Javed Afridi Speaks Up After Girls Share Their Experience With ‘Haier’

Known for much more, Javed Afridi is currently going viral for responding to a girl on Twitter who was tweeting about her experience with Haier. The girl accused the brand of gender discrimination amongst its customers. According to her account, she went to someone that she assumed to be a representative of the company who said that she would not be able to buy a product on instalments because she is a woman.

Alleged gender discrimination

The netizen complained that she finally felt stable in her life with a job, accommodation, and utility bills. But of course, to afford home appliances at a 100% payment is not possible in a paycheck to paycheck lifestyle. This is why she approached the store for instalment based purchase.

She ended her complaint with how she feels upset at only men being able to buy kitchen appliances in installments when it is the women having the kitchen responsibilities.

CEO Haier Pakistan denies allegations

CEO of Haier, Javed Afridi responded to the tweet and categorically denied the allegations. He said that the company does not have any such policy of not releasing products to women. And that is a secondary topic because the company does not even have an installment facility for the consumers. Hence, even if it was a man asking to buy a fridge in installments, the company will outright refuse the potential customer. It must come from the fact that given the facility of installments, numerous Pakistanis will avail it but never pay up.

Javed Afridi stated the facts that would let people know how Haier would not do such a thing. But the Twitter world had two differing opinions on the statement. There were some who pointed out that they did not like the CEO of Haier’s tone. They said that the tone was not consumer-friendly. In fact, if a customer was sharing an experience, even if Haier does not have such a policy, the company should follow up on who is degrading the brand’s name.

But some jumped up to defend the brand’s CEO as well. They clarified that there was nothing wrong with the tone of Javed Afridi. They said that he was basically stating the rules the organization works with. Neither was he disrespectful and nor was his company discriminating against any gender.

Social Media’s Harms

In February, another case went viral on social media which involved a crime using social media. At the start of 2021, a woman was accused of robbing a young boy in Karachi. The two had become friends on social media and the young boy came to Karachi on her request via a social media app.

However, the family could already sense trouble and they continued following the boy. They also had tapped his location via another app. The family intercepted them at Tariq Road and forcefully tried to take the boy away. The girl fled the scene until then. It was later discovered that she had already stolen Rs.70,000 from the boy and was demanding Rs.30,000 more.

How To Protect Children

Though these incidents have happened with young men and women alike, children are most at risk. In an ideal world, even teenagers should not be allowed to get phones. A simple Nokia one which can work well for communication should be good. However, nowadays even plenty of school work is through these social media apps— what can one do?

What we can do is educate youngsters on how people on the internet can exploit, harm, and force one to do illegal and undesirable things. They can be informed to not speak to strangers on the internet, especially to not befriend them at any cost. With such principles in mind, children can guard themselves to a great extent.

Hyundai Nishat Pays Homage To Soldiers On Defence Day

hyundai nishat pays homage to forces

It can be a great sense of patriotism to celebrate Defence Day. Each year, on 6th September, we pay our respects to the armed forces of Pakistan. It is they, who are responsible for keeping peace in the regions. It is their brave soldiers who are standing at the border, day and night, as we sleep with peace. In light of this auspicious day, Hyundai Nishat has decided to pay homage to our national heroes. They deserve every bit of respect that they get and they deserve more. Let us dive into the spirit a little bit.

As we can see from our history, Pakistan has always had a strong-armed response to emergency situations. Their soldiers are the first to help if they are called in on an international or local matter. When the Holy Kabaa underwent a siege and capture in the 1970s, Pakistan sent SSG soldiers to free the innocent people trapped there.

Hyundai Celebrates Too

Among the many ways to celebrate this day, a video showcasing achievements is a good way to go. Despite there being a pandemic, people have found alternate ways to celebrate Defence Day. The spirit to support the armed forces of Pakistan is quite high in citizens here. In many households, there is someone who wishes to join the army or the navy or the air force and it takes a whole other level of willpower to be able to put yourself on the line.

The armed forces know what it’s like to lie down the barbed wire and let the other person crawl over you. It seems that their determination is unmatched and that is exactly how Hyundai’s recent video portrays them. As the Hyundai video starts, it talks about how these people are valiant and undeterred in the face of adversity.

