On the other hand, Dubai has been evaluating to add more countries on the list to be granted visa-on-arrival according to Issam Kazim, the chief executive of the Department of Tourism and Commerce Marketing.

Dubai Freelance Work Permit for Technology Sector Launched

We’re still pushing for more and more countries to be added to that and we’re working with the authorities to make sure that’s happening. The first thing we need to focus on is removing any barriers.

The country has witnessed a surge in tourism after they revised via rules and granted visa on arrival to Chinese and Russian citizens, Kazim shared. For a fee, the visa can be extended as well.

Overall, Expo 2020 is projected to contribute Dh122.6 billion to the UAE’s economy and create nearly 50,000 full-time jobs per year between 2013 and 2031, the study showed.

UAE is expecting a ‘boom’ in their tourism sector particularly from October 2020 to April 2021 as stated by Ernst & Young said in a study of the economic impact.

Instagram & Snapchat Likely to Restrict Screenshots After WhatsApp

Screenshots
Credits: Mashable India

WhatsApp has been experimenting with many different features in order to tackle fake news and other privacy-related matters.

Recently, the application was spotted testing a no-screenshot feature which prevented a user from taking shots of the chat.

Now, it is speculated that Instagram and Snapchat are also deciding to prevent users from doing the same.

How to Use Snapchat App: Step by Step Guide

In a recent report, Dazeinfo has shared that Snapchat is going to make it even trickier for individuals to capture the images, even the old turn-off-the-wifi-and-screenshot trick will not work for users.

On the other hand, Instagram might take-up Snapchat’s idea of notifying users of the name of the user who has done the deed.

Instagram is Testing Screenshot Alerts for Insta Stories!

Not only will these restrictions contribute to helping with privacy and curbing of fake news, but will also help in building trust between the user and the platform, given how Facebook has been in hot waters over user privacy and other reasons the last few months.

Uber is Spreading Smiles & Lifting Spirits of Communities Across Pakistan

Uber

In Pakistan, Uber celebrated its ‘Global Service Week’, where employees engaged in various volunteer work across cities.

Clad in black and white T-shirts emblazoned with ‘Uber in the community’, the volunteers, visited the Shaukat Khanum Memorial Hospital (SKMH), Patient’s Aid Foundation (PAF), Fatima Memorial Hospital, and SOS village.

At Shaukat Khanum Memorial Hospital (SKMH), the Uber team distributed toys amongst the child patients and spent time with them at the hospital.

Uber community service

During this service week, Uber Pakistan also aligned with a leading non-profit in Karachi, Patient’s Aid Foundation (PAF) focusing on osteoporosis awareness. As part of the activity, Uber employees came up with ideas to promote DEXA scan – one of the screening methods for osteoporosis – at Jinnah Postgraduate Medical Centre, set-up by PAF, which is available free of cost for females.

Uber volunteers also managed to contribute to Fatima Memorial Hospital in a way that would create a significant impact on the organization. The Uber teams did some brainstorming sessions with the hospital teams and provided recommendations to help the institution implement successful plans and campaigns.

Lastly, the Uber team visited SOS Village and spent time while taking the children through creative thought-development games and activities, followed by an entertaining talent show put on display by the children alongside Uber team.

Uber

Uber Pakistan has organized a number of activities to serve the community both organically through the platform, and through programs and philanthropy. Last year, Uber partnered with Benazir Income Support Programme (BISP) to empower women by helping selected BISP beneficiaries to acquire driving skills and providing them 100 rickshaws with minimal installments for repayment. Aiming to enable women to exit the poverty cycle through sustainable earning opportunity.

Similarly, last year, an awareness drive was conducted by driver partners in Lahore wherein they distributed free smog kits to Uber riders, to give them some relief during their daily commute in the smog season.

Uber

Uber also teamed up with Kashf Foundation in a bid to educate driver partners on how to refrain from inappropriate behavior to recognize and prevent unsuitable actions. Titled ‘Dignity at Work’, this training was a part of Uber’s global initiative to help prevent harassment of any kind.

