preservatives in our Chicken McNuggets, and committing to cage-free eggs by 2025, we have made significant strides in evolving the quality of our food,” said Chris Kempczinski, the company’s USA president.
As of now, almost two-thirds of the company’s burgers and sandwiches are free of artificial products, which were removed from the company’s cheese slices, Big Mac special sauce and several types of buns.
The move is a response to a growing trend of health-consciousness in the United States, particularly attuned to organic products as well as increased concern for product origin and quality.
It’s also a way to meet competition from trendy burgers like Five Guys, which emphasizes freshness, or more traditional beef patties like Wendy’s, which boasts the slogan “always fresh, never frozen.”
Such moves are not easy to implement in the United States, where McDonald’s is generally one of few restaurants accessible to lower-class populations, with price factor often taking precedence over quality.

Bushra Bibi’s Interview With Hum News: First Lady Shuts Down Trolls on TV
Facebook is Using Your Phone Numbers to Target Ads
Facebook has now confirmed that advertisers had access to phone members given by the users of the website while entering it for the security of their profiles
A study by two US universities, first reported by news website Gizmodo, found that phone numbers given to Facebook for two-factor authentication were also used to target advertising.
Two-factor authentication is intended to enhance security by requiring a second step, such as entering codes sent via text messages, as well as passwords to get into accounts.
Phone numbers added to profiles, for security purposes, or for messaging were potential fodder for advertisers, according to the study.
“These findings hold despite all the relevant privacy controls on our test accounts being set to their most private settings,” researchers said in the study, which looked at ways advertisers can get personally identifying information (PII) from Facebook or its WhatsApp and Messenger services.
Contact lists uploaded to Facebook platforms could be mined for personal information, meaning that people could unintentionally help advertisers target their friends.
“Most worrisome, we found that phone numbers uploaded as part of syncing contacts — that were never owned by a user and never listed on their account – were in fact used to enable PII-based advertising,” researchers said in the study.
The study supported concerns that Facebook uses “shadow” sources of data not given to the social network for the purpose of sharing to make money on advertising.
“We use the information people provide to offer a better, more personalized experience on Facebook, including ads,” a spokeswoman said in response to an AFP inquiry about the study findings.
“We are clear about how we use the information we collect, including the contact information that people upload or add to their own accounts.”
Facebook is grappling with the worst crisis in its history, vilified for not more zealously guarding the information that users share.
The Silicon Valley-based internet colossus faced intense global scrutiny over the mass harvesting of personal data by Cambridge Analytica, a British political consultancy that worked for Donald Trump’s 2016 election campaign.
The company has admitted up to 87 million users may have had their data hijacked in the scandal.

India-Pakistan Superfan Friends Prove Cricket ‘Has No Boundaries’
India and Pakistan’s goverments and cricketboards might not be ready for talks, however, this has not stopped Mohammad Basheer from going an extra mile for his friend Sudhir Kumar.
The 37-year-old Kumar has travelled all over the world supporting India but was resigned to missing the Asia Cup 2018 tournament in the UAE after his childhood hero and sponsor Sachin Tendulkar could not be reached in London.
“I called Kumar to ask when he is coming to Dubai for the Asia Cup. But I found him a bit disheartened because of no sponsorship, so I paid for his ticket and stay in Dubai,” added the Chicago-based Pakistani.
Basheer’s kind gesture brought the two together, sharing a room in India’s team hotel in Dubai.
Unfortunately for Basheer, his gesture meant also that Kumar twice saw India beat Pakistan in the group stages of the regional six-team showpiece.
And although Pakistan missed out on Friday’s final after losing to Bangladesh on Wednesday night, Kumar will be there to support India against the Tigers, as will his old friend from across the border.
Kumar first encountered Basheer during the 2011 World Cup on the sub-continent. The pair became firm friends and have been getting together at India-Pakistan matches ever since.
“I owe this tour to Basheer who has shown that friendship has no boundaries. We pull each other’s legs during the matches but at the end of the day cricket brings people of the two nations closer.” -Kumar
Cricket’s fiercest rivalry charges up fans from Kolkata to Karachi and millions from all over the world.
Basheer said nothing compares to an India-Pakistan match and admitted to slightly split loyalties.
“My wife is from Hyderabad Deccan in India, so I support India because of my wife and Mahendra Singh Dhoni and Pakistan because it is my country of birth,” -Basheer,
Basheer runs a restaurant in Chicago famous for Biryani — a spicy rice dish popular on both sides of the border.
Dhoni, the former Indian captain who still stars as a wicketkeeper-batsman in the one-day side, often gives Basheer match tickets.
Kumar said he was happy to remain a bachelor because he was already “married to cricket.”
“Every time my elders ask me to marry I run away from home for cricket. I have left various jobs to satiate my thirst for the game, which is my life and wife.”
When India won the 2011 World Cup, Kumar was invited to the dressing room to have a picture with the trophy — his greatest honour.
– Pakistan on a bike –
Kumar has seen India play in 64 Tests, more than 300 one-day internationals and 72 Twenty20 internationals, but said his most memorable tour was to Pakistan in 2006.
“I can’t forget the Pakistan tour for the love and following I received,” said Kumar, who spends hours decorating his head and body with enamel paint and carries an Indian flag to every venue.
“I went through various hassles to get a visa for Pakistan and when I reached Wagah on a bicycle they initially did not allow me to cross the border but somehow I managed.”
Basheer too gets a warm reception every time he tours India, the last being in 2016 for the World Twenty20.
“People-to-people love exists, no matter what happens at the top level,” said Basheer.
India suspending cricket ties with Pakistan in the wake of 2008 Mumbai attacks hurt both Basheer and Kumar.
“India and Pakistan not playing each other in their countries is sad and I always pray that relations get back to normal so that we can play each other,” said Basheer, who can sing a great repertoire of Bollywood songs.
Kumar hopes cricketer-turned-politician Imran Khan’s elevation to Prime Minister of Pakistan will pave way for a revival in relations at a sporting level.
“I have high hopes with Imran,” said Kumar. “I await the day when we play each other in their country … that day will come.”

