Tickets

Pakistan Super League (PSL) is finally refunding fans their tickets after a delay of almost four months for ten matches that were abandoned due to several reasons. While few matches took place later without the audience, semi-final and final were canceled due to the ongoing pandemic.

The announcement was made on Instagram by Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) on Saturday. The refund begins on Jul 13 (Today) and ends on Aug 29.

The Refund Will Be Carried Out in Two Phases:

“The refund will be carried out in two phases. During the first phase, which runs from Jul 13 to Aug 5, the tickets of the five group matches — held behind closed doors — along with the Feb 29 washed-out contest in Rawalpindi will be returned,” said a PR issued by the board.

“The second phase will run from Aug 6-29, during which the tickets of the Qualifier, two Eliminators, and the final will be repaid.”

The next six weeks is the only way fans can get their tickets refunded; after that, the tickets will be useless. It is best to get them refunded as soon as possible.

The refund process will take place at designated TCS Express Centres from Monday – Saturday (6 days a week) from 10 am to 4 pm.

“The six-week refund process is the only opportunity for all customers to receive their refunds. The tickets will be processed daily from Monday to Saturday from 10 am to 4 pm from the designated TCS Express Centres in Abbottabad, Bahawalpur, Bhakkar, Burewala, Chakwal, DG Khan, Faisalabad, Gujranwala, Hyderabad, Islamabad, Jhang, Karachi, Khanewal, Lahore, Layyah, Lodhran, Mian Channu, Multan, Peshawar, Quetta, Rahim Yar Khan, Raiwind, Rawalpindi, Sahiwal, Sargodha, Sialkot, Sukkur, and Vehari,” says the PR.

Pakistan Super league’s (PSL) project executive hopes that fans will understand the current situation:

“It has taken some time for us to initiate the ticket refund process, but I hope fans will understand that we had to cover all our bases due to the ongoing Covid-19 situation in the country. I request all ticket holders to ensure that they follow the government SOPs and maintain social distancing.”

People getting their tickets refunded have been requested to take all precautionary measures and follow the government’s SOPs.

5 Rumours About Google’s 2020 Pixel Phones You Must Check Out

Google

Google’s 2020 Pixel lineup is yet to launch, but the rumors have already been appearing on popular tech websites on the internet. The insights have offered users hints as to what they can expect from this upcoming lineup.

XDA developers claimed previously that Google’s newest venture comprised of two phones that were discovered under the codenames of “bramble” and “redfin.” Both the devices were said to have built-in 5G and will also feature the Snapdragon 765G processor. A third device was also later rumored with codename “sunfish,” featuring Snapdragon 730.

In this article, we have listed down five major rumors that have surfaced on the internet for the past few months.

1- Breaking the Monotony

The strangest rumor we’ve heard this time around is that Google is not working on Pixel 5 and Pixel 5 XL, instead, it is working on Pixel 4a (5G) and a Pixel 5. This rumor first appeared on 9to5Google.com. It looks like Google is planning to break the monotony as previously it came out with Pixel 4 and Pixel 4 XL.

2 – Battery Capacity

An upgrade in battery capacity is suspected in the upcoming phone line. Phones from the previous versions: The Pixel 4 had a 2800mAh battery while the Pixel 4 XL had a 3700mAh battery. A rumor suggested that Pixel 5 might as well support reversible wireless charging, enabling it to charge other compatible devices for wireless charging, but nothing has been verified yet.

3 – Changes in the Hardware

Although the previous Pixel phones were positioned as Google’s flagship phones, there are signs that Google might as well be looking into changing their direction. The company may be planning to switch the Pixel 5 to Qualcomm Snapdragon 765 G hardware after witnessing the performance of its previous phone, the Pixel 3a. It is notable to mention that the device of the upcoming phones will comprise a built-in 5G and will be reasonably priced.

4 – Release date

It is hard to determine an exact launch date for the Pixel 4a. Previously, Google launched its new line of phones in May. Many speculated that Google might reveal it on June 3, which was the same date the company promised to release Android 11. However, things didn’t happen as planned due to the pandemic. The company later canceled the event, and no Pixel related announcements were made. New rumors have emerged suspecting the phone might launch in October now.

5 – Soli Radar Technology

It has been rumored that Google Pixel’s upcoming phone line will not feature the Soli radar technology. This step could mean that the company is consciously positioning the Pixel 5 to be a little more competitive in the area of design.

