Nadia Khan’s Video Of Mimicking Meera Jee Is Wrong On So Many Levels

nadia khan mimicking meera

Nadia Khan rose to fame with one of the best TV morning shows in the country. However, is she now trying to get a short route to relevance by mimicking others?

On Waseem Badami’s Show

We are guessing Nadia Khan was asked to pick someone to mimic. She went with Meera Khan and then continued to make fun of her through her impersonation for a long time.

View this post on Instagram

A post shared by Waseem Badami (@waseembadamii)

Sure, the host called for it. However, the mimicry could have been done in a less offensive and problematic way. Nadia Khan had the option to either make it light-hearted and funny or make it controversial and she chose the latter.

The Mimicry of Meera Khan

A post shared by Entertainment Popcorn (@ent_popcorn)

In her mimicry, Nadia Khan deepens her voice and starts saying incoherent things. The deliberate mispronunciation of English words is severely problematic. Yes, Meera Khan struggles with English but so what? It’s not her mother language.

Then Nadia Khan also adds “what you mean?” as Meera Khan. This only cements the can’t-speak-English-so-can’t-be-taken-seriously attitude which is so harmful to us. Throwback to Cannoli Cafe incident— wasn’t everyone against people who did this?

Hashing Out Old Issues?

It also seems that Nadia Khan was hashing out her old wounds or issues. She had even invited Meera Khan on her own show and questioned her. Nadia Khan recalls that she called Meera Khan ‘unpredictable’ which the latter minded a lot.

However, one thing we can not help but notice and point out is how Nadia Khan keeps referring to Meera as ‘tum’ and ‘usne’. Is one not supposed to respectfully mention another on national television?

What’s With Hosts These Days?

It is also the hosts of these shows who are the problem aside from the guests. In this case, what is worse is how Waseem Badami and the rest of the participants are having a fun time roasting Meera Khan.

nadia khan mimicking meera

They are provoking Nadia Khan to keep mimicking her and enjoying every bit of it. To nonsensically make fun of someone in their absence and continue doing it, is wrong on so many levels.

Throwback to also when Iffat Omar kept laughing while Nouman Ijaz continued to explicitly admit to extra-marital affairs. Hosts have the power to direct the conversation in any which way they want. For only a few more views and popularity, they take it in the wrong direction. We can all learn something from Ahsan Khan being heftily fined for animal abuse when he brought rabbits to scare celebrities for fun.

Javeria Saud’s Parenting Is Being Questioned & Netizens Are Annoyed

Javeria Saud and her husband got a beautiful, happy family picture taken which made its way to social media. However, since social media is increasingly becoming a place full of negativity and toxicity, there’s hate on the family picture too.

The Family Picture

It appears to be a colour coordinated family picture in which all of them are dressed in black. Looking spectacular are Javeria Saud,  her husband Saud, their daughter Jannat Saud and son, Ibrahim Saud.

A post shared by VeryFilmi (@veryfilmi)

It must be a happy occasion for them and they look like a lovely family! What stands out is how distinguished the kids are— it means their parents respect their wishes and let them explore paths.

What The Netizens Think

The netizens, however, have taken a different route. Charged with vile, ruthless, and insensitive comments, they came to this family picture. Not even the children were spared which highlights how disgraceful this situation is.

Targeting children in online trolling or hate comments is never okay. Why would one even want to? They’re kids! Let them be however because their parents support them.

Thank God Someone Said It!

Javeria Saud’s Parenting

Moreover, the age-old critique is present. The mother is being targeted for the ‘wrong’ parenting of the children. Javeria Saud is being called into the court of the people to testify on this issue.

View this post on Instagram

A post shared by Javeria Saud (@javeria_saud_official)

How could she allow this abomination to happen, the people question? Their main issue lies with the children’s coloured hair. It appears the netizens require some news flashes. In the day and age where the world has advanced so much, our issue lies with the coloured hair of children?

javeria saud parenting questioned

Additionally, does Javeria Saud’s husband have no role to play in parenting despite being a father? Calling the mother out for kids’ supposed wrongdoing is also sexist.

Is Pakistani Social Media More Negative?

