The renowned smartphone brand, TECNO recently started the #TECNOPhotoWalk that has been covering major cities in Pakistan. After the success of the first destination, Islamabad, TECNO has now reached the city of lights, Karachi. The brand has given a tough competition to its competitors by doing such a successful Photowalk in both cities. The walk received huge engagement and overwhelming response by fans.

TECNO graced the most populous city and the capital of the Sindh province Karachi. Well known as the city of lights due to its late nightlife, open shops, and outdoor activities like eating, sea view trips, etc. TECNO took the fans through the bewilderments of the landscape, covering Frere Hall and Hawks Bay, captured by the lens of the ultimate camera solution, Camon 16.

The first destination for the Photowalk, Frere Hall dates back to the early British colonial-era. It is a beautiful landscape originally intended to serve as Karachi’s town hall but now serves as an exhibition space and a library. The second destination was the breathtaking Hawke’s Bay, the beach that dates back to the early 1900s. The beach is very popular, with hundreds of people visiting daily for swimming, camel and horse riding, and vacation trips. Both places are hot tourist spots in the city of lights. After the tiring event, TECNO took all partakers for a lunch feast at the famous Café Strada. They were also given gifts from the brand as a token of gratitude.

The Photowalk were all given TECNO Camon 16 phones to capture the photos for the event. The winners with the best-captured images will be rewarded with the winning prize and will be announced at the end of the campaign. The announcement will be done on TECNO’s social media platform after all destinations are covered. The fun doesn’t end here, TECNO’s next destination will be the heart of the country, the city of gardens, Lahore.

The problem with these statements is that they are extremely vague and misinformed!

What exactly should sons be educated on? Sarah Khan is yet to comment on that because Aurat March symbolizes many other things besides gender-based violence and oppression. Aurat march is a show of solidarity against gender roles, against oppression, against the glass ceiling, which Sarah Khan herself may be a victim of.

Now, if you were looking at local universities, the requirements would be different. But if you were looking to go abroad, almost always the international universities want to see your IELTS result. And the cost for IELTS just keeps on increasing and increasing on top of the fact that the result expires every two years.

So isn’t it better to apply somewhere that does not require you to submit IELTS? Here is a list of 8 universities that do not have it as their requirement.

1. Asian Institute of Technology Thailand University

This university in Thailand does not require IELTS and offers a fully-funded scholarship for the academic year starting 2021. So if you are aiming for Masters or Ph.D. programs, you may want to give it a try.

2. National University of Qatar

The National University of Qatar has opened its programs for Fall 2021, and both Qataris and international students are eligible to apply. More importantly, this is not just for Masters and Ph.D. Degree programs but also for Non Degree programs.

3. East China Normal University

If you have just completed your intermediate and want to go abroad for your bachelor’s, East China Normal University would be a great option. Again, there is the possibility of a fully-funded scholarship, and bachelors, masters, and Ph.D. aspirants, all are welcome.

4. Nanjing University China

Another university in China is also giving the opportunity without asking for IELTS, and it is called Nanjing University. For the academic year starting 2021, Nanjiang is also a valid option.

5. University of Brunei Darussalam

The University of Brunei Darussalam (UBD) Scholarship allows Brunei and international candidates to study whether full-time or part-time in their Bachelors, Masters or Ph.D. Degree Programs.

6. Doha Institute For Graduate Studies

Apply for the Doha Institute For Graduate Studies Scholarship 2021 where you can Study Masters without IELTS.

7. National Chiao Taiwan University

NCTU Scholarship for National Chiao Taiwan University is for Bachelors, Masters, and Ph.D. Degree Programs.

8. Hammad Bin Khalifa University

Hammad Bin Khalifa University Scholarship in Qatar does not require IELTS but to prove your English proficiency; you can get your university to make a certificate for you.

Other than these options, you can also apply for Azerbaijan. As part of their scholarship program called Azerbaijan Government Scholarship 2021 initiated by the country’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs. The highlight is that candidates wanting to study General medicine or looking for the residency program can also apply.

Karachi Youth Cleans Up The Outskirts of Mazar e Quaid

Of the markers of Karachi, the Mazar e Quaid takes the lead. Spread over 33,000 square feet, it was inaugurated in 1971. Tourists, domestic or foreign, make it a point to include it in their trips. While Karachiites may not find enough time to visit the mausoleum, the Mazaar serves as the city center that they have to cross during their everyday routine. Therefore, we are no strangers to the dirty walls and footpaths surrounding the Mazar.

