Spider-Man will Continue his Journey in the Marvel Cinematic Universe

After temporarily breaking up, Sony Pictures and Marvel have found a way to get back together.

The two companies revealed on Friday that Marvel Studios will produce the third Spider-Man movie starring British actor Tom Holland whonplays Spider-Man.

Holland responded to the news on social media.

He posted a smiley face with a clip from “The Wolf of Wall Street” in which Leonardo DiCaprio´s character says: “I’m not leaving. (…) The show goes on.”

Following “Spider-Man: Homecoming” and “Spider-Man: Far from Home”, the third film is set for release on July 16, 2021, the studios announced.

The movie will be produced by Marvel Studios president Kevin Feige.

“I am thrilled that Spidey’s journey in the MCU (Marvel Cinematic Universe) will continue, and I and all of us at Marvel Studios are very excited that we get to keep working on it,” he said in a report.

Amy Pascal will also produce through Pascal Pictures, as she has on the first two films.

“This is terrific,” she also shared her excitement. “Peter Parker’s story took a dramatic turn in ‘Far From Home’ and I could not be happier we will all be working together as we see where his journey goes.”

According to reports, the terms of the new deal were not revealed. Sony declined to comment on the terms, but said, “We have had a great collaboration over the last four years, and our mutual desire to continue was equal to that of the many fans. We are delighted to be moving forward together.”

Representatives for Marvel also refused to comment further.

Emraan Hashmi Defends Netflix Series ‘Bard of Blood’ in Response to DG ISPR’s Tweet

Shah Rukh Khan’s latest Netflix production ‘Bard of Blood’ featuring Bollywood actor Emraan Hashmi has been heavily criticized for portraying Pakistan in a negative light.

The trailer of the spy thriller tells the story of an excommunicated RAW agent, Kabir Anand (Emraan Hashmi) who takes on a secret mission in Baluchistan (Pakistan) after four Indian spies are caught.

Soon after the trailer was released in August, many showed displeasure regarding the anti-Pakistan story.

DG ISPR, Asif Ghafoor also took to Twitter to criticize the plot. He tweeted:

Now, in a recent interview with India Today, Emraan Hashmi has finally responded to DG ISPR’s tweet.

This way, you don’t end up making any film because whenever you have content that has even remotely anything associated with anything political related to these two countries [India and Pakistan], emotions do run high

And you have to bear the brunt in this. And social media is full of this. I think that one tweet [Ghafoor’s] led to other people spewing hate.

Swedish teenager and climate activist Greta Thunberg has been very vocal when it comes to actively shaming the world leaders and air travelers over climate change.

This has won her millions of supporters, however, it just might cost her the Nobel Peace Prize.

At 16, she would be the youngest receiver of the $930,000 award won by famous personalities such as Nelson Mandela, Jimmy Carter and Mikhail Gorbachev.

She would be the first to win the prize for environmental work since past U.S. vice president Al Gore.

While she has won many admirers, her blunt criticism of those who choose to travel by air has upset some people. The accusation towards world leaders by a teenager can cause problems, also

While liberals see her as daring for telling the truth about climate change, doubters describe her as a hypocrite. She has been accused of being manipulated by her parents.

She has denied allegations that she is paid for her activism or is being “used” by anyone.

She wrote on Facebook earlier this year that “there is no one ‘behind’ me except for myself. My parents were as far from climate activists as possible before I made them aware of the situation.”

“It’s been a while (since Gore was awarded the prize in 2007) … so that would boost her chances,” Sverre Lodgaard, a deputy member of the award committee from 2003 to 2011, told Reuters.

“The problem is that the principle of ‘flight shame’ brings her chances … down. Shame is not a constructive feeling to bring about change.”

Five years ago, Pakistani education activist Malala Yousafzai won the award at the age of 17, but her nomination was less divisive than Greta’s.

The winner will be announced on October 11th.  If she wins, she’ll be the youngest recipient of the award.

Resultantly, not a single bag of Areca nut [commonly known as betel nut, supari or chalia] has been legally imported since December 2017. In this period, Rs. 150 billion of chalia has been smuggled into the country and government has lost Rs. 44 billion in revenue through duties and taxes. It would be worthwhile mentioning that while the court has issued clarification in this matter, smuggler mafia and their facilitators are still preventing the legal import. Now that we have used up all our legally imported stock, we will not be forced to buy smuggled Supari.

Honda Pakistan Shuts Down Car Production!

Just a couple of days ago a shocking news had come forth that Indus Motors Company is shutting down Toyota Pakistan production plants for 15 days (30th September).

Now, Honda Pakistan has also decided to shut down its manufacturing plant. Honda only had 11 working days in September and saw only 13 working days in August and 20 in July.

Pak Suzuki Motor Company (PSMCL) is in a less dire state meaning it might not have to take the same action as Toyota and Honda.

