September 6th, Pakistan’s Yom-e-Difa (Defence Day) is a day when the nation pays tribute to our heroic soldiers who fought relentlessly to defend the safety and sovereignty of our country in the Indo-Pak war of 1965.

It is a national day that is celebrated with special prayers for all the martyrs who sacrificed their lives for Pakistan.

On this day, exclusive ceremonies are held to distribute special medals and accolades to commendable military officers for their services to the country. Awards like Hilal-i-Imtiaz, Sitara-i-Imtiaz, Sitara-i-Barsalat, Tamgha-i-Barsalat, Tamgha-i-Imtiaz, and Imtiaz-i Sanad are some significant national awards given to officers of the Pakistan Navy, Army, and Air Force.

The purpose of these events is to inspire and encourage the populaces of Pakistan to think highly of their motherland and build up their feelings of patriotism towards their country.

Here are some rare facts about our military forces that we are proud of!

Pakistan’s military forces are the sixth-largest in the world in terms of active troops.
Pakistan is the only country in the Islamic world to have female Major Generals in the Army. Major General Shahida Malik was Pakistan’s first female two-star general
Air Commodore MM ALAM (Late) has a world record of shooting down 5 planes in less than a minute.
Of the largest forces in the world Pakistan spends $10,000 per soldier whereas America spends nearly $400,000 per soldier and India spends $25,000.
The annual budget of our military forces sums up to $6.98 billion which is almost 2.7% of our GDP.

There have been numerous non-muslims who have risen to the rank of Brigadier; and in 1990, the first Christian promoted to the rank of Major General was Julian Peter who commanded the 14th Div in Okara Cantt. In 2009 Brigadier Noel Israel Khokhar was also promoted to the rank of Major General. Captain Hercharn Singh, the first Sikh was Commissioned Officer in Pakistan Army. He was commissioned in Baloch Regiment. Currently, he’s serving as an ADC to a Corps Commander.
Reports suggest that the percentage representation in the Pakistan Army as a whole was approximate as Punjabis: 53.19%, Pashtuns: 20%, Sindhis: 14.5%, Kashmiris: 9.11%, Baloch: 3.2%.

A Pakistani man has been arrested in Islamabad for forcing a girl into marriage in the most unlikeliest of ways. You could never guess what people can do on messaging applications like WhatsApp. Hear all about this strange yet unfortunate case here.

A man in Islamabad has been arrested by the police. The reason for his arrest is that he forced a girl into marriage on WhatsApp. That is to say, he forcefully made her sign the Nikkahnama on WhatsApp. The police have so far reported that he somehow manipulated her into giving her number to him. After that, through blackmail and intimidation tactics, he was able to perform a nikkah with her forcefully all on WhatsApp.

The Islamabad Police added that the incident was brought to their notice due to the complaint of the girl. Moreover, the investigation is underway and appropriate action will be taken against the accused.

Social Media’s Harms

In February, another case went viral on social media which involved a crime using social media. At the start of 2021, a woman was accused of robbing a young boy in Karachi. The two had become friends on social media and the young boy came to Karachi on her request via a social media app.

However, the family could already sense trouble and they continued following the boy. They also had tapped his location via another app. The family intercepted them at Tariq Road and forcefully tried to take the boy away. The girl fled the scene until then. It was later discovered that she had already stolen Rs.70,000 from the boy and was demanding Rs.30,000 more.

How To Protect Children

Though these incidents have happened with young men and women alike, children are most at risk. In an ideal world, even teenagers should not be allowed to get phones. A simple Nokia one which can work well for communication should be good. However, nowadays even plenty of school work is through these social media apps— what can one do?

What we can do is educate youngsters on how people on the internet can exploit, harm, and force one to do illegal and undesirable things. They can be informed to not speak to strangers on the internet, especially to not befriend them at any cost. With such principles in mind, children can guard themselves to a great extent.

It can be a great sense of patriotism to celebrate Defence Day. Each year, on 6th September, we pay our respects to the armed forces of Pakistan. It is they, who are responsible for keeping peace in the regions. It is their brave soldiers who are standing at the border, day and night, as we sleep with peace. 1965 War Explained Through Rare Newspaper Clippings & Images

After the creation of Pakistan, The father of the nation, Quaid-e-Azam Mohammad Ali Jinnah said in his speech on March 1948 in Chittagang, East Pakistan [now Bangladesh]:

“The Story of Pakistan, its struggle and its achievement, is the very story of great human ideals, struggling to survive in the face of odds and difficulties”.

