Mehwish Hayat Claps Back at Amir Liaquat who Trolled her for Raising her Voice

It’s no surprise that actors and actresses of our industry are always trolled for one reason or another. However, when renowned people begin to put each other down it just seems a bit too much to handle.

Actress Mehwish Hayat clapped back at Aamir Liaquat and it was worth lauding.

She made sure to speak up and let Aamir Liaquat know that she won’t allow his sexist comments to slide.

Aamir Liaquat made incriminatory tweets regarding her comments on the US airstrike in Iraq.

On 3 January, a US airstrike killed Iranian leader Qasem Soleimani in what is potentially the harshest order from Trump in the Middle East.

Mehwish took to Twitter to express her views writing, “Can’t believe that just 72 hours into 2020 & the world is already teetering on the edge of war.”

I guess this is what happens when the ‘leader of the free world’ takes unilateral decisions without regard for international laws,” she continued.

A few days after her stance, the TV host Aamir Liaquat who is known for his questionable antics lately tweeted about her perception.

The TV host wrote:

Tamgha-e-Imtiaz ka matlab ye nahi ke item girl imtiazi bayanat den. (Getting a Tamgha-e-Imtiaz doesn’t mean that an item girl is fit to make distinctive remarks).

He stated that Hayat is merely an item girl and nothing else (dancing girl).

Liaquat continued making nonsense remarks and stated:

Aur waise bhi Qasem Soleimani agar hayat hote tou kia Iran mai inhe perform karne bulate? (And if Qasem Soleimani was alive, do you think he would’ve invited her to perform in Iran?).

Honestly, his remarks are mind-boggling.

Mehwish Hayat then responded with a response that takes the cake and wrote

This ‘item girl’ is exercising her democratic right to have an opinion whereas you keep stooping to making personal jibes and nothing more. Man up!

The actress went on to say “By the way, whatever happened to the case you were filing against me for Load Wedding? I have been waiting with bated breath,”

In March of 2019, the talk show host claimed that he will take Load Wedding actors and directors to court for maligning his reputation via their movie.

Shahid Afridi Discourages Pakistanis From Traveling Abroad

Importing Mobiles to Pakistan is Now 86% Cheaper!

If you have been waiting to import a smartphone from overseas but have been reluctant to do so because of duty and custom taxes, you do not have to worry anymore.

According to the Federal Board of Revenue, importing a mobile phone is now 86% cheaper.

Phones with sales tax on phones that cost under $100 have reduced from Rs. 1,320 to just Rs. 200 as the FBR is amending its tax laws.

People buying phones in this slab were previously paying Rs750 in duties for phones worth under $100.

Because of the flexibility in the tax policy, imports increased by a whopping 58% halfway through the 2019-20 financial year. Last year, (July-November 2019) import volume recorded was $391 million while it was $248 million the previous year.

The FBR had proposed tax cuts in Customs regulatory duties of mobile phone imports back in September to provide relief to the common man.

“This reduction in duty/tax is expected to increase import volume of mobiles in Pakistan,” read a notification by the FBR.

However, despite the FBR and government’s efforts to increase mobile imports, the FBR collected Rs118 billion less than it was expected to.

Fawad Chaudhry Invites Elon Musk to Setup Factory in Pakistan!

The Federal Minister for Science and Technology Fawad Chaudhry has extended a special invite to Tesla CEO Elon Musk to build his next factory in Pakistan.

The minister used the social media platform Twitter to invite the entrepreneur. In a tweet replying to news about how Musk plans on building half a million EVs in its future factory outside Berlin, he wrote:

“Dear @ElonMusk your next destination may be Pak, 68% of the world population lives within 3.5 hours flight radius from Islamabad, we offer ten years zero tax facility and custom free import for factory setup, no other country may offer, plus we are worlds 3rd biggest freelance software exports.”

Here’s the tweet:

The so-called Gigafactory – Tesla’s fourth – will include facilities to assemble entire electric vehicles, including the production of batteries.

