Pakistan Plans Chinese Yuan Panda Bonds for 2020

Pakistan is planning to circulate its first round of Chinese yuan-denominated bonds also known as Panda bond in the first quarter of 2020.

Reportedly, Panda bonds worth an estimated $1 billion will be dispatched. This decision comes after the growing demand for the country’s debt as the economic conditions of the country have improved.

Muhammad Aurangzeb, president, and chief executive officer of Habib Bank Limited, told Geo News on Thursday:

“Pakistan is moving closer to debut Chinese bond sales. This will be the first time that the government will be assessing the Chinese capital market, which is the third-largest bond market in the world.”

He added that the finance ministry is planning on issuing the bonds as soon as they obtain the credit rankings from Chinese agencies. The process might take a couple of months.

HBL is assisting the government of Pakistan in launching the inaugural Panda Bond issue… we will be ready to ‘press the button’ with the government, in the first quarter of 2020.

Furthermore, the senior banker shared that the size of the bond offering is likely set at $1bn or equivalent CNY. The first tranche is expected to be $350 million equivalent CNY.

Moreover, 4 banks will be working on this deal as lead managers and financial advisors, including HBL, Citibank, CDB, and CITIC.

At the beginning, the bond could be targeted at the institutional investors to tap demand for this issuance. Banks and insurance companies are likely to buy this paper. But it is expected to gain appeal from individual investor later.

The CEO believes that this is a good window to issue Eurobond/Sukuk in the international debt market as well.

No doubt that it’s the best time to enter the international debt market due to monetary easing by the world’s major central banks.

Investors were seeking out higher-yielding assets to generate returns as the European Central Bank was expected to deliver quantitative easing and the US Federal Reserve has reduced interest rates.

Last but not least, Aurangzeb shared that the IMF’s programme can bring investors under confidence and help decide the best way to approach the debt market.

But, analysts said, these Panda bonds could be issued in China’s interbank market “provided” they were investment-grade rated, which Pakistan was not.

We have now to see what is the fate of Panda bonds in Pakistan and how the country will benefit from it in the long-run.

Mera Bacha Alert App Formally Launched in KPK

November 29th,2019:It is no secret that the children of our country have been victims of sexual abuse time and again over the past few years.

Previously, our Prime Minister took the initiative to launch a “Mera Bacha Alert” app for immediate reports to the parents.

The app has been formally launched in the province of KPK by the Cheif Minister Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Mahmood Khan. The aim behind this launch of this app is to keep the parents and relatives of the missing child updated with the latest developments of the case and help the concerned department in the process of recovery.

The Minister of KPK appreciates the efforts of Performance Management and Reforms Unit KP for developing this application that is a crucial step in the given circumstances. He also expressed his views about the need for this app while addressing to the official ceremony.

“It is the priority of this government to ensure the protection of children. Mera Bacha Alert application is a golden step in this regard”- By Cheif Minister KPK

The application will allow the parents of the missing children to report the event while adding pictures and attributes of the child. It will serve as a one-stop platform for all the regulating bodies and a notification will be sent to the District Police Office, RPO, Chief Seceratory and IGP.

The Cheif Minister also emphasized the importance of this application in such times when crimes against children are at the peak and assured that his government will provide all the possible assistance in the performance of this application.

October 2nd, 2019: Recently five cases of child-killing were reported in Chunian, which were kidnapped earlier, according to local police.

Last week, the police were informed about the body of a child in a ditch. Later, the police also recovered remains of two more minors from the sand dunes. A wave of shock and terror had gripped Chunian when the police recovered the bodies.

Locals suspected a gang was behind the killing of minor boys after rape. The traders association of Chunian had protested against the incident.

When protests began, the government took notice and an action plan was put in place.

However, it is an issue that needs constant attention and a recent step has been taken towards protecting the children of this country.

Yesterday, in a federal cabinet meeting, PM Imran Khan was briefed on these incidents and he subsequently ordered to develop an application called ‘Mera Bacha Alert’ for the immediate redressal of complaints related to missing children.