Here’s the video

1965 War Explained Through Rare Newspaper Clippings & Images

1965-war

After the creation of Pakistan, The father of the nation, Quaid-e-Azam Mohammad Ali Jinnah said in his speech on March 1948 in Chittagang, East Pakistan [now Bangladesh]:

“The Story of Pakistan, its struggle and its achievement, is the very story of great human ideals, struggling to survive in the face of odds and difficulties”.

Pakistan’s Defence Day [Sept.06] is one of the most vital events of Pakistan’s history. On September 6, 1965, the Indian army crossed the international borders of Pakistan without a formal declaration of War. It was a time when not just our brave soldiers but the entire nation stood up to defend the motherland and compelled the Indian Army to escape from the battlefield, eventually, a ceasefire came into effect on September 23, 1965 under the auspices of the United Nations due to an intervention of then superpowers i.e. USSR and the USA.

Those seventeen days truly portrayed what was once said by the legendary French general= Napoléon Bonaparte, “There are only two forces in the world, the sword and the spirit”.

Here, brandsynario.com has collected a few of the observations of the international and national media as evidence of this awesome combination of sword and spirit of the Pakistani nation during the war that will refresh the war memory of the youth and old from our history:

On September 15, 1965, American Broadcasting Corporation’s Roy Malone reported that “I have been a journalist now for twenty years and want to go on record that I have never seen a more confident and victorious group of soldiers than those fighting for Pakistan, right now.”

On September 17, Time Magazine reported that “Pakistan’s small highly-trained army is more than a match for the Indians.”

According to the London Daily Mirror of September 1965 “India is being soundly beaten by a nation which is outnumbered by four and a half to one in population and three to one in the size of armed forces.”

Here are some clippings from various local and international newspapers that covered the 1965 War:

Trolls Question Nida Yasir’s Research Skills & They’re Not Coming Slow

The Twitter Is Having A Field Day After Nida Yasir Leaves The Guests Confused

Do you know when they say that the internet keeps the receipts? Well, we have had a first-hand experience on this one. No one and absolutely no one can get away from the wrath of internet trolling. However, some people are more used to it than others, and Nida Yasir is one of them.

Nida Yasir has again become the victim of internet trolls thanks to her poorly researched and cringey interview. Her interview became the talk of the town after an old clip of her morning show resurfaced on the internet.

The Interview Guests

Back in 2016, Nida invited two Nust students who invented a formula one racing car. The young men had developed the electric racing car and a group of people and were going to the Formula Student in the US. Despite being the interviewer, Nadia had no knowledge about the topic and hence started a series of dumb questions, which left the guests dumbfounded.

Please take a look at it, in case you haven’t already.

The Twitter Trolls

As soon as the video went viral on the internet, netizens started questioning the research skills of the host. Since Nida couldn’t even comprehend the idea of a Formula car, she even went on to ask some weird questions from the guests.

However, trolls had a great time making fun, yet some were divided as to why this is such a big deal since it can happen to anyone.

Let’s take a look at a few.

Some even suggested watching the interview if you can’t watch Money Heist. However, our suggestion? Even if you have watched it and still can’t get over the tragic ending, this clip will help you move on for sure.

At the same time, someone mentioned a similar instance which will definitely leave you in fits from laughter if you weren’t already.

However, some moved on to mention that it’s not her fault that she doesn’t know anything about the car because most of us don’t know either.

Yet, at the same time, being a talk show host, it is her responsibility to be aware of the topic she ough to discuss and nonetheless do a little research.

Well, at least people had a good laugh, which is all that matters in these challenging times.

There are brands that need not be advertising anymore. They have become a part of our lifestyle that they are either a routine for you or you have begun using them as a verb. Whether they choose to advertise or not is their act but the users worldwide are certainly aware of what these brands do and what they stand for.

Let’s take a look at some of these brands!

1. Google

“Oh, you do not understand the phenomenon? Google it!”

This is what we say when someone is confused. We replace the word search with the brand name Google. Google now stands as a synonym for searching for something on the internet. Even if you use search engines such as Bing or Yahoo, you say that you ‘googled’ it. Is there even a need to advertise Google then?

2. Facebook

Unlike Google, Facebook has not yet been associated with any verb. However, it has become a part of the routine. You do not just need it to keep in touch with your friends. All the Facebook groups that you are part of, keep you apprised of the discussions in your community or all over the world. In fact, just recently I came across a post on Facebook where a user wanted to know the latest happenings in Afghanistan from fellow netizens because she did not want to ‘google’ it.