Thanks to some Karachi residents, this is not the situation anymore. The Karachi resident Zohaib Ahmed Khan who moved from Peshawer, took on the task to improve Karachi’s outlook. Doing that did not just mean cleaning up Karachi, but also making it pretty so that when Karachiites look at it, they feel refreshed, and when outsiders look at it, they fall in love with the city. He named his project Rang De Karachi.

By now, they have tackled People’s Chowrangi, Numaish, and Shahrah e Quaideen. So this time, they decided to clear out Quaid e Azam’s mausoleum. More than 1000 people in this organization, they cleaned up the outskirts of it and have chosen street art as the medium to make it pretty.

This is because citrus fruits, such as oranges and lemons, are highly acidic and can erode the teeth enamel.

Moreover, if you have mouth sores, avoid acidic foods and beverages because they can worsen your symptoms.

4. Other Health Issues

Since orange juice is also rich in fructose and is acidic, excessive consumption can be harmful to the body in multiple ways. Excess fiber consumption can lead to digestive problems causing abdominal cramps and diarrhea. Drinking OJ daily can also result in heartburns because of its acidic nature.

Finally, when we do see the fruits of our labour and watch the development go successful, it really cheers up the heart. Today, we have news of development that is sure to leave you hoping for more. You must have heard of NED university? It is one of Pakistan’s leading ones in engineering. In recent news, they have built a low-cost model house on their campus premises!

NED And A History:

There was a time when NED used to be one of the only few engineering universities in Pakistan. Back then, its admission procedure was a lot simpler too, where you were given a selection of disciplines and then you studied it for four years. While it has become quite difficult to get admission other than on the basis of merit, the university holds its reputation.

The Mechanical, Electrical and Civil engineering departments of NED are some of the best-known ones in the country. Science minister, Fawad Chaudhry, has commended the efforts of NED on this ongoing development. This not only increases opportunities for people to own their own houses but also live with peace and comfort. It is the first model house made by any university in Pakistan, which uses a light steel gauge in construction! This not only helps the common people but NED itself too!

The Moon Aligning Directly Over Kaaba:

On Friday, the full moon aligned directly over the Kaaba which has been a rare occurrence. Muslims all around the world pray while facing towards the Kaaba and this event allowed them to determine the accuracy of the direction of the Holy Mosque so that they pray the right way.

The event was witnessed by those in the vicinity of the grand mosque who was the moon directly above the Kaaba on the first hour of Friday.

“This will be followed by the moon’s alignment with the Kaaba at 12:43:35 a.m. KSA time, or 09:43:34 GMT, at an altitude of 89.57.46 degrees,” Majed Abu Zahira, president of the Jeddah Astronomy Association, announced the event for public awareness.

“The moon’s disc will be fully illuminated at 99.9 percent at a distance of 381.125 kilometers from Earth. It will then remain visible for the rest of the night until it sets with the rise of the sun on Friday,” he further added to his statement posted on Instagram.

The Kaaba, also referred to as the Khaana-e-Kaaba is believed to have been built by Prophet Abraham (A.S), referred to as Ibrahim in the Arabic and Urdu texts and his son Ismaeel (A.S). The place holds a dear place in the heart of Muslims and is the direction which is where everyone prays five times a day, every day.

As per the Middle East Monitor, the full moon appears directly over the Kaaba once a year and is an opportunity for Muslims to check the accuracy of their devices or apps they use to find the accurate direction of the Kaaba.

Saudi Quran TV streamed the event live where the full moon could be seen by everyone all around the world.

Social Distancing And How The Pandemic Impacted Pilgrimage:

The coronavirus caused the government and scholars to reach a mutual consensus and set protocols for the safety of pilgrims which caused only a limited number of people to be allowed to do the pilgrimage.

The Holy Mosque only has a limited number of visitors these days who observe strict protocols that prevent the spread of the coronavirus. Many aspiring pilgrims and the Muslim community has been praying for things to go back to normal so that the Hajj and Umrah could resume.

Sushmita Sen and Wasim Akram met on the sets of a reality show the two were judging. Rumours regarding a possible relationship started circulating; however, later there was news of them parting ways.

In a chat with DNA, Sushmita had said, “I am extremely fond of Wasim. But if I start having an affair with every man I am friends with… Being in a relationship is a big deal and the day I am in one, I will surely tell everyone. I won’t keep people guessing.”

In an interview with PTI, Wasim had said, “I am really fed up with these rumours and speculations made in the media. 1. Avoid Overcharge

Many of the times, phones heat up due to the charger being plugged in too long. After 100%, older model phones continue to draw current from it. It is better to charge your phone till 80% or 85% rather than draw it out to 99%

2. Don’t Keep In Direct Sunlight

If you’re in a location where sunlight is ample and heavy, make sure your phone is in a cooler place. Placing smartphones where sunlight directly shines on them causes them to overheat.

