Ghana Ali Labelled As HomeWrecker After Tying Knot With Umair Gulzar

Pakistani actress, Ghana Ali Raza announced yesterday that she got married to a guy named Umair Gulzar. Initially, people congratulated her and made some fat-shaming comments about her husband. However, soon after, a post became viral on Facebook that made a shocking claim. As it turns out, Umair was already married and has a son as well.

Second Marriage(s)

Some men do give the justification that they have the right of doing multiple marriages. But, the opposing side brings the arguments that the man should be righteous in dealing with all their wives. And if they are incapable of doing so, they should not get into multiple marriages either because that leads to a wrecked home. It seems that we have seen more wrecked homes when men do multiple marriages than happy ones.

Interestingly though, when a man does second marriage, he is not blamed for wrecking the home with his first wife, it is the second wife. Therefore, Ghana is now being blamed for being a homewrecker, just like Sadaf Kanwal and Tuba Aamir.

Ghana Ali – What will happen now?

Moreover, since Umair Gulzar is rich as well, people are accusing her of being a gold digger too.

We need to ask this question first though; did she really wreck a home? Was she aware of the first marriage? If the alleged first wife was unaware of this then, isn’t it possible Ghana was also in the dark about it? What if she is also a victim? Or what if there is no victim and it is a fake post circulating? We wouldn’t know until the parties in question respond. All we know is that Ghana should be made aware of these allegations. We want this because although it’s not confirmed, it was after Saba Qamar went public with her engagement that she got to know Azeem Khan was not compatible with her.

Booking For Haval:

Haval is actually a brand that focuses solely on SUVs. Yes, these type of vehicles have become increasingly popular in Pakistan. Despite there being so many sedans appearing, a lot of people want to buy an SUV. Quite frankly, they are good on storage space; as well as comfortable driving for long trips.

Considering how big of a city Karachi is, just driving from Defence to North Karachi can be a road trip. After Jeep and Landrover, Haval is the third most professional SUV group.

The Specs And Price:

Now, the booking has been opened for two vehicles at the current time. The first is the Haval Jolion. It is a 1500cc vehicle with 156 horsepower. Not only that, the vehicle can easily provide between 10-12 kilometres to the litre. Despite being new on the market, it has some extremely impressive specs and features. It is currently available for booking with a total price of Rs.55 Lac 25 thousand.

The second one we have is the Haval H6. This vehicle also comes packed with a 1.5-litre engine, which is also turbocharged. Additionally, it has a 7-speed DCT transmission. These specifications make it a vehicle nearly equivalent to the Jolion, but above it.

Externally, it has various kinds of lights and a sleek body. Internally, it has a whole infotainment system alongside four driving modes and auto start/stop. This vehicle is being booked right now at a total price of Rs.62 Lac 95 thousand.

Automobile Advancements:

We hope that these vehicles continue to soar high and capture the audience’s minds. They are definitely impressive SUVs with an immense amount of capability and potential. Despite there being so much competition, Haval has made it at quite a height now. Not many people may have expected them to rise as high but they have shattered all stereotypes and have established themselves well.

Who knows? Maybe we get to see more and more such vehicles by them every day now. SUVs may just be the newest best trend of today and everyone wants to be a part of this. There are so many brands that are selling them now and none of them is slowing down in terms of production.

Digital Payment Wallets – A Necessity During COVID-19

Pakistan is among the few nations in the world where cash usage has always been extremely high. While the Government and the State Bank of Pakistan have made multiple efforts to increase financial inclusion over the last decade, even today, less than 30 million of 120 million adults in the country have bank accounts.

However, the COVID-19 pandemic has been a watershed moment in driving the adoption of everything digital in Pakistan. Last year, we have witnessed a remarkable change in customer behaviour and their adoption of digital services, including digital payment wallets. Even though e-commerce, digital payments, food ordering, and grocery delivery services have been around for a few years, it actually took a terrible pandemic like COVID-19 to really change customer perceptions of these digital services from a ‘good to have’ to a ‘must have’.

According to the State Bank of Pakistan, registered mobile banking customers with commercial banks have increased from 5 million in Q3 of 2019 to 8.2 million by Q3 2020. Mobile Wallets offered by Branchless Banking players too have even more tremendous growth and there were more than 20 million 30-day active wallet customers by the end of 2020. With more than 50 million smartphones in the country and growing, the opportunity to acquire millions of more customers towards formal financial services through mobile wallets is still immense.

