One of the latest additions to ARY Digital, Meri Baji drama aims to highlight the issues and lifestyle of people belonging to the lower class of our society.

It revolves around women who work as maids in order to make both ends meet and the good and bad sides of their stories!

Plot of Meri Baji

Nasreen (Javeria Abbasi), a mother of 3 daughters, works as a maid to earn bread for her family since her abusive husband Sharafat (Rashid Farooqui) doesn’t take any of their responsibilities.

Nasreen’s eldest stepdaughter Rabia, played by Kiran Tabeer, dreams of a lavish lifestyle by marrying someone wealthy. She also works as a maid and has set her eyes on a rich guy, who happens to be her mistress’s fiancé. The second stepdaughter Neelofar (Aroha Khan) is responsible for taking care of the house chores while Nasreen is at her job. She is a simple girl and Sharafat wants to marry her off to one of his friends in exchange for some money. While the youngest one Chutki (Hira Ahmed) wants to become a doctor but burdened by her family problems, she also has to work as a maid!

Complaining about the slow internet? Guess what! Pakistan has ranked above neighbour India in 4G speed. As big of a shock, it might be for some, it’s true!

Considering that 4G technology became available in Pakistan 4 years after India, this is an accomplishment on its own.

The report drafted by OpenSignal, a wireless internet firm based in the UK, has highlighted the current state of 4G in Asain countries.

Importance of 5G for Smartphone Users & Gamers in Pakistan!

Australia and New Zealand were also a part of the list with Pakistan, India, and other countries. For now, the average 4G speed in Pakistan is 13 Mbps whereas it is just 6 Mbps in India.

Other countries which also meet the same 4G speed as Pakistan include Sri Lanka and Canada. Whereas Singapore topped the charts at #1 being the highest seed provider of 44 Mbps whereas South Korea places at #2 with 40 Mbps.

Fawad Khan was recently in Saudi Arabia to perform Hajj with his wife, Sadaf. The superstar was also invited to Hajj’s closing ceremony, hosted by the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia’s Ministry of Media.

It was indeed a great moment of pride for the actor to represent Pakistan at the coveted event.

While Khan made sure that his spiritual journey remains a secret and away from all media limelight, the heartthrob has finally opened up about his Holy Pilgrimage.

Speaking to Arab News, the humbled hero revealed that he felt at ease being an ordinary person amongst 2.4 million people at Hajj.

“You feel comfortable because you are in the same space with other people who bare their hearts to God. You feel just like any other person among them. And you are not under media scrutiny as you are on normal days”

““It feels nice to be a face in the crowd.”

We finally know why the superstar remained hushed about his whole trip to Saudi Arabia.

“A close associate said to me, ‘When the call comes from Allah, you must go.’ So when we got the invitation from the Ministry of Media, we happily accepted it. This was the start and it was more like a guided tour. If I get the chance again, I’ll be quiet about it.”

He added that the highlight of his Hajj experience remained his voyage to Arafat.

“I remember on the night before the trek to Arafat, there was a wind blowing and it suddenly started raining, and lightning was streaking the sky. It was humbling and it felt like someone from on high was talking to us.”

His wife Sadaf too has been touched with the divine quest. Fawad stated:

“She was very moved and she is going home carrying a lot of love”

The basis of the ranking is on the on-time performance, claims to process score and quality of service. The overall result is a display of how the airline handles the complaints of the customers.

Facebook Testing a ‘Things in Common’ Label

Facebook is trying out a new way to help users grow their connections based on “things in common,” according to a report.

The social network has launched a test in the US which adds “things in common” labels, revealing what strangers may have in common, other than mutual friends, according to a story by CNET.

Currently, when browsing a fan page or other community conversation, the comment section is divided up into those from friends and those from the public, each displaying a profile picture and full name. Now the idea would be to also add a “things in common” label for the public section, providing what could be conversation starters between strangers. These could include “You both lived in Paris” or “You both attended the University of Washington.”

“Knowing shared things in common helps people connect,” a Facebook spokeswoman said in a statement to CNET. “We’re testing adding a ‘things in common’ label that will appear above comments from people who you’re not friends with but you might have something in common with.”

It has yet to be seen whether the platform’s ability to share a user’s data will bring people closer together, expand professional connections or simply make them feel uncomfortable and exposed.

LinkedIn has a similar concept of sharing professional details aimed towards building useful connection, however, its users joined with that in mind and generally aren’t sharing personal details, family vacation photos or selfies with friends.

On the other hand, “things in common” might help to combat ‘trolling’ within a community, a problem a lot of social media platforms are faced with. Users might be deterred from responding with negative comments when they notice that the other person grew up in the same town or attended the same college that they did.

For those concerned about their information being volunteered, the labels only display details that are already public on user’s profiles, so adjusting privacy settings would limit that, however, the report notes that at this point there is “no way to turn the label off.”

It remains unclear whether this feature will be rolled out globally, and if so, when.

Ahmed Shehzad Likely to be Banned for Six Months: Reports

Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) is likely to ban Ahmed Shehzad for six months, following his positive dope test.