3. Close Unused Applications

If your phone does not have at least 4GB ram, it means that too many processes can overheat the phone. Even with 4GB ram, you cannot have many recent games running in the background.

4. Lower Brightness

No one needs to use the smartphone on maximum brightness 24/7. When you’re indoors, lower your brightness. This is another one of those times where auto-brightness is quite useful.

Delete applications which are not of use to you on a day to day basis. It does not do well for a phone to have unnecessary installations and apps. Sometimes, some may run in the background without your knowledge, causing the phone to heat.

7. Gaming With Breaks

If you’re an avid mobile gamer, it is recommended to not game for a lot of consecutive hours. If you’re playing PUBG, let the phone rest after 4-5 games.

8. Remove Phone Case

If your phone cover is too tight or too closely packed, it can even prevent heat from escaping. Removing the phone case at times can cause the phone to cool down.

9. Charging Cable

Sometimes, the battery is not full, and the phone still heats on charging. If the phone overheats while charging, there may be an issue with the charging cable. Try replacing it to see if it really is not very accurate.

10. Airplane Mode

Sometimes, a phone should be on airplane mode when not in use. If you’re at the beach and the phone is lying outdoors, too, turn the airplane mode on. It’ll make up for the high brightness needed outdoors as well as sunlight.

5. Gulshan e Iqbal

This particular stall started two years ago. It is called BurgerSaaz, and it is located opposite Broadway in Gulshan e Iqbal. I call it a stall because they have other products as well. However, their crunchy chicken burger is genuinely the best.

Pakistan Opens Up Series In A Style With Debutant Nauman & Fawad

Pakistan hosted the South African Test team after a gap of 14 years, and the way Pakistan team played and won against the fifth-ranked team was a treat to watch.

The team not only played well but made several individual records from some of the old players reliving and some making their debut memorable.

The men in green defeated the Proteas by seven wickets with the help of a ton by the man of the match Fawad Alam and a five-wicket-haul by the debutant Nauman Ali.

The visitors won the toss and chose to bat first, but the Pakistani bowling attack of didn’t let them bat for long and bowled them out for 220 runs on an opening day with the help of Yasir Shah taking three, Nauman Ali and Shaheen Shah taking two each, and Hasan Ali took one.

The opening day not only saw the fall of 10 South African wickets but Pakistan also lost four wickets on 33. However, the innings were saved by two strong partnerships steered by the 35-year-old Fawad. He stood on the crease with Azhar Ali (51) to add 94 runs to the team total and further added 102 runs with Faheem Ashraf (64), to end the innings with the 158-runs lead.

Fawad scored his second ton since his comeback in the team, he scored first in the second inning of the first test against New Zealand and now scored another ton scoring 109 runs off 245 balls against South Africa’s first inning.

South Africa came into bat and lost their first wicket with a review on 48 runs. The next batsman Rassie van der Dussen (64) stood on the crease with Aiden Markram (74) to build a 127-runs partnership, which broke when Yasir Shah took his second wicket-taking Dussen down.

After that, the wickets kept falling, and South Africa came from 175-2 down to 245 all out, courtesy Nauman Ali’s five-wicket-haul (5-35). Yasir Shah’s 4-79, and Hasan Ali’s one wicket.

Chasing the target of 88 runs, Pakistan, without wasting any time completed in 22.5 overs with seven wickets remaining. Unbeaten Azhar Ali scored 31 runs, and Babar Azam (30) while the winning shot was played by the player of the match Fawad.

Before Pakistan team move to Rawalpindi for the second test to be held from February 4 to February 8, let’s go through the key moments of first test.

Nauman Ali becoming 12th Pakistani to take 5-for at debut

The 34-year-old Nauman is the fourth oldest Pakistani debutant in Test. He played 80 first-class matches and took 292 wickets for Northern team before he was given a chance in the National team. His best bowling figures in an innings are 8-71.

He was the second-highest wicket-taker of the Quaid-e-Azam Trophy 2020/21 season with his 61 wickets in 10 matches and had the best bowling figures of 7-35 and 7-84 both against Central Punjab.

On his debut, he was able to take two wickets in the first innings and five wickets in the second to become the 12th Pakistani player to take five-wicket-haul on debut match.

Fawad’s century saving the match

After waiting for years, the 35-year-old player Fawad got chance in the National team proved that he could be a reliable middle-order batsman. Before his entry in the team, the middle-order had the likes of Younis Khan and Muhammad Yousuf. Former selectors much-criticized his entry in the team, but he proved everyone wrong with his century.