Soli radar technology is a powerful chip that came along with Google’s previous phones. It is a radar that significantly understands human motion, from your finger to any movement of your body part, the technology can detect motion seamlessly for better interaction.

PUBG

After China, Iraq, and Nepal, PUBG got banned in Pakistan as well. PTA banned the game, earlier this month. Although many people have challenged PTA’s decision in court, there has been no progression. However, many people are still playing the game throughout the country.

How can I play PUBG when PTA banned it in Pakistan?

People, living in countries where PUBG is banned, are laying the game with the help of a VPN. Virtual Private Network (VPN) changes your I.P. address so that hackers, internet providers, and web servers cannot see your location.

What are the best free VPNs to play PUBG?

Here are the five best free VPNs you can use to play PUBG.

5. Cyber Ghost

Cyber Ghost is another excellent option for gaming. You can use up to 7 devices. Cyber Ghost has around 3,600+ servers in more than 60 countries. However, it only offers a 45-day free trial. It works with Android, iOS, and Windows.

4. ExpressVPN

Express VPN gives the user control over the customization settings. It lets users choose from 3000+ servers in 94 countries. However, it has a 30-day money-back guarantee. It is not only compatible with gaming apps like PUBG, but it also lets you stream Netflix. Furthermore, it is compatible with iOS, Android, and Windows.

3. Windscribe

Windscribe provides you 10 GB data monthly. This converts to only around 33 hours of data high games. You can win 5 GB more by tweeting to the company. A free user can get access to servers from 6 countries only. During peak times, Windscribe can get slow.

2. Hotspot Shield Free VPN

PUBG

Hotspot Shield is a great VPN to play PUBG. You don’t have to sign in or enter payment details for it. It is fast and doesn’t lag. It is compatible with Android, iOS, and Windows. Additionally, it is straightforward to use. It has a one-click connect.

The downside to it is that Hotspot Shield does not offer more than 500MB per day. This means you can only play the game for an hour and a half.

1. Proton VPN

Proton VPN gives you free unlimited data. It lets you connect to 3 servers from the United States, Japan, and the Netherlands. It is compatible with Android, iOS, and Windows. In my opinion, this is a great option to play PUBG with.

However, it doesn’t offer as many server options as its competitors but still better than Hotspot.

What do you think about these VPNs, and which one do you use? Let us know in the comments below.

$200 Million To Be Spent On National Education Action Plan For COVID-19

national education action plan

Deputy Chairman Planning Commission Muhammad Jehanzeb Khan chaired a meeting over video conference. Federal and provincial secretaries of education participated in the meeting. The agenda was to discuss the National Education Action Plan for coronavirus.

The Deputy Chairman said that the federal government has decided to pursue blended education. Therefore, the government asked the provincial governments’ education departments for their feedback on the subject.

He further informed the provincial governments that the federal government would be contributing around $200 million US dollars for the National Education Action Plan. The provincial governments who would be willing to employ the plan will be given the money as a grant. Thus, they will not need to repay the loan.

Additionally, Deputy Charmain Khan asked the various departments of provincial governments to present a detailed response. Planning, literacy and education, and finance were among those departments. In the meeting, the Deputy Chairman also asked the members to pay due attention to the situation caused by COVID-19.

What is a blended education?

national education action plan

Blended education or learning is an approach to teaching where both, face to face and online classes experience, are combined. This creates a unique and innovative learning experience for the students.

Today, we realize the importance of this kind of education structure well in the pandemic-hit world. This way, students who live away from their educational institutes can learn and continue their education as well. Blended learning gives the students some control over certain elements such as time and place.

Undeniably, the classroom-based learning experience has more relevance and is more effective as the instructor has control over many factors, including discipline. However, online learning has many benefits, as well. Additionally, it has become a necessity because of COVID-19. Online learning provides more mobility and has a lower cost than the classroom-based one.

Is it useful in the context of Pakistan?

national education action plan

In the context of Pakistani, it will be quite challenging to implement blended learning throughout the country. The federal and provincial governments will have to take serious measures.

In Pakistan, many households do not have access to the internet. Many students who study in educational institutes of big cities belong to the remote areas of the country. If the government wants to implement blended learning, it will have to ensure to provide internet access to students living in far off regions of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Balochistan, and the North. One should not forget that there are many places in these areas where the internet is banned due to security concerns.

