With the statistics on the rise, its time to get people diagnosed.

Ayesha Akram Case: Audio Tape Leaked, Lands Her & Fiance In Trouble

ayesha akram

Trigger Warning: This article contains information about the Minar-e-Pakistan incident and the victim, Ayesha Akram, that may be distressing to some readers.

[Update 12th October 2021]: Ayesha Akram divided Pakistanis like never before. Some people sided with her while others victim-blamed saying she should not have been at the park in the first place. Instead of showing fake sympathy, some gave reasons why the victim should not get the spotlight because the image of Pakistan is far greater than the respect of a female Pakistani. The recent turn of events may become a strong justification for that.

In alleged leaked audio, Ayesha and her fiance are having a discussion on the amount they should extort from the culprits. Rambo can be heard reminding Ayesha that the 7 culprits identified, all belong to poor communities so how much money should be taken from them. To that, Ayesha replied, they might not be able to give more than PKR 5 lacs each. Hear it for yourself:

Angry netizens are registering their fury on the matter.

One can only wonder the detrimental effect its existence will have on the motivation people show towards supporting victims God forbid the next time such an incident happens.

[Update 8th October 2021]: After more than a month of the Minar e Pakistan incident, more details are surfacing. Ayesha Akram, who was victim-blamed for quite some time on why she even went to the location on Independence Day has revealed an astonishing detail. As it turns out, the TikTok star, Ayesha, did not just get up and decided to go to Iqbal Park. In fact, she was blackmailed to go there.

For the past two years, a gang of 13 criminals was blackmailing her by leveraging pictures in which she was not completely dressed. Using those same pictures, she was told to come to Minar-e-Pakistan where the 13 gang members and other people started groping and assaulting her.

DIG Shariq Jamal Khan has instructed teams to capture the main accused amongst the 13 member gang. Following the orders, Lari Adda investigation police attempted to capture TikToker Badshah in Rawalpindi. The raid failed since the accused had already run away.

[Update 20th August 2021]: While the provincial capital of Punjab may have seen an exponential development in infrastructure and facilities, it is clear that they have lost the sense of humanity.

When Ayesha went to Minar e Pakistan to shoot a video of any nature whatsoever, FOUR HUNDRED men started assaulting and groping her. The triggering video showed her screaming as those horrible men threw her around. In a statement to a local news channel, she said that they yanked at her earrings and tore her clothes. “They jostled and threw me into the air as if I were a toy or have come from some other world,” she said. The men also snatched her purse, mobile, even her bracelet. It went on, she says, for almost three hours. Exhausted at one point, she lost consciousness so she does not remember if the police came to her rescue or ignored her.

But the dolphin squad, Zaman Qureshi claims that he did. Qureshi says that the moment he was made aware of the incident, he left to save Ayesha. But because the huge crowd, courtesy of Independence Day obstructed his path, it took him and his colleagues thirty minutes to get to the location. He further states that by the time they got there, Ayesha’s clothes were completely torn apart and she was unconscious. It took the police thirty minutes to reach the site but it was already 3 hours too late.

Human rights activist, Hassaan Niazi, meanwhile, has taken to Twitter explaining the role the police played, or rather not played, in the matter. Considering it was a Lahore policeman who saved Ayesha, the SP City must have been made aware of it as well. Hassaan Niazi claims that the SP knew but he did not let her register the FIR. In fact, the victim was sent home.

[17th August 2021]: After a series of harrowing cases of violence against women, a new one has emerged and is going viral. Watch the video at your own risk as it is not for the faint-hearted. The terrible case happened in daylight at one of the most popular spots in Lahore on “independence day”.

The Incident

The incident occurred on the 14th of August at Minar-e-Pakistan. The monument standing tall to commemorate Pakistan witnessed the worst of scenarios as a woman was preyed upon. A young girl is seen in the video trying to protect herself and is trying to get into a fetal position.

