New Advertising Rates for Pakistani News Channels Proposed

Pakistan has witnessed many changes, be it at a lower level or a drastic level ever since Prime Minister Imran Khan and his political party- Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaaf took over. One of these changes includes the reconsideration of rates for campaigns on Television.

According to the latest tweet by Federal Minister of Information Fawad Chaudhary has shared that the government has revised the rates for television ads for campaigns and public service messages.

The tweet reads:

The Govt of Pakistan after due deliberation and considering the rates charges by Pvt Channels has evaluated the new rates which are fair & reasonable for release of Public Sector Ads/campaigns.

Talking to Karwan-e-Mohabbat against mob violence in India and minority rights, the veteran actor expressed his fear for the well-being of his family in light of the religious intolerance brewing up in his homeland.

He boldly stated:

“I feel anxious for my children because tomorrow if a mob surrounds them and asks, ‘Are you a Hindu or a Muslim?’ they will have no answer. It worries me that I don’t see the situation improving anytime soon”

Recently, the Janaan actor Ali Rehman Khan spoke out on the issue in a unique way and the internet could not stop lauding his act.

The actor appeared in Geo Pakistan show where he explained that we should not encourage the evil social practice of our society.

However, two more Pakistani actors, Iqra Aziz and Yasir Hussain, have recently joined Ali Rahman and started a campaign against dowry in collaboration with UN Women Pakistan.

Something of this proportion has never and I mean never been filmed in Pakistan.

The fight sequences are amazing. The Gladiator kind of arena, the bulked up bodies of all leading men and Shafqat Cheema make you fall in love with Pakistani men all over again.

The hunks Fawad Khan, Hamza Ali Abbasi and Gohar Rasheed come out as handsome as they get. Hamza looks menacing as Noori Naath and same goes for the dreamy Fawad Khan.

One look at Fawad is enough to prove that ‘Good things come to those who wait’ and the wait for Fawad Khan’s return to films has been endless in Pakistan.

He last had a meaningful role in Khuda Kay Liye that came out in 2007 and since then he hasn’t worked in a Pakistani film except for cameo appearances in Karachi Se Lahore, Ho Mann Jahaan and Jawani Phir Nahi Ani 2.

Hamza Ali Abbasi has been a film regular but the way he has developed his body into a fighting machine is commendable; we need actors who can transform through their roles and Hamza is certainly one of them. His last film Parwaaz Hai Junoon did phenomenal business in Pakistan and abroad and one hopes that Maula Jatt overtakes that.

Meanwhile, both the females look just wow and they have been filmed beautifully by Bilal Lashari. It is hard to choose who looks sexier because in one scene Mahira wins the competition while in the other all fade away in comparison to Humaima.

Before going to Bollywood for Raja Natwarlal and Raees respectively, they both started their careers with Shoaib Mansoor’s Bol with Humaima playing the lead role of the eldest sister and Mahira being one of the younger ones.

One must commend their new-look which breathes a new life into their careers especially in Humaima’s who hardly appeared in 2 films since her powerful debut.

Islamabad National University: Prime Minister House Transformed as Promised!

Prime Minister Imran Khan has fulfilled another promise-  he has indeed converted the PM House into Islamabad National University.

An inauguration ceremony was held on Friday at the Prime Minister House for converting the lavish building into a learning institute. The launching conference was named ‘Emerging Challenges for Pakistan’.

Islamabad National University will be set up on 30 acres of land and will offer MS and Ph.D. programs in the field of social sciences, applied sciences and applied technology. INU will not offer undergraduate programs.

Winter Vacations 2018 in Sindh Schools Announced

The conversion of Prime Minister House into a university was a part of PTI’s manifesto even before the government was formed. Previously, the government opened the doors of the Governor House and PM House for the public.

Proving that he is the man of his words, PM Imran Khan said that all the symbols of colonial mindset will be broken while addressing the public during the ceremony.

He said:

We are making the masses aware of their rights so that they question rulers about their tax money.

PM Imran Khan added:

Education is the top priority of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf government and enough funds are being made available for higher education in the country.

Higher Education Commission Chairman, Dr. Tariq Banori told media that a research institute will be formed initially, following the construction of Islamabad National University in the second phase.

With aims to construct the country’s high-quality research university, INU will acquire 30-acres land from the polo ground, stables and mountains in the second phase which will be further given the status of a university. Toyota Corolla 2018 Recalled Over Massive Fault!

Toyota has issued a massive recall for their Toyota Corolla 2018. Apparently, a total of 2,640 units of the hatchback have been brought back to the company.

The reason for this recall was the 2.0-L petrol engine which had raised a few concerns, there’s a possibility that the CVT equipped models might have faulty transmissions.

However, the brand has assured the drivers that those who own the Hybrid variant will not be affected.

Toyota Supra 2020 Spy Shots Leaked!

According to Toyota’s official press release:

This recall is due to a problem with the torque converter in the Continuously Variable Transmission (CVT) assembly. There is a possibility that due to a manufacturing error, the blades of the pump impeller in the torque converter may detach, causing damage to the torque converter and potential loss of motive power.

These units were produced somewhere in between August-October 2018. Furthermore, the company claims that 1,100 if the recalled Corolla units have returned to the company for investigation.