In addition to this, many households in Pakistan cannot afford the internet. Because the pandemic has made the circumstances worse for them, some wouldn’t even consider buying an internet device then paying, what is a significant amount for them, on a weekly or monthly basis.

What do you think about the government’s this initiative, and will it be implemented successfully? Let us know in the comments below.

5 Things To Avoid Doing During A Zoom Meeting

A zoom meeting being conducted

A zoom meeting is the new normal. Ever since lockdowns began and self-imposed quarantine became a thing, schools, offices, family get-togethers all shifted online. As a result, overnight the video communication platform, Zoom gained popularity. Even though we’re all adjusting, you’re likely making a few common and embarrassing mistakes. Keep reading to know what to NOT do on your next zoom call!

Zoom meeting layout

1. Your Background Is Distracting

Having a distracting background is a big no! Most people sit in front of a beautiful painting, thinking it’ll look great. Or, they sit in a crowded room where people are always passing back and forth in the background. These are mistakes that you should not be making. Being online is distracting enough on its own; don’t add another distraction.

Your background should be plain and reasonable while the room you sit in must be quiet and empty.

2. You’re Not Muting Yourself

The other people in the call don’t need to hear you coughing, sneezing (yikes!), yawning, or your phone ringing. When you’re not speaking on the call, mute yourself. Muting your microphone has several benefits that will improve your image. For one, it will enhance the quality of the request as the other person speaking will sound more transparent. Secondly, it’s more professional this way!

3. You’re Not Looking Tidy

Just as you would not usually leave your house looking unkempt, don’t attend meetings like that. We hear you; no one randomly dresses up in quarantine, but making a 5-minute effort can be great for you. As the memes suggest, simply change your shirt only, fix your hair, and look lively. Looking unkempt or tired can give the impression that you’re uninterested, which is not a good look.

4. You’re Speaking Too Much Or Out Of Turn

A zoom meeting can be tricky because you don’t have the luxury of judging body language. In-person, you can tell when someone wants to speak, or they can signal. As a result, you may either continue speaking, or you can think that you need to talk more to make your case. Neither of these is a good option.

Make sure to use the ‘Raise Hand’ feature in Zoom so the leader can effectively select who should speak. Other than that, speaking concisely on a video call is more important than in person. No one has extra time, they’re already distracted, and even wifi can be disrupted. Stick to the point and don’t beat around the bush.

5. Your Attention Is Divided

Zoom meetings require your undivided attention. Why? Because whoever is speaking to you must know that they’re not wasting their energy and time. If you’re casually eating, drinking, or smoking or checking your phone, then it gives off a wrong impression. Unlike in-person meetings, in a zoom window, you can see everyone at once. And since only your face is in view, whenever you’re doing any of these things, it has a more significant impact. Be mindful!

Have you been making these mistakes? Let us know in the comments below!

Apple To Launch Its First-Ever Silicon Macbooks Soon!

macbook

It was only last month at WWDC that Apple promised its consumers that the company would be making its processors for its Mac. Now, Apple would be releasing the first Macbook model with its processors by the end of this year. Apple Macbooks used Intel x86 chips before.

At the WWDC last month, Senior Vice President of Hardware Technologies at Apple called this transition a considerable leap forward. The Apple-designed chip will have higher performance and lower power consumption. Additionally, it will also improve the visual performance of Macbooks.

Apple to release 13.3 inches Macbook Pro with Apple-designed processor this year.

An Apple analyst Ming-Chi Kuo has claimed that the first Macbook to get an Apple-designed chip is going to be a 13.3 inches Macbook Pro. This Macbook was, previously, updated in May with faster processors and a new scissor keyboard. According to the analyst, Apple’s new 13.3 inches Macbook Pro will go into mass production in the last quarter of this year.

Apple will be releasing a MacBook Air either in the same quarter or at the beginning of the next year.

The long-rumored Apple 14 inches Macbook Pro will be out next year!

macbook

According to Kuo, Apple will work on the long-awaited 14 inches and 16 inches Macbook Pro after the first two models. Both of these models will feature a new hardware design. Apple will release its 14 and 16 inches Macbook Pro in the second or third quarter of next year. Sixteen inches Macbook Pro released in 2019.

