Suzuki Car Prices in Pakistan Increase by PKR 30,000!

Update: Pak Suzuki has once again announced a revised price-tag for the Suzuki 1.0L Cultus VXL AGS and 1.3L and Suzuki Swift variants according to the notification circulated by the official dealerships.

Previously, the automotive manufacturer had raised its prices on 30th March however, Suzuki had left these particular models out.

Now with an increase in the price, the Cultus VXL AGS now costs PKR 16.68 lac, whereas the Swift DLX NAV (manual) now costs PKR 15.85 lac and Swift DLX NAV A/T is available for PKR 17.21 lac.

The new rates are applicable from 1st May 2019 onwards.

Update: Pak Suzuki car prices have increased yet another time in Pakistan. The automotive giant has shared a notice with the revised prices.

According to it, the brand has increased prices of not one or two but 7 vehicles including the Suzuki Bolan, Cultus VXL, Cultus VXR, Wagon R VXL, Wagon R VXR, Mehran VXR, and Mehran VX.

The new prices are effective from today, 1st April 2019 onwards.

Update: Pak Suzuki car prices in Pakistan 2019 have once again witnessed a drastic change. The manufacturer has raised the prices as a New Year’s gift for their fans and customers.

In 2018, the brand had increased their price for their vehicles more than 5 times. It is being expected that the price-hike trend will continue throughout 2019 as well. The reason behind this hike is due to the devaluation of the Rupee against the Dollar.

According to CarSpirit, the current price increase on locally assembled units ranges from Rs 30,000-Rs 40,000, whereas the imported units have been increased from Rs 100,000-300,000 respectively.

Suzuki car prices in 2018 have now risen for the 5th time. Once again, the reason behind the increase is due to the devaluation of the Rupee against the Dollar.

Automotive manufacturers have dramatically suffered from the staggering Rupee as importing car parts has become super expensive.

The revised Suzuki car prices will be effective from today, 1st November. The new prices are as follows:

KIA Motors Pakistan Prices Increased for Carnival & Frontier!

Suzuki has increased up to Rs 40,000 on their vehicles. Mainly the models affected by the constant currency drop is WagonR, Cultus, and Suzuki Swift.

The company has already announced to discontinue the 800cc Mehran and is only delivering the units already booked. The 8th gen Alto will replace the variant in early 2019.

Accordingly, Suzuki’s lineup including the imported options remain unaffected, however, if the fluctuation continues, the brand may have to reconsider.

Everyone remembers how Samsung Galaxy Note 7 shook the world when reports about it randomly exploding filled social media.

Following the incident, the brand did everything possible to prevent such incidents from occurring in the near future. However, it looks like their efforts have gone in vain.

A South Korean man has claimed that his Galaxy S10 5G caught fire just after a couple of days of purchasing.

Samsung Galaxy Fold Screens are Breaking & Users are Freaking Out!

Identified as Mr. Lee, he claims that the phone was only in his possession for 6 days.  Reportedly, the set caught fire after overheating.

Lee further added that his phone was laying flat on the table surface and was not connected to a power source at the time of the outburst.

However, Samsung has refused to offer him a replacement phone or refund on the grounds that the Galaxy S10 5G caught fire because of an external factor and not an internal glitch.

To this, Lee shared that after it had caught fire he threw the set on the ground which could have caused the external damage.

As of now, Samsung has not responded any further about the matter. As of now, there is no confirmation as to what caused the fire.

However, it is to be noted that Samsung’s Galaxy S10 5G debuted in South Korea just a few weeks ago with a 4,500mAh battery, the biggest ever from the smartphone manufacturer.

Pakistani cricketer and all-rounder Shadab Khan has been dropped from playing the England ODI after being diagnosed with Hepatitis C.

Reportedly, Khan had contracted this virus from a visit to his dentist. According to a source close to the sportsman, he had been experiencing some pain in his tooth for which he visited a dentist in Rawalpindi.

He was infected because the equipment at the dentist’s office was not properly sterilized. Khan’s participation in the ICC World Cup 2019 is also in danger.

The diagnosis was confirmed after a blood sample was taken from the players ahead of the ODI series against England. He was sent to London for treatment and has now returned home. His fitness in the next few weeks will determine whether he will be a part of the world cup squad or will have to sit it out.

As of now, Shadab Khan has been replaced with leg-spinner Yasir Shah.

Reportedly, the Punjab Government has decided to revise and launch better packages for registered labors with higher wages under their ultimate plan.

Health cards and other benefits will also be considered under the labor package. Chief Minister Sardar Usman Buzdar will distribute allotment letters of quarters to workers besides Insaaf Sehat Cards.

He will also allocate 208 flats among industrial workers in Labour Colony Walton reports Urdupoint. Furthermore, a special meeting was held under the chair of Chief Minister at his office to discuss the special package to provide maximum relief to labors.

I am also monitoring the ground realities by visiting various districts. However, no one will be allowed any interference in the mission of public service. The opinion of the public representatives is given credence for finalizing development schemes -CM Sardar Usman Buzdar

Reportedly, Provincial ministers Ansar Majeed Khan Niazi and Dr. Yasmin Rashid and others attended the meeting. Labour Minister Ansar Majeed Khan Niazi and the Secretary Labour briefed the CM.