Pakistan’s Defence Day [Sept.06] is one of the most vital events of Pakistan’s history. On September 6, 1965, the Indian army crossed the international borders of Pakistan without a formal declaration of War. It was a time when not just our brave soldiers but the entire nation stood up to defend the motherland and compelled the Indian Army to escape from the battlefield, eventually, a ceasefire came into effect on September 23, 1965 under the auspices of the United Nations due to an intervention of then superpowers i.e. USSR and the USA.

Those seventeen days truly portrayed what was once said by the legendary French general= Napoléon Bonaparte, “There are only two forces in the world, the sword and the spirit”.

Here, brandsynario.com has collected a few of the observations of the international and national media as evidence of this awesome combination of sword and spirit of the Pakistani nation during the war that will refresh the war memory of the youth and old from our history:

On September 15, 1965, American Broadcasting Corporation’s Roy Malone reported that “I have been a journalist now for twenty years and want to go on record that I have never seen a more confident and victorious group of soldiers than those fighting for Pakistan, right now.”

On September 17, Time Magazine reported that “Pakistan’s small highly-trained army is more than a match for the Indians.”

According to the London Daily Mirror of September 1965 “India is being soundly beaten by a nation which is outnumbered by four and a half to one in population and three to one in the size of armed forces.”

There are countless desserts to try in Pakistan but due to certain limitations, we will only be covering THIRTEEN best desi desserts that everyone should try at least once in their lifetime.

Faluda

The rich combination of ice cream, flavored milk, jelly and colorful vermicelli is perfect for a hearty and filling dessert.

Rabri

Hyderabadi rabri has been famous for its taste for as long as I can remember. It is like desi Ben & Jerry for a broken heart.

Gulab Jamun

An everyday dessert which the desi mostly have in order to complete their three-course meal is a Gulab Jamun. Soft, sweet and available in different sizes; they provide me with a moment of sheer bliss.

Chum Chum

Chum Chums are like Gulab Jamuns sister, only white. Also, there is no such thing as having one chum chum. You at least have two of them in one go, if you are not diabetic!

Shahi Tukde

Something we can easily make at home and it definitely tastes amazing. Shahi Tukre consists of fried bread and cooked milk. Also, it tastes best when it’s hot and fresh.

Kulfi

Refreshing in this insufferable summer heat, Kulfi is every Pakistani’s childhood love.

Kheer

If you haven’t had a thulli wali kheer, then you haven’t tasted the real flavor of our desi dessert.

Jalebi

The most common desi dessert, known to be a perfect combo with samosa in Ramadan.

Gajar ka Halwa

One can not go wrong with a gajar ka halwa. It is the right amount of sweet and it is generally nice to look at. What can I say, I love red and white!

Sohan Halwa

Pakistani and Indian traditional sweet Sohan Halwa is originated from Multan, Pakistan. It is the specialty of Hafiz Halwa Shop Multan. They claim that Dewan Sawan Mal, the ruler of Multan during the 1700s, invented the recipe. It’s prepared by boiling the mixture of water, sugar, milk, and cornflour until it turns to thick form. Ghee prevents it from sticking to the pan and saffron gives it a unique flavor.

Multan ka Sohan Halwa is amongst one of our favorites. Beware of the fake ones, though.

Khopra Pak

Made of coconut, as the name suggests, Khopra Pak is the right amount of sweet. It comes in various colors but my favorite is the one in green color. A must try!

Sheer Khorma

Usually served on the first day of Eid after Eid namaz in order to mark the start of a day of celebration and feast. Sheer Khurma is usually enjoyed when hot and is made of milk, vermicelli, sugar, nuts, dry fruit, ghee and fragranced with cardamom, kewra or saffron. Sheer khurma is usually milky golden in color and can be thin or medium-thick depending on the cooking method.

Ras Malai

Ras malai is an innovative dessert derived from rasgulla sweet. It originated in north-east subcontinent present Bangladesh a long time ago and is such a one of a kind delicious dessert that its popularity spread out through Subcontinent like wildfire. Ras malai is white, soft and velvety balls cooked in creamy milk. Ras malai is made with paneer curd, milk, sugar and fragranced with cardamom, saffron, kewra or rosewater. It tastes best when cold.