It had many new features, including a larger screen and a more modern keyboard. It is quite surprising that Apple will be redesigning it again. However, we may see Macbook redesigns as often as the iPhone at least. It is because now Apple will have full control over the production, and its cost will be reduced.

Will Apple cling to its Intel-based processors for iMac?

Before, there were rumors that Apple will launch its iMac with an Apple-designed chip. Now it seems like Apple will still be starting the redesigned iMac but just not with the Apple-designed chip. Now that Apple has even teased that it will be releasing the redesigned iMac soon, it disproves the rumors completely. It looks like Apple will be launching its iMac with silicon chip at the end of next year or, perhaps, in 2022.

What do you think about Apple’s own designed processors, and which product are you excited for? Let us know in the comments below.

Fulbright 2021 Replaces GRE With GPA For Pakistani Students

fullbright

Fulbright is a degree program that gives scholarships to students for their MBA and Ph.D. programs. Students who get into the Fulbright program study in the United States. The program covers all the expenses such as tuition, textbooks’ cost, living cost, and health insurance. United States Agency funds the program for International Development (USAID).

Since 2005, more Pakistani students have enrolled in the program than any other country. In 2016, Fulbright awarded scholarships to 181 Pakistani students. Out of which 82 were men, and 99 were women. Those students belonged to every province in Pakistan, including Balochistan, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, and Gilgit. Fulbright will give scholarships to around 150 students this year.

What is GRE?

The Graduate Record Examinations (GRE) is a standardized test. It is a requirement for many graduate programs, especially in the US and Canada. GRE has sections such as verbal score, quant score, and analytical writing. However, the test fee is expensive. A test taker has to pay around $205.

Fulbright removes GRE score requirement

fullbright

United States Educational Foundation in Pakistan has announced that it will not consider GRE scores. This decision was published on July 1st this year. At the same time, students had been preparing for the exam for a year almost.

Since Fulbright will not consider GRE scores, GPA will be given priority. For fields like STEM, public policy, business, energy, and finance, the minimum GPA requirement is 3.5. According to a USEFP, they had considered home-based online tests before making this decision, but a stable internet connection is a huge problem in Pakistan. Additionally, many students wouldn’t have been able to afford it. Traditional GRE was not possible because of social distancing.

Could USEFP have taken a better and fairer decision?

On the one hand, it is an excellent decision for students for whom GRE was expensive. Now, they will not have to worry about its affordability. It will also let students, who couldn’t apply previously due to the hefty fee, apply.

On the other hand, students who do not have a decent GPA would lose this opportunity. Students who were going to take the test this year had already been preparing. This last moment’s decision is unfair to them. Fullbright should have been more considerate about those as well. This is a massive setback for those students.

USEFP could have taken a better decision that would not have been unfair to students. The right choice would not be expensive or weigh students’ futures in a single measurement, i.e., GPA.

What do you think of this decision taken by USEFP? Let us know in the comment section below.

Bold Photo Shoot Of Model In Saudi Arabia Goes Viral

Monot shoot

Saudi Arabia has often come under fire for its conservative laws and policing of women’s clothing. Even foreigners are “encouraged” to wear an abaya there regardless of their faith. Yet, despite such restrictions and attitudes, a daring and bold shoot has surfaced. Kate Moss, the iconic supermodel modeled for MÔNOT and you need to see it!

Moss’ Slit Ready To Rock Saudi Arabia

Kate Moss, 46 and mother of one, was one of the models selected by the brand for their latest collection. She’s clad in a plain black, floor-length dress with a slit that goes up till her waist. The daringly high slit accentuates her toned legs. Moss’ tousled beach waves compliment the desert aesthetic entirely. However, what’s tying the look together is the cigarette in her mouth.

The iconic model standing tall with that bold slit while smoking a cigarette is making the rounds on social media. Reports also confirmed that Moss came at the set before anyone and left after everyone. She’s shedding the party girl look and reforming.

MÔNOT Had Several Other Stars

The desert of Al Ula makes for the perfect sultry backdrop with the best of models giving their all. Alek Wek poses in a turtleneck and also another thigh-high slit besides a rock.

The 24-hours campaign took place in January in AlUla, the world’s largest open-air museum, and a UNESCO World Heritage Site. The designer got the opportunity to visit and was instantly drawn to the location for the new collection. It consists of carved rock structures similar to Jordan’s Petra.

Did Saudi Arabia Allow It?

