4 Inspiring Ways Countries Can Help End The Lockdown

Lockdown is bound to end one day even though it may seem endless at the moment. Some countries are still imposing a strict lockdown while others are implementing a “smart one.” Regardless, a substantial positive change is being witnessed because of the lockdowns in terms of the environment. Air pollution has seen a dramatic decrease, skies are more transparent, stars are visible, and animals are happier.

To make the lockdown end responsibly and to care for our planet after, some changes must be made. Here’s what some countries are doing:

1. France Is Using Bicycles

Citizens cycling in France

France is paying for cycling lessons and bike repairs for its citizens. Their approach is driven by the goal of ending coronavirus and air pollution. The burden on public transport will be significantly reduced by encouraging people to use bicycles. Moreover, it will also ensure that the spread of the virus is limited. If people are not gathered in the same vehicles to travel, the range of the virus will be limited.

2. Pakistan Is Focusing on Trees

Pakistan is paying its unemployed citizens to plant trees in remote areas. This is part of the 10 Billion Tree Tsunami Project initiated by the government of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa in response to global warming. Three hundred fifty thousand hectares of land is promised to be restored under this project. This initiative by Pakistan is helping its people stay afloat during a financial crisis.

In addition to that, it is helping to save the planet and be active in the charge against climate change.

3. NewYork City Is Prioritising Bicycling

NYC recently opened 7 miles of streets for cyclists and pedestrians. In the coming weeks, they have announced that up to 100 miles will be open for use. Their strategy aims to keep people safe, keep the virus controlled, and make their city cleaner.

2019 was termed as a deadly year for bicyclists in NYC; this is what they’re doing to be better.

4. Germany Has A Different Approach

Germany is not focusing on the now; it is focusing on the future. Once lockdown ends, they want to make sure that economic recovery is made in an environmentally safe way.  It is investing in sectors and companies that create jobs producing less CO2 emissions. Moreover, they are increasing subsidies for sustainable goods. For example, there are cash incentives to purchase an electric car.

Why It’s Important To Do This

Climate change has often been termed as “the pandemic we are ignoring.” The Australian fires last year because of which millions of animals were killed, and more than half the forest was burned is only just the beginning. Climate change is making our home uninhabitable for us, and our active participation is only in our own best interest. Be the change!

vivo Celebrates Three Years Of Smartphone Innovation & Setting Trends In Pakistan

vivo pakistan

Lahore, 6th July 2020: Vivo, the leading global smartphone brand, today marks the completion of three years in Pakistan. In a short time, Vivo has adapted quickly to understand and anticipate the ever-changing needs of young smartphone users for trendsetting technologies, pro-photography features, and elevated mobile experiences.

“vivo has been consistent with its technological advancements, and its latest innovations have made it one of the top smartphone brands in the country. It wouldn’t have been possible without the love and continuous support of our customers, esteemed channel partners, distributors, and retailers,” said Mr. Eric Kong, Chief Executive Officer at vivo Pakistan.

Exemplifying its commitment to bringing best-in-class smartphones in Pakistan, vivo introduced its customers to the several notable ‘Firsts’ global innovations and exemplary technologies, from the World’s First FullView™ Display to the In-Display Fingerprint Scanning and Pop-Up Cameras.