With the rise of online trolling and bullying, many celebrities have spoken up about this issue. These are real, hard-hitting issues that have the potential to make one miserable. Why then, do people rarely stop and think before they type?

It is not even that anonymity protects them. They proudly comment what they want from original accounts. Many of the people who have commented have the heart to bash children which is also concerning.

PTCL Builds FTTH Infrastructure In Pakistan

PTCL

An exciting webinar was hosted by Facebook where industry stakeholders contributed with the challenges and opportunities related to connectivity through fiber titled ‘Building Robust Urban Fiber Infrastructure in Pakistan’. The panel consisted of speakers from Pakistan Telecommunication Company Limited (PTCL), Telecom Infra Project (TIP), Internet Service Providers Association of Pakistan (ISPAK), along other industry stakeholders.

All the guests that were part of the webinar brought in exclusive individual viewpoints that clarified why Fiber-to-the-Home (FTTH) had yet to reach its full potential in the urban parts of Pakistan. The session was informative as it focused on current challenges and benefits that can result from having higher speed and quality internet through optical fiber connections.

Guests and speakers shed light on hurdles in not only deploying fiber networks but also managing the infrastructure in major cities, towns and far-flung areas of the country. It was identified that vendors offering fiber optic internet services had to invest and deploy their own cable infrastructure that entailed a long-drawn tedious process that each service provider had to go through to gain Right of Way (RoW).

Furthermore, they have to seek approvals and permissions from concerned civil administrations of that area to be precise, along with heavy taxes imposed that discourages internet service providers from investing in this domain. Not to mention the inconvenience caused to citizens as streets and roads are dug up all over the areas under deployment.

We found out that PTCL has decided to share its infrastructure nationwide with other vendors to provide ease of doing business. This concept of shared infrastructure will reduce the cost of doing business for the industry and will also provide convenience and access to high-quality internet that is much needed in our country to boost the economy. It was revealed that PTCL’s focus is towards providing high-quality internet service even in smaller towns and cities that will be certain that will close the digital divide.

The main theme throughout the sessions during the webinar was the strategic importance of realizing the vision of Digital Pakistan for the economic growth and social uplift of its citizens.

Careem’s ‘Drone’ Food Delivery Is Raising Serious Questions

Technological advancements are a daily task now. Despite there being so much difficulty in certain tasks, tech makes it easier. People have put their innovative minds to work many times and it pays off. The solutions they come up with are quite ingenious. However, everything may have a downside. Careem has just finished the first drone delivery of food!

That seems like quite an achievement for the company but it does raise serious questions. While it can be considered impressive, we have to see the implementation of this tech on a wider scale, that too, in Pakistan. If the company does intend to make this a norm, it is going to require a lot more than a hearty effort. let us dive into the details of what Careem is up to.

careem and food drone delivery

The Delivery Drone By Careem

According to sources, the company has a deal going about. On certain deals, they may surprise you with a drone. The deals we are referring to go by the name of ‘Khana Hungama’ deals. If you order anything worth less than Rs.499/-, a drone may surprise you. Yes, you might open your front door to be greeted by a mechanical device. While it is certainly innovative, there are certain drawbacks. We wonder what could such drawbacks be.

Let’s talk about the drawbacks

Firstly, distance and range is something to be kept in perspective. Drones are operated at a specific range and going beyond would a power loss. You don’t want your food being delivered by drone, only to fall in the middle of the road. Additionally, one has to be careful not to invade any form of privacy. Drones can reach high places and they can see through windows. It would not be considered ethical if a drone is peeking through your room window, holding a food container. Yikes!

food delievry cons to Careem

A Broader Perspective

One of the most prime things to consider here is battery power. Range may not even be a problem as big as the battery. A lot of drones come equipped with a quick charge that lasts then 20 minutes, tops. If you wish to go higher, it is going to cost more. So, the company may have to keep the delivery prices in perspective. Is the price of the drone being justified by the amount that is received on deliveries?

It can be considered a highly practical idea, but it requires more effort. The drone needs to be quite capable of handling distance and battery. The more distance you wish to control it from, the higher the cost of the drone itself. Plus, the drone would require routine upkeep and protection from humidity. The last part applies to a lot of the coastal regions of Karachi.