Reports are that Saudi Arabia allowed the shoot to happen. The shoot is the first of its controversial kind in the province of Madina. Many Muslims and citizens of Saudi Arabia are causing a dispute over the shoot. It’s being considered as immoral and controversial and against Islamic values. The government is also receiving a lot of backlash for having allowed the shoot in the first place.

Is Saudi Arabia trying to modernize itself or becoming more liberal? If so, will it garner support or backlash? This can be a part of the new changes Saudi Arabia is making for its vision for 2030. There will be a reduction in the authority of the religious police. The restrictions on gender mixing will be lifted. In addition to this, the requirement for women to wear the abaya or loose gown will be eradicated.

source: boredpanda.com

Most of us have no idea that the objects around us are involved. Even the simplest of things that we use every day are engaged in their core. This complexity can be unveiled under a microscope.

Today, we can appreciate life and the world around us as it had never been before. It is only possible because of the advent of science and how it enables us to observe and examine the world. It is because of this evolution that we know about the smallest of details in the objects we use in our everyday lives.

When putting them under a microscope, objects turn out to be different from what we know them as. The purposes we use, eat and see every day seem to be mysterious and unrecognizable under the lens of a microscope.

In our daily lives, we tend to forget that the world we live in is made up of the tiniest of organisms and that each and everything around us is hugely complex and amazing. Moreover, how unbelievably these smallest organisms form to create everything for us, from fruits and vegetables, we eat to things like wood that we use.

It is only through science that we can witness such amazing things. With the advent of science, human lives have changed forever. Human beings have always been curious; scientific knowledge has answered personal queries. However, this has only increased the human being’s thirst for knowledge and their appetite to know more.

Here are some mind-blowing things captured through a microscope:

In these times of turmoil, we should try to know and understand the world more. It will make us grateful for our lives and the world.

Science has transformed our lives and our society for the better. Most of the time, we don’t even realize in what ways and how often we are affected by science. It is because science has made itself an integral part of our lives. Science has evolved rapidly with the Industrial Revolution of the 19th century, and since then, it hasn’t slowed down.

Nadub’s mother says that he always took a keen interest in mathematics. Every time when he would get homework, he would want to do the math homework first.

Since three years, he has been practising on the multiplication and division app – Time Table Rockstar to achieve the speed in which he can solve these questions. He has been proficient with numbers since the very beginning and maybe this is his true calling! His teachers and family have been encouraging with his goal to achieve this title.

Asim Azhar Speaks Up Against The Allegations Of Copying The Song

Asim Azhar at an award show

Asim Azhar has churned out many hits over the years. His song “Jo Tu Na Mila’ hit 100 million views on Youtube, which is a club all singers dream of joining. From Pakistan, he’s the youngest singer to achieve this victory.

Besides him, it’s Rahat Fateh Ali Khan, Momina Mustehsan, and Atif Aslam, who have a seat in that club. However, now the same song is receiving backlash, and the star is addressing the allegations.

Jo Tu Na Mila (JTNM) Is Plagiarised

A Facebook user pointed the similarity out a few days ago, and it blew up. It turns out the soundtrack of JTNM is precisely the same as Studio Ghibli’s Kiki Delivery Service. The melody is strikingly, precisely the same as the Japanese films. A Town With An Ocean View’s tune (by Joe Hisaishi) can be heard throughout the track.

How Did Asim Azhar clarify it?

Asim Azhar’s defense was quite diplomatic. The singer immediately used the sound card and said that the melody had been acquired through legal means. He said that “that part of the song” has been sampled through proper, lawful means by the producing company. The company that produced Azhar’s song was Universal Music India, and according to Azhar, “such a big company” would not let “such a big release go ahead like that.”

What Netizens Had To Say

Asim Azhar soon became the butt of many jokes on Twitter. As is evident by now, Twitter does not spare anyone. When netizens come after someone, they make it rain. Such was the case for Azhar after the story of plagiarism spread everywhere. See for yourself what they had to say!

Asim Azhar’s Gratitude

When JTNM came out, Asim Azhar’s gratitude knew no bounds. He was humble, grateful, and loving to all his fans. “100 million views #JoTuNaMila! And it gives me immense honor to become the youngest and 4th Pakistani artist (after Rahat Fateh Ali Khan Saab, Atif Aslam, and Momina Mustehsan) to have two or more songs in the 100 million clubs. Thank you, I love you guys,” is what he tweeted!

