All-New Suzuki Swift 4th Gen to Launch in Pakistan?

Pak Suzuki has made headlines since the introduction of the new Suzuki Alto 660cc variant. There is tough competition in the market nowadays with the coming of foreign brands, thus the introduction of new cars is evident.

Bidding farewell to its Mehran and moving on with the new Alto, Suzuki is not the only brand to have introduced new cars. Honda Atlas followed the same pattern by launching the Civic Turbo. There is also a high probability that Toyota IMC may introduce the new Yaris instead of the Vios.

There are also indications that Suzuki might introduce the all-new Suzuki Swift 4th gen car as another competitor. A Swift was spotted on the roads by a car enthusiast presumably doing a test-run on the roads.

The vehicle is registered to Pak Suzuki and is equipped with a 1242cc engine. However, at this point, it is still unclear whether the brand will be launching the Swift, and if so, there is no potential deadline given.

The Swift was first unveiled in full glory at the Geneva Motor show in March 2017. The car has the following features:

If launched in Pakistan, the speculated price range for the 4th gen Suzuki Swift is around PKR 2.0 – 2.2 million for the base model.

New Luxury Buses in Karachi to be Launched by Sindh Government

During a press conference held on over the weekend, the Sindh Transport Minister announced a new bus service project which will be launched in Karachi.

The Government of Sindh has signed an agreement in collaboration with Daewoo, a Korean transport company, under which 1,000 new luxury buses will be introduced in the metropolitan.

Rickshaws & Taxis Banned on Tariq Road from 15th Ramadan 2019

“The Sindh government is on standby to remove encroachments from the land of the KCR [Karachi Circular Railway] whenever Sheikh Rashid issues the NOC for the purpose. Sheikh Rasheed should come here as we are ready to work together,” said Syed Awais Qadir Shah, Transport Minister Sindh.

During the project’s early phase, the buses will run on 40 different routes. Two months later the second phase of the project will begin.

In the second phase, 200 more buses will be added and the project will be expanded to other cities as well.

The buses will run on CNG, and the city’s CNG shortage will not affect the project. Moreover, all the buses running under this project will be air-conditioned.

Honda to Start Production in Pakistan!

Currently, a fleet of 10 buses is being operated under the bus service mainly on Shahra-e-Faisal, connecting Dawood Chowrangi in Landhi to Merewether Tower.

Also, it should be noted that the Bus Service is being launched without using public funds and funding support.

Sana Mir has made Pakistan swell with pride as the sportswoman has been crowned as the most successful spinner in women’s one-day international history.

The cricketer achieved this milestone as she dismissed the South African captain Sune Luus in the third and final ODI at Benoni.

She has now claimed her 147th ODI wicket in her 118th appearance. Sana Mir is presently the third-ranked ICC bowler. She is expected to grow higher on the list when the new rankings are released.

The achievement makes Pakistan grab the fifth spot in the ICC Women’s Championship rankings.

Careem Captains, Employees Arrested for Fraud: FIA

Ride-hailing service Careem is one of the very popular applications in Pakistan. However, FIA has arrested Careem Captains and employees.

Reportedly, they were committing fraud with their customers and were arrested for the crime.

Reportedly, the Careem Captains were taking more money than charged from the customers. i.e if a customer’s fare was Rs. 130 but they were charged with Rs. 200 instead.

Furthermore, the report also claims that fake accounts were set up using National Identification Cards of individuals to continue the fraud.

The report mentions that two franchises are under investigation and that the inspection is to go on to the top of the pyramid.

Oberyn inflicts several serious injuries on Clegane with his poisoned spear, but Gregor eventually kills Oberyn by crushing his skull, while admitting that he did rape Elia, killed her children and enjoyed it, before collapsing from his own injuries.

It is later revealed that The Mountain has been poisoned with manticore venom, a poison that Oberyn had laced his weapon with, and that he is slowly dying. Cersei enlists ex-maester Qyburn to save him, though Qyburn claims that the procedure will “change” Clegane.

What we know is that the procedure remains successful, however, transforms Ser Gregor’s physical form as well as his behavior by massive extents. He is then seen in season 6 as Cersei’s personal bodyguard.

In season 7 he remains in her Queensguard and in season 8 is present when Daenerys Targaryen arrives at King’s Landing with all her forces, demanding the release of her advisor Missandei and Cersei’s surrender.

Ser Gregor decapitates Missandei and is then left to face his brother in a dual, in which he takes his final breath. However, there was something that the eager Game of Thrones fans picked up leaving everyone in a state of confusion.

Apparently, ‘The Mountain’ took off his helmet only to look like a zombie version of… Varys!

Now, the question is was this deliberately done or was it, in fact, another HUGE blunder for the GoT series?

The holy month of Ramadan 2019 is here and the traffic situation in Karachi has worsened.

From Sehri and Iftar, there is constant hustling and bustling on food streets as Karachhites are carrying on Eid shopping and salon trips, leaving roads jam-packed.

According to recent news, Javed Ali Mahar, Deputy Inspector General of Police (DIGP) Traffic Karachi has instructed officials to ban the entrance of auto-rickshaws and taxis on Tariq Road, P.E.C.H.S after 15th Ramzan.

He carried out the order on Thursday, May 9th, 2019, owing to the increased traffic flow for Eid shopping.

He also met with representatives of Tariq Road traders’ association to discuss how the flow of traffic on the road can be improved during Ramadan 2019.

The issue of parking was also discussed, so that masses visiting Tariq Road for shopping may not face traffic jams the way they usually do at this time of the year.

The Reason Behind Karachi’s Poor Traffic Plan

The traffic situation of any area depends greatly on the rules and supervision overseen by the administration.