Take the example of Easypaisa, the country’s first digital banking service. With an active customer base of nearly 8 million users, the Easypaisa App has become the most downloaded and used Pakistani App on the Android Playstore and iOS App Store, offering more than 200 payment options. With instant account opening across all Telco network SIMs, connectivity with 1-Link for sending and receiving IBFT funds and more than 75,000 Easypaisa shops across Pakistan to help with cash deposits and withdrawals, Easypaisa has become a household name synonymous with digital financial services. Similarly, other players such as Upaisa, Jazzcash, HBL Konnect, and others are also making efforts and convenience remains the main reason why mobile payment wallets have become game-changers for financial inclusion.

The Government and the State Bank of Pakistan are supporting this dynamic industry with various initiatives like Digital Banking Regulations, Digital Account Opening, and the Raast scheme that will provide newer, faster rails for funds movement and settlement between licensed financial institutions. With newer regulations and platforms being deployed and multiple new fintech players entering the market, the coming years will be most exciting to see how technology is deployed to serve Pakistanis with new financial services.

The biggest challenge to financial inclusion remains that the majority of adults in Pakistan still don’t use Bank Accounts or Mobile Wallets; they only have and they only use cash. Incentives like tax benefits are needed to get these people to leave cash and move towards digital payments while steps must be taken to promote the digitizing of physical cash across the country.

At the same time, disincentives need to be placed on the easy conversion of digital funds into physical cash as well. The Government can also play an excellent role in completely digitizing all government payments (national and provincial) by the end of 2021 and accepting no cash payments onwards. These steps would really help accelerate the financial inclusion for the masses in Pakistan.

How Telecom Sector Empowered During This Pandemic

ptcl

When the COVID-19 was initially discovered in China, no one could understand or comprehend the havoc this virus would have on humanity at large.  The world gradually realized the importance of taking protective steps such as SOPs that were required to be taken to safeguard oneself against the virus. World Health Organization (WHO) had identified these measures to be the best defense against the pandemic at the time.

However, if it wasn’t for the IT and telecom sector, the world would have been in a much more critical situation as the identified SOPs wouldn’t have been communicated as quickly and as efficiently across the globe if we did not have the ability to stay connected with each other and also with other countries in these dire circumstances.

After China successfully contained the virus to its minimum carriers, the same practice was shared by the rest of the world through real-time knowledge sharing amongst the healthcare specialists around the world. Later, New Zealand became the first country and a success story to literally have zero cases related to COVID-19. This feat was achieved through efficient use of communication channels using its telecom sector to spread the relevant information promptly to all its citizens.

Similarly, ICTs in Pakistan were able to empower its citizens to stay home and manage all their social, professional, and personal activities through digital means.  This is truly a proud moment when one claims that the telecom sector has empowered the masses during the pandemic. Mobile users alone switched to online shopping and favored online entertainment quite instantaneously, during the social lockdowns imposed by the Government of Pakistan under the guidance of national healthcare service providers.

In the post-pandemic scenario, digitization will continue to remain crucial as we lead our lives in the new world. In the ‘New Normal’, we hope to go out and resume meeting relatives and friends, but only by maintaining social distancing and by avoiding crowded places. We may gradually return to our workplaces, but we will continue to stay digital more than ever before. Our children may gradually return to the classrooms, but this will be combined with a more online educational activity as well.

Ultimately, we will continue to use telecom services more than we used to before the pandemic. This is a big reason, PTCL being the national telecom service provider in Pakistan, remained at the forefront of tackling this pandemic whether it was to empower its employees or stand with the nation. The company took no time to facilitate its consumers to work from home and also help in facilitation in education through online classes. Online bill payment systems and joint ventures with Nokia, Huawei, etc. enhanced the customer care experience exactly when they needed it the most. Not only that, it collaborated with global digital platforms to support its massive consumer base to stay home and safe during the pandemic.

Since the digital infrastructure is now a fundamental component for the economic resilience, health and safety of our people, it is of paramount and significant step to close the connectivity gap in remote areas of Pakistan. It requires action from provincial governments, regulators, and telecom operators to come together as strategic allies and achieve the objective of consumer safety and empowerment in its true sense.

