Expectations may be high for the upcoming Samsung Galaxy S22, but for CES 2022, it’s the long-rumoured Galaxy S21 FE that’s making its debut. Most affordable of the S21 family, the new Android 12 phone starts at under $700 yet still manages to keep most of what makes its flagship siblings feel special. The phone was originally expected to launch in the Summer of 2021, but for various reasons, Samsung was forced to delay the announcement.

The Galaxy S21 FE retains the look and feel of the rest of the Galaxy S21 lineup. This includes the design of the camera hump on the back, along with the hole-punch selfie camera at the top of the display.

To help differentiate the S21 FE from the rest of the lineup, Samsung is offering a couple of different colours. In addition to the black and white options, we also now have lavender and olive green to choose from, which match up with the colours found on the Galaxy Buds 2.

The rear panel is plastic rather than glass; only the display gets Gorilla Glass Victus. The edges around that Contour Cut camera section feel a little less crisp than those on, say, a Galaxy S21 Ultra. A little like, well, moulded polycarbonate. Still, it’s IP68 water and dust-resistant.

At 7.9 mm thick and 177 grams, it’s reasonably slim and lightweight. Samsung has packed in a 4,500 mAh battery, too, bigger than the regular S21’s 4,000 mAh but smaller than the S21+’s 4,800 mAh. You still get fast wired (25W) and wireless (15W) charging, however, along with Wireless PowerShare.

We’ll have to wait until we can get our hands on the Galaxy S21 FE to see how it stacks up against the competition. But it looks like Samsung has another big winner on its hands, kicking off 2022 on the right foot.

The Samsung Galaxy S21 FE will go on sale on January 11 through Samsung.com and all major service providers in North America and Europe.

Coeus Solutions Ltd Announces Software Testing Business Unit

To set this up, Coeus also announced an investment of Rs. 100 million over next 3 years into the business unit. The investment will be used to set up people operations, including Software Test Engineers, Sales, and Partnerships.

“Over the last 5 years, we have had a lot of requests from our German as well as international customers on penetration testing, security testing and other software testing services and until now we have been outsourcing this”, Ahsan Naseem, CEO of Coeus Solutions Ltd said, “Moving into 2022, we decided to setup our own dedicated Software Testing Business Unit as our team already consists of many well respected industry veterans.”

Software Testing exceeded USD 40 Billion in 2020 and is expected to grow at 7% CAGR until 2027. This is also expedited by the increased focus on privacy initiatives, ensuring proper privacy by design guidelines, as well as the proper following of GDPR rules. Other than this, the security testing market, in particular, is growing by over 25% CAGR in the next seven years.

“Having an in-house Software Testing Business Unit makes sense also from both our M&A strategy as well as focus on remote work platform, WorkHub.ai. We believe moving forward, all companies will require dedicated third party testing audits.” Ahsan Naseem added. “The business unit is meant to serve not only our internal customers, but also will be offered as a full fledged service to over 800 of our customers and partners”.

Coeus Solutions, with their consultants KASB Securities, is on track to list on Karachi Stock Exchange in Q1 2022. This is scheduled to be the first tech listing on the GEM board and has already generated a lot of interest from local and international investors.

Just recently, shares of Apple Inc. rose enough to take the company’s market value into another realm altogether, the realm of the trillions. It has officially become the first company to achieve this feat and here’s all you need to know to put this into perspective.

What Triggered It?

Shares of Apple Inc. rose 3 percent yesterday and settled at $182.88. As a result, its market cap, an indicator of the size of the company and its profits, rose to trillions. This rise secured the iPhone company’s status as the first publicly-traded company on the planet to cross into trillions.

If you’re unsure of what “Trillions” can mean, here’s something to make sense of it. Apple’s total value now – $3 trillion – surpasses the GDPs of six of the world’s top 10 economies. That means, the United Kingdom, India, France, Italy, Canada and South Korea all fall behind the company’s value.

Apple’s Growth Recently

Apple’s rise in these few years has been remarkable. Not only has its products garnered higher demand but they have managed to do that with sky-high prices. That just shows how inelastic the demand for its products is. It crossed its first trillion in August 2018. Thereafter, it took it two years to get to the second trillion mark. This time around, it took it barely 17 months to grow another entire trillion in value.

Here’s another fact so you can put this into context. Shares of Apple Inc. have risen 5800 percent since 2007 when the first product was revealed.

The $3 trillion milestone may be huge but its power is mainly symbolic. Many companies have given Apple tough competition and have overall performed better. Transforming Match Viewing Experience For Cricket Fans

International cricket is slowly but surely returning to Pakistan. With an exciting calendar set for the next year, featuring teams like Australia and New Zealand, cricket lovers across the country are starting to get their share of cricket on home turf after more than a decade.

Recently, the West Indies cricket team visited Pakistan for a series of T20s played in Karachi. Ever since PSL matches began in Pakistan, we have gotten a taste of what it feels like to watch internationally acclaimed players perform. However, the opportunities for a proper match against a mainstream team from a leading cricket-playing nation remained limited. So naturally, when it was announced that West Indies would be visiting Pakistan, this was a chance which I was not willing to let go of.

