3. Dew of The Morning Serum

1 tbsp jojoba oil

4 drops lavender essential oil

The Pakistani team at the Olympics has definitely gone down in the last few years. The number of athletes supported and encouraged to participate has dwindled. However, that is not to say that the team that has gone nonetheless is not capable. Some of the finest athletes are representing Pakistan, one of whom has already made us proud.

The Tokyo Olympics 2021

The Tokyo Olympics commenced on July 23 at the National Stadium of Japan. This is the 32nd edition of the mega multi-sports event to be held in Tokyo, Japan. Hence, this also makes it the second time Japan has hosted the event since the last time in 1964. As such, Japan becomes the first city in Asia to hold Summer Olympics twice.

Moreover, what is interesting is how this year’s event is also being called ‘Olympics 2020’. Since the last year’s games were cancelled due to coronavirus, this year is being called 2020. Additionally, more than eleven thousand athletes are participating in the 339 events featuring 33 sports in 50 disciplines. This year even new sports have been added.

Pakistani Team

The Pakistani team at the 2020’s Olympics in Tokyo consists of 10 athletes. Men and women from different parts of Pakistan have dedicated their lives to their sport of passion. Without further ado, meet the people making us proud!

1. Arshad Nadeem

Nadeem is representing Pakistan in the javelin throw event at the Tokyo Games. Moreover, he qualified for the Olympics during the 2019 South Asian Games. In that year, he hurled the javelin as far as 86.29 meters to create a new South Asian record.

2. Mahnoor Shahzad

Shahzad has been the women’s singles badminton champion in 2017. She is also representing Pakistan at the 2020 Tokyo Olympics. As a result, Shahzad is supposed to take on Japan’s Akane Yamaguchi in her match.

3. Shah Hussain Shah

Shah is the son of the 1988 Olympic bronze medallist Hussain Shah and is going to be competing in the judo category. This will be his second appearance at the Olympics.

4. Gulfam Joseph

Incredibly talented Joseph is a 21-year-old shooter who will participate in the 10m Air Pistol event at the Tokyo Olympics.

5. Bisma Khan

A brilliant and dedicated swimmer, Bisma is participating in the 50m freestyle swimming competition.

6. Ghulam Mustafa Bashir

Bashir is participating in the category of rapid-fire Pistol 25 metre.

7. Syed Muhammad Haseeb Tariq

Another brilliant swimmer, Haseeb Tariq has gone for the category of swimming 100-metre Freestyle Men’s.

8. Talha Talib

A weightlifter from Gujranwala, Talib is competing in the ‘Weightlifting 67kg’ category and missed by a mere margin of 2kg from the bronze medal.

9. Muhammad Khalil Akhtar

Akhtar has been chosen for the Rapid Fire Pistol 25 metre at Olympics 2020.

10. Najma Parveen

Parveen will be competing in the ‘Athletics 200 metres’ category in Olympics 2020.

First Pakistani Female Mountaineer To Summit Everest On The Mission To K2

Ali Sadpara, the high-altitude mountaineer, lost his life climbing the Killer Mountain, K2. Instead of people getting scared of it, there has been a flurry of activity around the less-traveled mountain. Samina Baig, the first Pakistani female mountaineer who summited Everest, was also making her way to the peak of K2.

First Pakistani female mountaineer to summit Mount Everest

Samina was born in Gilgit Baltistan, she always dreamt of climbing mountains and was able to summit Everest (8,849m) at the young age of 21. She was in fact, the first Pakistani woman to do that. Samina already holds the honor of scaling the Seven Summits, the seven highest peaks in the world.

Now thirty years old, Samina was making her way to get to the peak of K2. The expedition started in June and was already midway. In fact, today on the 27th of July, they were to summit the mountain. Samina’s brother Mirza Ali who was leading the expedition had said that they are expected to complete their mission by August 8th.

K2 – The Killer Mountain

While Mount Everest is the highest peak in the world and K2, the second-highest (8,611m), the latter is more dangerous which is why while Everest gets frequented by thousand of mountaineers, very few approach K2. The dangers that those brave mountaineers have faced have led to the mountain being nicknamed, Killer.