Over the years, she has played many diverse roles and shared the screen with many great actors and actresses.

However, there is one name that is often attached to Maya and it’s none other than the ever-charming Osman Khalid Butt.

Maya Ali took Instagram to ring in the New Year with a hearty wish, she shared a new photo with her fans with the caption, “2019 thank you for the lessons, 2020 I am ready.”

The post then attracted some positive comments and lauded the pretty actress. However, one user failed to impress Maya Ali with his irrelevant comment.

This user inquired if Maya Ali is still married to Osman Khalid Butt and the actress wrote “You have a right to ask a question but please don’t give any statements about anyone,”

Kudos to Maya Ali for her response!

The comment was soon deleted and it looks like Maya Ali schooled the user well. Celebs may work hard for their fans and well-wishers but it’s high time some of us learn to respect privacy and quit jumping to conclusions.

The two starred together in TV serials Aik Nayee Cinderella and Aunn Zara back in 2012 and 2013 respectively – but have never been romantically involved with each other. Their latest drama together was Sanam and their fans have been eagerly waiting to see them again on screen.

Yasir Nawaz Partnered With Kanwar Arsalan For His Latest Venture

Actor cum director Yasir Nawaz is venturing into the food buisness by opening up a restaurant in Clifton Karachi.

The name of the eatery is The Forest. He has reportedly partnered with Kanwar Arsalan for this project.

“I’ve had an idea and desire to open a restaurant for a long time but never had the courage to enter the business. I love food and eating, and I made the decision to open a restaurant” said the Nadaniyaan actor.

The actor states that the restaurant will be serving desi food and there will be no compromise on quality.

He also added “We’ll be serving continental too but our main focus will be desi foods like karahi, daal makhani, and so on.”

The food buisness is entirely opposite of the media industry and while Yasir Nawaz has had the taste of one industry and clarifies that he can’t wait to have fun in food buisness.

The Forest has a very romantic ambience and is ideal for couples and families to give a try.

”We’ve chosen a soothing and romantic ambiance with old trees. We hope people will like it.” Nawaz added.

The Wrong No. director has created some of the very impressive dramas in our industry and has proved to be a great actor.

Jazz Successfully Conducts 5G Tests

Jazz has successfully tested out the fifth generation of mobile technology.

1. N-95

N-95 masks are such that they seal around the nose and the mouth in a way that very few particles can get in our out. Non-woven fabrics make up surgical masks. So, those healthcare workers who cannot find N95 masks can use surgical masks because of the second-best among the masks on the market. According to research conducted in 2013, surgical masks are three times more effective than homemade face masks at blocking virus-containing elements. But healthcare workers should still have access to them first.

3. “Hybrid” masks, safest homemade option

In a recent study, researchers found that hybrid masks filter more than 80% of smaller particles and 90% of larger particles. However, one has to pay attention to the composition of the mask. To make a hybrid mask, you have to combine two layers of 600-thread-count with another layer that is from different materials, for instance, silk, flannel, or chiffon. The combination that offers the most protection is cotton and chiffon. The second most protective combination is cotton and flannel. This is followed by cotton and silk. Lastly, you can also use four layers of natural silk.

4. Scarf around your nose

The least effective material probably is a mask made from 80 thread count single layer. Scarves reduce the risk of infection by approximately 44% after the exposure of almost 30 seconds. Although, after an exposure of 20 minutes, the risk reduction reduced to 24%.

5. Single-layer cotton masks

The infectious droplets can travel to 16 feet if a person does not have a mask. This compared to 5 feet when particles leaked from the sides of a face mask isn’t something is better than nothing; therefore, while they might be the worst masks to wear, its better if one wears them.

The reason behind this sudden trend is reportedly after the death of Iran Revolutionary Guards commander Qasem Soleimani, who died in Baghdad.

Soleimani was killed in a drone strike which was reportedly done on the orders of United States President, Donald Trump “in a decisive defensive action to protect US personnel abroad,” the Pentagon said Thursday.