Linked with Pakistan Citizens Portal, the application will be ready in around 2 weeks time. It will help trace missing children; once data is entered in the app, it will directly be transferred to the police.

“Those found involved in such heinous crimes will be given an exemplary punishment.”

PM Imran Khan seems very serious about the recurring, heinous crimes against children. We hope that this step will prove to be helpful in tackling cases of child absuction and abuse in Pakistan.

Here’s How WhatsApp’s ‘Delete Message’ Feature Works!

WhatApp has once again rolled out yet another feature that its users have been waiting for quite a while.

The application is now gradually rolling out the self-destructing message feature for its Android Beta version.

WhatsApp is still working on updating this feature to make the experience better for all users for the time being.

In order for a message to self-destruct, the user will have to set a particular period of time.

Users who have enrolled themselves for Google Play beta programme can download the latest version.

Android users may not be able to see an update notification on their Google Play Store for the time being as it has not rolled out for everyone as of yet.

WhatsApp has renamed the feature’s name to ‘Delete Messages’. According to WABetaInfo, it will be initially available for group chats and can be enabled by the group’s administrators.

Once it is enabled, it can then be toggled in Contact Info or Group Settings.

There are five options for time intervals to choose from – 1 hour, 1 day, 1 week, 1 month and 1 year.

What is more interesting is that when a user uses the ‘Delete for Everyone’ feature, a message can still be seen reading that something was deleted. However, with ‘Delete Messages’ it will be different, even after deletion, there will be no message as if it had never existed.

However, the talented actor was recently injured during a shoot for an upcoming project. Faysal was shot on the back with a bullet, resulting in bleeding.

The shot was fired from a short distance, causing Faysal severe pain, so much so that he overwhelmed him for a few moments.

Thankfully, the rubber bullet did not cause much harm to the actor and he resumed his work after receiving first-aid assistance on the set.

A video showing the rubber bullet injury on Faysal’s back is going viral on social media showing his co-workers and crew members flanking him.

Pakistani aerospace engineer Dr. Sarah Qureshi, who holds a Master’s in Aerospace Dynamics and a Ph.D. in Aerospace Propulsion from Cranfield University has made us a proud nation.

This talented individual has built an airplane engine that is pollution-free, bringing a reduction in climate pollution and global warming.

Furthermore, the engine will also help in inducing artificial rain during flights. The engine will also have a unique pressure-based condensation system, which will cool the water vapors in the aircraft exhaust.

This means that water will remain on the plane and rain can be released when needed.

In a recent interview, Sarah said she has launched a company called “Aero Engine Craft” to make environment-friendly airplane engines, with her father, Masood Latif Qureshi who is also a Scientist and a Physicist.

Dr. Qureshi shares that her father has played a major role in her life and is the inspirational force behind her company. In an interview with NIC Lahore, she shared:

A major part of this work was also carried out in Pakistan with the support of my father who acted as an external supervisor for the research.

That is how my father came up with this breakthrough invention that was granted two international patents.

I further developed the entire engineering model for it during my PhD research. I was offered a university studentship for my masters and PhD.

This particular problem was given to me as a research question for my PhD thesis by my supervisor Prof. Pericles Pilidis in 2012.

She also shared that young entrepreneurs should learn how to value time, it has more worth than money. She further asked them not to follow trends but to follow their own aptitude and passion, only then they will be able to excel.

We congratulate Dr. Sarah and her family on this grave accomplishment and wish them all the very best for all future projects.

Government to Reward Overseas Pakistanis With Duty-Free Imported Cars

The Ministry of Overseas Pakistanis and Human Resource Development has proposed a deal for overseas Pakistanis in which they will be able to import 1 hybrid car (up to 3000CC) duty-free.

Furthermore, the authority shared that this will be for those Pakistanis who are Foreign Exchange Remittance Cardholders who present proof of remitting $100,000 using legal banking channels within two years.

The ministry was directed to address the issues being faced by overseas Pakistanis and help in making policies to make things better for them.