  • In 2017, vivo became Pakistan’s first smartphone brand to introduce the FullView™ Display on the vivo V7+ with a very high screen to body ratio and minimal bezels. The vivo V7+ was also the world’s first smartphone to offer a 24MP selfie camera.
  • In 2018, vivo surpassed its record by offering vivo V9 with a newer version of FullView™ Display featuring an even higher screen-to-body ratio. With V11 Pro, it managed to achieve over 85% — dubbed as the Halo FullView™ Display. Moreover, V11 Pro was the first smartphone in Pakistan to offer vivo’s revolutionary In-Display Fingerprint Scanning technology, eliminating the need for a physical scanning pad.
  • In 2019, continuing its streak of cutting-edge innovation, vivo launched the world’s first 32MP Pop-up Selfie Camera on the vivo V15 series in Pakistan. V17 Pro upped the game later that year, with its Dual Pop-up Selfie Camera, seen first time on a smartphone.
  • Also, in 2019, vivo introduced the V17 with futuristic iView Display and the L-shape Quad Rear Camera module – just at the beginning of 2020 vivo took the style game to another level with a unique diamond-camera for the ultra-stylish vivo S1 Pro.
  • The latest flagship launched this year. Namely, the vivo V19 brings extreme power and the Dual iView Display, featuring two selfie cameras on the screen and 33W vivo FlashCharge 2.0 with extreme video stability options both in front and rear cameras.

According to the recent data from GFK, “vivo is currently one of the top smartphone brands in Pakistan. It is a great achievement by any smartphone brand in a competitive market like Pakistan, which was already occupied by multiple global brands. This rapid growth speaks volumes about the product quality.

In its popular budget series, S and Y, vivo in Pakistan also offers many hi-tech variants, which are the hot-sellers in the market and the first choice of young customers. Both series provide a complete smartphone experience with state-of-the-art camera features, battery power, shimmering design, fast charging, and ultra-game mode at the most consumer-friendly prices.

Consumers in Pakistan are opening up to a smarter world and rapidly embracing global technologies and transformation that is taking place in the smartphone industry.  vivo foresees excellent potential in the Pakistan market and hence, a prosperous future for its products. As we move forward towards the 5G era, vivo will continue to strive together with our partners and distributors to make the smartphone experience worth appreciating for our customers.

9-Year-Old Baloch Girl Is Making Pakistanis Proud By Surfing The Waves

The 9 year old surfing

Surfing on the waves like a pro was none other than a 9-year-old girl from Balochistan. Social media is in awe of the little girl surfing in the Pasni area of Balochistan.

People are coming together to wish her well, pray for her successful future, and applaud her for her bravery. Her name is still unknown, but that is not holding anyone back from appreciating her efforts.

Surfing is not a common sport in Pakistan. The Clifton Beach in Karachi is often cited as one place to surf, but there are rarely surfers there. Those who even visit the beach otherwise complain about the level of pollution there. However, this girl found her place, and she owned it like a pro.

Pakistani Youth Making Us Proud

Nothing makes the people of any land happier than seeing the younger generation succeed. To be able to find your passion at such a young age and to excel in the field is extraordinary. Names like Arfa Karim, Malala Yousafzai, and Shaheer Khan Niazi are just some other examples. They all made us proud with their remarkable achievements at the youngest of ages.

Pakistan Needs To Support Its Youth More

Young girls playing

Seeing this girl surfing so solidly has made everyone proud. However, have we ever thought about how much our country has supported her? Our guesses are not so much. Pakistan rarely has institutes where sports like surfing can be taught. Private lessons require you to sell an arm and a leg. Her parents probably prepared this brave girl.

More significant investment and support in such areas are bound to encourage more boys and girls. They will not only become excellent at the sport but will also be able to go international.

She’s Challenging Cultural Norms

In a country where young girls are mistreated, judged, and oppressed, this girl is surfing fearlessly. Many other girls her age are married or not allowed to leave their house. Many are denied their right to education.

However, this 9-year-old is a change in the right direction. Kudos to her parents, who are raising their girls to be brave and take on the world as it is.  In addition to that, pursuing sports is not typical for girls in Pakistan.

Aside from the taunts of being too manly, professionally, female games are more scarce. We’re hoping by the time this girl grows up, she takes pride in her country also.

Moreover, many of the people applauding her right now are those who would shame her had she been older. Instead of focusing on her talent, much of the society would have focused on her fitted suit. Or perhaps, why her swimming suit does not have a hijab attached to it. It is important to remember that we need to play our part in making the country safer for girls.

