Alibaba Hosts ‘Pakistan Seller Summit’ To Open Doors Of Opportunities To 190 Countries For Pakistani Businesses

Lahore, 29th December, 2021: A vibrant event ‘Pakistan Seller Summit’ was held today in Sialkot by Alibaba, to welcome the local businesses to join this resourceful platform. Highly interactive discussions were held by leading experts from Alibaba, along with specialists of global-logistics, senior bureaucrats and officials from Pakistani trade-associations, to train more than 200 participating entrepreneurs.

Alibaba is a globally leading digital platform and has now enabled access for the Pakistani businesses, allowing them to list their stores, to sell their products to B2B buyers around the globe.

The title of the summit was “Unlock Business Growth Code – Nonstop business opportunity with export e-commerce”. The forum also recognized successful sellers, whose businesses have grown multifold, facilitated by export ecommerce at Alibaba. Special facilities are now being offered by Daraz (Alibaba Group) to build capacity and improve performance of the SMEs in Sialkot. The speakers also engaged the sellers who have been impacted by the Covid-19 pandemic, while sharing case-studies of success stories; how Alibaba helps to boost the business.

Shabina Gillani stated: “This event promises to empower local businesses, by nurturing e-commerce in Pakistan by enabling global accessibility and nurturing e-commerce in Pakistan. The president from Sialkot Chamber of Commerce and the other industrial associations enlightened the participants about how the SMEs can grasp the emerging opportunities for online business ventures. Valuable data and insights about the performance of each product-category and the buyers’ preferences were shared. This summit has achieved great milestones for recruiting new SME business to join Alibaba.com.”
Sectors that can gain exceptional advantages by enabling digital trade & overseas logistics, include the Surgical-Gloves Industry of Sialkot, as it exports large quantities across many countries. With this technology, Alibaba are introducing a digital solution for comprehensive B2B export. Many effective solutions were also suggested for partnering logistic companies to ensure long term environmental and commercial sustainability. Experts believe that global accessibility will also reduce the economically-damaging trend of cross-border smuggling in Sialkot region.

The event was hosted offline, through Zoom, Facebook and the official website of Alibaba, while it was live-streamed online. Just a while back, we came to know that a Changan SUV was on its way to Pakistan. We even had multiple sources report it being spotted as a unit to be built here. That vehicle was the Oshan X7 Plus. From the specifications that were revealed, it was said to be a Suv that could stand up alongside competitors like Fortuner and Sorento. Now, new images of the vehicle have leaked, proving further that it is headed to Pakistan, for sure!

Changan Moving Up

The Changan Oshan X7 Plus is available abroad in a 5 seater capacity. However, it has been told that Pakistan might get the 7 seater option as well. This would make it the first vehicle to be reaching the dual option, depending on what the user wants. Additionally, the X7 Plus is going to have a 1.5 Turbocharged engine with tremendous capabilities. No matter where you take it, whatever terrain it is, this vehicle will be able to handle it. That is not all that is impressive about it. It has also been claimed that the fuel average of the vehicle is going to be higher.

The fuel average is expected to be quite as high as 14 kilometers to the liter. That is highly impressive for a Suv since this is an average that is seen in sedans. Changan is breaking quite a lot of barriers with this release. We are still not sure about the price of the vehicle but we shall update you when we come across it. As far as the expected launch date is concerned, we can inform you that it will be somewhere in the early 2022 area.

With this release, it would be confirmed that Changan has become a part of the Suv race. Education is quite essential for every person to be exposed to. Without it, people might find themselves robbed of quite a useful skill in life. Among the many areas of study in a Masters’s degree, is Happiness. Yes, the concept that we know and love, has a field of study available.

It is a specialization, within Master’s, that has just arrived in Pakistan. According to sources, the University of Health Sciences (Lahore) has taken the decision to initiate this program. There is a lot that is aimed at establishing this field but learning about happiness and integrating it into everyday tasks is something that can be taught here. It is a widely recognized degree that is now available in Pakistan and people can opt for it if they wish to use it as a tool for their life later on.

The Fun-Filled TECNO-Hios Event Concludes Successfully In Lahore

TECNO HIOS FANS Cafe was successfully held in Lahore on Sunday with dozens of young fans, well-known mentors, industry pacesetters, and tech developers. The event was held to announce and celebrate the latest HiOS 8.0 Update in the latest Camon 18 Series.