Syed Zulfi Bukhari, special assistant to the prime minister for overseas Pakistanis and human resources development tweeted:

In recognition of our overseas Pakistanis who use banking channels to send money back home, my ministry has proposed to reward them for their contribution to the national exchequer. I will be backi.ng this initiative with full force so in time we can kill the menace of hundi/havala.


A notification was circulated stating that these orders have been sent to the Ministry of Industries & Production and the Engineering Development Board by the Overseas Ministry.

Furthermore, it was projected that during this ongoing fiscal year, settlements from 8 million overseas Pakistan will rise 5% touching a record of $23 billion.

As per the notification, FBR has approved duty, tax-free import of cars to privileged people on the first arrival in Pakistan.

Moreover, the Senate has also recommended duty-free mobiles under the baggage rule allowing duty-free import of mobile phones to aid the government’s goal of digital Pakistan.

Islamabad Ranked ‘Safest City in Pakistan’ by World Crime Index

Islamabad has been ranked as the safest city in Pakistan. The capital was ranked on the World Crime Index on 224th position among 328 cities around the world.

Karachi also made it to the list, but on the 71st position. Meanwhile, Lahore showed improvement in their ranking as compared to the previous year and ranked on 174th.

Furthermore, according to the index, the world’s top 10 most dangerous cities are  Caracas in Venezuela followed by Pietermaritzburg in South Africa, Port Moresby in Papua New Guinea, San Pedro Sula in Honduras, Pretoria in South Africa, Durban in South Africa, Johannesburg in South Africa, Fortaleza in Brazil, Salvador in Brazil, and Rio de Janeiro, Brazil.

Whereas the safest city in the world is Abu Dhabi, UAE with a score of 10.61.

One of Pakistan’s most renowned biscuit brands recently launched a stellar drama called Candi Meray Dost Meray Yaar.

The story revolves around 4 friends: Zoya (Syra Sharoz), Sherry (Haroon Shahid), and Zain (Asim Azhar) and Mohib (Hamza Tariq Jameel) who are all band members and share a passion for music .

But, somehow cruel fate causes them to part ways. However, Zoya is keen on reuniting them during her grand-wedding.

Over the course of days, Zoya’s efforts to reunite the band becomes her first priority, even though her wedding is imminent and this gets her family worried.

We see Sherry willing to make amends as Zain also comes around to the idea of a reunion of all the friends.

But will this reunion help the squad rekindle their friendship?

Nonetheless, we must admit that amidst this sweet and sour friendship, each character in this story has left us all a valuable lesson

1. Undying Faith and Hope is a Must

From the first episode, Zoya’s character inspires us to be hopeful. Despite all the years that have passed she believes that her friends will once again reunite during her wedding. She carries a candle of faith and shows us that being optimistic truly has its fruits if you really want to run after your goal.

2. Passion for Perfection Makes Him Strive Ahead

Sherry is portrayed as the mature one making the band a success with a long-term plan. However, in his desire to make the band successful, he takes onwership, making decisions that others are not often on-board with. Nonetheless, he has always tried to think about the band which has taken him far in life.

3. Heartbreaks and Aches are a Part of Life

Zain, being the youngest member of the band, has always done everything possible to seem serious and mature in front of others. Although he wants his own space and privacy, he tries to do his best to act like a responsible adult as we have seen in Episode 1 and 4.

4. Being the ‘Misfit’ is actually ‘Alright’!

Mohib is one character that we all can relate to at some given point in time. He is going through a rough patch, caught up with the wrong people and is financially strained. He may not have any credit balance in his phone, or cash in the wallet, yet he is always there for his friends because nothing else matters.

The series has shown how all the characters have put behind their past for a bright future and each one of them has grown from their own personal experiences as artists and human beings.

Hyundai to Launch First Locally Assembled Vehicle in Pakistan in December

According to several reports, Hyundai is now gearing up to finally launch their very first locally-assembled variant.

As per these reports and earlier news, the first local assembled vehicle from Hyundai is their very popular and famous H-100 Porter commonly known as the Shezor.

Furthermore, the reports hint that Hyundai is planning on holding a special launch ceremony on 2nd December in Lahore.

Moreover, the Hyundai H-100 Porter is said to be a 2.6L Euro II diesel engine coupled with a 5-speed manual transmission vehicle.

