Dunkin Donuts Karachi Finally Speaks Up About The Raid!

DD
Source: Bol News

On Monday, the Dunkin Donuts factory in Karachi’s SITE industrial area was temporarily sealed after Sindh Food Authority raided the premises and found expired products in Karachi.

According to Samaa News, the manufacturing unit had been using expired ingredients. Apparently, the raw material in the factory was found below the standard.

Reportedly, the authorities fined the factory with the fine of Rs. 250,000.

All below the standard raw material and other items were discarded by the authorities. Hygiene rules within the factory were also being violated.

Dunkin Doughnuts

Right after the news broke out on social media, Dunkin Donuts Pakistan took it to their official Facebook page to announce that they operate in Lahore and Islamabad only which shock many DD fans in khi.

[arve url=”https://web.facebook.com/plugins/post.php?href=https%3A%2F%2Fweb.facebook.com%2Fdunkindonuts.pk%2Fposts%2F10158176872383086&width=500″ /]

So, Team Brandsyanrio reached out to Dunkin Donuts Karachi to investigate the matter and ask their stance on the whole situation.

Here’s what they had to say:

The food authority visited our premises when we were in between shifts and our nature of business is such that raw materials like chocolate and flour do spill to the floor. It is only when the next shift arrives that they clean the premises and ensure that the international hygiene and sanitation standards set by Dunkin’ International are achieved before beginning the production process. You are welcome to visit the facility and see for yourself if we’re maintaining the hygiene standards, but let’s not fall prey to allegations that are yet to be proven

Moreover, upon asking for more details, here’s what they said,

Official statement will follow after proper consultation with our lawyers.

Not only that but Dunkin Donuts Pakistan has removed their post on Facebook where they claimed that Dunkin Donuts Karachi is a completely separate entity! WHAT? And how??

Here’s the removed post:

Source: Twitter

Later on in the day, Dunkin Donuts Pakistan uploaded pictures of their ‘hygienic’ kitchen saying,

Our promise, quality product with no compromise on quality of ingredients and hygine. Our DD franchises of Lahore and Islamabad are owned by Phoenix Food Pvt Ltd.

Here are the pictures!

This seems twisted!

Mortein’s Latest Heart-Wrenching Campaign is Highly Inspired By Syrian Ad

Pakistan has already fallen prey to Dengue fever after a number of people have been diagnosed with Dengue since the year 2020 started. In order to combat it Mortein has released its latest campaign #DengueAbNahi.

The message they are portraying is how one’s life can change if they are not protected against dengue. The Ad reports that an estimated 250 lives were lost because of the disease last year and over 50,000 people were affected by it.

Watch the latest Mortein Ad here:

https://www.facebook.com/MorteinPakistan/videos/208054707057694/?t=4

However after watching the campaign it reminds us of a popular video that went viral over social media by Save the Children it pictured a Syrian child who suffered after her life changed over night due to the ongoing war in the country. The heart-breaking Syrian ad was one that was absolutely unforgettable.

If you have a closer look at both the campaigns, you can see the various similarities between the two. One of many such examples is this scene below, where the child is going to bed, the same way the rest of the Mortein ad will remind you of the Syrian Ad.

Snippet from the Mortein Campaign!

Extremely similar snippet from the Syrian Ad

If you’re still not convinced enough, we’ve taken the liberty to show you a different scene recreated in the Pakistani brand’s video.

Hospital scene from the Mortein Video

This expression broke hearts across the world!

Check out the Syrian Campaign – (Most Shocking Second a Day)! Pay heed to the different phases of the campaign and compare it to the Mortein Campaign.

The campaign seems to be highly inspired from the Save The Children Syrian Ad. However, the Mortein Ad is very well executed and really makes one think of the consequences of Dengue. Not only does the patient suffer during the disease but the care-givers are equally under immense emotional pressure at the time.

Lets all hope that the social awareness campaign against Dengue will help Mortein save precious lives this year.

What are your thoughts on Mortein’s latest campaign? Let us know in the comments below.

Osman Khaild Butt Calling Out People for Photoshopping Aurat March Posters

Osman Khalid Butt

Pakistani actor, Osman Khalid Butt has always been vocal regarding social issues that prevail within our societies. He has been supporting Aurat March since the very beginning of the movement in Pakistan.

This time around, Aurat March caught attention as writer Khalil ur Rehman and Marvi Sirmed were caught in an argument on national television where Rehman had uttered shameful slurs to the former journalist.

The placards, however, this time around were breath of fresh air.

While someone on the internet edited one of the placards circulating on social media. OKB took it to his twitter handle to highlight the issue.

Please stop this nonsense.
I cannot believe we are stooping this low. I cannot believe people – even those on my timeline – are sharing Photoshopped images like this to discredit the march, and shame & humiliate women.

OPPO Reno3 Series Coming to Pakistan, Making Every Shot Clear

Lahore 10th March 2020: – OPPO, the leading global smart device brand, announced its plan to launch the international version of the Reno3 Series in Pakistan. The decision on the launch location reaffirmed the Pakistani market’s importance to OPPO’s global strategy.