Luckily for Suzuki, the new 660CC Alto driving has sold 8,109 units sold in the last couple of months, and they have seen all working days, despite the fall in sales for WagonR.

The company has so far not observed any NPDs. We are monitoring the situation and by the end of this month we will review our production and sales outlook of July-September and future prospects of sales in coming months. -Shafiq Ahmed Sheikh, spokesperson for PSMCL

Honda has over 3,000 units unsold at its plant and network according to the latest information. The company has also laid off over 1,000 contractual employees in the past 3 months.

Toyota too has approximately 3,000 in backlog. In September, the Toyota plant was operational at less than 50% capacity.

Qandeel Baloch’s Brother Sentenced for 25 Years in Jail for Honour Killing

Honour killing is not an alien concept for Pakistanis. However, the concept of these murderers getting prosecuted was for sure an unfamiliar one to us.

The case of social media sensation Qandeel Baloch (late) is a classic example of how a patriarchal society gives rise to evils like misogyny which further result in horrors like honour killing.

Qandeel was strangled to death at 26 by her brother Waseem for posting sensationl content on social media and gaining immense popularity for it.

After Qandeel’s murder, she was celebrated by many like a hero, however she had not been appreciated like that when she was alive.

In a media conference organised by police in 2016, her brother Waseem admitted to his actions. And the good news is that, today, a court in the eastern city of Multan found Muhammad Waseem guilty of the murder and sentenced him to imprisonment for 25 years.

Although it is late and many think 25 years of imprisonment is too less, however this news is being celebrated all over social media because at least some justice is served.

However, Waseem’s lawyer has said that he would file an appeal against the verdict.

Prince William & Kate Middleton to Visit Pakistan in October

Kensington Palace announced that the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge “The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge will attend a special event at the Aga Khan Centre on 2nd October, hosted by His Highness The Aga Khan.”

It will be the first official visit by a member of the British royal family to Pakistan since 2006 when Prince Charles and Camilla travelled to the south Asian country.

Earlier, the Queen visited in 1961 and 1997, while Princess Diana travelled to Pakistan on a solo trip in 1991.

The official tweet reads:

Earlier, the official announcement was made in June in regards to the visit.

“The Government and the people of Pakistan warmly welcome the announcement of the Royal Visit by Their Royal Highnesses The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge to Pakistan this year,” tweeted the High Commissioner for Pakistan, Mohammad Nafees Zakaria.

He added that the people of Pakistan “still cherish and fondly recall” the visits by the Queen and described the upcoming trip as a “reflection of the importance the United Kingdom attaches to its relations with Pakistan. The two countries enjoy historical links which both sides wish to strengthen further.”

Kensington Palace states further details will be shared in due course. For now, it’s unclear if the children will accompany the couple on the visit or not.

“The security will be robust and William and Kate’s teams will be taking no chances,” stated a report on Mirror. “It will be a challenge ensuring they are safe, which would be more complicated by George , Charlotte and Louis being there as well.”

Johnson & Johnson Products Discontinued in Pakistan by United Brands

United Brands Limited has officially announced to discontinue all Johnson & Johnson products from their portfolio for Pakistan.

According to an official notification, United Brands has informed that the removal of all products from their profile carrying the Johnson & Johnson name will result in a monthly loss of revenue of approximately Rs.70 million.

However, the notification failed to mention the reason behind removing the brand from the portfolio.

Earlier in April 2019, United Brands announced the discontinuation of distribution for other major brands from their portfolio, including:

  • Haleeb Foods
  • Unilever
  • Heinz and
  • IFFCO

Mohsin Abbas Haider & Wife Officially Part Ways!

Fatima Suhail filed for khula on September 3 after having accused Mohsin Abbas Haider of physical violence and cheating.

Finally, Fatima Sohail and Mohsin officially parted ways yesterday after the Lahore family court approved the khula request.

September 3, 2019:

The last update we had on the case of Mohsin Abbas Haider and his wife Fatima Suhail was that, after a high profile investigation was conducted, Mohsin was found guilty for threatening his wife by a lower court in Lahore.

Today, Fatima Suhail has finally made and acted upon her decision of filing for Khula in Lahore’s family court.

After a police investigation, some of Fatema Suhail’s accusations on hr husband, Mohsin Abbas Haider have been confirmed and the actor has been proven guilty by a lower court in Lahore.

While the allegation of demanding money from Fatema and breaching her trust were found to be untrue, the allegation of threatening her was found to be true. However, Mohsin’s lawyer had a different story to tell after the court’s verdict:

July 21, 2019: Popular Pakistani actor, model, and singer Mohsin Abbas Haider has been accused of domestic violence by his wife, Fatima in a social media post that has now gone viral.

Fatima Naqvi claims that she caught her husband cheating in Nov 2018, however, he turned violent when she tried to confront him.