The event was filled with fun activities. The session started with a training session by the national trainer, Arsalan Zahid, where an Introduction of HiOS Update, Utilization, and Functions were explained in detail. The participants were thoroughly communicated about the usage and importance of these new updates. Zahid said,

Dolphin Squad Spotted Torturing Citizens In Lahore

In today’s news, the Dolphin Squad was spotted torturing citizens in yet another incident of Punjab Police’s high handedness in the provincial capital. The organisation was formed to improve police emergency response and to safeguard the life of the citizens. However, time and again, the Doplhin Squad has assured the public of their incapacitated capabilities and poor infrastructure.

This has happened with the Dolphin Squad, a specialised patrolling wing built by the Punjab government to promote 15 emergency call response mechanisms and promote community policing over the years.

Dolphin Squad Incident 

The incident has been reported in the Sanda area of Lahore, around two days ago. The report mentions the Dolphin Squad team was physically assaulting and misbehaving with two men in the busy market.

The footage, which was captured by a person standing on the upper floor of a building, showed two Dolphin Squad officials thrashing the persons with punches and kicks.

The violent video also shows two armed men without uniforms abusing and kicking the citizens.

As the video went viral, social media users urged concerned officials to take notice of the incident. Meanwhile, the police spokesperson has not commented on the matter as of yet.

Previous Incidents 

In a most recent incident, a citizen who called 15 for police help during a dispute in the Township area was shot at by an official of the Dolphin Squad. In another instance, the Squad team had shot at a shopkeeper in Abdali Chowk, Islampura. The victim had called for help after falling victim to an armed robbery.

Earlier, members of the force had inadvertently shot dead a teenage boy while chasing some suspected robbers on the Band Road and also shot dead a woman who had been returning home from her office in Naseerabad in a separate incident.

A former DIG, Dr. Haider Ashraf, under whose command the squad was launched in Lahore, had said in an interview that the dolphin, was considered to be a symbol of love and affection. It was introduced to promote community policing, he had said. However, it has failed to live up to its purpose and mission.

TikTok Overtakes Google As Most Popular Online Destination

Google is, for more online denizens, irreplaceable. Internet users log into the Gmail in the morning, they use Google Search throughout the day, and as necessary dabble in Google Books, Maps, News, Photos, and Translate. It’s no surprise then that Google, as a domain, has long been the more popular than any other.

That’s no longer true, however, as of late 2021. Google has been overtaken by an app built for short, funny videos. TikTok is now the top-ranked domain on the internet.

Cloudflare’s Ranking 2021

The report comes from Cloudflare’s end-of-year review, which breaks down all things internet. Cloudflare explains that while Google may have dominated 2020, 2021 has been something completely different. TikTok won its first day on February 17, then claimed several more during March and May. By August, TikTok was winning more days against Google than it was losing to it, a trend that’s persisted through November and particularly strongly in December.

2020 Cloudflare’s Ranking

A similar report from Cloudflare made for the end of 2020 shows how dramatic TikTok’s climb has been. In late 2020, TikTok was tracked as the seventh most popular domain. It placed below Amazon and above YouTube. At the time, Facebook was firmly in place below Google as the second most popular domain, though it rarely overtook Google. While TikTok did surge for a time prior to November 2020, it wasn’t until February that it truly surged, followed by drops in May and July each followed by additional surges.

The social media landscape hasn’t otherwise changed significantly outside of TikTok’s rapid growth. Just below Tiktok are Facebook and YouTube. Below those two platforms comes Twitter, which climbed above Instagram since 2020 and is the only other position swap of the top ten. Then, unchanged from 2020, there’s Snapchat, Reddit, Pinterest, LinkedIn, and Quora. Quora, notably, fell dramatically out of the top 100 overall domains of the year. Snowfall has begun in Murree and it is nothing less than a winter wonderland within our own country. The northern areas are being swarmed by tourists as people rush on the weekends and the new years holidays to enjoy the snow. The Assistant Commissioner said that Murree has the capacity to hold approximately 4000 vehicles. As of this weekend, there are 50,000 cars in Murree. Thus, due to the overwhelming rush, the local administration and traffic cops have been deployed on the roads too.

The assistant commissioner is advising all the tourists in Murree to stay updated. He has advised tourists to get weather updates and traffic-related information prior to their travel to Murree and within Murree. Many places in Nathiagali have thus been restricted too. Heavy army machinery has also reached Murree to clear the snow.

Tourists have been advised by the AC to especially keep the air pressure in their vehicles’ tyres low.
