A video went viral of a Pakistani couple where their two-month-old attended valima ceremony of his parents. The valima was set to take place last year in March 2020. However, due to lockdown, the ceremony was cancelled.

25-year-old Sheikh had tied down the knot with 23-year-old Anmol last year, on March 13th, 2020. The next day, the government announced the nationwide lockdown due to the spike in coronavirus cases. All indoor activities and marriage halls were shut down. As a result, the couple has to cancel their event that was scheduled to occur the next day on March 14th, 2020.
Sheikh and Anmol welcomed their child on January 19, 2021. The couple then decided to hold a valima ceremony. The hall was booked for March 23, as of the public holiday, says Sheikh. “We decided to hold it on that day as it was a national holiday and the entire family was free.”

Facebook apologized on Sunday for a bug that sent a Safety Check notification to users around the world following a deadly suicide bombing in Pakistan.
Facebook users from Honolulu to Brussels and Cairo to Hong Kong were baffled by the notification, a feature that lets users signal to friends that they are safe following an event in their area like a terror attack or natural disaster.
“We activated Safety Check today in Lahore, Pakistan, after a bombing that took place there. Unfortunately, many people not affected by the crisis received a notification asking if they were okay,” Facebook said in a statement to AFP.
“This kind of bug is counter to our intent. We worked quickly to resolve the issue and we apologize to anyone who mistakenly received the notification,” the company posted online.
At least 65 people were killed and hundreds injured, many of them children, when a suicide bomber blew himself up at a crowded park in the Pakistani city of Lahore where Christians were celebrating Easter Sunday.
Some people commented on social media that the Facebook malfunction atleast informed many people around the world of the attack who otherwise might not have heard about it.

Travelling is always amazing because it’s not just a fun trip. It is also helpful for people frustrated with their everyday life. And given what the pandemic has put us through and how it confined families to their houses, traveling seems like the only possible window into escaping this new normal. First of all, let’s look at a lavish local trip. There are a few tour groups that take you all the way to Fairy Meadows or Gilgit Chitral. And all for a PKR 50,000 fare. This includes accommodations, food, and transportation. Basically, every possible expense on a trip. But how can you make it more lavish? Take that leftover Rs. 30,000 and negotiate with the group to assign you rooms not on a shared basis and in a nearby better hotel if possible.
You can also go on that trip yourself. Here’s what you need to do:
Get a train ticket to Islamabad. It will cost you PKR 6,000. Get to Islamabad and stay for one day at a hotel, for, let’s say the same amount a night. Check out and get to a bus for Gilgit, preferably from Faisal movers. They charge around PKR 3,500 from Islamabad (price may vary with time). It leaves you with PKR 64,000. Set aside 10k for your return trip. The leftover 54,000 is for accommodation and transport within northern areas. Choose to stay with the locals someday to get a genuinely northern experience and spend saving money on great food.

You can even go abroad these days in the saved, PKR 80,000. These days with decreasing tourism, many tour groups offer trips to Turkey with the bracket of PKR 80,000. So you can choose that, or you can go to Argentina. The cheapest flight from Pakistan is priced at PKR 62,000. Go for Air BnB instead of five-star hotels or, better yet, do couch surfing. It’s very safe, and you don’t have to pay anything to your host, unlike Air BnB. So the rest of PKR 18,000 will be only for your food and roaming around and making new friends.

If you follow entertainment news, you must be aware of the drama sprouting in that sector. It became known to us that Saba Qamar had accepted a proposal from Azeem Khan some time back. Since a lot of people follow both these personalities, it was a time of rejoicing for all. A lot of people ship this couple together and want nothing more than to be happy with their happiness.
However, it seems that a lot of false news, regarding them, had begun to circulate around the internet. People were making false accusations about the other’s past and also started to talk about how they aren’t meant for each other. Lucky Motors Deal:
In recent news, we have found out that Lucky Motor Corporation (LMC) has dealt with the Stellantis group. This is a multinational corporation who deal with the manufacture of vehicles of various brands. They are the 4th largest car manufacturer in the world. Approximately 16 brands come under the Stellantis group. These include Alfa Romeo, Chrysler, Dodge, Fiat, Maserati, as well as Opel, Peugot, and Vauxhall. There are many more brands at work under this corporation, and this makes it a huge deal.
So, what is this new deal that we keep mentioning? According to the agreement, Lucky Motor Corporation has acquired the rights to assemble, distribute, market, and manufacture the Stellantis group vehicles in Pakistan. This includes light commercial cars as well as passenger cars. The CEO of LMC, Asif Rizvi, has made a statement. In accordance with it, the company plans to manufacture these vehicles under the ADP 2016 – 2021. This means that we may be able to see some new vehicles enter the country before the year is up.
Stellantis Rising In Pakistan:
This deal brings out quite a lot of prospects for Pakistan. We have just begun to enter into the automotive industry hugely, and we have much to see. Whether it is this or any brand, development is going to be done. However, the Stellantis group, being as large as it is, tips the odds in our favor quite a lot. It has been reported that this production is going to be done in the same area where Kia Motors is located. This would be the Port Qasim area headed straight from National Highway.
The writer of this article has been to that area and even inside the KIA motors plant. There is an immense amount of development being done in that whole area, in general. Placing this facility there will only boost the cycle. However, the current auto development plan is set to expire in July. From what we have heard, a new project might already be around the corner, stretching from 2021 to 2026!