Elon Musk Is Selling ‘Short Shorts’ & Twitter Can’t Handle It!

Elon Musk at a talk

Elon Musk is venturing into clothing, and people are getting a kick out of it. The billionaire tech entrepreneur is selling short shorts now, and they sold out in minutes too. The red satin Tesla shots sure did surprise everyone, but they were a hit.

The bright red and gold shorts were described to be able to provide “exceptional comfort” on the website. Musk shared the link on his Twitter to nearly 37 million followers, and it sold out in less than 5 minutes. The ‘S3XY’ on the back are names of Tesla’s four vehicles.

How Did The Twitterati respond

People on Twitter with equal parts were surprised, humored, and excited. While some tweeted about how senseless this was, others jumped at the opportunity to grab them. After all, Musk is a businessman, and he knew how to sell shorts. With bright hues and the promise of comfort, naturally, hundreds were persuaded. There are many speaking about how Musk, once away, robbed the people, but others are too busy joking about it.

What’s The Story Behind The Shorts

Tesla did not venture into clothing as an expansion strategy. This was just another one of Musk’s unique digs that he took at someone. In the stock market, there are “short sellers” who place bets that a company’s share prices will go down. When they go up, they get slammed with losses. Such was the case last week with Tesla’s short seller. Tesla crushed his vehicle delivery expectations, which made his stock go to an all-time high. His market cap was brought to well over $200 billion.

Moreover, the spike led to CEO Musk gain $1.6 billion to his net worth on Thursday. His entire fortune stands at $53.4 billion now, according to Bloomberg. Musk is also the 16th richest person in the world.

The shorts being sold by Tesla

So, in short, the short shorts were a jab at the short-sellers.

The 420 Joke

The price Musk tweeted also has a backstory to it. He tweeted that the shorts were on sale for “Only $69.420!”

This was a direct reference to his tweet in 2017 that landed him in hot waters. In 2017, he tweeted that he was taking Tesla private for $420 a share. Although later, he confessed that it was a pot joke for his girlfriend, he got into trouble. The Securities and Exchange Commission was unhappy with him, and he had to pay heft fines and resign as Chairman.

PUBG Mobile: Teen Spends Rs 1.6mn On In-App Purchases & Upgrades

PUBG Mobile
PC: SportsKeeda

Just a couple days ago, Playerunknown’s Battlegrounds Mobile or PUBG Mobile announced that it crossed the 3-million mark in revenue.

The shooter game is currently one of the most popular multi-player titles to have hit the playstores.

So much so that it has many young and old, male and female gamers addicted. In Pakistan, these gamers have been protesting against Pakistan Telecommunication Authority’s decision to suspend the game.

But, what caught out attention was an Indian teenager who has blown INR 1.6mn (roughly $ 21,425) on in-app purchases and upgrades.

Not only did this teen spend money on himself, but he also purchased upgrades for his friends and team members.

This information came into light after the 17-year-old’s parents access his three bank accounts to view the transactions he had made.

To avoid being caught, the boy reportedly rotated the transactions from account to account.

He even lied to his parents about spending a large sum of time on his phone to study, whereas he was playing the game for several hours a day.

Moreover, it was reported that he would take his mother’s phone as well to binge play the action game as well as delete transaction messages from the bank.

Another boy, 15-YO from Punjab, also reportedly spent over INR 2 Lakh of his grandfather’s money on purchases.

Reportedly, the boy started to play the game in January is said to have been trained by a senior from school to make the payments via bank accounts.

These are just a couple of cases from many in which children have committed such fraud with their parents and relatives to steal money for the game.

Maaz-ur-Rehman has studied at a Madrasa until he was 16 years old. Later, he became an Imam of the Masjid. He pursued a master’s degree in Arabic and then gave his CSS exams. He acquired a 6th position in the KPK region and has been allocated to the police department.