According to a Japanese publication, the brand is currently working on introducing the second-gen model at a fast pace due to the competition the Honda Vezel Sport will receive from its rival Toyota’s C-HR, expected to launch in second-half of 2019.
Honda Vezel Sport Speculated Launch Date
The Vezel is expected to launch in December 2019.
Choosing the ‘perfect’ car can be difficult! Especially when the cars are very similar to one another like the Honda Vezel or HR-V.
Well, if you wanted to buy the car, then you may want to check out the leaked image of the crossover’s new look.

The Honda Vezel was launched by the company back in 2013-14. The new crossover is a facelift variant of the car, giving it a fresh look, which was needed sooner or later. Even the Vezel and HR-V are more or less the same thing with different powertrains.

The image seems to be taken from a Japanese brochure (magazine) or newspaper.
Looking at the image, we can observe that there are minor aesthetical updates and the vehicle is similar to Honda’s current line of vehicles; the Accord and Civic.
There’s a thick chrome strip going horizontally at the front end is similar to many other Honda vehicles. The black grill, as well as the shape of the front bumper, has also been updated, as the grill is wider, deeper and more pronounced.
That’s not all, the black accents that hold the fog lamps have become bolder and kind-of squarish while the previous ones were comparatively narrow and sleek. The slot in the bumper itself between those fog lamp housings has become wider and also angular. The front splitter has also been redesigned. And you now get a full LED headlights as well.
There is no confirmation when the facelift will be launched in Pakistan.

According to NADRA, the authority has blocked Khan’s nationality (CNIC) as he is an Afghan citizen.
However, another development which came forward from Rashid Khan’s former coach, Ali Hoti, also shed light that Khan owns a property in Landi Kotal tehsil of Khyber district as well.
Listen to Ali Hoti’s Statement Below:

Huawei Launches AI Powered Nova 3 Series in Pakistan
Technology giant Huawei, the world’s second largest Smartphone manufacturer has recently launched the new Nova 3 series, which feature two innovative handsets the Nova 3 and Nova 3i.
This time around, the brand has gone an extra mile by introducing advanced artificial intelligence (AI) features for both handsets. The phones are equipped with quad-cameras for excellent AI detection and amazing results.
At the launch event, Manager, Huawei Consumer Business Group, Blueking Wang commented :
OUR RESEARCH ON CONSUMER REQUirements in Pakistan showed that the users need a phone which has a huge memory to store maximum multimedia content. So, keeping this in mind we have increased the memory up to 128GB – a first for a phone at this price point – and that this model is now being considered to be introduced in developing countries.
The global Chinese brand closed Q2 2018 with 22.2% market share – at the second position in terms of volume. Blueking Wang added that the Nova 3 series is a benchmark for the brand itself as it is offering the best of AI tech at an affordable price.
“It has more scenarios than any other Huawei phones for creating better photos. The selfies come exceptionally well by only treating the face and keeping the background intact. And this is not possible without AI”
Kirin 970 Chip in a Mid-Ranger
Indeed it came as a sweet surprise when Huawei announced that the processor embedded in the Nova 3 series is the 970 chip, which is used in their flagship. Considering that the series is a mid-range costing somewhere between 40-60k, we wonder how can it be cost effective for the brand itself.
Blueking shared that the tech-giant has conducted extensive research, and developed and manufactured the chip on their own, thus, it is easier for the brand to determine whether the introduction of it to a mid-ranged set is cost effective or not.
According to Blueking:
“We are bringing flagship level qualities to our lower phones so that more and more people could experience AI”
Advanced AI-Powered Cameras
Deemed as the ‘AI Selfie Superstar’, both the smartphones, Nova 3 and Nova 3i are equipped with dual Al-enabled 24MP+2MP front cameras. HDR Pro feature controls exposure at the hardware level to ensure precision-balanced photographs even in direct sunlight.
The Nova 3 is geared with dual 24MP+16MP Al-powered rear cameras and the Nova 3i has dual 16MP+ 2MP Al-powered rear cameras. All 4 rear cameras recognise 22 categories to provide optimised results.
Huawei Nova 3 Series – Performance at its Best
When it comes to performance, Huawei has packed both the smartphones with Kirin 970 (Nova 3) SoC and Kirin 710 (Nova 3i) AI Processor along with 4GB RAM which runs on EMIU 8.2 which allows the sets to deliver flagship like performance.
Always a Qmoji for Every Event
Android users can also enjoy AI with the introduction of 3D Qmoji. These features allow users to animate their favourite emoji with their most loved facial expressions, movements, or voice to add a touch of their own personality to the avatar.
Enhanced Gaming Experience with AI
Can you imagine how the world of gaming has changed for all smartphone users around the world? Combined with the GPU Turbo technology, the AI Game Suite is all you need to enjoy. The transition from 4G to Wi-Fi is seamless even throughout network delays.
Long-Lasting Battery
Huawei Nova 3 is equipped with a long-lasting 3750 mAh battery, whereas Nova 3i boasts a 3340 mAh battery.
Colour Variants
The HUAWEI nova 3 is available in three colours, Iris Purple, Airy Blue and Black. The HUAWEI nova 3i will replace the Airy Blue with Pearl White and keep the other two colours.

Sharmeen Obaid-Chinoy Launches Second Animated Short Film From Aagahi
“AAGAHI” a series of 14 short animated films produced by SOC Films is set to introduce a second animated short on 25th September 2018.
The AAGAHI or awareness film series has been made to educate women about their legal rights in Pakistan. The first was launched on the 1st of September educating women on how to file for an FIR.
The second episode will focus on educating women about Domestic Violence and how and where to seek protection.
This specific episode has been divided into a series of two parts; the first of which explains what domestic violence is and how to identify different forms of abuse included in domestic violence such as physical, sexual, psychological, and economic abuse. The second part informs viewers on how to seek protection against domestic violence. It educates women on the various steps one can take to protect themselves: filing an FIR, seeking a protection order, visiting a medico-legal center at a government hospital, or seeking refuge at a shelter if needed. The video also shares contact information of various helplines, counseling services, shelters, and legal support services available to survivors of domestic violence in Pakistan.
Each short-film has been conceptualized, produced and directed by SOC Films and is between 2 to 3 minutes long and will cover the law, its interpretation, and the safety that it provides to the victim. This will also include the legislation, as stated in the Pakistan Penal Code, and the various case laws, which have been passed or revised in the recent years.
One of Pakistan’s leading actresses, Aamina Sheikh has lent her voice for the series, which is also being shared free of cost with all news and media channels for dissemination across the country.

Apple Finally Acquires Shazam
In its latest move, Apple has now completed its Shazam acquisition.
The music application is one the world’s most popular and highly-rated music apps. What’s more, the tech giant has announced its plan to the service completely ad-free.
Shazam — which works by allowing users to identify songs simply by listening to the music playing around them — is currently used by hundreds of millions of people worldwide but has to-date operated with ads sporadically interrupting service.
Apple aims to change all that – and fast.
Commenting on the acquisition via an official statement earlier today, Apple confirmed that it will soon offer its experience ad-free for all users and said that the takeover was a match made in music heaven.
Oliver Schusser, Apple’s vice president of Apple Music stated:
“Apple and Shazam have a long history together. Shazam was one of the first apps available when we launched the App Store and has become a favorite app for music fans everywhere,”
“With a shared love of music and innovation, we are thrilled to bring our teams together to provide users even more great ways to discover, experience and enjoy music.”
A success since its launch, Shazam has now been downloaded over 1 billion times around the world, and users identify songs using the Shazam app over 20 million times each day. Its acquisition by Apple is reported to have been to the tune of an estimated US $400 million.