There seems to be a man accompanying her who is trying to pick her up and take her away. However, what is most traumatising and simply terrifying to watch is other men. Hundreds of men, acting worse than animals, are fighting to get to her. They are groping her, snatching her, and treating her like a free meal.

The Video Circulating on Social Media

A Case Is Registered

Lahore police have immediately registered a case against hundreds of unidentified persons. They have been charged for assaulting and stealing from a female TikToker and her companions. In the registered FIR the complainant stated details of the incident. She reported that she, along with six companions, was filming a video near Minar-e-Pakistan on Independence Day. Out of nowhere, 300-400 people “attacked” her.

The Lahore DIG Operations Sajid Kiyani has ordered the superintendent of police (SP) to take “immediate legal action” against the suspects. “The suspects should be traced with the help of the footage,” said the police officers in the report.

Help In The Moment

The complainant said that she and her friends tried to escape the crowd. The guards also opened the gate to the enclosure after seeing the situation. However, the crowd was huge and people were blocking the gate too. Moreover, after seeing the crowd, more people started coming towards her. The men who mishandled her were so violent that their actions also tore her clothes. She said many people tried to help her but the crowd was too huge. Men, in fact, also kept throwing her in the air.

We can’t imagine what she must have gotten through in the moment. The confusion, the fear, the pain all must have scarred the woman beyond belief. It is appalling to see the rate at which we regress as a society.

Pixel Pass By Google

On October 19th, Google will launch Pixel 6, and it is expected to create quite a lot of hype. Already, many people want to line up for the next-generation smartphone. Apart from that, the new Pixel Pass is making a lot more hype as well. It is said that this is definitely going to bring competition to Apple One bundle. With you getting a phone and services, this seems to be a hybrid subscription service.

This subscription has also been associated with Google Fi. Fi is the company’s telecommunication service that is available to customers in the U.S. However, it has not been confirmed yet whether this source is legitimate or not. The tweet below does show that it could be from an official Google internal document. Only the event could confirm to us now what we should expect from the company.

Google Moving Ahead

This shows us that the company is certainly making considerable bounds in its area of operation. They are moving into other domains as well. Just a while back, they announced a policy change for Ads promoting anti-climate change ideology.

The LSAs have gone on without breaking momentum, transforming from a LUX platform to Pakistan’s platform internationally. Our hashtag this is year is LSA4Pakistan.”

A heart-tugging performance by Asim Azhar in the middle of the awards made the audience emotional as he sang “Nimmi Nimmi” an original by the late Farhad Humayun, the Overload vocalist who was remembered for leaving this world too soon. An obituary video played behind Asim as he sang, featuring industry stalwarts who were no more. Tweets by celebrity friends were also shared on screen.

Television’s biggest night was swept by the two Hum TV serials Ehd e Wafa and Pyaar Kay Sadqay with Ehd e Wafa walking away with Best TV Serial and Yamna Zaidi sweeping the Best Actress Awards for Critics and Viewer’s Choice categories. 10 things that we loved at the 20th LUX Style Awards

  1. The star-studded anthem: Featuring 20 or more celebrities, the LSA anthem was yet another nod to #LSA4Pakistan
  2. Tabish Hashmi: The comedian’s sardonic wit and humour was something not experienced before at an award show. He kept the show alive by dropping in to roast nominees, something that we don’t see enough of in Pakistani shows.
  3. New Award: LUX initiated the important Change Maker’s Award for artists who push the envelope for their narrative of Pakistani women who bring about a change in society
  4. Celebrity Banter: With the different host combinations, we got to experience a variety of chemistry between Mehwish and Ahsan and Mehwish and Mansha Ahmed Ali Butt and Ahsan who’s birthday was celebrated on stage with Mehwish singing the birthday song
  5. Ample amount of Space: As a well-organized show with plenty of spread out photo opportunities, at no point were people squished together. The show followed proper SOPs throughout. This meant nobody was pushing anybody and the air conditioning was at chilled temperatures throughout.
  6. True star: Kudos to actor Ahad Raza Mir, who flew in from London for his three nominations and attended the event without demanding to know if he was winning. We love the sporting spirit of the true young star
  7. LUX Superstar: Mahira Khan was the star of the show with three impeccable performances
  8. LSA’s Anthem: Bilal Maqsood composed the LSA Anthem to commemorate the 20th Year. A star studded performance was a tribute to the emerging talent and the many personalities who have performed on the LSA stage
  9. Dressed to Thrill: We loved the ultra-feminine looks on the red carpet. From Mira Sethi in jewelled long gloves by Hussain Rehar, to Mushk Kaleem in a gorgeous trail Sana Safinaz the LSA look was classy and elegant
  10.  20 Years: The first Pakistani Awards Show to reach that milestone!!!