Recently, the CSS results for the previous year (2019) came out, and many people made it to the top of the list. Most of them have had a formal education. However, Maaz-ur-Rehaman has been a Madrasa student. Yes, you heard that, right!

Education at Madrasas

Education at Madrasas have been showcased as problematic in the past, but Maaz’s case is a clear example of how all fingers are not the same size. While it can be problematic, people like Maaz have been through the same route, which just proves that perceptions need to be changed in our society towards these kids.

He says madrasa students are competent too! It is just how each individual weaves their journey. He aims to alter the perception of people, so their attitude towards similar children changes with time.

“When people like me will come forward, and Madrasa students will work hard and pursue education … they are competent and very much talented.”

When there is a will, there is a way!

What Maaz has achieved didn’t come easy,  he told the hosts of the show. He failed twice in his CSS exams, first time five courses, the second time, three courses. He once cleared his exams but was not allocated to any department, but he didn’t lose hope. In his 4th attempt, he finally made it to the end of the finish line.

“I started preparations from scratch and faced failures many times in my road to success. I failed CSS exams twice; the first time I failed five subjects, whereas, in the second attempt, I failed three papers. Then I passed Provincial Management Services (PMS) exams but wasn’t allocated to any group”.

A Pakistani girl from Quetta has topped in her Central Superior Services (CSS) exam in Balochistan. Read the full story here:

Indian Man Buys Gold Face Mask Worth $4,000 To Protect Himself

Gold Face Mask

An Indian businessman, Shankar Kurhade, who comes from a state called Pune, buys a gold face mask, which is worth a whopping $4000 to protect himself from the deadly coronavirus.

The amount of gold used in the mask weighs 60 grams (equal to 2 ounces). It took the craftsmen eight days to bring the piece to life.

The biggest concern the businessman had with the ordinary mask was that it blocked breathing and was uncomfortable, whereas the gold mask is comfortable. He said, “It is a thin mask and has tiny pores that are helping me to breathe.”

The man also adds that he is unsure if the mask he has gotten tailor-made for himself protects him from the coronavirus or not, He said, “I am not sure if it will be effective to protect me from a coronavirus infection, but I am taking other precautions.”

He is, however, taking other precautionary measures. Since the day he has stepped out with his gold mask, people want to take pictures with him. “People are asking me for selfies; they are awestruck when they see me wearing the gold mask in markets,” he said.

Here is how you can make a face mask at home: Read the full story here:

How To Make A Face Mask At Home In 45 Seconds!

The 49-year old businessman says he likes to wear a kilogram of jewelry when stepping out. His jewelry pieces include necklaces, a ring on each hand, and bracelets. Now, a gold face mask.

The company that made the mask, Kurhade, who makes industrial sheds, initially told the tabloid that they got the idea of making a face mask out of gold when they saw it on the news. However, the man wore a cover made out of silver.

Wearing facemask can be intimidating daily. Read how they alter our interactions with others:

How Facemasks Alter Our Interactions with Others

In India, it is mandatory to wear a facemask before leaving home. The decision came after the coronavirus cases increased rapidly in the country. There are around 650,000 + confirmed cases as of now and more than 18,600 fatalities.

How do you know which facemasks are authentic?

Here’s a simple trick, wear the face mask and try to blow a candle. If you successfully blow the candle, you better get a different quality face mask before stepping out. Since the pandemic, the market is flooded with fake and low quality face masks that can prove to be dangerous.

A detailed document on the use of facemasks is provided on the World Health Organization’s (WHO) website “for individuals in the community, public health and infection prevention and control (IPC) professionals, health care managers, health care workers (HCWs), and community health workers.”

You can do your detailed research from reliable sources on how to stay safe during the ongoing pandemic as we will be using face masks for quite a while now. Some parts of the world are still locked down to curb COVID-19.