So up until 2018, Apple was getting its Mac products from Intel. But in 2018, it decided to start making its own processing chips. Intel was angry at this and made quite some noise.
By November 2020, Apple officially released its own custom silicon. Interestingly, the new machines, M1 Macs, have proved to be strong and were loved by the consumers. Seeing this response and fear of being completely cut off, Intel is now attempting to get back into the fold. However, now it just looks pretty desperate, the actions that they are taking.
M1 is an excellent choice when you are looking for a product by gauging affordability vs. performance. We say that because look, Rocket Lake i9-11900K with an 8-core processor has 16 threads, 16MB of Intel Smart Cache, and memory speeds DDR4-3200 RAM, and it costs $539/£395/AU$715. Now, look at the M1-based Mac mini. This desktop computer has 8 GB RAM, 256 GB storage, Apple’s name and costs $699/£699/AU$1,099.
So what did Intel do?
They have released a campaign where they outright tell Apple that they are the real mac. This campaign features Justin Long, where he compares the old Macs with the new ones, and his dialogues and expressions say it all.
He uses terms like gaming prowess, touchscreen, and the lack of various colors (he mentions grey and grey) to support his point. As an Apple supporter, I am bound to tell you there are silver and gold colors as well.
The point is, Intel should have known everything is replaceable. The moment you start thinking you aren’t, you get replaced. But now that you have been why not take it as an adult and move on because, in all honesty, these attempts are…cringe-y!

Horror stories keep you on edge. No gathering is complete without a discussion of something haunted. But meeting someone who actually goes through a haunted event instead of just hearing someone’s recounted stories is a whole experience in itself. That room in the school
So first off, we have a story of a girl. She reminisces the time when she was doing her matriculation. Her school was in Soldier Bazaar. They had a room on the ground floor, which stayed locked. As a dare, she opened the lock and stepped inside. In an instant, she saw various things, she claims. She saw the room filled with blood. There weird-shaped creatures inside. And right in front of her was a hideous-looking person soaked in blood.
She turns to gesture towards her friends, but it turns out that they had run away. And that’s when someone tugged at her. She fell into the room and fainted. Hours later, she was found and taken home. She still shudders at the memory.

Black Magic
Another girl tells the story of black magic. She recounts that she used to get scared to the point that she would turn gree and stop breathing. Somehow her parents met a spiritual person who told them that a close relative had black magic on the girl. And it was all for the petty reason that they did not want her to be better in studies than their daughter.

There was another person who talked about his family house. He said that their home neighboured the plot where everyone dumped their garbage. That plot was said to have been a murder site. It could be due to that, but he and his family saw a headless figure roaming around the house. Moreover, they always saw a very hairy hand reached from the exhaust fan.

With the onset of COVID, a lot of people have to isolate themselves at home. The implementation of the worldwide lockdown last year gave rise to many issues related to domestic abuse. A large number of campaigns are launched to help raise awareness about domestic abuse victims. However, to help domestic abuse survivors, it is crucial to spread knowledge about the situation’s gravity.
According to one campaign published last year, in the first week of lockdown. One hotline received double their usual number of calls to report abuse. This can be due to staying trapped indoors with their abusers when emergency calls may be impossible. The campaign showed the importance of why friends and neighbors must remain vigilant and look for signs of abuse before it’s too late.
Domestic Abuse Reports in Pakistan
According to a report, due to a patriarchal society, more than 90% of married Pakistani women reportedly endure physical or sexual abuse, which is considered a private family matter and not a crime to be reported. This grim actuality is deep-rooted in our society and, by international laws, is a clear human rights violation.