Parasailing Mishap At Khanpur Dam Is Raising Serious Concerns

khanpur dam

People who have traveled abroad will openly preach, “Oh, but Pakistan is so beautiful.” It sure is but not everyone just likes to enjoy scenic beauty, some people want to experience the adventure through thrilling activities. This is why, countries that are popular tourist destinations, invest in them. Yet, while people do endorse Pakistan as a tourist destination, domestic or otherwise, it has probably the worst maintenance of touristic activities which is clear from the recent Khanpur dam accident.

Read More: Tourism Pakistan: Chitral To Have It’s First Five-Star Hotel Soon

The mishap at the Khanpur Dam

At Khanpur Dam, you can find quite a few adventurous activities. One such activity is parasailing. It is similar to paragliding but it happens above water. A poor soul chose to experience what seemed like rare fun available in Pakistan. There were some helpers around him who prepared him for the journey. Little did he know that in a few seconds, he will get into an accident that might put his spine in danger.

The moment he started his parasailing ride and was slightly above water, the rope broke. The pressure of the wind pushed him back onto the sand where he fell. One can speculate the height from which he fell to be more than 35 feet easily.

Chair lift accident

This incident with regard to touristic activities is not in isolation. You must remember the horrifying incident of the Patriata chair lift. It was a tragedy. But is it really unexpected if the activities are not maintained; if certified skilled workers are not being hired; if the maintenance workers are the locals with no official training but rather their experience includes having seen others maintain it?

Read More: Pakistan’s First-Ever Tourism Channel Officially Launched

What’s worse is that because such practices continue, there is no upkeep of the equipment. Recently, in fact, it was brought to light that the chairlift at Ayubia should have gone out of service 20 years ago. Imagine the thousands of people who take the ride even today because what other activity can they indulge in.

ayubia chairlift

If Pakistan is being presented to the world as an eligible tourist destination, then maybe it is time for the authorities to take notice of these factors. The locals do not need to go out of job rather, the authorities can properly train them. The existing tools of these activities should be audited to see if they are outdated or not. Moreover, outdated equipment should definitely be replaced.

All over the internet, you will find people commenting on how there are better facilities abroad but not in Pakistan. This is why people are much more satisfied doing skydiving and paragliding in Turkey and Malaysia. Accidents can surely happen anywhere, but their proper upkeep limits the chances of incidents.

zaid ali baby

Zaid Ali and Yumna Zaid are perhaps the most famous Pakistani YouTube couple. Since their wedding, the two have owned the internet with their vlogs, their achievements, and whatnot. We were just obsessing with their new house when they announced that they were expecting their first baby! And just like that, they have revealed baby Izyan’s name. However, a new online debate has started… Here’s what it is!

Izyan Ali Zaid

The couple gave birth to a son who they named Izyan Ali Zaid. Kudos to them for picking such a unique and wonderful name. The couple initially kept their son’s face hidden from the public perhaps out of concern for the evil eye but now they have come around. When they shared Izyan’s pictures like this, their fans felt a great deal of FOMO.