Gif Source: TeckExperts

Apart from this, there are some more issues that arise such a delivery concept. With the wire bunches that we have hanging from telephone poles, the drone could get stuck. It could also be shot down using stones or any similar items. Before we know it, robbery rate goes up because people are stealing drones. Another one of the biggest issues is no-fly zones. Karachi has many no-fly zones for drones and this can cause obstacles for Careem. Everyone knows this, no?

6 Features That Are Essential In A ‘Budget’ Phone

budget phone features

The age of technology is not slowing down. If we compare now and ten years ago, we can see considerable differences. However, many pieces of tech can be expensive. So, even if you buy a budget smartphone, what are some essential features?

Despite the smartphone being in the budget range, some features are absolutely important. Without them, the experience for the smartphone and feel quite incomplete. Let us dive into the details.

1. The Chipset

This is something that matters quite a lot in a smartphone. If you are getting a budget smartphone, it may not have the latest chipset. It is okay to buy a phone with a couple of generations older chipset. However, it is not recommended to buy a phone with a very old processor. That can cause a whole lot of performance issues.

2. Smartphone Body Quality

If the body of the phone is not of good quality, it won’t survive even a small fall. You have to make sure your phone has the ability to make it through a fall. Of course, phones can’t survive three-storey drops but they should survive side-table drops.

3. Amount Of RAM

When the Samsung S3 came out, 1GB ram used to be considered white a lot. Now, if you are going for a budget phone, make sure it has at least 2 GB ram. You can even find many with 3-4GB ram as well. This can make smartphones withstand a plethora of processes. It is a decision that can save you hours of pain and patience.

4. Storage Space:

Just like the RAM, storage space is also an essential feature. The storage capacity tells you how many applications can your phone keep in it. Having at least 32GB storage with an SD card slot is good. If the storage is 64, it is even better. The Realme 5i has 4GB Ram and 64 GB storage. It currently costs Rs.25,000/-

5. Battery Life On A Budget

This is quite common now in budget phones. While a big battery may add a little weight to the phone, it helps. The battery is something that can save you many hours of charging. A 4000mah battery, at least, is recommended. 5000mah can also be found in budget phones so make the selection wisely.

6. The User Interface

This is one of the most important features for a smartphone user. You can have the best phone but it needs to have a better interface. If the user does not like the UI or it is too confusing, that is a down point. Realme and Redmi both have impressive UI. In the end, it all boils down to what you prefer. However, it is recommended that you check out these features in any budget phone you buy.

Coca-Cola Takes Part In A Major Ocean Cleanup Drive

In most instances, there are no clean ways of disposing of wastage. As a result, most of it ends up in seas and oceans. This waste includes not just the garbage on the beaches but also the ones from manufacturing plants. Coca-Cola has taken it upon itself to be a part of a major ocean cleanup drive to clear at least some of the waters.

Ocean Cleanup drive

To carry out this activity, Coca-Cola is teaming up with Ocean Cleanup to prioritize the oceans this time. The objective this time is to intercept the plastic debris from around the world.

As part of this joint venture, Coca-Cola will bring to the table its global network; Ocean Cleanup will bring technology and data-driven solutions. The venture will make use of Dutch nonprofit’s solar-powered Interceptor as one of the cleaning systems. By the end of 2022, it will be seen in 15 rivers.

For now, Ocean Cleanup has installed two Interceptors; one at Santo Domingo, the Dominican Republic, and the other at Can Tho, Vietnam.

How will the technology work?

Interceptor was unveiled in 2019 as a scalable solution for collecting plastic waste. A barrier guides the waste travelling with the water current towards the opening of the Interceptor. The waste goes to the conveyor belt. There, the waste goes into a shuttle which gets taken to the shore. After that, the local teams get involved. They will sort out the wastes. For instance, the collected PET plastic bottles will be turned into new bottles.