Don’t let the pandemic hide the real danger at home, which shows how the survivors can be hiding their pain from society. We can agree that stay-at-home orders to limit the spread of COVID-19 certainly do not guarantee safety for families. Those who are living with their abusers are at a major risk.
The abusers at home use these restrictions to exert control and toxic behaviors. The lockdown can inadvertently allow the perpetrators to exploit freedom, behave without oversight or consequence, and further reduce access to services, help, and even necessary items such as soap and hand sanitizers.

‘Signal for Help’ is a simple one-handed sign someone can use on a video call or when interacting with an outsider while practicing social distancing. It can help a person silently show they need help and want someone to check in with them safely.
Being fit is often equated with losing weight. And even if with tons of diet plans, one cannot see a difference on the weighing machine, they start getting fidgety. 1. Its in the Genes
I have seen people applying diet plans and exercises in their routine. If they were overweight, they started losing it at an exponential speed for some time. But then, 10 to 12 kg before their desired weight, it stops. And even though they are practicing the same routine, the weight doesn’t budge. So obviously, they start thinking that they are not doing something properly.

But here is the thing. Some things come with a default setting. How many times have you looked up home remedies or diet plans to alter your height? It is the default. Just like that, there is a weight that is your default weight. Whatever you do, you cannot go beyond that, and if you are going below that, it is worrisome. You should consult a doctor.
2. Sleep Deprivation
If you are not sleeping the hours you should sleep, you gain weight. According to a study conducted in 2006, researchers found that women sleeping lesser had more significant weight gain chances. Why could that be? It’s because when you are awake, you feel hungry even if you are not hungry. Moreover, sleep deprivation leads to more cortisol in the body. And cortisol is directly linked to your appetite. And when you are up for extended periods, you get tired, so you cannot do your daily exercise and burn calories.
3. Not enough proteins
Remember, you studied balanced diets. In all those elements, protein is the only nutrient that contributes to weight loss. If you take 25-30% proteins, it can boost your metabolism rate by 80 to 100 calories a day. So what happens is your desire for snacking reduces. In terms of calories, you take several hundred calories less than usual. But why, you may ask. It is because protein affects the hormones which regulate your appetite. So load up on proteins.

4. Stressing Out
Stressing out, you can say, is almost directly proportional to weight gain. Why? You have cravings for your comfort food. Your stress leads to sleep deprivation, which affects cortisol levels, as we discussed above. And of course, unless you vent your stress by exercising, you skip out on exercises. So instead of living with your stress, talk to a counselor to determine what’s stressing you out and end it.
So yes, some of these reasons that hinder your goal of losing weight are changeable but don’t forget that some aren’t. You should lose weight if you are nearing obesity, which can be dangerous for your health, but otherwise, do not obsess about weight loss much. Accept yourself as you are. There is nothing more beautiful than that.

1. How old is Netflix?

Strawberries are in season, and what better way to enjoy this season than to indulge in strawberry desserts. They can store for as long as six months to a year, so create a strawberry stash and enjoy them even off-season.
To store them, buy a bunch of strawberries clean them under running cold water. After that, spread butter paper in the tray and freeze them in the freezer for 4-5 hours. Once they’re completely frozen, transfer them to a zip lock bag ad enjoy as long as you want.

1. Easy No-Bake Strawberry Cheesecake
This no-bake strawberry dessert is the perfect alternative to a strawberry cake. It’s a cold and refreshing, creamy, frozen dessert made with fresh strawberries and a crunchy graham cracker layer.
Ingredients
GRAHAM CRACKER CRUST:
2 1/2 cups ground graham crackers
1/4 cup sugar
7 Tbsp butter, melted
FILLING:
3 cups heavy cream
12 oz cream cheese
1/2 cup powder sugar
1/4 teaspoon lemon juice
TOP OF CAKE:
2 cups strawberries, cut into half or slice
SAUCE:
1 cup boiling water
1/4 cup sugar
1 tbsp lemon juice
2.5 tbsp cornstarch
Food color
Instructions
Put parchment paper in the cake tin and leave it aside.
GRAHAM CRACKERS CRUST – Put graham crackers in the food processor and crumble them. Combine graham cracker crumbs, sugar, and butter in a medium bowl. Spread the mixture evenly in the cake tin and shape using hands. Leave it in the fridge while you prepare the cheesecake filling.
CHEESECAKE FILLING – In a large dish, whisk heavy cream with an electric mixer using medium speed for about 4 minutes. Then, whisk for about a minute at a maximum speed. In a separate medium dish, mix cream cheese, powdered sugar, and lemon juice with an electric mixer at a medium speed for about a minute. Put it in the bowl with heavy cream and mix briefly until well combined. Take the cake tin out of the fridge and spread cheesecake filling evenly over the graham crust layer.
TOP OF CAKE – Cut strawberries in half or slice them and place them over the whipping cream. Put the cake tin back to the fridge.
SAUCE – Boil some water in a medium-sized pan, using moderate heat. Mix cornstarch and sugar and put them into boiling water. Add lemon juice and cook on moderate heat until it thickens. Remove from heat. You can add a few drops of red food color if you wish. Leave to cool at room temperature and put over the strawberries.