Karachi’s culture of traffic mainly consists of chaos and congestion, mainly owing to factors like:

  • Drivers breaking traffic signals and laws
  • Increase in the use of cell phones while driving
  • Mismanagement and negligence by Traffic Police
  • The condition of roads and subsequent blocking of roads due to construction

While the majority reportedly uses private vehicles for commuting, para-transit (Rickshaw, Taxis) is also a relatively common mode of transport in Karachi.

Sham Idrees Told Me to Fake Punch Froggy: Claims Local YouTuber

The YouTube war among Pakistani Vloggers is getting interesting with every passing day.

With so much drama in the air, social media is now getting irked with new developments every day.

However, one has to admit, this controversial battle among Pakistani YouTubers just cannot get any more entertaining.

We all know how Sham and Froggy apparently got attacked by a mob during a meet and greet.

Froggy claimed that she got punched and blamed Ducky Bhai for the violence.

And now a local YouTuber has released a video claiming that Sham gave him money to stir an attack and fake punch Froggy during the meetup.

A New Twist in the Tale

The YouTube channel of M Asim Maqsood has as many as 62 videos uploaded with the highest number of views recorded as 3,839,981. The YouTuber has kept his subscriber count private and mostly uploads prank videos.

Asim claimed that he was a big fan of Sham and used to often chat with him while Idrees was in Canada.

He stated that when the entire Sham Idrees Vs Ducky Bhai controversy began, he received a message from Sham saying he will collaborate with him and give him a shout out if he does an assignment for him.

According to Asim, Sham told him to come at Karachi’s meet and greet, pretend to misbehave with Froggy and fake punch her. After much consideration, Asim turned the offer down.

It is to be noted that the YouTuber provided NO PROOF to his claims.

However, he asked for help from fellow YouTubers on how he can upload call records and message in his next video and make them public.

The kingdom is now offering a special green card residency scheme in which the individual is no longer required to have a Saudi employer or sponsor (Kafeel).

The special scheme has been taken out to attract capital fund owners and skilled expatriates towards the country.

Saudi Arabia’s Shoura Council approved of the green card scheme on Wednesday.

Schengen Visa Costs Expected to go up by Year End

Eligibility for Special Green Card Scheme

There is a criterion one must meet before they can be granted Saudi Arabia’s special green card.

They are as followed:

  • No criminal record
  • Valid passport
  • Health report
  • Credit report

Green Card Categories

There are two categories that require a set amount of fee. The categories are temporary Iqama and permanent Iqama.

The announced system comes with a number of benefits for expatriates who will hold the green card, including:

  • Ability to hire employees
  • Ownership of transport and property
  • Employment in the commerce sector, private sector, and industry
  • Freedom of travel (exit from the Kingdom and return)
  • Designated queues at airports

The introduction of this new system is a first for the country which changes the decades-old Kafala system which required a sponsor or employer known as a Khaleel in order for permission to be granted for the designated time.

Federal Minister for Parliamentary Affairs Azam Swati shared an interesting insight about Pakistan’s automotive sector during a question session in the Senate.

Swati enlightened everyone that new automotive manufacturers are coming to Pakistan and Honda will start local production soon. This information was shared as a response to a question asked by Senator Talha Mahmood.

the Minister for Parliamentary Affairs added that the market is booming developing despite the ongoing financial situations, although sales have witnessed a decrease due to the continuous price increase.

He furthermore shared that some of the companies have already started local production, and others are yet to follow. Some of the companies will come to Pakistan to assemble even bigger vehicles.

Honda is expected to start local production from January reportedly. This move might be to get an edge on the brands that are either coming to Pakistan in the upcoming months and to tackle the existing competition in the market.

The reason behind the Original Red Drink, Rooh Afza’s absence is said to be a lack of raw material in Hamdard’s laboratories.

A receptionist at the Hamdard office gave an estimate of 15-20 days before the sherbet is back on the shelves.

While most of the community seems upset amidst the frenzy, some people are also annoyed at the traction this news is getting.

Hamdard’s History in India

During the chaos, a very informative thread also emerged on Twitter.

It explained how Hamdard was actually founded in India, and that explains India’s attachment with the drink:

In 1906, Hakeem Hafiz Abdul Majeed had laid the foundation of Hamdard Dawakhana in one of the bylanes of Old Delhi and in 1907 launched Rooh Afza.

Following the partition, his elder son stayed in India, while the younger son migrated to Pakistan, started Hamdard in Karachi and had launched Rooh Afza there.

Well, to tell you the truth, summer and Ramadan really are unthinkable without the classic beverage!

Reportedly, Hamdard Laboratories has shared the news of Rooh Afza’s supply being restored in all major retail stores and grocery outlets.

While Hamdard Laboratories had shared that the shortage was due to a lack of ingredients in the market, there are a few speculations and rumors hinting it was actually a rift that might have caused the shortage.

However, the brand rubbed the theory off in an official statement saying:

The organization urges discerning consumers and the trade not to be misled by incorrect information being circulated online and in print about non-availability of Rooh Afza.

The program has been created beautifully keeping it interesting and informative at the same time. The host and the crew of Ehsaas Ramzan cover every aspect of a normal Muslim’s life.

The show also features cooking, guidance from Ulmaa, recitation of Holy Quran and Naat as well as Islamic and general knowledge quizzes. It is informative, influencing and moreover absorbing. The idea of an OST for the Ehsaas Ramzan transmission and its purpose was another triumph for Geo TV. The song has been sung and composed by the very talented Rahat Fateh Ali Khan.

The instrumental theme of the song also plays in the background during the whole transmission. The video itself is extremely deep, profound and heartwarming. The collaboration of Rahat Fateh Ali Khan and Geo TV is definitely going to make this Ramzan tradition stay with us for a while.