Yes, people, Pakistanis specifically, have summitted the Killer Mountain in the past, Ali Sadpara included. The first Pakistani did it in 1977, but were Samina be able to do it, she would have been labeled the first Pakistani female mountaineer to summit K2.

It is the same mountain where Ali Sadpara went missing hoping to summit K2 during winter as well. It would have been a major achievement because, during winters, the conditions of the peak become more savage. Unfortunately, however, the Pakistani mountaineer along with the two other foreign mountaineers went missing. They were declared dead months ago. Their bodies have now been found near the bottleneck, the most dangerous of the places on the mountain.

Firstly, in reference to his arrest video, she states that Zahir Jaffer was pretending not to speak in Urdu although he has spent most of his time in Pakistan. She mentioned that he had only gone to the US to pursue an undergraduate degree. She says that they were close family friends as kids but she was never close to Zahir. According to the account, Zahir was quite introverted and erratic at times.

Years later, Zahir was diagnosed with Schizophrenia. When a drug-induced psychosis triggered his Schizophrenia, he was taken back to Pakistan. However, the account also states that none of the facets of this mental illness contributes to what he did. The condition does not induce thoughts and acts of violence and murder since she, herself, knows mentally-ill people and that is certainly not how they act nor behave. Even when Zahir’s parents said that he was getting therapy and treatment, there are discrepancies in the facts.

Remembering Noor

In the video, Zahra remembered Noor as one of the best people she had known. Noor had not grown up in Pakistan but in Dublin. After some years, Noor came to Islamabad and continued her studies here. She stated that Noor wanted to be a vet because she loved animals a lot. How can anyone even think of harming someone who takes care of these creatures?

Zahra also mentioned ‌that Zahir’s friends were highly misogynistic and abusive. We are all aware that a company does play a part in influence. This shows that the crowd around him was up to no good either. The account further tells us even more and discussed different aspects.

Students keep flooding in like bees. It’s a fish market here, with so many students getting newly admitted to this beautiful university. And the already present ones not graduating, it’s a traffic jam at SZABIST.

3. Marathon from one campus to another

When one class is at 100 and another at 154, students had to run a marathon to reach there on time or get marked absent. With only three absences allowed during a semester, it gets super tricky to cope.

4. Parking Problem

Even though now Szabist has its Parking area, students still cannot find a place to park their cars and get late for their classes.

5. Cafe Cats

Yes! Szabist cafeterias are famous for their “Pet Cats.” They are super creepy and are always around. From Jumping on tables to chasing you around campus, they do it all.

6. 99 Campus

Szabist has its very own bhoot bangla, it’s known as 99 campus, where you get that eerie feeling during 6-9 classes.

7. Szabist Student Council (SSC)

The energetic and dedicated SSC team is always active in organizing the events to keep the students engage besides their studies.

8. Dera/ Chai Wala- the Ultimate spot to hide

When you couldn’t find someone around all three campuses, try searching for them at Dera or Chai Wala, they’ll be hiding there.

9. Program Coordinators are always busy

It’s IMPOSSIBLE to find the program coordinators free when we need them. They are busy in their work, in hiding. When asked from the reception, they are always around. However, no one knows where exactly they are.

10. 3-6 hour gaps between classes.

It’s hell for Students when they have a 3-6 hour gap between classes. With traffic issues around campus, one doesn’t get enough space even to sit and take a breath. But well, thanks to Dera and Chai Wala, this problem has been somewhat solved.

The Pakistan Advertisers Society ( PAS ) has bestowed its Lifetime Achievement Award for 2021 on Sarmad Ali, Managing Director of the Jang Group and President of the All Pakistan Newspapers Society for his contributions towards the development of the marketing communications industry.

The Award was presented by PAS President Asif Aziz at the third PAS Effie Awards held here virtually. In his remarks, Asif Aziz stated that ” This year it makes me immensely proud to present the Lifetime Achievement Award to someone who has contributed immensely to the growth of the industry, a man of substance, a doer and a person you can always count on”. He lauded Sarmad’s efforts in making Pakistan’s an advertising and marketing visible on international platforms.