Rare Video Of US Media Calling Out Israel Goes Viral

US Media

The genocide of Palestinians at the hands of Israel is something that is waking up people all around the world. We see protests happening in Canada, the US, and Pakistan among other countries. But not many are talking in support of Palestine and against Israel on the government level, especially not the US. In fact, the US Media reports are overloaded with sympathy for Israel. So, it comes as a shock when a major news channel reports against the mainstream narrative.

US Media Channel

Instead of following the government-enforced narrative, MSNBC deviated from it and talked about some lesser-known aspects of the Israel-Gaza issue. While we may have heard of genocide in Gaza, the atrocities inflicted on Palestinians are not limited to only death. And this is what Velshi says in the program.

In the video that goes viral, Ali Velshi talks about the reality of the lifestyle of Palestinians. He talks about how Palestinians are not getting access to the basic utilities and how Israelis can stroll into their houses to take away whatever they want. They can come in and take away their access to even water and electricity.

Atrocities against Palestinians

He even talks about how Palestinians can get evicted from their own houses. And the strategy that goes behind it. So for instance, their houses get labeled as important sites that need to be saved. These houses become non-residential sites. And when the Palestinians are forcefully moved out, a few months later, Israeli illegal settlement emerges there.

Velshi also points out how, to get medical treatment, Gaza residents have to go to Israel which is not an easy ordeal. He said that he personally witnessed an old woman hauled from ambulance to ambulance (3 in total), to cross a one-mile distance.

He said that while Israel has the right to protect itself, so does Palestine. And if Palestine has been suffering this much, it is only natural for them to become Hamas sympathizers.

That said, it does make one wonder how hard day-to-day life for Palestinians is aside from being systematically eradicated from the world map.

There’s A Real Hobbit Hole In Pakistan And You Can Live In It

Hobbit home - Brandsynario

While J.R.R. Tolkien’s hobbits of Middle Earth are rooted in fantasy, their preferred style of building has started catching on in the real world. Think of a hobbit house, and images of round doors, carved wood beams, warm fires, and structures built into hillsides instantly come to mind.

One such place in Islamabad, Pakistan, has constructed a Hobbit-inspired resort called Hobbitown Resorts Club, where all your Hobbit and Lord of the Rings dreams come true. The four-star club is located on Chabeli Road and is a 30-minute drive from both DHA and Bahria Town.

Why are we excited?

You can buy a family resort or farmhouse in Islamabad that features everything Hobitton related. This is the brainchild of Hobbitown Resorts Club director, Mudassir Khan. He reveals that the end of this year will complete the construction of these quaint houses. He further added that the basic structure has been built, and they’re now working on the hobbits.

When are the houses open for purchase?

It offers membership at Rs1 million per person. Khan stated that the club is inspired by the Hobbiton in New Zealand, the set where iconic movies like the Lord of the Rings and Bilbo were shot. “We’re trying to create a replica of New Zealand’s Hobbiton,” he mentioned.

Furthermore, the place can also be booked for destination weddings and birthday parties. The club will have old barbecue pits, sports, mini cinema, online cab services, and other facilities as well.

If you ask us, this is an excellent job considering we live in Pakistan and rarely encounter something so creative.

The tiny home in the movie is meant for the hobbits. However, this place in Islamabad is at a whopping 11 kanals and is intended for humans.

Ex-Dean Calls Out Cannes Lions For Lack Of Diversity

Cannes Lions

The globally renowned, Cannes Lions International Festival of Creativity has made a mark in the industry. While they try to maintain a diverse and inclusive image, ex-Dean at Cannes Lions School called them out for their double standards.

Ex-Dean Cannes Lions on Twitter

Abraham Abbi Asefaw was Dean of a learning program at Roger Hatchuel Academy and a chairman at LW in London. After being let go of his position, he took his grievances to Twitter in form of a thread. The summary of it was that Cannes prides itself on being diverse yet, they are now a group of all-white Deans.

He starts his thread by announcing how he had tried to make an effort in correcting the situation. However, since the committee did not pay any heed, he is choosing to take the matter to Twitter.