The Big Reveal

However, in his latest vlog, it appears the couple decided to come around. They revealed Izyan Ali Zaid’s face to their fans and public – to millions of people. Zaid Ali especially asked everyone to please say Mashallah each time they see his son! Have a look at their son:

Trip Down Memory Lane

Izyan is one lucky child because his parents have already started making vlogs of him. The couple had collected several photos and videos of him that they included in the vlog, including his first bath video too. Baby Izyan looked every bit adorable and the effort in the vlog is the doting parents’ love for him.

The Online Debate

The comments everywhere under pictures of Zaid Ali’s son are focused on who he looks like. Typical desi response to seeing a child for the first time— we can’t help it! Every fresh pair of eyes has a different verdict on who Izyan Ali Zaid looks more like— his mother or his father or his grandparents?

So far, the comments have leaned more towards Izyan looking like his mother. Truth be told, we’re going to have to side with that. Izyan has his mother’s full cheeks and her eyes, making the two look like twins.

Yumna Zaid can really hold her baby up and genuinely be like “mini me” because it couldn’t be more true. While Zaid Ali will have to digest this news, for the time being, a baby’s face constantly keeps changing so there’s some hope for him.

Squid Game: The Scary Doll Originates From Korean Textbooks

Squid Game— the show on everybody’s mind. We have to admit, the hype is worth it. The intense, suspense-loaded and graphically overwhelming Korean show has many addicted to it. In just a matter of weeks, the show has broken several records and become the most-watched series on Netflix. Here’s a little about its inspiration:

The Red Light, Green Light Game

Out of all the games played on the show, this one has to be the most epic. The red light, the green light game is a classic played by children all over the world. In Pakistan, we mainly refer to it as stop and go game! It’s hilarious yet profound how in childhood, we’re the same as very different people.

The game also has the most memes made on it and why wouldn’t they be? The doll was creepy, funny, and terribly scary. But do you know where or what inspired the doll in Red Light, green light in Squid Game?

The Inspiration Behind The Doll

Someone on the internet pointed out what could have inspired the doll and they make a convincing case. This is a picture of a 1st grade textbook from Korea from the 70s! The girl in the picture has the same hairstyle and clothes on. Moreover, even the colour combination of the clothes is the same! This is the textbook cover:

Is Squid Game Deserving of Its Hype?

Squid Game is a special Korean series. We say special because unlike other shows on Netflix that gained tremendous popularity, Squid Game has no plot in short. It’s each episode follows a game and that’s about it. However, what hooks its audience is how emotion is displayed in the middle of the games. The uniqueness of the characters— can we get a round of applause for the old man? And, the twists and turns in the show!

For instance, when the team is about to lose in tug of war but the old man devises a strategy, it blows your mind. That’s not all— the secret operations inside and the entry of the policeman makes sure to keep you at the edge of your seat. You can never predict what’s to come next and that’s why it deserves the hype.

Free Fire and NGES Partnership Succeeds Yet Again

The second edition of the Free Fire Pakistan League took place in the fall of 2021. Following the success of the previous edition, NGES was once again in charge of all major and minor operations throughout the huge event’s organization.

NGES worked hard to gain government recognition for the country’s Esports ecosystem; consequently, FFPL II was endorsed by the Ministry of Information and Broadcasting (MOIB).

FFPL II

The success of FFPL I spurred many brands to get involved in Esports. NGES made the necessary moves and brought on board Bigo Live as the title sponsor, while Infinix became a co-partner for this year’s competition, with Fawad Chaudhry endorsing our event before meeting with the finalists himself. Representatives from BIGO and Infinix were also present at the final event.

FFPL II was a huge event, with more than 2000 teams from all over Pakistan registering for the competition. The final took place at Pearl Continental Hotel in Karachi with a 1500+ audience. Umair Jaswal performed our country’s national Anthem, followed by a spectacular stage performance – he really knows how to put together performances that will leave people breathless!