The comprehensive post described the details of her abusive relationship with the actor.

“Zulim Bardast kerna bhi Qunah hai! (It’s a sin to tolerate oppression),” she wrote as she began to reveal what she has gone through.

Mohsin Abbas Haider’s Private Data Hacked & Leaked

Fatima claims that she caught Mohsin cheating on November 26, 2018, while she was pregnant with their son who was born on May 20, 2019.

“When I confronted him, instead of being embarrassed he started beating me. I was pregnant at that time!” she wrote in a Facebook post.

“He pulled me from hair, dragged me on floor, kicked me several times, punched me on face & threw me on the wall. I was brutally beaten by my husband. My caretaker!,”  the wife wrote.

She went on to add that after Mohsin abandoned her, she contacted a friend and was rushed to a hospital where the doctor initially refused to give her a checkup because it was a police case.

Fatima was relieved to find that the baby was not harmed and decided to make the marriage work for her child, despite knowing that he was in a relationship with another woman.

“On May 20, 2019, I was blessed with a beautiful boy. I had surgery due to complication. While I was in operation theater in Lahore, my husband was in Karachi sleeping with his GF, Nazish Jehangir, an emerging model/actor,” she wrote.

“He later posts depressing statuses to get public attention,” Fatima further accused.

She also claims that Mohsin denied taking responsibility for their son.

“I asked him to take our son’s responsibility where he started beating me again! He refused to do anything for his son! Now I had Enough!,” she wrote adding that she will not tolerate any kind verbal or physical abuse anymore.

“Truth told! Now I will see you in court Mr. Mohsin!” she concluded the post

Fatima has also shared pictures of her bruised face and arm as proof of the domestic violence along with a copy of the police report she filed against Mohsin.

We reached out for a comment from the man himself.  “My verdict will come out and all the questions will be answered soon,” replied the actor. He said he will be addressing a press conference on the matter.

We’re almost through with 2019, and the year has seen a huge number of major retailers filing for bankruptcy.

The sad part is that this means that thousands of stores will close causing thousands of employees to lose their jobs and become unemployed.

Unfortunately for many of us, some of the brands we remember from our childhood days are no longer there.

Here is a list of 5 most recent fashion-related bankruptcies filed this year:

Diesel

Diesel USA, the American subsidiary of denim and accessories brand Diesel S.p.A, filed for Chapter 11 bankruptcy in March. In the filing, Diesel stated that it is “unable to sustain the kinds of losses it has suffered in recent years”.

Forever 21

Forever 21 was struggling to secure financing from outside lenders, and on August 28 it Bloomberg published an article speculating that the company could be preparing for a “potential bankruptcy filing,” based on information from “people with knowledge of the plans.”

Gymboree

Gymboree is a clothing business that also runs Janie & Jack and Crazy 8 stores. The company filed for bankruptcy on January 17. It is closing all of its more than 800 Gymboree and Crazy 8 stores.

Charlotte Russe

The teenage-focused garment company Charlotte Russe filed for Chapter 11 bankruptcy protection in February and revealed plans to close almost 100 stores in malls.

Roberto Cavalli

Roberto Cavalli filed for Chapter 7 bankruptcy protection in the United States Bankruptcy Court for the Southern District of New York in early April, following at least six years of vital financial crisis.

“Due to severe liquidity constraints, the company is unable to pay its debts, including ordinary operating expenses, as they come due,” read the filing.

Over time, Victoria’s Secret, Gap, Abercrombie & Fitch, and plenty more fashion retailers have closed numerous stores due to financial crisis.

Gates Foundation to Provide $200mn for PM Imran Khan’s Ehsaas Program

Imran Khan meets Bill Gates

Prime Minister Imran Khan met the tech-billionaire and principal founder of Microsoft, Bill Gates.

As per reports by Radio Pakistan, the Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation will provide Pakistan an amount of 200 million dollars for the implementation of the Ehsaas Program in 2020.

An MoU was signed during the occasion between both parties in New York on Wednesday. Bill Gates had called on PM Khan on the sidelines of the United Nations General Assembly session.

Once again Android users are in trouble. Despite the face that Google spends billions on making devices, hackers still find a way to install malicious applications in a user’s phone.

According to a new report by Symantec, hackers have discovered yet a new way of bypassing Google’s rigorous safety program which blocks malware from the Play Store.

The on-line safety agency has found apps which seem to be protected till they’re downloaded in their latest research.

What happens in when one of the affected applications is downloaded, the user is able to see the icon on their phone. So, the user opens the app, interacts with it like any other.

However, what the user is unaware of is that these apps are running in the background by a third-party application and obtains a distant configuration file.

Symantec found that a number of completely different configurations together with one that may toggle the app’s icon-hiding behavior, in addition to different -related settings.