The tweet read:

“After three months of silence from Cannes Lions since my last, constructive effort to hold them accountable as an organisation seemingly committed to DEI, I have now decided to share my experiences publicly.”

The Ex-Dean discussed his POV with reference to some of the past doings of Cannes. He said that in 2019, Cannes Media Lions had launched the most ambitious diversity and inclusion program. But only 2% of the attendees fell in the category of people of color and underrepresented communities.

Diversity & Inclusion at Cannes

Asefaw says that he had aimed for Cannes to be one of the most diverse platforms but his co-Dean was white. Therefore, he had requested that there be only one dean in his program, and that person be of color. It obviously meant that he wanted to continue being the dean of the program. Instead, eight months later, he was informed that he had been let go.

He goes on to say that he is fine not being the Dean but the replacement at least should have been a non-white person.

He also says that he can speak for the people of color who are tired of hearing apologies and empty promises.

We are tired of getting apologies, of being promised new opportunities for POC in the future, of our frustrations to be brushed off. Be committed to the cause you use for profiling.

Obviously, this would attract a lot of bad publicity for Cannes. Therefore, they immediately responded to the Dean’s tweet saying they should “talk this through.”

And later, they tweeted their own thread that contained an apology to Asefaw and a few promises to people of color.

Let’s see that the issue Asefaw raised, where it goes; Will it die down, or will it actually lead to some positive changes in the organization?

If we take a look at how the automotive industry is evolving, we may be taken aback with surprise. The advancements being made are so swift and smooth that one cannot seem to keep up. Just yesterday, it felt like we were looking at the new 2015 Dodge Challenger Hellcat. Now, we have the new BMW 2 Series coupe on its way.

Whether you want premium or coupe, this vehicle is set to offer both. Yes, coupes are often not big on space but they have extremely powerful engines. Do you remember the Aston Martin coups from ‘The Italian Job’? Boy, could those cars run!

Bmw and upcoming new 2 series

BMW Cars

As we are already aware, if it’s BMW, then it’s going to be no less in quality. The vehicle has the perfect 50:50 weight distribution, which means that there is a lot of stability. A car needs good stability out on the road and this vehicle certainly delivers it. There is a car that came before it and it is currently being considered as the best car of BMW. However, this means that there is a lot of hope riding on this 2 series coupe.

The car is said to be rear-wheel drive, with a six-speed transmission. Yes, the car packs a lot of power underneath the hood, especially for a coup. There is no doubt that it can pick from 0-60 in less than a considerable amount of time. Simply, take out that stopwatch and see where the needles point.

More Specifications

Additionally, the new 2 series coup has a stiffer body, so you can soften off the suspension and still retain car control. Yes, a stiff body means that you have room for this. There are also stroke dependant clampers in the vehicle, making sure the car doesn’t bounce too violently on bad roads.

Apart from this, there are many more things that ate being expected from this new BMW. We know for a fact that it may just beat its predecessors. The world of automation is changing and automobiles are becoming better and better. Whether it is related to seats or the fuel average, the car companies are being very considerate of what the public wants.

Future Of Coupes

We hope that more and more vehicles are released under the banner of BMW as the year progresses. The company is also taking a major interest in electric vehicle technology and it seems quite promising. Let us see if we can spot any new models out on the roads shortly.

The best part is, we get to watch all of this news unfold from the comfort of our homes. Let us bask in the information that there is a lot of hope for the automobile industry right now.

Elon Musk Loses His Spot As World’s Second Richest Person

elon musk

[Update]: Elon Musk had crossed Jeff Bezos for some time and claimed the title of being the world’s richest person. But later, he had gone back to being at the second position. Considering most of his worth comes from Tesla’s share value, a dip in the share price meant a dip in worth.

With Tesla’s share value going down, Elon Musk’s net worth decreased by almost $9.1 billion. While he witnessed a decrease, LVMH Chairman Bernard Arnault saw an increase of $46.8 billion in his net worth becoming the second richest man in the world.

Elon Musk now stands as the third richest man in the world on Bloomberg Billionaires Index.

[Jan 8th, 2021]:

Elon Musk Beats Jeff Bezos, Becomes World’s Richest Person

Jeff Bezos had been the World’s Richest man for quite some time. When Bloomberg Billionaires Index put Elon Musk above Bill Gates, Jeff Bezos was in the first position. And now, with Tesla seeing a hike in share prices, Elon Musk has finally crossed Jeff Bezos as well to be at the very top.

