MBA Programs in Canada: Pakistani Students Reportedly Face Visa Rejection!

Canada has always been one of the top choices for students who consider going abroad to join programs or get international degrees.

The Graduate Management Admissions Council says Canadian business schools reported a 7.7% rise in applications last year, majority of it coming from international students.

Universities Canada shared that admissions witnessed full-time foreign student enrollment rise by about 15% between 2017-18, with 572,415 study permits issued last year, up from just 122,665 in 2000.

Pakistani students apply in masses to get into MBA programs in Canada. Unfortunately, those students, despite getting admission in their desired program, are denied visas.

Fazley Siddiq, the University of New Brunswick professor, who has also served as dean of the business department shared that students from countries like Nigeria and Pakistan are often rejected despite getting admission. He further on shares that while the situation is improving for Nigerian individuals, things are not so well for Pakistanis.

Pakistan’s High Commission in Ottawa has urged federal government officials to address the “very high” visa rejection rate for students belonging to Asia.

Google and Apple have been strong rivals for some time now. Recently, Google CEO Sundar Pichai wrote an opinion related piece in which he took a subtle dig at Apple.

Once again, Google has taken yet another hit at Apple in the form of an ad. A new billboard which was promoting the iPhone X was overruled by a next-to-similar ad for Pixel 3a.

Both ads have the same background and location, however, iPhone X has been priced at $999 and has a darker background while the Pixel 3a is priced at $399 with a brighter and more detailed background.

Pak Suzuki has made headlines since the introduction of the new Suzuki Alto 660cc variant. There is tough competition in the market nowadays with the coming of foreign brands, thus the introduction of new cars is evident.

New Luxury Buses in Karachi to be Launched by Sindh Government

During a press conference held on over the weekend, the Sindh Transport Minister announced a new bus service project which will be launched in Karachi.

The Government of Sindh has signed an agreement in collaboration with Daewoo, a Korean transport company, under which 1,000 new luxury buses will be introduced in the metropolitan.

“The Sindh government is on standby to remove encroachments from the land of the KCR [Karachi Circular Railway] whenever Sheikh Rashid issues the NOC for the purpose. Sheikh Rasheed should come here as we are ready to work together,” said Syed Awais Qadir Shah, Transport Minister Sindh.

During the project’s early phase, the buses will run on 40 different routes. Two months later the second phase of the project will begin.

In the second phase, 200 more buses will be added and the project will be expanded to other cities as well.

The buses will run on CNG, and the city’s CNG shortage will not affect the project. Moreover, all the buses running under this project will be air-conditioned.

Honda to Start Production in Pakistan!

Currently, a fleet of 10 buses is being operated under the bus service mainly on Shahra-e-Faisal, connecting Dawood Chowrangi in Landhi to Merewether Tower.

Also, it should be noted that the Bus Service is being launched without using public funds and funding support.

Reportedly, they were committing fraud with their customers and were arrested for the crime.

Reportedly, the Careem Captains were taking more money than charged from the customers. i.e if a customer’s fare was Rs. 130 but they were charged with Rs. 200 instead.

Furthermore, the report also claims that fake accounts were set up using National Identification Cards of individuals to continue the fraud.

Google is Paying iPhone Users to Switch to Pixel 3a!

Google has now started to bribe iPhone users to switch to Google Pixel 3a for a sum of up to $600!

Google officially revealed the mid-ranged Pixel 3a and 3a XL smartphones at Google I/O 2019 this week.

Soon, as expected, it became the talk of the town as it came with a price range of $400 onwards.

To promote their new devices, Google is accepting a device trade-in from Samsung, LG, Huawei, and Motorola.

If users purchase the set before 18th May, the brand will throw in a $100 gift card for Google PlayStore.

Google will give you up to $470 for an iPhone X and even as much as $610 for an iPhone XS Max trade-in, which covers the price of a Pixel 3a XL easily!

The holy month of Ramadan 2019 is here and the traffic situation in Karachi has worsened.

From Sehri and Iftar, there is constant hustling and bustling on food streets as Karachhites are carrying on Eid shopping and salon trips, leaving roads jam-packed.

According to recent news, Javed Ali Mahar, Deputy Inspector General of Police (DIGP) Traffic Karachi has instructed officials to ban the entrance of auto-rickshaws and taxis on Tariq Road, P.E.C.H.S after 15th Ramzan.

He carried out the order on Thursday, May 9th, 2019, owing to the increased traffic flow for Eid shopping.

He also met with representatives of Tariq Road traders’ association to discuss how the flow of traffic on the road can be improved during Ramadan 2019.

The issue of parking was also discussed, so that masses visiting Tariq Road for shopping may not face traffic jams the way they usually do at this time of the year.

The Reason Behind Karachi’s Poor Traffic Plan

The traffic situation of any area depends greatly on the rules and supervision overseen by the administration.

Karachi’s culture of traffic mainly consists of chaos and congestion, mainly owing to factors like:

  • Drivers breaking traffic signals and laws
  • Increase in the use of cell phones while driving
  • Mismanagement and negligence by Traffic Police
  • The condition of roads and subsequent blocking of roads due to construction

While the majority reportedly uses private vehicles for commuting, para-transit (Rickshaw, Taxis) is also a relatively common mode of transport in Karachi.

It is para-transit that is mostly highlighted as one of the major hindrances on places like Tariq Road.

Sham Idrees Told Me to Fake Punch Froggy: Claims Local YouTuber

The YouTube war among Pakistani Vloggers is getting interesting with every passing day.

With so much drama in the air, social media is now getting irked with new developments every day.

However, one has to admit, this controversial battle among Pakistani YouTubers just cannot get any more entertaining.

Sham Idrees & Wife Froggy Mob Attack: Here’s What YouTubers Are Saying!

Recapping it All

We all know how Sham and Froggy apparently got attacked by a mob during a meet and greet.

Froggy claimed that she got punched and blamed Ducky Bhai for the violence.

Later, Rahim Pardesi called out Froggy for lying about getting hit in the face.

And now a local YouTuber has released a video claiming that Sham gave him money to stir an attack and fake punch Froggy during the meetup.

A New Twist in the Tale

The YouTube channel of M Asim Maqsood has as many as 62 videos uploaded with the highest number of views recorded as 3,839,981. The YouTuber has kept his subscriber count private and mostly uploads prank videos.

Asim claimed that he was a big fan of Sham and used to often chat with him while Idrees was in Canada.

He stated that when the entire Sham Idrees Vs Ducky Bhai controversy began, he received a message from Sham saying he will collaborate with him and give him a shout out if he does an assignment for him.

According to Asim, Sham told him to come at Karachi’s meet and greet, pretend to misbehave with Froggy and fake punch her. After much consideration, Asim turned the offer down.

It is to be noted that the YouTuber provided NO PROOF to his claims.

However, he asked for help from fellow YouTubers on how he can upload call records and message in his next video and make them public.