This is not the first time Toyota Australia has been in the limelight for the wrong reason. Previously, the Hilux was also in trouble as an investigation was called for problems associated with its diesel particulate filter.

Bannister Law, Australia’s leading consumer and shareholder class action lawyers are looking at action against the Toyota Hilux, as well as Prado and Fortuner models.

Toyota has written to customers offering to clean the filters and replace any that may be damaged. It is also retrofitting a switch to perform a manual burn off in the filter. In a statement, Toyota says:

“We are aware that some HiLux, Fortuner and Prado vehicles sold between June 2015 and June 2018 have the potential to develop a Diesel Particulate Filter (DPF) issue.”

However, Bannister Law argues that the problem has been known for a number of years, causing customers “unnecessary inconvenience and expense”.

We all know that Federal Minister for Railways, Sheikh Rasheed is a die-hard foodie.

His love for food knows no bounds. Consequently, a hilarious incident happened in the federal cabinet meeting yesterday.

Apparently, the meeting lasted for four to five hours and the minister couldn’t hold back his hunger.

Hence, Sheikh Rasheed put forward a hilarious demand to PM Imran Khan.

It is reported that the politician complained:

 Either food be served in the meetings or the ministers be allowed to bring their lunch boxes

We all know that Imran Khan’s austerity drive has banned lavish lunch and dinners in meetings.

That being so, PM trolled Sheikh Rasheed like a boss in front of all ministers and stated:

“the ministers need to go on a diet instead”

Khan’s reply resulted in a roar of laughter by the ministers.

Sheikh Rasheed’s fan would know that the politician never shies away from enjoying food in rallies and gatherings.

Last year, at a PTI rally at Sahiwal, Rasheed feasted on biryani and chicken boti while sitting with PM Imran Khan.

The leader was spotted suppressing a smile and the video of the incident went viral on the internet.

Sindh Food Authority: Major Restaurants Being Sealed in Karachi

Sindh Food Authority (SFA) has kickstarted a massive operation in Karachi and is raiding restaurants that are violating food regulations.

Last night, the authority sealed a number of eateries, bakeries, and canteens in the city.

However, the sealing of a popular fish eatery at Jamshed Road ‘Yadgaar Fish’ has shocked Karachiites.

The officials discovered the storage area in a filthy condition and had inadequate cleaning conditions.

Rancid oil was also recovered and storage of fish was found in foul conditions.

This is not the first time the eatery was found violating health regulations.

Yadgar Fish Exposed by Local News Channel!

A few months back the fish point was exposed by a local news channel for unhygienic kitchen, usage of unhealthy fish, and unacceptable working conditions. It was fined for Rs 15,000 as the owner admitted the negligence. The eatery was warned that if they still overlooked the conditions, the eatery will be sealed as the consequence.

From the cooking utensils to the conditions of their freezers, containers, and the fish itself, each sight was shocking.

Flies and bugs were having a party of their own, the fish meat was found infected with black spots and containers with chutney were recovered from the bathrooms!

The SFA officials also recovered a batch of old fish, pointing out that such meat is harmful to consumers as it has high traces of ammonia which hits directly at a human’s nervous system, causing irreversible damage.

An open sewage hole was also found with serving utensils nearby infested with cockroach eggs. Fungus-infected bread slices used to make breadcrumbs were also recovered during the raid.

Ever heard of a celebrity getting fined by the police for breaking the rules? Nopes … until now when the Jawani Phir Nahi Ani 2 actor Humayun Saeed was fined by the traffic police for driving a car with tinted windows.

Moreover, it was good to see that the actor actually appreciated the act of the traffic police and accepted his fault.

Did Yasir Hussain Just Express His Love for Iqra Aziz?

He took to his social media account and recorded a video message in which he said:

I have paid the challan and the traffic police are doing a great job, if this is not we are allowed to do, this act should not be done. He also gave a thumbs up in the video and that too appreciate the work of our traffic personnel.

QMobile Manufacturer Declares Bankruptcy

Chinese Smartphone manufacturer Gionee is in trouble lately. The brand has declared itself as bankrupt in China. This is likely to have a direct impact on well-known smartphone brand QMobile as the Q mobile phones are rebranded Gionee phones sold in the Pakistan market.

Gionee’s fate will declare whether QMobile will continue to sell within Pakistan or will it meet its end.

Reportedly, the company owes $3 billion to 648 creditors, half of them are banks. The brand has also failed to pay its suppliers and ad agencies.

It filed for liquidation bankruptcy at Huaxing Bank by submitting an application to a court in Shenzhen. The application has now been accepted.

Nonetheless, founder Liu Lirong is optimistic that Gionee can bounce back from the debt and loss in the next 3-5 years.

It is also reported that the company has been losing approximately CNY 100 million ($14.4 million) per month from 2013 to 2015 while losses doubled over the past two years (2016-2018).

Furthermore, it was revealed that Liu Lirong lost a massive CNY 1 billion (~$144 million) in a casino bet recently. When asked about the gambling money, Lirong claimed that he hasn’t used the company’s money but may have “borrowed company funds”.

Now, we are left with a question, is this the end of Gionee and possibly QMobile? We are about to find out!