🇬🇧 Our July/August issue is themed ‘The Madness issue’, with four different covers each designed to address different dimensions of human behaviour, during a time when the global pandemic has brought people to confinement. One of the covers portrays a hospital scene where the model is being taken care of by her real life mother and grandmother, shot by photographer Branislav Simoncik. Our intention is to open up the topic of mental health, and bring to the discussion the institutions, the science and the people that are involved with mental health today. The cover story explores the historical context of mental health and is designed to reflect real life and authentic stories, inspired by deep research of hundreds of reportage photographs from some of the most relevant and famous documentarists who have captured mental health hospitals. Inside the issue, features interviews and contributions from psychiatrists, sociologists, psychologists and other experts in the field. Mental health forms just one of the topics explored within the issue and is not linked to the theme of madness but instead covered as an aspect of human emotions and behaviour. The cover issue turned out to be straight-up offensive and insensitive towards mentally unstable people. Vogue Portugal handled this sensitive issue exceptionally irresponsibly.

Taking the right steps

It is noteworthy that due to the global pandemic coronavirus, magazines are trying to come up with innovative and exceptional ideas to attract the audience. For instance: British Vogue photographed three frontline workers in the pandemic. The models included a black hijabi supermarket worker. With this step, the magazine highlighted the efforts of people who are not appreciated enough.

Danish Taimoor Reveals Ayeza Khan’s Real Name!

Danish Taimoor

Who doesn’t love celebrity secrets?

Being a celebrity may not be as people perceive it to be. It is indeed tough. People may think it is all glitz and glamour, but it’s much more than that. A celebrity life comprises of struggles, sleepless nights, long hours of the shoot, and so much more. The effort it takes a celebrity to be recognized in the industry can’t be gauged so easily.

To some, it may look like that a celebrity might be living a happy and fulfilling life, but that’s not the case with everyone. When compared to the lives of unknown people, stars do have more opportunities to prove themselves and to find success and happiness.

Moreover, stepping into the world of entertainment takes a lot of guts and courage because there’s one thing that everyone needs to always keep in mind is that not everyone is going to like them. So, there are high chances of people throwing hate on them and criticizing them. This usually happens when a celebrity scandal/rumor surfaces on the internet, or some controversial couple photoshoot goes viral.

Danish Taimoor Reveals Ayeza Khan’s Real Name!

Speaking of Pakistani celebrity couples, some of them have honestly taken over our hearts like Aiman Khan and Muneeb Butt, Hina Altaf and Agha Ali, Hamza Ali Abbasi, and Naimal Khawar and Danish Taimoor and Ayeza Khan. Danish and Ayeza have been ruling our hearts ever since they tied the knot in August 2014.

Moreover, the two are also adored because they belong to the same industry, and it’s always wholesome to see them on-screen. Not only that, but Danish and Ayeza never fail to surprise their fans with their adorable couple photoshoots.

Just recently, in a game show hosted by Maria Wasti, Danish Taimoor recalled a story from his past. He said,

When I was in college, I had a friend. After one year of being together, I told her straight that we can’t get married as i am too young for it and wanted to focus on my future.

Upon which the girl said,

“No, there be someone else in your life.” To which Danish responded by saying that there is no one, and he’s actually honest. As the girl kept on insisting, Danish felt agitated and randomly said yes, her name is Kanza.

This incident, according to Danish, had taken place ten years before he had met Ayeza and turned out that Ayeza’s real name is Kanza!

Here’s the video where he revealed her name!

What do you think of Ayeza Khan’s real name? Let us know in the comments below.

Federal Minister of Science and Technology, Fawad Hussain Chaudhry, made an important announcement in a meeting. He said that the Scientific Committee of the National Astronomical Observation Commission would build the space museum in 8 months. In addition to this, the committee will be setting up five astronomical observatories in the capital of Islamabad and Gwadar.

On the 3rd of July, Federal Minister Fawad Chaudhry tweeted that people will be able to explore the moon and the stars by themselves. He further said that the ministry has also asked the provincial governments to establish space museums in their provincial capitals.