The Ocean Cleanup

Boyan Slat, Founder and CEO, The Ocean Cleanup said:

“The Ocean Cleanup’s mission is to rid the oceans of plastic. With 1,000 rivers emitting nearly 80% of river-carried plastic into oceans, this massive problem grows by the day, which is why we are always looking to accelerate our progress. Among the waste we collect with our cleanup systems, we find many plastic bottles, including Coca-Cola packaging, so I applaud them for being the first in the industry to join our mission, as part of their wider actions to make a positive impact on worldwide plastic pollution. Our clear intent is to take our learnings from this partnership, which has the potential to evolve in the future and continue to scale rapidly. That’s why I believe this is good news for our oceans.”

Coca-Cola

Brian Smith, president and chief operating officer, The Coca-Cola Company said:

“At Coca-Cola, we have teams on the ground who will support the deployment of new Interceptors in rivers around the world, as well as the processing and recycling of the waste collected. Working together, we believe we can have a real impact. That’s exciting: it’s something we know our employees in every corner of the world will get behind, by helping to support the local implementation work and as ambassadors for the wider mission.”

Sohai Ali Abro Bashed For Wearing ‘Vulgar’ Clothes With Husband

Sohai Ali Abro is enjoying the married life but her fans aren’t enjoying the documentation of it. Here’s why she’s getting bashed.

Costume Night

It appears Sohai Ali Abro and her husband were out and about enjoying a costume night. Dressed in a yellow dress, Sohai looks like sunshine. Her husband on the other hand, is dressed in red suspenders and is perhaps the lobster? They could be a mermaid and her lobster but we may be wrong!

Here’s the couple enjoying the night:

The Netizens Rain on Their Parade

However, the picture posted on Instagram cost Sohai some negative comments. People are sharing their discontentment over her dressing (so surprising!) while others are questioning her faith. Since Pakistanis are also not good with PDA, people are also not liking the ‘close’ picture.

An advice:

Good With The Bad

However, not all the comments are as bad as these ones. Many netizens also think before they type and sometimes they share their good thoughts too. Someone came to the couple’s defence with a comment that we can all learn from:

Others had only well-wishes and love to shower on the recently married couple:

sohai ali abro husband bashed

So Couples Can Not Couple?…

The hate the two are receiving on just taking a picture close together is concerning. The two are married! Why can’t two married people also stand together and take a loving picture? Sure non-married can not but what is wrong with those who have literally read their Nikkah?

sohai ali abro husband bashed

It’s actually hilarious how a picture with a husband and wife in arms has the potential to invite so much ire.

A Little Confusion

Celebrities like Sohai Ali Abro and others are used to online trolling by now. For them, these must be like jokes by now where a picture is posted and within seconds hate starts coming.

However, we wonder if they ever wonder that ‘where did we ask for your opinion?’ That’s the beauty of netizens around the world. They believe their opinions are asked for. If only every person had such good self-esteem, we would have fewer issues in the world.

The New Couple

Sohai recently married Shehzar Mohammed and their wedding was a funfair. The two were gleaming with happiness on their big day and we loved the simple, minimal vibes.

From their wedding pictures to party times, here’s what all they have been up to:

Tokyo Olympics 2021: Huge Number Of Rules Announced For Athletes

Due to the pandemic and the large number of people that get together for the Olympics, it was speculated that it might not happen this year. However, they really are happening but only with a long list of rules in place.

The Details

The Olympics are expected to start on July 23 and will be held in Tokyo. The host city is currently under a state of emergency and a poll also found out that 80% of people do not want the Olympics happening.

All other major events like the Eurovision song contest and the PGA Tour have been cancelled too due to fear of outbreaks.

Approximately 11,500 athletes are expected to travel to Japan for the Games. In addition to that, an estimated 79,000 journalists, officials, and staff will also be attending.

Is This Olympics 2020 or 2021?

The pandemic delayed the Olympics last year. Hence, this year’s Olympics will be called Tokyo 2020. However, the important question to ask is that are all Olympics going to call the prior year’s Olympics?

Now the organizers face two tests: firstly, preventing the spread of COVID-19 from foreign visitors and secondly, keeping athletes healthy and virus-free.

Hence, here are the steps organizers are taking to keep the Games coronavirus free. Athletes who don’t follow the rules will be barred from the Games with their credentials stripped.