The Child Marriages Restraint (Amendment) Bill, 2018 was passed by the Senate on Monday. The bill legalizes the minimum age of marriage to be at least 18 in Pakistan.

While presenting the bill, Senator Sherry Rehman quoted a report and research conducted by the United Nations Children’s Fund that over 21% of Pakistani children are married-off before the age of 18.

She added that many other Muslim majority countries have accepted this law and have set 18 as the minimum age for marriage, including Turkey, Oman, and the United Arab Emirates as well.

The Senator also enlightened the members about the health issues faced by young girls who get impregnated at an early age due to these marriages and often scumble to their fate.

However, though there were objections, the Senate passed the bill and it will now be tabled at the National Assembly. The main aim of the bill is to reduce the number of child marriages and decrease immortality rates in Pakistan while saving women from exploitation.

Furthermore, the bill also calls for punishment for those individuals who are found guilty of going about underage child marriages with up to 3 years in jail and at least Rs 100,000 in fine, or both.

A notification was released to officially announce timings of offices that operate 5 days a week and for those who follow a 6-day week schedule.

Those offices that operate 5 days a week will open at 09:00 AM and close at 03:30 PM (from Monday to Thursday).

For Friday, the work hours will be from 9 AM to 1 PM.

Those offices that operate 6 days a week will open at 09:00 AM and close at 02:00 PM.

For Friday, the work hours will be from 9 AM to 12 PM.

According to Pakistan Metrological Department (PMD), Ramadan moon is likely to be sighted on Monday evening, May 6, 2019

Consequently, the holy month is expected to begin on May 7.

A press released by PMD states:

The new moon of Ramzan, 1440 AH will be born on crossing conjunction point at 03-45 PST on 05- 05-2019.

Astronomical parameters of the new moon and average cloud amounts at Pilot Balloon Observatories of Pakistan Meteorological Department are attached herewith.

According to astronomical parameters, there is No Chance of sighting the new moon of Ramzan, 1440 AH on the evening of 05-05-2019 i.e. on 29th of Shaban, 1440 AH.

According to climate record, the weather is expected fair/partly cloudy in most parts of the country.

A PMD expert stated: 

“The new moon will be 15 hours and 18 minutes old by the time sun sets on Sunday, May 5 in Pakistan, and it will be only seven degrees above the horizon”

Countries in the Middle East and Saudi Arabia will likely witness the Ramadan moon on May 5 with the first fast to be on May 6

 

Sri Lanka Postpones Free Visa on Arrival for Pakistan

Sri Lanka has now suspended its plans to allow free visa on arrival to citizens of 39 countries, including Pakistan

The decision in light of the devastating Easter suicide bombings that reportedly killed 360 people.

Tourism Minister, John Amaratunga said in a statement:

“Although arrangements were in place to issue visas on arrival for citizens of 39 countries, we have now decided to hold it for the time being in consideration of the current security situation.”

Earlier it was reported by Khaleej Times that Sri Lanka was rolling out free visa on arrival for citizens of 39 countries and Pakistan was also on the list.

In a bid to boost tourism, Sri Lanka was opening doors to travelers from the United States, Canada, the United Kingdom, the European Union, Australia, New Zealand, Thailand, Singapore, Malaysia, and South Korea.

The promotion was supposed to be effective from May 1 and was likely to continue until six months.

The South Asian country was aiming to lure in tourist to for the Yala monsoon season, which runs from May to August.

KE LIVE: K-Electric Launches its Mobile App

Adding yet another avenue for customer service K-Electric has launched the KE Live app for its consumers.

The app, which allows access to a variety of services, is available on the App store for iPhone users as well as on the Google Play store for Android users.

Alternatively, the app can also be downloaded from the web portal, https://live.ke.com.pk.

With smartphone penetration in Pakistan on the rise and with most users residing in the largest urban center of Karachi, it only makes sense to launch an app.

After signing up the user will have access to a number of features such as billing details with historic data, duplicate bill downloads, and integrated unit consumption comparative graphs.

Other features include live power status update, the ability to report power theft and to lodge complaints. Consumers will also be able to use the app to locate their nearest customer care center.

A KE spokesperson said, “We have always believed in providing state of the art solutions to our customers. The launch of the app fits right in with KE’s use of technology and innovation in its customer-centric approach. We already offer a wide range of avenues to address consumer requests ranging from 30 customer care centres spread across its network, as well as one of the largest call centers state of the art consumer experience platform.”

In recognition of its efforts towards maximizing convenience for customers through state-of-the-art digital solutions, KE has won several awards including ‘Best Digital Media Team’ award at the Pakistan Digi Awards 2018 for the second consecutive year. K-Electric also won the ‘Best Use of Technology’ award in the ‘Best Customer Innovation’ category at the Genesys G-Summit Middle East 2017, held in Dubai. This was the first time a Pakistani company won an award at this regional platform.

The power utility also offers facilitation at consumers’ doorstep with mobile vans and round the clock engagement via social media forums. The KE Live app is expected to greatly enhance the user experience and improve their relationship with customers.