Do you know when they say that the internet keeps the receipts? Well, we have had a first-hand experience on this one. No one and absolutely no one can get away from the wrath of internet trolling. However, some people are more used to it than others, and Nida Yasir is one of them.

Nida Yasir has again become the victim of internet trolls thanks to her poorly researched and cringey interview. Her interview became the talk of the town after an old clip of her morning show resurfaced on the internet.

The Interview Guests

Back in 2016, Nida invited two Nust students who invented a formula one racing car. The young men had developed the electric racing car and a group of people and were going to the Formula Student in the US. Despite being the interviewer, Nadia had no knowledge about the topic and hence started a series of dumb questions, which left the guests dumbfounded.

The Twitter Trolls

As soon as the video went viral on the internet, netizens started questioning the research skills of the host. Since Nida couldn’t even comprehend the idea of a Formula car, she even went on to ask some weird questions from the guests.

However, trolls had a great time making fun, yet some were divided as to why this is such a big deal since it can happen to anyone.

However, some moved on to mention that it’s not her fault that she doesn’t know anything about the car because most of us don’t know either.

Whether they choose to advertise or not is their act but the users worldwide are certainly aware of what these brands do and what they stand for.

1. Google

“Oh, you do not understand the phenomenon? Google it!”

This is what we say when someone is confused. We replace the word search with the brand name Google. Google now stands as a synonym for searching for something on the internet. Even if you use search engines such as Bing or Yahoo, you say that you ‘googled’ it. Is there even a need to advertise Google then?

2. Facebook

Unlike Google, Facebook has not yet been associated with any verb. However, it has become a part of the routine. You do not just need it to keep in touch with your friends. All the Facebook groups that you are part of, keep you apprised of the discussions in your community or all over the world. In fact, just recently I came across a post on Facebook where a user wanted to know the latest happenings in Afghanistan from fellow netizens because she did not want to ‘google’ it.

3. Instagram

Instagram, too, is a way of life. You get up and you scroll through what your favorite idols have been up to. You get to learn about people’s opinions through the stories they post. But seeing how the platform is a way of life and how everyone feels connected whenever you bring Instagram into the conversation, other brands use it in their advertising.

Imagine Instagram seeing itself in the advertising of Diamonds Factory and that, too, creatively.

4. WhatsApp

WhatsApp too gets promoted without paying for all that promotion. Don’t believe me? Do you not watch dramas? All the characters are sending each other voice notes. In fact, at times, the WhatsApp thread’s visuals are shown as well. Seeing other entities promote your product, at least I would not only be happy but realize that I don’t need to promote it anymore. Of course, where WhatsApp is concerned, the platform promoting itself would mean giving out timely updates.

5. Apple

Apple while it advertises, does not need to do so. The brand has set the mark. And now, when people need to look up something phone-related or compare their phone with (Samsung, ahem), they look up to Apple.

The stellar Feroze khan is currently enjoying all the love from his fans thanks to one of his most iconic performances on Khuda and Mohabbat season 3. As if we weren’t sure about the actor’s talent, we are in awe of his recent masterpiece.

Feroze Khan Separation Rumors

The rumors of Feroze and Alizeh’s separation started back in late 2020. However, it was only recently that the actor clarified everything. Previously, a lot of speculations were made about the relationship between the two. However, nothing was clear as of yet.

In a series of questions, Tabish moved on to ask Feroze a much-heated question about who spread the rumors about the couple’s separation?

In response to a question, Feroze said;

“When someone is planning a legacy, they are thinking about a five-year career or a 50-year career. What you ask God depends on you, but no one wants this cheap publicity, right?”

“I don’t want my son to grow up and ask me whether I was the one who planned everything,” he added. Much to the relief of fans, Feroze termed these rumors as cheap publicity.

Cosmetic Surgery Incident

In another follow-up question by the host, he shares a rather funny incident about a cosmetic procedure he got done after massive training for a campaign.

“I had to film a campaign underwater, and I was not satisfied with my body. So I worked out a lot. However, the result on my face was quite drastic as my face shrunk. And then I went on to get fillers done even though I was not the right candidate, according to the doctor. ”

“As soon as I got the fillers and I looked at myself. I was like, how do I get this thing dissolved?” He added.

“I was like damn, this is not me. I need to get this off.”

Later on, the actor added that he plans to stay in the line of work to spread a positive message regardless of the previous decision about quitting the showbiz.