In addition to the reservations that teams had in the past for coming to Pakistan, COVID presented the world with a unique challenge as well. However, one amazing transformation to come out of the pandemic was the digitization that accelerated as a result. Buying tickets digitally was something that I didn’t think I would experience in Pakistan. But to my surprise for this series, I went to the Bookme app and was able to purchase a ticket for the Quaid e Azam enclosure which was given a fresher look thanks to Easypaisa. I had no idea that this process existed but the brand had gone all out to promote it through social media influencers.

The process of buying the ticket was simple and took me less than 2 minutes. I just selected the date of the match I wanted to see, picked out the seats I liked, and went on to pay through Easypaisa. I even received a cashback of 100 Rupees on my purchase and honestly, who doesn’t love a discount.

Now, with tickets in hand, all I had to do was to excitedly wait for the day of the match. And boy, what an experience it was! First of all, credit where it’s due, and I would like to say kudos to Easypaisa for rejuvenating the look of the enclosure and overall experience of the match altogether. From the parking, we were taken right to the gate of the enclosure by a shuttle. The waiting area and entrance were made vibrant with creative visuals.

I appreciated the attention to detail as placards were placed on each seat. A T20 match is all about big hits that draw huge cheers from the crowd and a simple thing like this poster can not only let you express your emotions much better but also creates an amazing aesthetic. I was even able to use the cashback I got earlier for buying snacks during the match at cashless stalls powered by Easypaisa.

The food vendors were QR code enabled allowing contactless transactions which for me was an amazing experience having witnessed cashless payments abroad and longing for them in Pakistan. Easypaisa had cash-in retailers at the stadium too which people could ultimately use to avail a 50% cashback on transactions performed through the app. The discounts are in my opinion a great way to attract more people towards digital payments.

Besides watching your favourite players live, in this day and age, being able to interact with your favourite content creators is another benefit of events like these. I was hoping that Junaid Akram would be there but he either wasn’t there or I couldn’t find him. However, Ukhano was there and I was able to grab a selfie with him as he was documenting his experience of watching the match. What’s more, the Quaid e Azam enclosure had free WiFi for all those stories and posts that I needed to make on social media.

Overall, it was a fascinating experience and worth all the hype. For many years, we have longed to witness international players and teams play on our home soil. Unfortunately, this wasn’t possible but now that things are returning to normalcy, our passion and hunger for the game of cricket are getting the fulfillment that we desire, thanks to PCB and partner brands.

Nishat linen is under fire for selling a set of earrings for PKR 2000+. The Pakistani brand known for its delicate designs and prints has officially lost it in the name of fashion. Not to mention the lack of creativity which is unacceptable when it comes to expensive brands.

Nishat linens’ jewellery line is selling a set of earrings for PKR 2000. What comes to mind when you read this? “The brand must be selling a pair of delicate earrings adorned with Swarovski’s.” Or “The earning set must be worth the money and design.”

However, it is neither of the above. What the brand is selling is a pair of safety pins hooked onto the stud. Creativity has gone down the drain and the mere exploitation seems even ridiculous.

After this news had circled to quite an extent on the internet, an official statement was made by the social media platform representative. According to them, there was no such update that was being worked on by WhatsApp. Thus, after much of the news roaming around, it turned out to be a false piece. This shows us that we should always read, anything on the internet, with the utmost care. We cannot believe in everything because it might be false.

More and more such news is roaming about the internet every day and we have to be extremely cautious. NCOC Rolls Out Booster Shot And Additional Vaccine Interim Guidelines

The schedule and the whole rules and regulations for additional vaccines and booster shots have been released by the government in a report. The report details eligibility criteria, administration of the doses and other technical guidelines! Here’s all you need to know:

What Is The Context?

Many citizens get the vaccines their country was providing while many countries demand that another brand of vaccine’s evidence be shown. In this case, Pakistan has started providing additional doses of vaccines. Moreover, as booster shots’ need increases due to Omicron, the country is in the process of protecting its citizens.

Who Is Eligible?

International travellers of age 12 and above can be eligible for additional doses if the country they are travelling to requires another vaccine in the following conditions:

If they are travelling for work
If they are a student
They are a resident of the said country
People performing for Hajj/Umrah
Workforce
Tourists

The Vaccine Administration Cardinals

The additional vaccine will be administered at all public sector health facilities only, not at any private. Moreover, booster shots will only be administered at the dedicated CVCs created in all the provinces for them. It will cost Rs.1270 per dose and the amount will be paid to NBP as stipulated by the centre.

Procedure for Booster Dose

First, the money will be deposited. Then you will be required to take the deposit slip to a CVC centre and show them with documents that prove your eligibility. The dose will then be administered to you. The age-appropriate vaccine will be given to the person then and documents will be verified. Additionally, records will be maintained on NIMS.

The certificate can be obtained just like the certificate for previous doses was received!

Booster Dose CVCs

A total of 21 dedicated CVCs will be established in 17 major cities across Pakistan. Other COVID-19 vaccines will be administered in these CVCs also. Here is the information on those CVCs:

Before you get the vaccine, your record will be checked on the NIMS Vaccinator account. The “administer booster shot” will only be available on vaccinated accounts. Thereafter, your booster shot or additional vaccine will be administered to you.