Due to the devaluation of the rupee, the localization can help the market be more sustainable and in this regards the COO had said: Higher indigenization in vehicles can stabilize on which we are focusing more.

It is reportedly has a towing weight capacity of 1.0 ton. That’s not all, the porter will also be the first to be a locally produced pickup that will offer a four-year or 100,000 km warranty. The pickup will be produced by the brand’s plant in Faislabad.

Pakistani TikToker Hareem Shah has been on a roll for a while now. In the latest video making rounds on social media, Shah can be seen displaying her aerial firing skills.

Hareem Shah is another girl who is riding on the waves of popularity all across Pakistan and beyond the borders for her obstinate and histrionic behavior, is turning into another topic of discussion for Pakistani public.

Harem Shah shot to fame after her TikTok video inside the Foreign Office building went viral.

Seemingly, the video did not sit down well with masses and generated a lot of online disliking for the social media app star.

Shah’s videos seem to grasp attention like wildfire and she’s in the spotlight once again for her recent dance clip.

Hareem is seen dancing with a Pakistan Muslim League-N MPA from Gilgit-Baltistan, Muhammad Ameen.

The video was made at a local hotel with her name mentioned on a banner which proves that Shah was specially invited to the gathering. A man said to be MPA’s friend, is seen showering Hareem Shah and Amin with currency notes.

Previously, Shah ended up in the committee room at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and made videos for her over a million followers on the app.

Audi to Slash Over 9,000 Jobs by 2025!

Renowned German luxury automotive manufacturer, Audi, on Tuesday announced that it plans on slashing 9,500 jobs by 2025.

The auto giant further shared that this plan is a part of a massive overhaul to help in finance because the switch to electric vehicles is quite costly.

However, the job-cut according to the company will be achieved through an early retirement program and natural turnover at its two German plants.

Furthermore, the manufacturer added that it will create 2,000 new jobs in the areas of electromobility and digitization to provide smarter and cleaner cars of tomorrow to the people.

Audi might not be the only automotive giant to make this decision as a part of the direction shift. Other companies have also started to implement eco-friendly policies and have started to manufacture electric vehicles.

In times of upheaval, we are making Audi more agile and more efficient.

As far as the remaining 50,000 employees are concerned, they will have job-security until the end of 2029 under the hard-fought deal struck with labour representatives.

Karle Jo Karna Hai: Ali Gul Pir Takes a Jab at Ali Zafar Declaring the Song ‘Channo Ki Maut’!

Ali Gul Pir has released a new rap song titled ‘Karle Jo Karna Hai’ (Do whatever you want) which directly takes a dig at a famous Pakistani singer.

He also said “I’m calling this song Channo ki Maut”

While the entertainer doesn’t take anyone’s name, everyone knows who it’s directed at.

A few months back, Ali Gul Pir got himself into legal trouble when Ali Zafar issued a notice against him for ‘derogatory remarks’.

In response, Pir issued a statement regarding the situation.

“In Pakistan, some people have so much power that they try to silence you if you don’t agree with them,” he declared.

“A self-proclaimed “rockstar” didn’t like that I called him an “alleged harasser” and made a joke about him. If I got arrested for every satire piece I’ve written, I’d be a resident of Karachi Central Jail,” wrote the rapper.

“Your ego broke because of one joke,” he sings in this latest song, referring to the joke that provoked Ali Zafar to issue an FIA notice.

Through lyrics such as “Chup nahi baithunga, sab kuch mai keh dunga… kar le jo karna hai,” he clears that he cannot be stopped from raising his voice and sharing his point of view.

Shot in the streets of Lyari, the music video itself is interesting to watch featuring dance performances by Mehar Bano, Anoushay Abbasi, Bhuran Ali, Irfan Ali, and Alina Zuberi.

Social media users have been praising the rapper and also calling the song an “anti-sexual harassment anthem”.

“NEW SONG ALERT! I dedicate this song to all those who try and have tried to silence me. Watch it and share #KarleJoKarnaHai,” the rapper wrote while sharing the song.
