Karachi – 12 January 2021: JazzCash, Pakistan’s leading digital payments platform, and KASB Securities, the country’s leading brokerage firm, have signed a Memorandum of Understanding to promote retail investment by easing access to investment products and stock market trading. The MoU was signed by Erwan Gelebart, CEO, JazzCash and Ali Farid Khwaja, Chairman, KASB Securities during a ceremony at the Pakistan Stock Exchange (PSX) today.

As per the MoU, KASB Securities will assist JazzCash in offering its customers’ investment access to stocks, exchange-traded funds, gold, government bonds and mutual funds. JazzCash will also work towards integrating KASB Securities’ popular investment application, KTrade, and KASB Varsity, a financial education platform. These new services will be available to JazzCash customers through its app in the second quarter of this year.

This unique collaboration aims to increase financial inclusion and the retail investor base, as currently, less than 0.1% of the population has invested in stocks and mutual funds with very limited access to investment products and financial education.

Speaking about the initiative, Erwan Gelebart, CEO, JazzCash said, “With more than 12 million monthly active users, JazzCash has played a pivotal role in providing safe, reliable and convenient financial services to the masses. By leveraging our technology and a customer-centric approach coupled with KASB Securities’ market expertise, now we are aiming to enable millions of people to start trading to help foster a culture of investment in Pakistan.”

These points are beneficial to those currently waiting to be vaccinated. Firstly, the govt administered vaccine has no cost, so if anyone is asking for payment, it is fake. This application will allow users to chat with each other as well as send video and voice messages. The minister made it clear that the App intends to finish development before they year is up.

He also said that a draft of the App will be presented before the federal cabinet development. This is so they can attain approval and move towards a launch. It is being considered quite a step forward for Pakistan because it’s expected to be a world class social media app!

This news tells us that Pakistan is slowly stepping way forward into the second decade of the 21st century. In recent automobile news, we see that more and more brands are entering Pakistan. The auto industry is booming, with newer and cheaper vehicles launching day after day.

Japan Praises The First Anti-Polio Drive Of 2021 In Pakistan

Islamabad: H.E. MATSUDA Kuninori, Ambassador of Japan, praised Pakistan’s decision to launch the first polio vaccination drive of 2021 and reiterated Japan’s commitment to continue its support to eradicate polio from Pakistan and the globe.

During the five-day campaign, around 285,000 polio workers will engage in the vaccination of over 40 million children, wearing masks, using hand sanitizers and maintaining safe distances. Ambassador MATSUDA paid tribute to the frontline polio workers for the protection of children from polio in the harsh environment of COVID-19.

This year marks the 25th anniversary of Japan’s anti-polio assistance to Pakistan. Its total assistance has reached US$ 229 million. Ambassador MATSUDA added, “I sincerely hope that the year of 2021 marks a great step towards eradicating polio as well as controlling COVID-19. To that end, Japan will continue to focus on health, water & sanitation and education in terms of its assistance to Pakistan, which are necessary to ensure a healthy and cultural life to all citizens.”

Turkish Foreign Minister Mevlut Cavusoglu will pay an official visit to Pakistan on 12-14 January 2021 along with a delegation. The Turkish Foreign Minister will hold bilateral talks with Foreign Minister Shah Mahmood Qureshi and call on the Prime Minister and President during the visit.

The two Foreign Ministers will review the entire gamut of bilateral relations and exchange views on regional and international issues.

Foreign Minister Cavusoglu’s visit to Pakistan is part of regular high-level exchanges between the two countries. This will be his third visit during the last two and half years.

The fraternal relations between Pakistan and Turkey are deeply embedded in common faith, culture and history and underpinned by exceptional mutual trust and respect.

Pakistan-Turkey bilateral relations have been institutionalized under the High Level Strategic Cooperation Council (HLSCC), which is the highest level decision-making forum, providing strategic direction to further boost the partnership. Co-chaired by President Erdogan and Prime Minister Imran Khan, the 6th Session of HLSCC was held in Islamabad in February 2020.

The Strategic Economic Framework (SEF), signed at 6th Session of HLSCC, has 71 action points for deeper cooperation between the two countries in diverse fields.

Pakistan and Turkey enjoy close collaboration on issues of mutual interest at multilateral fora such as the UN, OIC and ECO. Turkey is an important member of the OIC Contact Group on Jammu & Kashmir and has been consistently supporting the cause of self-determination of the Kashmiri people.

The forthcoming visit of the Turkish Foreign Minister will help further deepen the bilateral ties and enhance cooperation in multiple areas.