PAS And Achievements

In his acceptance remarks, Sarmad stated: “Getting this award would not have been possible without the inspiration I have received from my mentors in the media and the advertising fraternity and the support that I have got from my colleagues”.

He thanked “his mentors and his team” for helping him reach a stage where he could proudly hold up the award as a mark of his and their achievements. He dedicated his award to the Jang/Geo family and the newspaper industry that he represents. He concluded by asking businesses to reinvent themselves in wake of the Covid 19 pandemic. “To succeed in these trying times you have to break the rules and break the mould as I did”.

Body Of Mountaineer Ali Sadpara Has Finally Been Found

In February, famous mountaineer, Ali Sadpara went on a climbing expedition to K2 with a group. However, due to changes in weather conditions, they were lost. A huge search and rescue were mounted but to no avail. After much effort and work, Ali Sadpara was declared dead by the government and the people mourned him. However, we must admit that a small part of us hoped he had made it out alive.

A New Revelation

According to the tour group ‘K2 Treks And Tours’, sherpas found two bodies on the mountain. One of them was 400m from the bottleneck and one of them was 300m from it. The latter one was later identified to be that of Ali Sadpara! After four and a half months, he has finally been found. According to sources, the bottleneck is the most dangerous spot on the mountain. To cross it means you have successfully reached the summit.

This shows us how determined mountain climbers are. Ali Sadpara was no less in his determination and strength. We hope that the family members of the personality are finding the strength to make it through this difficult time. One cannot imagine what they must be going through right now. However, we can pray and hope they are alright.

Red meat contains a high proportion of cholesterol and saturated fats than white meat. Research shows that high cholesterol foods lead to the production of trimethylamine N-Oxide (TMAO). This compound is associates with arterial blood clots, which can cause heart attacks and strokes.

3. Diabetes

According to a study, the incidence of Type-2 diabetes was high in patients who ate red meat than those who had a balance proportion of meat in the diet. The major linking factor is thought to be obesity which is the most risk factor for diabetes.

Tech experts have released a rumour pertaining to Canon that has many photography enthusiasts excited. Canon has always been the leader of photography equipment and now they’re becoming more accessible. Is the giant launching the cheapest full-frame camera yet? You’ll have to find out!

Canon Rumours

Canon Rumors is described as a”pretty solid source with a decent track record”. The site was first heard that Canon is “aiming to release a full-frame RF mount camera for under $800 USD in 2022”. That’s a pretty concise report and is enough to get many Canon fans excited.

There are no rumoured specs yet which is also a bummer. However, the Canon Rumours site announced that the camera is “likely at least a year away”. Hence, the launch is expected for 2022 but what can be confirmed is that it is in the works.

Succeeding The Old ‘Cheapest Camera’

If Canon does decide to release a new camera that would be the cheapest ever, it would succeed an older model of Canon. The Canon EOS RP is a full-frame camera released in February 2019 for only $1,299. At the time, it was the cheapest camera released to date. However, keep in mind, it was the cheapest ever full-frame camera. It was said that no camera would be able to beat this price but we guess Canon likes to set new records.

The only downside fans are finding in this rumour is how far away it is. 2022 seems a lifetime away and people have careers to build!

Pros and Cons

The move from the previous model to this one would make sense. The notable exception of the Canon EOS RP, the previous cheapest full-body camera has many good specs. For instance, it is the smallest and lightest interchangeable-lens camera with a full-frame sensor. However, it is now starting to age.

It has a slightly dated autofocus and slow 5fps burst shooting powers, making it unfit for many types of photography.

Will The New Camera Be Full-Frame?

To make a camera at the price of $799, some serious changes will have to be made. Even the Canon EOS RP lacked in-body image stabilization (IBIS) because of its price cut: a feature good for stable photography.

Two of the main drawbacks expected are the size and cost. Fans are excited to see how Canon cuts corners to make the cheapest full-frame camera yet.

Talha Talib recently made news as he qualified for Olympics, representing Pakistan as its only weightlifter. The 21-year-old resident of Gujranwala did not win the game but managed to win the fellow citizen’s hearts. Tracing his story, we have picked up a few pointers about Talha that we will share today.