The former richest man in the world is now worth $184 billion while Elon Musk has a worth of $195 billion.

Most commonly known as the CEO and product architect of Tesla, Inc., Elon Reeve Musk is involved in much more than that. He is an industrial designer, engineer, CEO, CTO, investor, among other things. And with all these titles, Elon Musk added one more to the list, or maybe two more. He became World’s 2nd richest man, and he also passed ‘Bill Gates’ to get that position.

Elon Musk: Tesla

The designer-engineer-entrepreneur is currently worth $127.9 billion. This happened as a direct consequence of the rising share price of Tesla. Considering he was at $7.2 billion at the start of the year, he has added almost $100.3 billion to his worth. And this exponential increase is the highest among the 500 richest people who Bloomberg Billionaire Index was tracking. Start of the year, in January, the Index placed Musk at 35.
This rise is primarily attributed to Tesla, whose market value rose to $500 billion as the share price increased on Tuesday. This is because even though Musk is involved in several projects, his involvement with Tesla has four times more regard than with

SpaceX or Space Exploration Technologies Corp. So looking at his net-worth overall, 75 percent of it are his shares in Tesla.

elon musk

Bill Gates

Now, let’s explore how Musk has surpassed Bill Gates to become the 2nd richest man. While Musk does occasionally ridicule Gates on Twitter with reference to innovations, Gates occupied the top position of this index for years continuously. He went down one spot as Amazon’s founder Jeff Bezos jumped up in 2017. And this will be the second time in the 8-year history of the Bloomberg Billionaire Index that Gates went beneath number 2 even.

Moreover, it’s safe to say that this was all possible only because Bill Gates is somewhat involved in charities. Had he not been into that, one can only wonder about his worth. Take Bill Gates foundation, for example. Bill Gates donated $27 billion to just that. How much must he be donating to others?

bill gates

Donations or not, one can only wonder how the pandemic that has been devastating for the poor and the middle class has been so profitable for the rich? If the rich were indeed gaining money, why did we see so many layoffs and salary cuts? What was the science behind all this that Bloomberg index members only could earn $1.3 trillion?

Guest Loses Cool On Morning Show & Things Got Out Of Hand

morning show

Morning shows have become very much a part of our culture. Every channel, new and old, will be seen with their own morning show. And when you have it, you will obviously need a host and a group of guests as well, especially for eid.

The top channels are able to gather top celebrities for that purpose but not every channel is able to do so. Hence, in the end, they are forced to bring guests who charge less and are lesser-known in the industry.

These aspiring celebrities know that to be a part of the conversation amongst the masses, they need to bring something controversial to the table. One such event happened on a private channel this eid.

Morning Show – Eid Special

So on this news channel’s morning show clip, you can see how the music stops and everyone is out of their seats, all except one. The host quiets everyone down to ask that person why he did not join in. Comedian, Syed Basit Ali said that he does not think it was enjoyment, rather it was shamelessness, behayaai. He also said that he was not aware this would be happening on the TV show. At this comment, the other invited guests lost their cool too, and a fight ensued.

In this fight, he made some very problematic statements. So for instance, he called Aurat March behayaai. Moreover, he said that all these women in Aurat March would not reach out to a little girl was she raped. These are some huge allegations. Look at the enraging clip, and you will agree with us.

Syed Basit Ali or Khalil Ur Rehman Qamar?

Syed Basit Ali, the comedian, one I have never heard of, utters the sentences that we once heard from Khalil Ur Rehman. And it makes me wonder if he intentionally staged this fight to gain followers. I wonder because Qamar also gained a huge following after his numerous disrespectful lash outs on TV channels and social media platforms.

But why was it aired?

One needs to ask why did the channel let it air? The host does, at one point, say that they should take a break. However, one of the female guests tells her not to. What is even weirder is that they follow her order as if she is the producer of the show. This ordeal makes it all seem staged because it is not the host who has the control of going on a break; it is the people sitting in the Media Control Room (MCR). So the fact that they do not go on a break is because the producer decided to prioritize TRP over ethical behavior on TV.