1. Vaccines Will Be Available

Vaccines will be available for the athletes but not required if they are already vaccines.

2. Athletes Will Be Tested Early — And They’ll Be Tested Often

Competitors coming from outside Japan must be tested for coronavirus two times on different days. The first will be within 96 hours before their flights to Japan. The second will be upon arrival.

3. Athletes Can’t Hug Or High Five

No more winning expressions of love. Athletes are to stay two meters — or about six-and-a-half feetapart from others when not in the field.

4. They Can’t Play Tourist

Can not do anything besides preparing and competing.

5. Athletes Must Wear Masks Almost All The Time

Unless they’re eating, drinking, sleeping, training or competing, athletes have to be masked.

6. Foreign Media May Be Tracked By Gps

It is also said that overseas media will likely be monitored via GPS to make sure they don’t go to locations they’re not cleared to go.

With all this in place, it seems likely the Games will be a success.

Here’s How You Can Use FaceTime On Android & Windows

facetime use android windows

All our Android and Windows fellows, you have a reason to celebrate and no it’s not because somebody is buying you an iPhone. Jokes aside, it’s because you can now use/join FaceTime!

The Latest News

Apple revealed this news at their annual WDC conference in which they announce all the new updates. It seems alongside the latest iOS updates, there is this new feature that opens FaceTime to Android.

The Updates Making The Change

FaceTime is basically getting upgraded in iOS 15. However, this won’t be all that good. This update will make iOS work and look like will Zoom and Microsoft Teams. You will also be able to see a participant grid view and the ability to schedule calls.

Moreover, FaceTime will now operate with spatial audio. This means that people’s voice will sound like it’s coming from their position on the screen. However, the most exciting part is FaceTime’s availability for non-Apple devices.

When Is iOS 15 Getting Released?

The most anticipated iOS 15 will be released in the fall. Once you have downloaded the latest operating system, you can join FaceTime calls from any device.

Your Apple friends can no longer take digs at you or make you feel left out. You’re a part of the FaceTime gang now.

How To Join The Calls

facetime use android windows

If you own an Android or Windows device and have a friend or family member with an Apple device, here’s what to do. They can send a link to a FaceTime call through either text, email, or WhatsApp. Once you receive the link, click on it and it opens in your browser. Voila!

The only catch to this update is that an Android or Windows device can only join the FaceTime call, not initiate it. To be able to schedule or start a FaceTime call though, it is necessary to have an Apple device and an Apple ID. Only this allows you to create a shareable link to invite others. Moreover, the non-Apple participants can’t join until the Apple user who set it up approves them.

Privacy Concerns

FaceTime is loved around the world and even by Android/Windows users for its ease. It’s super user-friendly and the quality of calls is also great. However, privacy concerns can arise.

To address this speculation, Apple remarked at WWDC that even on the web, FaceTime calls will always be end-to-end encrypted.

Maheen Ghani Calls Out Fahad Mustafa & Things Are Getting Messy

Maheen Ghani has called out Fahad Mustafa for his double standards and this might get heated…

Fahad Mustafa’s Concern for Women

Fahad Mustafa put up a tweet calling for the respect of women. His tweet was in response to the mega trolling that was directed towards Hania Aamir recently. His message essentially asks people to live (while minding their own business) and let live! He does make a strong point though:

Why Maheen Ghani Doesn’t Buy It

However, Maheen Ghani neither buys it nor is willing to stay quiet. Fahad Mustafa produced a drama called ‘Dunk’ which he said was a tribute to ‘victims of false allegations of sexual harassment.

Before we delve into why this show and Fahad Mustafa’s solidarity tweet do not coincide, here’s what Maheen Ghani said:

The tweet was followed by people affirming Ghani’s point. However, one woman also raised this point to which Ghani responded with facts again.

An Ally For Show

Dunk is hilarious for all the wrong reasons. Bringing Noman Ijaz as the protagonist who is falsely accused and suffers is also funny considering his lewd remarks on sexualising women on Iffat Omar’s show.