2. Strawberry Smoothie Bowl
Smoothie bowls are all the rage this season. They are famous among people who want to have healthy alternatives for their breakfast.
Ingredients
1 cup unsweetened almond milk
2 cups frozen strawberries
2 bananas
4 pitted dates
Instructions
Add all ingredients to a blender. Blend until smooth.
Divide smoothie between 2 large bowls and top with desired toppings.
Crunchy granola, fresh sliced strawberries, and sliced bananas work best as toppings in this recipe.

3. Easy Strawberry Shortcake Trifle
Ingredients
1cupheavy cream
3Tablespoonssugar
1/2teaspoonvanilla
1loafpound cake, cut into cubes
2cupsstrawberries, chopped
Instructions:
In a medium bowl or the bowl of a stand mixer, beat the heavy cream on medium-low speed until light and fluffy. Add the sugar and vanilla, and beat until soft peaks form.
Next, chop the strawberries. Then cut the pound cake into 1-inch cubes.
To assemble the trifle, divide the pound cake in half and distribute evenly between six individual serving glasses. Sprinkle half the strawberries over the top, then add a dollop of whipped cream. Repeat with the remaining pound cake, strawberries, and whipped cream.

4. 3 Ingredient Strawberry Mousse
This 3 ingredient strawberry mouse is a perfect quick fix dessert.
Ingredients
1 pound fresh strawberries, equal to one 16 oz container
2 tbsp sugar, honey, or maple syrup
1 & 1/2 cups heavy cream or full-fat coconut cream
Instructions
Thoroughly wash the strawberries.
Slice the stems off the strawberries
Place strawberries and sugar in a blender and mix until pureed (about 2-3 minutes)
Set aside.
Pour cream into a bowl and mix on high until soft peaks form.
Once you have soft peaks, gently fold the strawberry puree into the cream until everything is well combined.
Divide the strawberry mousse into smaller containers and refrigerate for 30-60 minutes
Mousse can be stored in a covered container for up to 3 days.

5. 3 Ingredient Easy Strawberry Sorbet
The quick strawberry sorbet does not need an ice cream maker to beat the heat.
Ingredients
16oz(approx. 3 cups) fresh or frozen strawberries
2tbspraw honey,as needed for sweetness⠀
1/4cupwarm water,as needed to loosen
Instructions
If the strawberries are not yet frozen, freeze the strawberries until completely solid, which should take 1-2 hours.
Place the frozen strawberries into the bowl of a food processor or heavy-duty blender.
Blend until smooth. ⠀
Add warm water and press with a spatula to help along, as needed.
Taste when smooth, and add raw honey, as needed, for sweetness.
Eat immediately for a softer texture, transfer into a freezer-safe container and freeze for 1-2 hours or until firm.

Thursday 25th March 2021: Through collaborative efforts 35 portable ventilators have been donated to Rescue 1122. Chief guest Dr. Yasmeen Rashid, Health Minister Punjab and Guest of honour Secretary Health, Barrister Nabeel Ahmad Awan, graced the event held at Rescue 1122 Headquarters and handed over the Umbulizers to the Rescue 1122 team.
Commenting on the generous initiative, Dr. Yasmin Rashid said, “I would like to thank ABF, Helping Hand USA, Ferozsons Laboratories Limited, Association of Pakistani Physicians in New England (APPNE), Pakistan Association of Greater Boston (PAGB) and all those involved in the donation drive of critically needed Umbulizers for an urgent response to the rising COVID-19 crisis in Pakistan. It gives me great pride to know that our very own Pakistanis have developed Umbulizer and received international recognition from Harvard and MIT for their innovation. As we celebrate Pakistan Day, I can see a bright future where the next generation continues to create social impact and come back to serve their country. Traditional Ventilators cost $40,000 on average and are only limited to ICU’s. By deploying low cost Umbulizer ventilators we can save millions of tax-payer dollars in imports and at the same time expand access to ventilatory care in ERs and District HQ’s as well. During the current pandemic, health measures are a priority for the Punjab government and together we hope to effectively overcome the crisis at hand. These Umbulizers will provide instant care to critical patients thus saving many lives.”
While talking about this initiative, CEO Ferozsons, Mr. Osman Khalid Waheed, said, “We need to work together in this difficult time. All businesses should collectively show unity to combat the challenges of Covid 19. He further added that these ventilators, known as Umbulizers, have been developed by Pakistani students at Harvard, MIT, and Boston University and received an emergency use authorization from the USFDA. Ferozsons takes great pride in standing committed with the country’s health facilities to provide medical care to Pakistani citizens”.
Director General Rescue emphasized the importance of equipping frontline workers with tools they need to save lives and said, “Rescue 1122 has always been at the forefront of delivering care in the field. We have transferred over 16,000 patients during the first and second wave and Umbulizer ventilators have been pivotal in our rapid response across districts in Punjab. With more devices we will be able to expand access and scale our impact”
PAGB President Siraj Khan, reiterating the importance of improving the health care facilities of Pakistan said, “Keeping in view the current health care crisis at hand, health measures must be a priority for the government, firms, and the overall society as collective efforts have drastic effects. We believe that the Pakistani diaspora can play a crucial role in supporting healthcare organizations and be better equipped to combat COVID-19. We want to thank members of PAGB and members of APPNE for their continuous support. This is just the beginning and we want to expand to other provinces as well”