Karachi’s good ol’ planetarium

This step will help spread scientific knowledge and educational awareness in the people. Before this, there was a PIA Planetarium in Karachi. In the planetarium, people were able to see a view of the night sky. Schools and colleges would bring their pupils on educational trips to the planetarium. There is also an old airplane in the planetarium.

Ministry’s initiatives

The Ministry of Science and Technology has taken tremendous steps in the promotion of science throughout the country. The ministry has made a mobile app for Android and iOS systems to sight the new moon. This has also put an end to the confusion that traditional moon sightings had previously caused.

Earlier these days, Pakistan also became one of the few countries to make a ventilator called PakVent1.

The ventilators are now operational. National Disaster Management Authority created these vents with the help of the Ministry of Science and Technology. It is commendable that Pakistan took this unusual step that too in a global pandemic. These vents will not only help the hospitals throughout the country in the epidemic but also afterward.

We only hope that the Ministry of Science and Technology will keep making progress at the same pace.

What do you think about the initiatives taken by Pakistan in the fields of science and technology? Let us know in the comments below.

4 Radical Reasons Why Brands Must Focus On Evolving

Brands require a radical evolving mechanism today to survive the future. The word ‘Brand’ is no longer an identifier of a product maker; it identifies communities. Gone are the olden days where all you had to do for sales was to make a product. Today, it’s much more than that, and all the more difficult. Keep reading to find out how a company can stay afloat in the coming years.

Why The Need To Evolve

Previously, ‘brands’ became names of those manufacturers or areas that made the best quality products. For instance, we know Silicon Valley is the hub for all this tech and innovation. That’s how consumers identified them. However, today, brands have become a source of unison for people with shared beliefs and values. Unless and until they aren’t creating an experience for their customers or making them feel belonged, they’re walking on eggshells.

1. First Step Is To Understand Society

There’s no place or space for complacency today. You have to be vocal, active, and participating in social and political movements. The wave of brand activism that took place after the BlackLivesMatter movement is a great example. Those who spoke up united their customers while those who were silent lost them— it is that simple.

2. Creating An Experience

A consumer having a happy shopping experience

Consumers today value the experience of shopping more than shopping itself. Your store or your product needs to be sold to them in an emotionally valuable way. Nike brings its truck to football fields, and while that may boost sales on its own, it creates an experience too. It allows parents and children to have quality time together as they shop.

If your employees are complacent in serving the customers, if your policies are not accommodating, your customer will not feel welcomed.

3. Value and Incorporate Human Psychology

Brands need to tend to consumer psychologies

Psychologically, humans need to feel like they belong. Your brand needs to reach out to a whole community of people who are alike, so a ‘family’ is created. A consumer can only feel belonged if you have an ethos if you provide an experience and understand society. Sharing values, skills, and points of view come above sharing products.

For instance, Disney’s latest characters are multi-dimensional characters that reflect individual personalities in society. The sister overburdened by family responsibilities (Elsa) or a girl wanting to set things right (Moana). Because of this very reason, characters move beyond the screens onto products, parks, and billboards while earning Disney profits.

4. Agility Is A Huge Factor In Sales

It’s the age-old understanding that small firms can respond to likes faster than large ones. Large companies have a plethora of processes to undergo before they churn out a product. They have way more factors to consider than their smaller counterparts. However, the ability of a small firm to respond quickly almost always plays in their favor. High fashion brands churn out a collection twice a year while Zara restocks a new one every 11 days.

Some might wait for those twice a year collections, but in between, they turn to fast fashion brands.

The act of pilgrimage holds important sentimental and religious significance for millions.

Due to the novel coronavirus, it had been predicted that Hajj 2020 might have to be called off. Not only did this hurt sentiments but also left many afraid of what will happen next.

After weeks of taking precautions, following SOPs, regular disinfecting, it was finally decided that Hajj will be carried out this year. However, no international pilgrims will perform the act; only selective locals will.