Moreover, Uber’s Pakistan-based executives can be seen volunteering for mentorship programs at the National Incubation Center across Pakistan. Every year, the tech firm organizes a national startup competition giving an opportunity to aspiring tech startup professionals to be guided by experienced trainers and eventually have their ideas judged by investors and mentors during the course of the competition.

Such initiatives are a testament to the fact that Uber takes its social responsibilities seriously and continues to make a difference in the communities it operates in.

Atletico De Madrid Academia Opens Doors in Pakistan!

Update: Pakistani children and football go hand-in-hand. The talented tots are truly a wonderful sight to see given the amazing skills our children have.

Atletico De Madrid Academia is here to give them a professional platform for further development.

It is the first European team to open an academy in Pakistan, a country which is obsessed with cricket and has a Prime Minister who himself is a sports legacy and former captain of the national team.

The academy is training both boys and girls under the presence of Javier Visea and Daniel Limones.

They always have their eyes open; they are willing to learn. Some kids come here for new experiences, just to try. But others are already football fans -Visea said

Visea has been teaching the children of Lahore football for several months now.

We have found a lot of people that want to play football -Limones

Mohamed Atta Tanseer, a Kohat Cement executive had tried to get Real Madrid to open an academy in Pakistan, however, it did not work out in their favor. Instead, their rival Atletico De Madrid decided to open an academy in Pakistan.

Atletico De Madrid Director Syed Zahab Ali said:

We plan to open six academies in the next five years in Pakistan. Two in Lahore, two in Karachi, one in Islamabad and one in Rawalpindi

As of now, the academy is open to children 3 days a week in Lahore and on the weekends a lead training session takes place outside the learning center. So far, 600 children have signed up for the sessions.

When it comes to football, Pakistan is still thriving to revamp the system to promote this much-loved sport in the country.

It looks like things are finally changing in favor of the sport and for football lovers- the future looks brighter than ever!

The Spanish football club Atletico Madrid is to officially open their first football academy, the ‘Atletico De Madrid Academia’ in Pakistan later this month!

According to Independent, the football academy in partnership with Atletico Madrid will be opened in Lahore.

Atletico is ambitious to find raw football talent in Pakistan. The football academy will train talented school children from all over the country under the guidance of Spanish coaches.

PM Imran Khan Invites FIFA President to Revive Football in Pakistan

Atletico wants to see the player progression in Pakistan’s national youth teams in three to five years, and Pakistani players playing for Los Colchoneros in the near future.

This initiative has been taken by Lahore businessmen Muhammad Atta Tanseer and his cousin Omer Sheikh, who are passionate about football and are committed to promoting football in Pakistan.

Talking about the establishment of a football academy in Lahore, the CEO of Lahore academy, Muhammad Atta Tanseer said:

We are merely starting to scratch the surface of infinite talent that remains to be discovered and cultivated into world-class competencies. We are opening the first academy in Lahore and also planning to open in Islamabad and Karachi. We will be holding training camps, clinics and training sessions in other major cities and towns of Pakistan as well.

Two Atletico coaches, Daniel Limones, and Javier Visea, are busy in training Pakistani coaches and talent scouting in local schools and coaching. They both have been living in Lahore since last September.

Daniel Limones said,

No professional team from Europe has started this project in Pakistan. We are the first, and it’s a great opportunity. I think that we have an opportunity to do a lot of things here. Pakistan is a big country with a lot of people, more than 200 million. So in Atlético de Madrid, we thought that it could be a really good opportunity for us. We can find a lot of potential here and a lot of good players.

The formation of a football academy in Pakistan could be the vanguard to more La Liga involvement in South Asia.

Javier Visea added:

We are not looking for players for Atletico Madrid because we know that this is going to be very difficult… Our target is to improve the football here.

Standalone Profit Before Tax (PBT) of the Bank for the three months period ended March 31, 2019, increased by 24% to Rs. 9.08 billion.