Alizeh Shah released her first single ever, and the internet is coming for her.

This year on Eid, we got to see some new music releases in the Pakistani music industry. The new name emerged on the music charts, and it’s none other than our favorite Alizeh Shah. Alizeh released a song in collaboration with Sahir Ali Bagga. The song is titled ‘Badnamiyan,’ and we must say, it takes us back to the 90’s era with its old-school vibe.

Alizeh was getting so much love from the netizens over her portrayal of an independent college girl in a Ramzan special Tanna Banna. However, soon after the music video release, people criticize Alizeh for switching her persona.

Backlash On The Music Video

People took to the internet to post a range of comments which sounds harsh. Some commented how the song is tasteless and tacky, while others criticized the choice of clothing she opted for in the music video. Some of the comments read:

“That was a waste of my 2 minutes…Not vocally gifted/talented, contrived performance, tacky and tasteless styling. Even Bagga couldn’t keep her afloat…”

At the same time, some mentioned how the voice is autotuned to the extent that it doesn’t even look like her voice.

Alizeh Shah

Our netizens only seem to like a few young actors and Alizeh is one of them. Her big break was Ehde Wafa, and ever since then, Shah managed to gain a dedicated fan following. However, with this sudden shift of her personality, which is seen in the music video, it is only arbitrary that the netizens criticize her.

What do you think about the music video? Let us know in the comments below.

The world of automotive is seeing quite a lot of development these days. Whether it is the compact domain or the SUV one, there is no hindrance in production. Today, we take a look at the upcoming Honda City variants in Pakistan.

While it is not a huge surprise, it is certainly a pleasant one to see a new generation. However, contrary to popular belief, Pakistan will be seeing the 6th generation of City rather than the 7th one. While it may not be ahead in some areas of tech, it is certainly a vehicle worthy of mentioning. Let us dive into the details of the vehicles.

City And Its Variants

While it is true that many car brands are coming to Pakistan, it has not slowed down the old champions. Honda has been one to make the most robust and stable cars in the whole world. You cannot go wrong with a Honda purchase, be it a City of a B-V. As the years have progressed, they have certainly cemented themselves as true titans of the industry.

So, from what we know, there are 5 variants of Honda city which are coming soon. These five variants are quite impressive in nature with beautiful specifications. Two of the variants will be fitted with a 1200cc engine whereas the rest three will be packed with 1500cc. This is quite a lot of power underneath the hood and is sure to attract a larger audience.

Further Details

Additionally, the first two variants are going to be a manual transmission. If you wish to experience the old-school feel, we suggest that you keep your eye trained on them. The other three variants of the City will have CVT transmission, which is quite common now.

However, the new generation is certainly a major step forward for Pakistan. The Honda City is one of the most fuel economical cars in the country and we hope they stay that way. The world is changing quite fast and everyone wants to keep up in the race.

While the world may be headed towards an electric era, the time of combustion engines is not over yet. These new variants are set to give good competition to other sedans here.

Expected Price

Honda has opened up an early booking for the vehicles. For the 1.2 litre variants, the booking starts at Rs.10 Lac. Now, for the 1.5-litre variant, the booking starts at Rs.12 lac. These seem like an interesting investment that many people would love to get behind.

You can visit their website today if you wish to book the new Honda City variants.

2021 is nearly into the halfway point now and there is still a lot to be seen. We hope that Honda continues to rise above the ranks and establishes itself as the apex predator.

On Wednesday, a meeting was held in this regard at the KU Vice Chancellor (VC) Secretariat. In the meeting, KU VC Prof Dr Khalid Mahmood Iraqi said,

“We need to ensure that the learning process continues. Given the number of students at the University of Karachi, we need to make sure that our house is in order before we start online classes. We do not want to go for any misadventure in this regard,”

He further added,

What we need is a well-thought-out strategy to enable each and every student to learn and meet the course learning objectives.”

Moreover, the meeting was also attended by KU Registrar Prof Dr. Saleem Shahzad, all the deans, Students’ Adviser Dr. Syed Asim Ali, Main Communication Network Incharge Prof Dr. Sadiq Ali Khan, and Quality Enhancement Cell (QEC) Deputy Director Jawaid Akram. The agenda of the meeting was to plan and strategize how the online classes can be made better for teachers and students.