[Update]: Sajal Aly shared cryptic stories on her Instagram which led to an uproar on social media. She deleted it in a few hours. You can have a look at the deleted story by scrolling down a bit. But what was the uproar about? Since the deleted story was about calling out homewreckers, one was forced to assume that there could be trouble in paradise. And honestly, that scared us because we absolutely love this couple.
But after the whole fiasco, and people making assumptions, it seems Sajal is trying to recover from it. She shared Ahad’s Instagram post on her story. The post is from September 2020 and she added an ‘A’ and a heart to it.

Not only is she amazing in the dramas, but she is also gorgeous in any modeling shoot she does. The first quote is by Mandy Hale. It reads: “Sometimes the best thing you can do is keep your mouth shut and keep your eyes open. The truth always comes out in the end.”
Did someone corner her and put blames on her, because of which she decided not to react but become more vigilant?

What happened? Did someone try to create issues between our adorable endgame Ahad Sajal? Is someone trying to create a misunderstanding between the two?
Hopefully, everything is good, and it won’t lead to something we wouldn’t want but let’s not forget that our industry has a track record of homewrecking allegations and consequent divorces.
That said, we would also like to see the two in some projects again. It has been quite some time since we did.
Sajal Aly and Ahad both have appeared in quite a few projects, and while they were cute, we would like to see them with other actors now.

While 2020 took from us many amazing personalities, it seems 2021 is not staying behind either. 26th March 2021, Friday started with a very sad news-piece. The legendary Pakistani Drama writer Haseena Moin passed away in the early hours. We, alongside the entire nation, were saddened to hear the news. To remember the legend, we decided to list down some of her most famous dramas as a tribute.
These famous dramas include:
1. Dhoop Kinarey
Dhoop Kinarey was a show written by Haseena Apa and directed by Sahira Kazmi. It was a story about a strong girl who was aspiring to become a doctor. Unlike the characters of current times, she would not be struck left and right by antagonist with their evil comments. She knew how to say what felt right to her. And yet, the story would not paint her in a bad light.

2. Ankahi
Ankahi directed by Shoaib Mansoor is one of the best dramas that could have ever been aired. It talks about a lady who is ambitious, gets confused, but also possesses the agency to make the decision for herself be it regarding professional or romantic life.
3. Tanhaiyan
A story about two sisters presented by two amazing actresses, Shahnaz Sheikh and Marina Khan. It got so much love from everyone over the years that it got a sequel decades later.
4. Kasak
Kasak presents a story faced by many Pakistani women. It is about how two people fall in love and cannot have children and the woman only gets ostracized. However, instead of putting up with all the torture by the mother-in-law, the individuals decide to prioritize themselves. They get divorced and remarry other people. Ironically, it is a slap on the mother-in-law’s face because it is the man who was impotent.
5. Parchaiyan
Haseena adapted the Henry James novel, portrait of a lady, and titled it Parchaiyan. The talented director Sahira acted in the drama and the two women gave a vibrant life to the culturally appropriated story.
These Pakistani dramas have made a name for themselves, not in Pakistan only but also in the neighbouring country. Back in the 90s, she even wrote films for Bollywood. It truly is a big loss, the absence of such a great writer. No one can ever match her standard but let’s hope more writers build on her legacy.