To ensure everything goes according to plan to nip COVID-19 in the bud, the government of Saudi Arabia has taken out a new set of SOPs and protocols for performing Hajj.

Hajj 2020 SOPs

Hajj

According to the new protocol, touching the Holy Kaaba is strictly banned this year. Each pilgrim will have a distance of 1.5 meters between each other.

Reportedly, other holy sites such as Mina or Arafat will be limited. Facemasks have become mandatory for all pilgrims as well as organizers until further notice.

Hajj 2020 Refund

Those who had applied for Hajj can get their refund.  Pakistan’s Ministry of Religious Affairs has also announced that if any successful Hajj 2020 applicant wants a refund for any reason, they may apply for the return of their money.

What Would Be The Procedure To Get Your Refund?

1. The applicants can get their refund forms from www.hajjinfo.org. The ministry will then issue a Refund Authority Letter that would allow the applicant to get his/her deposited money back from the relevant bank branch.

2. After getting the refund, the applicant would get another application that would be submitted to Section Officer (Hajj Policy) requesting permission to allow his blood relative as their substitute to perform Hajj in his/her place.

It’s funny how your perceptions can be so off, like when you’re searching for a place to fall in and you realize you’ve been there the whole time, or how just an evening stroll down towards the glorious sunset can take all your worries away, the ones that shouldn’t be there in the first place, and why the hell not? . . Maybe the best course of action if you’re ever lost in the wilderness is to drop all your concerns, hold someone’s hand, and walk down towards the dying light. 📸@saad_zubairy #aethetics #aethetic #photography #lightroom #pics #mobilephotography #ibakarachi #iba #lifeatibakarachi #karachi #ibacamp #ibacampus #university #motivation #beautifullines #poetry #dawnphotography #snapseed #snapseededit

The degree solely focuses on empowering students who do not come from a non-computer science background. The 2 years program that has been designed by the Faculty of Computer Sciences (FCS) has facilitated the students by adding foundation level courses that will help them reach the level of understanding of that of a student from a computer science background.

“The advancement in artificial intelligence, communications, and robotics across the globe has led to the high demand of data scientists. Although Pakistan lies at the onset of this development, an increasing need is being felt in the software industry and service sectors like financial institutions, telecommunication organizations, healthcare providers, and multi-nationals to produce a trained workforce,” says the Executive Director, IBA, Dr. S Akbar Zaidi.

7th July 2020:

Earlier, Javed Afridi had tweeted about Ertugrul becoming the next ambassador for Peshawar Zalmi. Fans instead insisted Esra Bilgic to be a part of the league.

It didn’t take much time for the league to get the Turkish actress on board. Earlier on, the actress tweeted, saying, “I will be sharing some good news with you soon.@JAfridi10 @PeshawarZalmi”

It looks as if Pakistan might be on the verge of witnessing a classical crossover between the two countries.

Cricketer, Wahab Riaz, responded to Esra’s tweet,” looking forward to hearing this news Javed Bhai.”

“I’d Have Visited Pakistan Several Times by Now” – Esra Bilgic

It looks like fans will finally be able to meet their new favorite Turkish actress. Previously, PSL matches had to be dismissed as a safety measure to curb the deadly coronavirus. Have something to add? Let us know in the comment section below.

3rd July 2020: The owner of the Peshawar Zalimi, Javed Afridi, hinted in a tweet earlier of hiring Ertugrul as the next brand ambassador for his PSL franchise.

He tweeted, “WHAT IF #ErtugrulGhazi JOIN PESHAWAR ZALMI AS A BRAND AMBASSADOR.” The tweet garnered great reaction from his fans and looks like your favorite Turkish actor might just land in Pakistan as a brand ambassador for the crazy cricket nation.

Just recently, Ertugrul’s main actress, Esra Bilgic, who plays Haleema Sultan’s character in the series, told Pakistani fans on her social media that if there were no travel restrictions, she probably had come to Pakistan multiple times by now.