According to the Express Tribune, PCB will officially announce the verdict on the matter this week.

The ban can be increased to two years if found guilty for the second time and can result in a lifetime ban if occurred for the third time.

The Pakistani batsman was tested positive for dope after reports came forth in May. Shehzad is most likely to face a ban for violating anti-doping laws set by ICC. However, he does have the right to opt for a second test if he wishes. The report further claims that Ahmed was tested during a recent domestic cricket tournament.

The news took over social media after sports journalist Zainab Abbas tweeted about the test coming back as positive.

“AhmEd ShEhzad has been tested positive for Marijuana – the test was conducted prior to the Scotland series during Pakistan Cup”

Trollers could not resist!!

Earlier, in an official statement by PCB, the board confirmed that a player has tested positive for the usage of a prohibited substance, without naming the offender.

“A player has reportedly tested positive for a prohibited substance. But under ICC rules PCB cannot name the player or chargesheet him until the chemical report is CONFIRMED by the Anti-Dope Agency of the government. We should have an answer in a day or two,” -PCB

Authorities gave this news after a meeting with the selection committee and Head Coach Mickey Arthur while discussing the team for Zimbabwe tour. It was further discovered that PCB had decided to drop Shehzad for it, while Mohammad Hafeez and Shan Masood were the contenders for the slot.

In June, Shehzad recently played for Pakistan in the two-match T20I series in Scotland.

Officials from Tipu Sultan Police Station reported on Sunday that thieves stole equipment and other items from many offices they looted at Shahrah-e-Faisal.

These robberies took place during the Eid-ul-Azha 2018 holidays. The burglary was committed in 9 offices located at the multi-story Amber Tower according to Gulshan SP Ghulam Murtaza Bhutto.

The police had received a complaint from one of the victims who claimed upon arriving at work he had found his valuables to be missing.

One of the offices which was looted is reportedly named Createch Global Solutions.

There is no official word on the arresting of the culprits. Eid-ul-Azha 2018 holidays commenced on Tuesday 21st, August marking Hajj and carried out till Thursday, 23rd August, followed by the weekend.

Pakistani cricketer Muhammad Irfan has once again made Pakistan a proud nation! The talented young lad who has massive potential and leverage from his height has once again proven why we dominate in sports, particularly in cricket.

Irfan bowled the most economical spell in Twenty20 history on Saturday, only conceding a run from his final ball.

The giant 7ft 1in (2.16m) left-arm baller, playing for Barbados Tridents against St Kitts and Nevis Patriots in the Caribbean Premier League, also took the wickets of the usually big-hitting West Indies internationals Chris Gayle and Evin Lewis.

But Irfan ended up on the losing side anyway, as after he had bowled his maximum four overs, the Patriots chased down their target of 148 with seven balls to spare to win by six wickets.

“I’m really happy. I would’ve been happier if the team won, but I am happy that I bowled one of the best spells in T20 cricket,” – M.Irfan

“I liked bowling on the lively wicket, and I get extra bounce because of my height, so yes, a satisfying performance.”

The 36-year-old, who hasn’t played internationally for two years, dismissed star man Gayle with the first delivery of the innings.

Irfan ended with impressive figures of four overs, three maidens, with two wickets for one run.

As the summer draws to a close, we have a clearer picture of what will be showing on the small screen this fall. Jonah Hill opposite Emma Stone, the latest Amazon Prime Video comedy, Sean Penn in a science-fiction saga, the reboot of “Magnum” and the next ABC comedy-drama: here’s a list of five new releases that will help ease the pain of post-vacation blues.

Maniac

The streaming giant has called on bankable Hollywood stars Emma Stone and Jonah Hill for this science-fiction saga. Directed by Cary Joji Fukunaga, the story follows a clinical trial conducted on a diverse group of mentally disturbed patients. Among them are Annie Landsberg and Owen Milgrim, who are ready to risk anything to fight their demons with a new miracle remedy. Not surprisingly, the experiment doesn’t quite work out as planned. The first season will comprise ten episodes.

From September 21 on Netflix.

Forever

Amazon Prime Video presents an original and insightful dark comedy focusing on the tribulations of marriage, romantic relationships, and commitment in general. In a script penned by Alan Yang (“Master of None” and “Parks and Recreation”) and Matt Hubbard (“30 Rock” and “Parks and Recreation”), “Forever” recounts the peaceful and rather predictable life of June (Maya Rudolph) and Oscar (Fred Armisen). In a bid to escape from their hundrum routine in a Californian suburb, they set out on a ski vacation that takes them into very unfamiliar territory. The first season will comprise eight episodes.

The network that brought us “The Handmaid’s Tale” is back with another story from the future. In the role of astronaut Tom Hagerty, Sean Penn leads a near-future expedition to Mars. The science-fiction drama will explore the relationships of those left behind on Earth and the team en route to the red planet. “House of Cards” creator Beau Willimon took on the script for this original series, which features Natasha McElhone (“Californication”), James Ransone (“The Wire”) and Lusagay Hamilton (“House of Cards”).