1. Passion needs no lavish training institute

Talha Talib proves that he is truly passionate about weightlifting. His passion is evident because he did not find excuses such as not having a proper training institute. Instead, he requested the school he was studying at to use the ground for practice. And he has been doing so without compromising his studies or of the students enrolled at the school.

For an athlete, the exercise routine is the most important, and yet, his routine would be one where he had to accommodate others.

2. Not the best conditions yet the best player

Since the training venue was an open space, it meant that it came with numerous restrictions. Talha would be forced to postpone training every time the weather would be on the extreme ends. With all these restrictions, he was still able to win in numerous competitions.

3. Changing weightlifting categories

For some time, Talha has been working on jumping to higher categories. He won medals in 2015 in the 55kg category. After that, he jumped to the 61kg category, where he gained success. But he did not stop there and ensured that he competed for an even higher category; that of 67 kg. And he has been on the road to success while he trains himself without any support from any institute of government.

4. First and only Pakistani weightlifter in 45 years

Talha is the first and only Pakistani weightlifter to represent the country in 45 years. In 1976, Pakistan had two weightlifters during the Montreal Games, Mohammad Manzoor, and Arshad Malik. After that, Talha is the only one who cut for the Olympics. Although he did not win, this is already an amazing achievement, representing Pakistan after such a long spell.

5. Problems faced by the weightlifter

In the past two years, he missed out on the Asian Junior Championship in Korea. Even though he was the best player in the South Asian Games, the sport in the competition was stripped from the Olympic qualification event. He also missed out on various international competitions because he did not have adequate resources.

If you believe in all publicity is good publicity then you will be happy. However, if you don’t, this will be a bummer. Aanish and Wajeeha’s wedding is going viral but for all the wrong reasons. The bride, Wajeeha, had planned an elaborate entry for her wedding. She decided her entry would be different and cooler, not the same old.

To achieve this, Wajeeha decided to dance on a song, solo, as her entry. We wish she could have chosen a better song at least. ‘Mere Saiyyan Superstar’ isn’t exactly record-breaking.

Baig and Shigri’s engagement was not an overly opulent event. They gathered their friends and families under the stars for a night full of love. Farhan Saeed released his much-awaited single this Friday. The song was directed by Adnan Qazi while written and produced by Bilal Saeed. The song features Aima Baig as the female lead, and the video of the song has nothing short of fairytale vibes. But there is a catch.

While Na Cher Malanga Nu crosses two million views on Instagram, we are still debating the situation whether it’s an inspiration or just a Pakistani version of the famous 2008 release of Taylor Swift Wildest Dreams.

The poster shows Aima and Farhan Clad in brown and white khakis standing in the middle of a desert immersed in a deep gaze. Soon after the release, the poster becomes the talk of the town, so much so that Joseph Kahn, the director of Wildest dreams, also responded to the tweet.

They must be disposed of properly.

Karachi Situation On Saturday Morning

While it was said that there is no animal waste out on the streets, many areas contradicted that. There is a famous road in Karachi by the name of Jehangir road. One of the reasons people know its name is because it’s always full of water. There are few instances when there isn’t sewerage water on the road. It makes commute quite difficult for many people.

Additionally, it is quite unsanitary and unhealthy. A lot of water-borne diseases could cause havoc in that region if the issue is not solved properly. According to a source, the road was full of water on Eid days too. Between that, a lot of animal waste was dumped on the sides of the road, eventually finding its way into the water. Not only has this increased the danger, but it has also put the residents of the area in a miserable state.

Cleaning Up The City

It must also be noted that this is not the only affected area of Karachi. Many other places have been left in a miserable state due to the animal waste not being picked up. It even causes a bad aroma in the entire area. The bridge that runs through the area ‘Water Pump’ also sees a lot of animal waste underneath it each year. The Nipa bridge is yet another place where animal waste is dumped every year.

These places must be taken notice of if they haven’t been cleaned already. We are not aware of the current situation of some of these places, but we are sure of many others. This is a serious matter and must be dealt with immediately. Islam also teaches that cleanliness is half of the faith so let us keep practising that.