NGES managed the event flawlessly, from the construction of the grand stage through the procurement and logistics of technical and photographic equipment and critical elements such as internet and security. NGES broadcasted the event live on YouTube and other social platforms. The second edition of the FFPL was considerably larger than the first and was executed even better by the people of the Esports agency, NGES.

Conclusion

Team Hotshot won FFPL Season 2 and qualified for the Free Fire Asian Championship, which replaced the canceled Free Fire World Series owing to COVID limitations.

Samsung Galaxy S22 Ultra Dummy Unit Leaks – What Do You Think?

samsung galaxy S22 and model dummy leaked

Samsung has had quite a wonderful year, with its numerous developments. Even Google’s Pixel phone is looking to them for the manufacture of the tensor chips. The technological era is seeing advancements that might not have been possible a decade ago. Smartphones have become the new norm and continue to go through alterations. Now, the Samsung Galaxy S22 Ultra is something that people have been looking forward to. According to sources, it was leaked that Samsung was going for a note-intensive design. This meant having a cutout for the stylus slot as well.

For a while, these rumours stayed on the internet. However, now a new leak has just shown the Samsung Galaxy S22 Ultra phone in the form of a dummy model. Dummy models are shown to the public to give them an idea of what they could expect. From the video that was released, it seems that a lot of people might be right about this new phone. However, there were some differences from the initial leaks so we are not sure what to exactly expect.

Samsung Galaxy S22 Ultra Leak

The video that was leaked online, showed quite a lot about the smartphone’s design. Despite there being other leaks before, this one seems the most convincing so far. However, one of the changes we saw was the absence of a pen slot. Maybe the company does not intend to include it, rather make it into a smartphone with a note design. Of course, it is possible that the Samsung Galaxy S22 base variants have the stylus, while the ultra version is without it.

In terms of camera, the phone seems to have a quad array, with rounded corners on the sides. Not only does this give a comfortable grip, but it also lessens the chance of an impact leading to screen damage. This model seems exactly like the previous ones that were rendered so this might just be an official one.

New Releases For 2022

We are nearing the end of 2021 and there is still a lot that might happen. Who knows, maybe the company decides to release more models in between other budget phones. Samsung has never been one to end on a quiet note so we can expect to hear quite a lot from them before the year is up.

Pakistani Girls Open up About Their Horrifying Rishta Experiences

rishta culture pakistani girls

Rishta culture is the single most toxic culture that exists in our society or better yet in all of South Asia. It has ruined mental healths, driven people to develop low self-esteem and is tough on so many young hearts and minds. Here’s how people are exposing it and writing against it.

The Thread on Twitter

This girl’s tweet spiralled into a thread on Twitter. She ranted about the rishta culture on Twitter in which she found out what a woman had said to a young girl. The rishta aunty commented on the girl’s hair with such a small-minded comment that it has left many baffled. Here’s what was said:

People’s Responses

Netizens on Twitter were shocked and surprised at this comment. People are now having enough of these mindless comments, irrelevant hate and whatnot in the rishta culture. This barrage of comments on possible replies and feelings is showing us just how angry millennials are:

Who Is At Fault?

Many people shared how it was not the rishta aunty at fault here, the girl’s parents. Rishta aunties are notorious for this kind of behaviour and thinking. Haven’t we learnt enough from Indian Matchmaking?

People have questions for the parents. Why would they let their daughter be treated this way by a stranger who espouses this mindset? Why would they invite such a person to their home? The reality, however, is not that ideal.

Our culture has taught us collectively that it is the most shameful thing for parents if their daughters are not married. It has taught women that being scrutinised this way and commented on like this is normal. It is for their own benefit.

rishta culture pakistani girls

Other Experiences

Many others also felt confident enough to share their experiences. Here are all the horrifying things/words they have been subjected to. Whether it is ridiculous or hilarious, we can not tell. All we know is that women deserve better.

The Brewing Change

However, if this thread has taught us anything, it is that change is brewing. Millennials are now coming together to put an end to this culture and this toxicity. Netizens and young minds alike are realising that people do not need to change. Especially women do not have to change, the culture has to.