Moreover, paying a tribute to ‘false allegations’ blows false allegations out of proportion. Yes, it has happened and it is wrong. However, less than 1% of allegations are false. Has Fahad Mustafa done anything for the other 99%?

Making said shows makes the already suspicious-against-women’s-claims awaam of Pakistan more reasons to disbelieve women. Plus, making this show while knowing that actual teachers have been proven to be harassers and have ruined 100s of lives is insensitive.

Jeeto Pakistan for Women

Mustafa is also not a beacon of a feminist ally on his show. We can bet that anyone who critically watches his shows knows what we are talking about.

His attitude and behaviour towards women have been noted by netizens on Twitter too. Fat-shaming women, making jokes about women which they can not comprehend, taking digs at their hobbies etc. is all normal for him.

Where does #respectforwomen go when he calls them ‘moti tazi auntian’?

What is even sadder is how none of these women has ever shown their distaste for these remarks. They are excited at the prospect of winning something and while our desi Ellen might be giving stuff away, the least he can do is be nice about it.

Bride Calls Off Wedding After Groom Shows Up Drunk With His Guests

Women are often forced to surrender to the cultural values and family values in whatever situation they find themselves in. Especially when the matter is of marriage, their volition is not taken into account. So it comes as a pleasant surprise when you see women standing up for themselves, and that too on their wedding day; which is what this Uttar Pradesh bride did.

Uttar Pradesh Bride walks away

Last week on Saturday, a bride called off her wedding right on her wedding day. This happened in the Pratapgarh district of Uttar Pradesh. Let’s recount what happened.

Mardan Bride Demands A Unique Haq Mehr Worth Rs. 100,000

A 22-year-old bride was ready to get married when her groom showed up drunk. At the event, he started forcing the bride to dance before the vows. The guests from the groom’s side also took part in this. He also misbehaved with the bride’s family. Not wanting to live her entire life with this man, she called it off then and there. Not only that, but her family also held the groom and his relatives hostage until they returned all the wedding gifts. Considering the concept of jahez is equally, if not more, toxic in India as in Pakistan, the wedding gifts must have been costly. Hence, it does make sense if they wanted to take back all the gifts.

The statement by the police

After returning the gifts, the groom’s family even brought in the police. They still wanted to go through with the wedding but the not-anymore-bride remained adamant. The police said in a statement to a news publication, “A farmer from Tikri village had arranged his daughter’s marriage with a Ravendra Patel of Kutiliya Ahina village during the corona curfew. He had made necessary arrangements for the ceremony, but the groom and ‘baraatis’ arrived drunk.”

The officer continued:

“Initially, the bride’s family ignored their overtures, but the situation turned ugly when the groom pressed the bride to dance before the jaimala ceremony. When the bride refused, the groom created a ruckus. Irked by his behaviour, the bride walked out and her family members held the baraatis captive.”

Uttar Pradesh is indeed becoming home to numerous such bizarre events. In one instance, a man dressed up as a woman to meet his girlfriend who was getting married to someone else. He was wearing a red saree, makeup, fake hair, sandals, and had a small purse as well. His gestures rose suspicion and he was almost caught.

In another instance, another UP bride called off her wedding on seeing her groom chew ghutka.

Auto Show Announcement

The Pakistan Auto show is meant to showcase all the impressive vehicles in the country. It is meant to show how well Pakistan is progressing in this domain. We do hear different types of news from time to time. Where the production of MG is underway, Changan is making an effort too. KIA is one of the most successful brands in Pakistan and is on its way among the top contenders.

Between all this, other brands are rising too. These include Proton and BAIC. Despite so much competition, everyone has a different preference. It does not matter whether it is an SUV or a compact, each brand has its strengths. This is also why all the brands are doing quite well in the Pakistani market. In light of that, let us tell you what awaits us.

Let us take a look at a highlight from the auto show in Lahore last year. It is quite an interesting one and leaves one wondering a lot. What do the car manufacturers do to make it so impressive? Where does their secret lie?

The Details Of The Event

According to official sources, the Auto show is set to take place in November. The exact days are 12-13-14. Local and international contenders are also going to attend the show. Apart from investors, Government high officials will also be a part. They will also be joined by raw material providers and machinery manufacturers. The event is likely to draw a crowd of more than 100,000 people. This is based on the statistics of previous auto show attendance in Pakistan.