Later, on Instagram, one of his pictures had a caption, “Still can’t process it, running out of words. To some people in some part of the world, this might be a regular achievement – but to come from this part of the world, facing obstacles, facing the YouTube ban, it was very hard.”

The point remains if Azhar had acquired the track through legal means, why not credit it when the song was released? It seems he reveled in the glory as long as he was not called out.

Karachi University To Not Charge Late Fees From Students

Karachi University decided that it will not charge late fees from students who would not be able to pay their fees by the deadline. According to the details, the Karachi University management took this decision because of the global pandemic, coronavirus. Coronavirus has changed the economic situation of many households.

This initiative will help around 35,000 students who are currently enrolled in the university’s morning and evening shifts. The university has not only waived off complete late fees for the Spring 2020 semester but is also waiving off around 50% late fees of previous semesters. Furthermore, the university has also extended the fee submission deadline until 20th July 2020.

The university issued instructions regarding payment of fees on its website. Karachi University has further said that students can pay their fees through various payment methods. Students can pay the fee by either visiting HBL or by visiting any Sindh Bank branch. Additionally, students can also pay their fee through HBL internet banking, HBL mobile app, Konect App, Konnect Agent, and Sindh Bank SMS service. This decision will facilitate the students of Karachi University who live in other parts of the country.

The coronavirus affected the world.

The global pandemic has affected the vast majority of the population. Many companies forced people to resign, laid them off, or reduced their pay. Because of this, the economic circumstances of people changed. In this time, reigned by fear and stress, people should not have to worry about their financial matters. However, that’s not the case almost everywhere in the world sadly.

Giving these circumstances, this step by Karachi University is exemplary; however, the university should have done more. Nevertheless, doing something is better than doing nothing at all. It will help the students and remove some of their worries.

Stubbornness of institutes

karachi university

On the one hand, many Pakistani educational institutes have either raised fees or refused to accommodate students in any way. It is sad to see institutes being so inconsiderate about their students’ mental health. On the other hand, educational institutes like Karachi University, Punjab University, and LUMS are trying to facilitate students.

Many more steps to be taken

Other Universities should also show flexibility, and they should also try to help students in these troubled times. Institutes should provide free of cost counseling to students as well. This will help make students’ mental health better. In addition to this, universities should also make sure that the playing field is leveled for all students. It should be done so that the students, from remote areas, get an equal opportunity like their peers.

We only hope that now that renowned universities of the country are taking such initiatives, other educational institutions will follow their example.

What do you think about Karachi University’s decision not to charge a late fee from students? Let us know in the comments below.

3 Ways To Look After Your Car’s Cooling System

6 Effective Homeschooling Tips For Parents During Lockdown

homeschooling
source: entrepreneur.com

Homeschooling can be difficult as it is an unusual way of teaching kids. It can be difficult for you to manage at first. You should show compassion to your kids when teaching them. However, they should be able to differentiate between you as a parent and as a teacher.

Homeschooling is an excellent option for parents who think that the traditional education system is not sufficient enough. It’s better to learn to teach first. For this, you can get all those free resources on the internet or get enrolled in a program.

Here are some useful homeschooling tips for parents out there:

1. Designate a homeschooling space

Your children will not learn anything in their bed, in your TV lounge or any other place which has distractions. You should create a separate learning space for kids. While creating the designated area, make sure to pay attention to children’s choices and that the space is creative.

2. Create a schedule

homeschooling
source: forbes.com

I believe that traditional schooling emphasizes discipline way too much. Kids lose their creativity and are taught to be utterly dependent on teachers for little things. They are not allowed to do anything without asking for permission first, even if it’s going to the washroom, drinking water, or also speaking.

Homeschooling should not take away the kid’s decision-making skills, but it doesn’t mean there should be no discipline. You should create a schedule for the whole day and then stick to it.

3. Passion projects

Another great benefit of homeschooling is that your kid can explore his/her interests. Set a separate time each week for passion projects. You can help your child cook their favorite meal or get them to meditate with you.

4. Online homeschooling resources

Sometimes, parents spend a significant amount on curriculum, which takes away one of the benefits of homeschooling. Nowadays, you can easily find free online resources on the internet. Quizzes, worksheets, and learning guides are all available on many sites. Khan Academy is a popular website for education and learning.