3. Instagram

Instagram, too, is a way of life. You get up and you scroll through what your favorite idols have been up to. You get to learn about people’s opinions through the stories they post. But seeing how the platform is a way of life and how everyone feels connected whenever you bring Instagram into the conversation, other brands use it in their advertising.

4. WhatsApp

WhatsApp too gets promoted without paying for all that promotion. Don’t believe me? Do you not watch dramas? All the characters are sending each other voice notes. In fact, at times, the WhatsApp thread’s visuals are shown as well. Seeing other entities promote your product, at least I would not only be happy but realize that I don’t need to promote it anymore. Of course, where WhatsApp is concerned, the platform promoting itself would mean giving out timely updates.

5. Apple

Apple while it advertises, does not need to do so. The brand has set the mark. And now, when people need to look up something phone-related or compare their phone with (Samsung, ahem), they look up to Apple.

The stellar Feroze khan is currently enjoying all the love from his fans thanks to one of his most iconic performances on Khuda and Mohabbat season 3. As if we weren’t sure about the actor’s talent, we are in awe of his recent masterpiece.

Thankfully he graced our screen in a recent interview appearance with Tabish Hashmi, and safe to say that the actor clarified a lot of rumors which have been going around for quite some time now.

Feroze Khan Separation Rumors

The rumors of Feroze and Alizeh’s separation started back in late 2020. However, it was only recently that the actor clarified everything. Previously, a lot of speculations were made about the relationship between the two. However, nothing was clear as of yet.

In a series of questions, Tabish moved on to ask Feroze a much-heated question about who spread the rumors about the couple’s separation?

In response to a question, Feroze said;

“When someone is planning a legacy, they are thinking about a five-year career or a 50-year career. What you ask God depends on you, but no one wants this cheap publicity, right?”

“I don’t want my son to grow up and ask me whether I was the one who planned everything,” he added. Much to the relief of fans, Feroze termed these rumors as cheap publicity.

Check out the complete interview below.

Cosmetic Surgery Incident

In another follow-up question by the host, he shares a rather funny incident about a cosmetic procedure he got done after massive training for a campaign.

“I had to film a campaign underwater, and I was not satisfied with my body. So I worked out a lot. However, the result on my face was quite drastic as my face shrunk. And then I went on to get fillers done even though I was not the right candidate, according to the doctor. ”

“As soon as I got the fillers and I looked at myself. I was like, how do I get this thing dissolved?” He added.

“I was like damn, this is not me. I need to get this off.”

Later on, the actor added that he plans to stay in the line of work to spread a positive message regardless of the previous decision about quitting the showbiz.

Feroze Khan Lashes Out At Tabish For Cracking ‘Sheikh’ Joke

Showbiz industry is divided into groups. One group is comprised of stars like Mahira Khan who even when they do nothing they stay as the beloved personality of the audience. The second group is of talented actors like Zahid Ahmed whose work speaks for them. The third category is of people who cannot act but try to stay relevant through controversial statements; imagine Agha Ali. The fourth group is where Feroze Khan belongs.

Feroze Khan controversies

In this fourth group, the actor is talented so there is no point making irresponsible statements or starting controversies. But stars like Feroze Khan continue doing it. You may recall his alleged separation scandal. Then there was the matter of how he might be interested in Hania Aamir. In today’s news, he made the headlines for lashing out at Tabish Hashmi.

TBH by Tabish Hashmi

In the third season of TBH, Tabish invited Feroze Khan amongst other personalities. While other episodes were funny, exactly how they were supposed to be, the one with Feroze Khan was an anomaly.

When a star makes a statement, it becomes public property. And when those stars get invited to a show, especially one on the format like TBH, the star should expect those statements to be used in their own comical way.

Read More: “One Should Marry More Than Once” Says Feroze Khan

What happened?

Basically, Feroze Khan had made a statement about having a Sheikh figure in his life. Tabish made a statement about that. And Feroze completely lashed out. He said he will not tolerate a joke on that matter.

The right way?

That said, if there are some things that you do not want discussed, maybe do it prior to the show. But when you enter the show’s recording, you are in someone else’s domain. Lashing out because you do not like something which you are responsible for in the first place is the most uncultured thing one can do. You, as a guest are basically insulting a host who showed you respect by inviting you.

You may just be conveying what you will let pass and what you won’t but the way you do it is all that matters. So, while Feroze may be on point, the way he did it was extremely rude and could have been avoided.