We hope that the winners of the show are also impressive brands. After all, people want the best in quality and zero compromises. Many brands are willing to deliver but how many are we going to see at the event. Save the date because it is headed to us with break-neck speed.

Javed Afridi Teases Electric Car Under Rs.1 Million

The world of electric vehicles has seen quite a lot of development. In recent years, the concept itself has risen quite high. Despite there being major setbacks, the industry has started to grow well. In light of this, Javed Afridi has just teased a new electric vehicle.

However, the tease itself is not what the news is all about. As you must already be aware, Javed Afridi has taken quite an involvement in the automobile industry. He was even seen working with some brands that are new in Pakistan. So let us dive into the details.

Javed Afridi Teases Vehicle

The personality is the owner of Haier Pakistan as well as the Peshawar Zalmi. The Zalmi is a cricket team whose name is often featured in PSL for those of you not familiar. When we talked about automobiles above, it was MG we meant, in specific. Javed Afridi has quite a lot of skills and experience under his belt by now. It is never a dull day if you follow him on Twitter.

The teaser of the vehicle that has been given is manufactured by a Chinese company. Wuling Mini EV is the vehicle’s name and has gathered quite a following on the marker. People want to see it hit the streets and roam amongst the general public. After all, an electric car worth Rs.1 Million must be a wonder to drive. What has gone into its engineering to make it so affordable?

EV Era Today

The tease is not just the range of the price. It has also been teased that the price may even be less than Rs.1 Million! Yes, this is quite affordable, especially because it’s an electric vehicle. With brands like Tesla, an affordable one can be quite difficult to come by. It is nice to see progress on this front.

In Jan and Feb 2021, the vehicle actually beat Tesla Model 3 as the best-selling EV. As underrated as it may seem, it seems the vehicle really does have impressive features and capabilities. With a 13kW singular electric motor, it produces a maximum speed of 100km/h. Seems quite ample for city driving. If the vehicle itself is sold in Pakistan between 6-9 lac, the public will go crazy!

EV All Day Everyday

The Wuling Mini EV also has many other features. This includes an Anti-lock braking system, rear parking sensors, tire pressure monitor, and a stereo system. Javed Afridi and this tease have quite a lot of potential due to its price bracket. One may find themselves mesmerized by all it has to offer. That, too, at a reasonable price.

Let us hope that the vehicle does well when it is finally released for our market.

SPAR Supermarket Wins Hearts Of Drivers This Heatwave

Spar Supermarket Heatwave

As always, Karachi’s weather remains unpredictable. You never know when the heatwave would hit Karachi or when it would turn into light drizzles. That said, while we may not be sure when it would hit, we know that it would come sooner or later. This is because heatwave has become an unfortunate constant in Karachi. All we can do now is know how to make sure it doesn’t have too much of an adverse effect on us.

Karachi and its people

By 2017 population statistics, Karachi stands at 16.1 million people. Even if half of us decide to be more vigilant about our surroundings, the rest of the population may not have to experience extreme side effects of the weather. This vigilance was shown by SPAR Supermarket in Pakistan.

When you visit the supermarket, you often forget in the cold of the AC that your drivers are outside. In the parking, the drivers have to switch off the cars. And even if it’s not off, the heat renders the AC useless. As a result, instead of suffocating in the car, they step out under the direct sun for at least there will be some wind.

SPAR Pakistan in the heatwave

SPAR Pakistan acknowledged these drivers’s struggles. They decided to make sure that the drivers get looked after alongside their valued customers.

https://www.facebook.com/watch/?v=507753043671029

SPAR Pakistan had their worker go out and serve cold beverages to the waiting drivers. In a time when most people do not really care about people with ‘invisible jobs’ it is nice to see SPAR caring for them.

Of course, one cold beverage is not going to be enough on a wider scale. But look at it this way; they are doing what is doable for them. If you, too, do what is feasible for you, collectively, it will be a massive step. And when all of us follow in these footsteps, hopefully not many people will fall sick or die at the hands of the heatwave.