A fan knows precisely who the crowd wants to be the next brand ambassador for Peshawar Zalimi, one and only, Esra Bilgic aka Haleema Sultan

Another fan however wants Saad ud din Kopek instead. All in all, Pakistan has been following the series religiously since Ramzan. The series was dubbed in Urdu and was aired on state-owned TV channel, PTV.

Signs That Prove Pakistanis Are Obsessed With Dirilis Ertugrul!

Some fans think there has been an agreement already! We think so too.

Ertugrul isn’t the crowd’s first choice.

It looks like the crowds in Pakistan will be happier to see Esra Bilgic more than Ertugrul.

Reportedly, Esra Bilgic will be featured on the cover of HELLO! Pakistan, this June 2020, announced the magazine, “Esra Bilgiç wins hearts and minds on the cover of HELLO! Pakistan this June 2020. Pandemic or Business? Schools Are Now Selling Their Own Masks

Students attending school with masks

Schools in Pakistan just got exposed for making “their own” masks. Supposedly, these masks will become a part of the uniform and will be charged to students. Was this necessary? Not. So, why did they end up doing it? Read more to find out.

Masks Printed With School Logos

Usually, if schools were open right now, masks would be a hefty expense for parents. Most masks are not recommended for repeated use; hence, a new one for five days a week. On average, an N-95 currently costs anywhere from Rs.400-600. Their alternatives, the regular polyester ones, vary from Rs.100-300 for a box.

The question would be, what are schools going to charge for a mask? This step would be inconsiderate towards those who are not financially stable or have more than one child.

The State of The Education System

Moreover, currently, with all institutions being exposed to harassment incidents within their walls, why are schools focusing on this? LUMS, LGS 1A1, NCA, Aitchison are some of the institutions that were enabling harassers and sexual abusers. The state of education is quite apparent where instead of making schools safer, they’d rather earn through printed masks.

Is This Normal To Do?

Instances of cashing in on a pandemic are rampant. Initially, as the need for masks arose, masks’ prices shot even upwards of Rs.1000. Those who had their hands on it saw this as an opportunity to earn money.

Admittedly, the general rule of Economics of short supply leading to higher prices must be let go during a pandemic. As soon a medicine is talked about, it goes quickly in the markets because people hoard them. Groceries became unusually expensive overnight as people started stockpiling.

While schools here are not doing anything unusual, they deserve to be called out for being a part of this. Some are using this moment to crack some jokes.

Were Schools Affected by Coronavirus?

Schools are one of those very few institutions not heavily hit by coronavirus. Students all over the world are still studying; fees are even being paid. However, while the usual fee amount is being charged, the typical cost is not being incurred. Campuses are closed and working at 10%-20% capacity. Expenses like electricity, food, etc. are not being incurred; thus, they’re potentially making higher profits.

Schools empty ever since Coronavirus began

Despite not being hit as hard as other businesses, schools are trying to earn more. This, beyond anything, reflects how educational institutes operate as businesses. Students are a source of profit, teachers a liability, and all decisions must be taken in consideration of profit/loss.

How Coronavirus is Making a Positive Impact on the Environment

Just before the coronavirus outbreak, a great debate on social media was emerging regarding the ice melting in the arctic.

Apparently, the ice reflects sunlight whereas the water absorbs it which results in warming up the ocean around the ice and hence the earth.

So Why is the Ice Melting in the Artic?

The meltdown of the ice in artic is a clear reflection of human activities exploiting the earth.

Activities that cause air and water pollution cause global warming, which is causing the ice in the arctic to melt which then speeds up the climate change aggressively.

Has the Coronavirus Limited Human Activity?

Yes, European countries and others have restricted travel as 246,777 have been affected by the virus while 10,063 have died across the globe as of today (20th March).

Since humans across the globe are restricted to move freely and many self-quarantining themselves, it is surprisingly making a positive impact on the environment.