This system has ruined lives for far too long to continue now. Be the change you wish to see in the world.

This “Matka Pizza” In Lahore Has Taken The Fun Out Of Pizza

This "Matka Pizza" Has Taken The Mazza Out Of Pizza

Who thought we could see a day where we would be able to try every kind of dish in our traditional handi? Yes, you heard that right. And while we have seen limca, tea, handi, biryani, and many other things served in a matka, Pizza is not one of them, or let us rephrase; Pizza was not one of them. Sorry to all the Italians, this is a Pakistani thing.

Matka Pizza

New street food on the block is a Matka Pizza that is going viral for all the right reasons. Those who have tried it have a lot to say about it. At the same time, those who haven’t can’t wait to dig in one. And while we still can’t wrap our head around the dish, let us break down how it looks and tastes like.

The Matka Pizza offers a blend or mixture of every ingredient you can find on a pizza. Since the inside of a Matka is not flat, there is no possible way to line it with dough. However, bread is broken down into different pieces and mixed with all the other ingredients, including cheese, hot sauce, herbs, olives, and the veggies of your choice. Then you mix it, pour it into the clay pot, and top it off with more cheese and vegetables. Then to cook it, all you need to do is bake it in your microwave until the cheese is all meltdown. Seems rather easy, right? But does it taste good or not? We will leave it to the twitter reviews.

While the Twitter user shared the snippet from the eatery as she questioned the creativity levels of Pakistanis, the majority was eager to try and comment on the taste themselves. However, those who have tried it already went on about how overpriced and overrated this dish is.

Take a look at some of the comments.

Like the tagline mentions, “Shoes for everyone,” the word everyone encompasses every single soul around the globe.  Angry much?

4. SweetTouch

The cheap nail polishes that you get for Rs. One hundred each does not belong to any local company, but to an international cosmetic company called SweetTouch. This very affordable company is a global brand.

5. Walls

We grew up eating Wall’s ki ice-cream, but we never knew that this was an international brand too!

6. Suzuki Mehran

The National Car of Pakistan, Mehran, is also the-not-so-Pakistani car which is available in almost all developing countries. Remember “Kamo” from 3-Idiots and how her in-laws were demanding “Maruti 800” from Raju’s family? Yes! They were talking about our very own Mehran only. This must be you right now!

7. Hyperstar (Carrefour)

The public isn’t a fool to drool over the much-hyped Hyperstar for no reason. It is also another international brand. It is a flagship store of the very famous Carrefour.

What is your take on this? Are you shocked or not? Do let us know in the comments section.

There has been a major policy change at Google as well as YouTube. It seems that this change was in effect because it was needed. For the past years, a lot of misinformation has been spread on climate change. Many people consider it a hoax when it is a serious issue that is getting dire day by day. Every day, we hear news related to extreme temperatures in various parts of the world. Karachi has certainly seen its fair share of fluctuating temperatures in 2021. Even now, before we saw the outskirts of a storm, the city saw quite a lot of heat.

Now, it seems that Google has announced a new policy change. According to this policy, the platform will not support advertisements that are placed next to Climate change misinformation. People can no longer earn money by the promotion of climate change news that hoaxes. It is better to not support a point of view that goes against the facts that we already know.

Google And A Policy

There have already been many obstructions in the fight for preserving the climate. Many people are out to protest and call it a hoax, causing political advancements to halt. Now, Google has decided to put an end to it. Advertisements and publishings will no longer be posted with Climate change misinformation. Not only is it causing a setback in the protection of the climate, but it is also spreading quite a lot of fake news. People don’t want to read something that has already been deemed fake.

Aside from Google, YouTube also has an extension of this policy. Content creators on YouTube can no longer earn money by promoting false news on climate change. Neither does it help the environment nor does it assist any person. It is only bringing a fake agenda forward. The internet giant has also said that this policy change aligns with their effort to battle climate change.