It was decided that Karachi University would incorporate the Learning Management System as their online learning platform within two weeks while the varsity’s QEC would prepare tutorial content for the students and videos for commonly used online learning tools like Zoom, Adobe Connect, and others.

All educational institutions will remain closed for the next three weeks amidst the threat of the ongoing pandemic on orders of the federal government. However, the HEC Chairperson has stated that studies would not be compromised during school closure.

The HEC has launched online classes for university and college students across the country. During the three weeks, the teachers would be giving lectures online as mentioned by Chairperson, Tariq Banuri.

According to the HEC, an online learning management system will be introduced in more than 70 classes and a team of experts will also be formed.

Banuri further mentioned,

“Institutions that don’t have these systems will get them installed within two weeks.”

It has been decided that the list of all the online classes would be compiled and would then be aired on television. The teachers would also be provided with an online evaluation system for grading purposes.

In order for online learning to take place, students and teachers both need to have access to the internet. HEC Chairperson also spoke about what they would be doing in case someone does not have access.

“We will also ensure that internet services are provided to all those areas that don’t have service and modern technological systems are installed there”

As technology has progressed immensely, various apps and tools have been invented for the ease of online teaching worldwide. The ‘google classroom’ and ‘Zoom’ are some of the apps currently being used all over the world where schools have been shut down to curb the coronavirus outbreak.

5 Fool-Proof Marketing Tactics Brands Should Try Post Pandemic

marketing tactics

As the world moves on from the deadly pandemic to widespread vaccinations of Covid-19, businesses and establishments are opening up after two very hectic years. Restrictions placed by the governments around the world are being lifted and if not completely lifted, loosened a great deal. As a new reality is beginning to be seen, businesses should restart in all their glory too. Following are five marketing tactics that you should be using in this post-pandemic new normal.

1. OOH Advertising & Live events

Live events and out-of-home advertising were, to an extent, abandoned in favor of online marketing tactics and strategies for the past two years. Now, as lockdowns are being raised in a number of countries, live events and out-of-home advertising will surely and should come back in fashion. Several businesses are already making use of this and advertising goods like makeup products and fashionable clothing that the public will need once they come fully out of lockdowns.

2. Empathy in Brand Messaging

Brand messaging is particularly important as the customers have not just survived a pandemic but also several other problems like climate change issues and racial injustice and the movements surrounding them. Make sure that your brand is understanding towards those negatively affected by the pandemic.

Nostalgia marketing is another marketing tactic that businesses will be using to gain customers, especially those who wish to be reminded of their past. This is one of the reasons why brands with emotionally connected customers succeed more.

3. Clarify where you stand

In light of the issues our people face, brands must take care to handle their social responsibility by having a more ethical approach. Respecting and supporting customer views will go a long way in helping brand image. Take on marketing tactics that show your opinions against topics like racial injustice and discrimination. Alter brand messaging to include your stances on trending social issues.

4. VIDEOS! Live and standard

One online marketing strategy that businesses utilized while in quarantine were the use of live videos to advertise their products or services, especially industries like real estate. Although the pandemic might be loosening its hold, the customers’ behavior is altered drastically, hence, brands should continue using this tactic for marketing purposes. Digital advertising on YouTube as one of the biggest platforms for standard videos will also be maintained by businesses as consumers will expect videos as visual confirmation of products.

5. Time to invest in social media

As proved by the quarantine, social media advertising has worked tremendously for brands and businesses. Using social media for marketing is not a trend that will disappear easily so make sure to profit off of it. Potential customers will keep using social media so maintain your existing channels and accounts on platforms like YouTube, Facebook, Instagram, and Twitter. If you have no channels, make them; and consider using new platforms like Tiktok which have a huge number of users.

These are all the tips that we have for you to ensure that you transition from quarantine marketing to post quarantine marketing in a way that your business does not take a hit. Instead, it does better than before. As the world moves on, use these marketing tactics and strategies in a way that you profit from the changes happening all across the world.

How To Boost Weight-Loss Efforts With ‘Negative-Calorie’ Foods

For many, a new year means new resolutions, and in the top five inevitably come losing weight and getting healthy. So maybe it’s time to try so-called negative-calorie foods as the key to a successful new year’s diet. Negative-calorie foods contain so few calories that they use more energy to digest than the calories they provide. They can be consumed as part of a healthy diet with no need for drastic measures.