Following the successful launch of Reno3 Series – the world’s first Qualcomm-powered dual-mode 5G smartphone – in China at the end of last year, OPPO is now bringing the latest Reno3 Series to customers in other markets, with slight adjustments to fit their local needs. To fit the local market context, it will still mainly support 4G. However, it does come with some key breakouts as the result of OPPO’s consistent investment in user-centric technology R&D.

Through Reno Series, OPPO has been trying to achieve a well-balanced combination of technology and fashion. With powerful photography settings, Reno3 Series claims to deliver the performance of “clear in every shot”, under all kinds of lighting context. With Reno3 Series, more great details will be captured under the daylight, while dark scenes would be brighter through its cameras.

Dim-light photography would not be a challenge anymore with the powerful Ultra Dark Mode. Also, video shooting is made to be even smarter and simpler than before. From the first ray of sunlight at dawn to the silent night with only stars, Reno3 Series is here to empower all its users to discover, explore and capture more beauty in life through the application of technological innovation.

The Pioneering 44MP + 2MP Dual Punch-hole Camera

Reno3 Series will have the world’s first 44MP + 2MP Dual Punch-Hole Camera on OLED screen, which not only makes it lighter and slimmer but it also delivers next-level photography performance.

44MP Primary Camera delivers high-definition selfies with authentic details like people’s facial texture and ornaments. The application of binocular bokeh with the front primary camera and bokeh camera will bring even better selfie performance. The dual punch-hole design does not only improve on selfie-taking but also offers excellent hands-on experience. It is lighter and thinner but perfectly fits in the hand.

Further Breakthroughs Based on Powerful Zoom Technology

Reno3 Series raises the bar of mobile photography with revolutionary zooming performance. Being a trailblazer in this field, OPPO has been making a consistent long-term investment in zooming technology evolution. Ever since the debut of OPPO 5x losses zoom on MWC 2017, the company has achieved three iterations and managed to pack it in slim bodies and present it to users around the world.

Reno3 Pro will carry on the series’ mission to bring more technology from the lab to everyday life. The 2x optical zoom, 5x hybrid optical zoom and the maximum of 20x digital zoom on Reno3 Pro can generate clear images with little noise in all focal lengths in photo mode. With optimization on multiple aspects, it can provide a clear view of text within a 10m distance.

Powerful 64MP Zoom Quad cam with Ultra Dark Mode

Reno3 Pro is packed with 64MP Zoom Quad cam, making it extremely versatile and enabled to answer well to different shooting requirements in life scenarios. The powerful 64MP Ultra-clear Main Camera allows photos to have a wider zoom range, containing clearer details.

The AI-powered Ultra Dark Mode is also significantly increased from Reno2, making photo taking in dim light much easier, empowering everyone to take clear night shots of what human eyes can’t see. Popular scenarios are upgraded based on OPPO’s customer observation.

Ultra-Clear 108MP Image Presents All Kind of Details

Reno3 Pro will present Ultra Clear Image up to 108MP; Apart from the 64MP Ultra-clear Main Camera, Reno3 Pro is the industry pioneer in using advanced software to level up the image quality. Pakistan 11th Largest Arms Importer in the World

Arms
Source: Al Jazeera

On Monday, a report published by the Stockholm International Peace Research Institute (Sipri) stated that Pakistan is the eleventh largest arms importer in the world.

Russia, Italy, and China are the key suppliers to Pakistan which make up to 2.6% of global arms imports during the years 2015-2019, says the report.

The research is based on armaments, arms control, conflict, and disarmament. Over the past five years, the report indicates India which is Pakistan’s neighboring country to be the second-largest arms importer in the world.

A senior researcher at Sipri said, “As in previous years, in 2019 India and Pakistan — which are nuclear-armed states — attacked each other using an array of imported major arms.”

He added, “Many of the world’s largest arms exporters have supplied these two states for decades, often exporting arms to both sides.”

“Between 2010–14 and 2015–19, arms imports by India and Pakistan decreased by 32 and 39 percent, respectively. While both countries have long-standing aims to produce their own major arms, they remain largely dependent on imports and have substantial outstanding orders and plans for imports of all types of major arms,” said the report.

AnTuTu Benchmark Apps Removed By Google From Play Store

Source: Android Police

AnTuTu is a renowned benchmarking tool for mobile devices that have recently been removed by Google from the Play Store. Furthermore, the three benchmarking applications with AnTuTu branding have also been removed from the play store.

Source: Giz China

It has been speculated that the removal could be a part of a crackdown on Cheetah Mobile after its repeated policy violations as it appears AnTuTu is owned by Cheetah Mobile.

The three applications are; AnTuTu 3DBench, AnTuTu Benchmark and AItutu Benchmark. AppBrain, an analytics service states the latest update for the AI Benchmark app to be on February 13th while the regular app was updated on February 7th. The exact date of removal for all the apps is not confirmed, however, the main AnTuTu App was available until 22nd February.