The attack came amid tensions with the United States after a New Year’s Eve attack by Iran-backed militias on the US Embassy in Baghdad.

Iran, on the other hand, has said that they will retaliate in a harsher manner.

Artist Proposes Currency Symbol for the Pakistani Rupee!

A total number of 8 countries use Rupee as its official currency, including Pakistan. However, only 2 of these 8 countries have a unique symbol for it.

Well-known Pakistani designer, artist, and traveler, Assam Artist has decided to propose his own symbol to represent our country’s Rupee.

The idea behind this design is so that the Pakistani Rupee can have its own identity in the markets, and around the world.

The symbol Assam proposed is a combination of Pakistan’s cultural heritage, rich history, and patriotism.

Assam explained that the Star and Crescent are the symbols of Pakistan and part of the Pakistani Flag. It represents the Muslim Community. He added;

I have merged the edges, curves, and lines of the crescent and star. I also took inspiration from gender and culture equality signs, which show that we are multi-cultural people of a nation with equal rights.

Hareem Shah Requests Pakistan Army for Security After Father’s Video Surfaces on Social Media

A video of Hareem Shah’s father, Zarrar Hussain, is going viral on social media. In the video, the man is heard apologizing to the country on behalf of his daughters.

However, as soon as the video hit the internet, Hareem Shah requested the Pakistan Army and forces to provide security to her family as they were being threatened.

In the video, Hussain says that he is embarrassed and ashamed of his daughter’s actions, and apologizes to everyone, including those who became a victim.

He further adds that he apologizes to his family and relatives and prays that Fizza Hussain Shah returns.

While shedding tears, he said:

I, Zarrar Hussain sHAH, I DONT HAVE ANY WORDS, FOR THOSE PEOPLE, RELATIVES, AND FRIENDS AND OVERALL ALL RESPECTIVE INDIVIDUALS, WHO HAVE BEEN IN SHOCK. I DO NOT HAVE WORDS, I CAN ONLY APOLOGIZE.

tHEY SAY THAT LIFE ITSELF GIVES YOU PUNISHMENT FOR SINS, MAYBE i HAVE HURT A POOR SOUL’S HEART,  i HURT MY FATHER AND MOTHER, FOR WHICH I AM BEING PUNISHED FOR.

On the other hand, Hareem Shah claims that her father was forced to record this video against his will.

It’s a common practice of the groom’s friends and family throwing money in the public, we often see that in the bride’s side too.

However, imagine a wedding where the groom’s brother brings a truck-load of cellphones and notes to distribute to the attendees?

One excited brother was filmed as he threw cellphones and cash towards the audience for at least half an hour during his brother’s wedding ceremony.

A large number of people outside the barat also gathered witnessing this unbelievable sight.

People gathered around the vehicle and pushed and shoved to get closer some were even seen climbing the truck to grab whatever their hands could.

Credit & Debit Cards Across Pakistan Will Stop Working in 2020!

Hundreds of thousands of credit and debit cards in Pakistan will stop working in 2020.

The reason behind this sudden and shocking move which has brought major inconvenience for ATM users is the State Bank of Pakistan’s (SBP) notice.

According to it, all banks have been directed to switch to Europay Mastercard Visa (EMV) compliant cards or Chip-based cards before the start of the new year.

This means that the cards which have a magnetic strip will no longer work nor be compliant.

SBP stated that customers who have still not received their Europay Mastercard Visa (EMV-Chip and PIN) cards can continue using their existing magnetic stripe cards till the time they have received and activated their new cards.

Many customers had to wait in a queue of hours before being able to connect with the concerned customer service representatives.

SBP is yet to extend the deadline for this process, which means the hassles will be pro-longed for the upcoming days.

This circular was issued in November 2018, and all banks were directed to make the switch by 30th June 2019. The deadline was later extended to 31st December 2019.

One of the major reasons for this switch has the HBL hacking incident causing losses worth Rs 10.2 million!