Knowing which foods are considered to have “negative calories” could help dieters make lighter meals and encourage the body to burn more calories, with no need for extreme regimes like cutting out food groups or adopting diets that are too strict to follow.

Foods considered “negative calorie” have a low glycemic index and a high level of fiber. They do, therefore, contain some calories, but not many. As yet, there’s no research to show that eating such food promotes weight loss.

Weight loss food
With just 18 calories per 100g, celeriac is one of the lowest-calorie vegetables around.

However, these foods, most of which are often consumed raw, can play a role in stimulating the body to burn energy while also improving metabolism and encouraging the production of digestive enzymes. These enzymes, in turn, help the body absorb nutrients and help break down fat.

At first glance, the list of negative-calorie foods may not look so appetizing. But the aim here isn’t to make a meal entirely from these foods and with the sole aim of losing weight. That would deprive the body of essential proteins. Instead, negative-calorie foods can be added to meals here and there to help boost metabolism and encourage a healthier diet that’s not laden with sugar or fat.

Top negative-calorie foods:

  • Raw celeriac: with just 18 calories per 100g, celeriac is one of the lowest-calorie fresh vegetables around. Packed with potassium, calcium, and iron, it’s also good for digestion.
  • Cucumber: containing 95% water, cucumbers have very few calories (12 per 100g) and are excellent foods for anyone watching their weight.
  • Chicory: rich in fiber, chicory is a good source of vitamin B9 (folic acid) and vitamin C. It only contains 15 calories per 100g.
  • Zucchini: delicious steamed or cooked in sauces, zucchini only contains 23 calories per 100g and is 96% water. This vegetable is also rich in nutrients such as vitamins C, B3 and A.
  • Green beans: beans are rich in fiber, which helps us feel full. Why not try a big bowl of green beans seasoned with fresh herbs (20 calories per 100 g)?
  • Spinach: rich in iron, spinach only has 26 calories per 100g and contains fiber, magnesium, and calcium. Plus, spinach has a relatively high level of protein for a fresh vegetable.
  • Asparagus: with 20 calories per 100g, asparagus is the ultimate antioxidant.
  • Cauliflower: with 25 calories per 100g plus fiber and calcium, cauliflower can be used in all kinds of dishes.
  • Watermelon: thanks to its high water content, watermelon is the lowest-calorie fruit around, with just 15 calories per 100g.
  • Lemon: with 33 calories per 100g and packed with vitamin C, lemon is the citrus of choice for detoxers.

Pakistanis In Fits After Watching Aamir Liaquat’s Debut Telefilm

Aamir Liaquat has finally entered the acting industry with his debut telefilm that got aired on Express TV this eid. The host who started as a religious scholar on Aalim Online first became a Ramadan show host and kept expanding his niche. He also delved into entertainment show host where he kept announcing his desire of becoming an actor as well. You can see him bring it up with Bulbulay actors when he invited them.

Bas Karo Na – Aamir Liaquat

Not on Bulbulay though, but he definitely did achieve his goal. As part of the Eid Telefilm, Bas Karo Na, Aamir has acted alongside the veteran actor Qavi Khan, as well as the talented actress Nausheen Shah. But seeing him venture into acting has not been taken kindly by the netizens.

https://www.facebook.com/ExpEntertainment/posts/4583279231686297

Netizens react

They made fun of the scholar turned actor and made comments that showed their disgust on the channel hiring Aamir Liaquat as an actor.

Some said that this role suits him more because even outside a film, he is always acting.

Burn!

It is without a doubt, these comments were insulting but man, really? Acting? Telefilm?

While his acting is being termed cringe-y, the telefilm was not getting many badges of honor either.

If all of this was going to happen – the channel casting him as an actor – the least they could do was make sure the story was nice. But, no; in fact, the story tried to trivialize a very important issue. They tried to make fun of something that does happen a lot. In a country where a lot of men don’t respect their wives; a lot of families get their sons married just to get their children, in that country, the character Aamir plays shows how he tells the doctor to save the child and not his wife.

Am I supposed to applaud at this?