5. No social media or mobile phones

When studying, mobile phones can be very distracting. Parents should make learning space a no mobile phone zone. Additionally, children should not have access to social media as well.

6. Connect with other parents who homeschool

Homeschooling can be extremely challenging. Sometimes, you may feel exhausted. It is better to connect with other homeschooling parents as they may be going through the same thing. You can also share your teaching methods with them and ask them theirs. You can find many groups on Facebook for homeschooling parents.

What do you think about homeschooling? Is it better than the traditional one? Let us know in the comments below.

7 Pakistani Brand Advertisements: Then & Now

Advertising has seen a dramatic change in the past few decades. With the advent of Photoshop, the internet, and mobile phones, brands have had to make major adjustments to keep up with this fast-paced, ever-changing world.

As you look at vintage advertisements, you’ll be surprised by the dramatic makeovers of these familiar companies. Looking at these print ads, it’s clear that we have left behind those ‘simpler’ times in the past.

Comparing these “then and now” advertisements has certainly left us wishing we had a time machine.

Earlier, the test drive unit was seen on the roads in Karachi. It was a 1.3L GLi model that comes without rear chrome garnish and alloy wheels. The model was released on the 27th of March this year.

Toyota Yaris is all set to compete in the market with other compact sedans.

The company is planning to discontinue previous variants that include Toyota Corolla XLI and GLI, so it can finally compete directly with compact sedans present currently in the market right now.

Let us Have a Look at the Exterior of the Toyota Yaris

Looks-wise, the exterior of the car is somewhat ‘too bubbly.’ If we compare the sharp and angular design of City in comparison to Yaris, the latter looks bloated and curvy. The wheels of this car are 15-inch alloys, which are slightly too small for this car.

A total number of four beam halogen headlights go hand in hand with fog-lights on the exterior of the car. You will also see Daytime Running Lights (DRLs) on the surface too, but it is not clear if it will come with all vehicles, as yet.

Some fancy features include side-mirror mounted indicators, LED taillights, key-less entry, and a smart trunk-lid release button.

The production of the car was halted due to the ongoing pandemic. Read the full story here:

Toyota Yaris Production Halted, Soft Launch Postponed in Pakistan!

Interior of the Toyota Yaris

The interior of the car looks better than the exterior of the vehicle. With the addition of silver pieces, the interior is bearable, unlike the signature combination of beige and black pieces.

Features you get inside the car are a six-speaker stereo, multi-info gauge cluster with a 4.2 TFT screen which comprises of information such as fuel, range, odometer reading, time, fuel average, temperature, drive-mode, and selected gear, etc., and many steering wheel control switches.

Optional features include an automatic climate control system and an advanced infotainment system with a 6-inch touchscreen.

Medical Students Share Their Struggles Of Getting An MBBS Degree

Medical students being prepared for test operations

MBBS degrees are some of the hardest degrees out there. We have always heard about medical students not having time even to breathe. However, some students have taken to Twitter to talk about how difficult MBBS is open. If you know someone pursuing it or are thinking about it yourself, keep reading!

What Is An MBBS Degree?

The MBBS (Bachelor of Medicine, Bachelor of Surgery) is a professional undergraduate degree in medicine. The focus of the curriculum is to prepare students for a career in Medicine. For an MBBS, students approach various subjects. Areas like Anatomy, Biochemistry, Physiology, Pathology, Microbiology (among others) are explored. As a result, it usually takes 4-6 years to graduate with an MBBS degree.

Struggles of MBBS Students

A study was carried out in India across 70 institutions, which revealed surprising results. Almost 45% of students wanted to drop out of their courses in the middle of the semester. The schedule and routine of medical students are extraordinarily strict. This affects the mental health of students more intensely. A large number of medical students are pursuing the field due to parental pressure as well, which makes it harder.

All these tweets are pouring in, and we can’t help but laugh! Students are voicing their struggles while making light of their academic struggles. Everyone is also coming together from various Universities to joke about the loss of hair and jawline. There are more memes about songs and personalities, and we’re sympathizing with these students.

Pakistan Especially Lags Behind

In Pakistan, the resources in medical universities are limited. Professional equipment is either scarce or out-dated. In addition to that, the information in the books has not been updated in a long time. Because of that, the curriculum that needs to be covered is additional.

Keeping all these things in mind, we must appreciate our doctors and surgeons more!