Looking into AnTuTu’s website, there seems to be no reference to Cheetah Mobile and it even has a separate privacy policy. However, the Tianyancha business database lists Fu Sheng as the chairman and manager of Beijing AnTuTu Technology Co. Sheng also serves as the CEO of Cheetah Mobile.

After tech-website, Giz China reached out to Antutu, the company has now responded in order to shed light on the ongoing situation.

Here’s what AnTuTu has clarified about the issue at hand:

“The team had received a notification email from Google on March 7th informing us that Antutu was one of the related publisher accounts of Cheetah Mobile, all Antutu apps were removed from the Play Store. But infact, we think there is some misunderstanding about it. Antutu is NOT the related account of Cheetah Mobile.”

AnTuTu further explains its business relationship with Cheetah Mobile,

“Antutu was founded in 2011, even before Cheetah Mobile, and is one of the earliest Google Play developers. Cheetah Mobile invested in us in around 2014 and became one of our shareholders since then. However, we still retain a considerable account of shares and Independent operation of the company as well as our own independent Google Play account. Cheetah Mobile has never touched our Google Play account, and AnTuTu has not done any promotion of Cheetah Mobile’s software.”

AnTuTu believes that this is simply a misunderstanding with Google and the issue will be resolved soon. They are also working on changing their legal supplier.

In the meantime, the company has replaced the links to download the apps on its website with APK links. The question now remains whether AnTuTu will return to Play Store and how would Google be explaining it all?

Renowned Pakistani Personalities Are Speaking Against The Aurat March Attack In Islamabad!

Source/ Dawn

Numerous people were wounded after the Aurat March in Islamabad came under attack by religious men – one of whom was masked as a woman in a burqa – on Sunday as the march was drawing to a close in front of Islamabad Press Club.

The occurrence took place when the march was about to come to an end. Some people removed a cloth partition installed for the safety of the participants and entered the demonstration.

On the other side of the partition, a counter-protest had been underway. However, the situation was soon brought under control by the cops.

There were people who gave their two cents on the entire chaos at the march on Sunday.

Human Rights Minister Shireen Mazari also issued a condemnation, saying that while people have the right to disagree, “violence is unacceptable”.

It’s sad to see how women are not appreciated enough in our society and the reason to they were stoned was because they demanded equality.

Furthermore, the men, who reportedly belonged to the Jamiat Ulema-e Islam – Fazl (JUI-F) and Lal Masjid, were hurling abuses at women, telling them to stop chanting the slogan ‘Mera Jism, Meri Marzi’.

Women’s safety is actually something to think about in Pakistan

Questions are being raised regarding the negligence of Islamabad police at the Aurat March

It’s no surprise that the entire facade was to try and put women down. Irfana Yasser was returning to her car with her children when a man threw chilli powder at her face while many others reported that the religious men showed them their private parts.

Osman Khalid Butt also added his opinions on the matter

Actress Mansha Pasha stated that the alleged defenders if Islam needs a correct definition of women rights.

Is this really the Naya Pakistan?

Pakistan had an exciting weekend this time around as social media rejoiced the launch of the much-awaited Audi E-Tron Quattro SUV!

Audi has taken up the motto ‘Electric has gone Audi’ as it has now joined the electric vehicle game.

The automotive giant launched the E-Tron yesterday, 8th March at its Karachi showroom.

The E-Tron is a luxury SUV that will remind you of likes like the Jaguar I-Pace and Tesla Model X.

Under the Hood

Audi’s first all-electric production SUV is battery powered with a 95.3 kWh lithium-ion battery pack. It is powered with two electric motors (one at each axle) which gives a combined result of a maximum of 402HP and 561Nm of torque.

Because of its super-powered batteries, the E-Tron can go from 0 to 100km/h in 6.6 seconds!

According to PakWheels, the five-seat crossover can make use of 150.0-kW DC fast-chargers that allow it to regain roughly 80km in 10 minutes and about 260km in 30 minutes. Those using a more conventional 240-volt outlet will be able to fully charge the e-Tron in about nine hours.

Inside the Cabin

Here are the following features in the cabin:

  • Digital gauge cluster—called Virtual Cockpit
  • Two flush-mounted touchscreens in the center
  • A head-up display
  • Massaging front seats
  • The infotainment system features dual touchscreens (10.1-inch on top and an 8.8-in below)
  • Apple Carplay
  • Android Auto
  • Bang and Olufsen audio system
  • Wi-Fi hotspot
  • Wireless charging

Furthermore, because of no traditional driveshaft or transmission, the cabin and cargo area gets even more spacious, measuring 29 cubic feet behind the back row and 57 with the seatbacks folded flat.

Safety

For any automotive manufacturer, the safety of its customers is a priority. The E-Tron was awarded 5-stars for the crash-test rating from the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA). Moreover, it was named Top Safety Pick+ by the Insurance Institute for Highway Safety (IHSA).

Price

The E-Tron has been priced at PKR 15,500,000 (including all government taxes and duties).