Magnum

American television’s best-known private detective returns to CBS in a reboot of the 1980s show. Jay Hernandez plays a rejuvenated Thomas Magnum. Though Hernandez appears without the legendary moustache, an appearance at some point by the original Magnum, Tom Selleck, has not been ruled out yet. After a tour of duty in Afghanistan, Magnum starts out as a private investigator with help from his friends, Juliet Higgins (Perdita Weeks), Theodore ‘TC’ Calvin (Stephen Hill) and Orville ‘Rick’ Wright (Zachary Knighton).

A Million Little Things 

ABC’s new show, “A Million Little Things,” tells the tale of a group of friends faced with innumerable questions following the suicide of one of their number. In creating the drama series, D.J. Nash drew on his own personal experience of a death in similar circumstances. The comedy drama features Ron Livingston, Romany Malco, James Roday, Christina Moses, Christina Ochoa, Stephanie Szostack, Grace, Park and Allison Mille.

After a total of 6.8 crores on first two days, these numbers are expected to reach the 10 crores mark over the weekend in Pakistan, which will make Jawani Phir Nahi Ani 2 the first film ever to do so!

Directed by Nadeem Baig, Jawani Phir Nahi Ani 2 has managed to live up to audience’s expectations that were quite high since the release of its trailer. Even though sequels don’t often prove to be better than the original, the whole team of JPNA 2 deserves appreciation for its record-breaking business in just three days!

Google Pixel 3 Images Leak Through Black Market?

This week images said to be of Google’s next smartphone were leaked, then leaked again.

With so many tweets, Instagram posts and blogs showing what is purported to be Google’s upcoming Pixel 3 XL it does make one wonder where they are coming from.

“A Ukrainian black market dealer,” says 9to5Mac, who notes that the near-production units were sold for $2000 each.

The alleged transactions have resulted in images of what looks to be the device’s front, back, retail packaging and camera capabilities in a series of social media posts.

One tweet from @wylsacom gives a clear look at the device claimed to be Google 3 XL with the rear side resembling that of the current Pixel 2 XL, the other revealing the display’s notch — and quite a thick one at that.

As for features, the Pixel 3 XL is set to come with Active Edge functionality, which means that squeezing the device is like saying ‘Ok Google’, according to a report by GSMArena, which reviewed a leaked screenshot of the About screen.

That report also shows an image of the device’s alleged retail packaging and notes that Google will “finally supply headphones with its Pixel devices and what’s more, they look like the $160 Pixel Buds, only they’re wired.”

Previous rumors have suggested a 6.71-inch display, however other images that leaked showing the smartphone in a hand give the impression that those aren’t correct.

Other rumored specs include a P-OLED touch screen and the Qualcomm SDM845 Snapdragon 845 chipset. More unofficial specs are likely to surface before the official launch, which is set for October.

The free online game’s revenue grew just 2 percent in July from the previous month — despite creator Epic Games releasing a new season of its “battle pass” offering digital perks and added challenges.

The game passed a billion dollars in revenue last month after earnings from sales of digital items such as dance moves or avatar outfits climbed 7 percent from April to May.

Reasons for its popularity include that it can be played for free on a range of devices including smartphones, personal computers, and consoles.

“Fortnite” — the star of Los Angeles’ Electronic Entertainment Expo video game extravaganza in Los Angeles in June — still remained the top money maker on consoles in July, according to SuperData.

However, the game faces increasing competition as game makers add battle royale modes to popular titles and promote eSports leagues to win over players.

Metrics from Amazon-owned gameplay streaming service Twitch on Thursday showed that “Dota 2” was the most popular title with viewers so far in August, relegating “Fortnite” to second place.

Players worldwide spent $8.2 billion on digital games in July, in a 3 percent increase from the same month last year, SuperData said.

Jawani Phir Nahi Ani 2 is doing great business in cinemas as it gives people a chance to go and watch their favorite actors in action.

There is Humayun Saeed, there is Fahad Mustafa, Ahmad Ali Butt, Kubra Khan, Mawra Hocane, Vasay Chaudhry, Sarwat Gillani, Sohail Ahmed and others all in one film.

However, there is bad news for the fans of Fawad Khan who made a cameo appearance in the film, but not anymore!

Fawad Khan played an eccentric pop star Tipu Shah in the film who hires Vasay Chaudhry’s Sheikh as his bodyguard to save him from deranged fans.

It was a good five-minute-long scene that took the audience by surprise at the premiere but once the film was complete, the makers considered it too long to begin the film with and it was chopped away from the film.

However, the cameo at the end remains to surprise the audience just like Fahad Mustafa did in the first one.

In other news, Very Filmi has learned that the Censor Board cut a scene at the end of Load Wedding as well in which Fahim Khan’s Aashiq Rafaqat is being mobbed by the audience.

Considering the importance of the character to the plot and that the person he is mocking is now a Member of the National Assembly, it seems like a wise decision. As for the Fawad Khan one, only his fans would be disappointed!
