Pakistanis and their love for mountains is a never-ending affair. A new feat has been achieved today and we couldn’t be prouder! A youngster has made a record as the youngest Pakistani.

The Youngest Pakistani on Mount Everest

A young man, Shehroze Kashif, has recently claimed the title of being the youngest Pakistani to summit Mount Everest. Kashif is only 19 years old which makes his victory an even greater achievement.

Shehroze Kashif’s Instagram has been keeping people up to date on his journey atop Mount Everest. Each mission of summiting a mountain consists of a proper routine whereby the mountaineer stops at several camps strategically. 

It is also reported that Kashif reached camp 3, the stop before the final summit, without oxygen! Only 1 day later the same account reported that Shehroze Kashif has summitted none other than the terrifying Mount Everest. His time of summit is noted as 5:02 AM Pakistani time which is equally fascinating and scary.

Imagine being at the peak of the highest mountain above sea level right when the sun is breaking out, we are sure there is no sight better than that. Kudos to Shehroze Kashif for following his dreams despite all odds!

His untimely death while summiting the Nanga Parbat invites attention to many challenges faced by mountaineers in Pakistan.

Firstly, there is obviously an extreme shortage of funds. Ali Sadpara was reported to fund many trips by himself or go as a guide along to earn money. Moreover, we still lack the availability of proper equipment needed. Whether Shehroze Kashif had to reach C3 without O2 due to this reason is still unclear but it is a possibility nonetheless.

AUDI Pakistan Signs MoU With BankIslami To Assemble Cars in Sindh

Germany’s premium and world’s second largest car makers, Audi has stepped into the Pakistani Automobile Industry by starting a feasibility study for assembling Audi cars in Pakistan.

The German auto giant is partnering with BankIslami Pakistan through the importer Premier Systems in order to launch the brand in the Pakistani market.

BankIslami Pakistan and premier Systems (Pvt) Ltd has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Audi’s general importer in Pakistan (Audi Pakistan).

In reference to the MoU, BankIslami will be providing a customized finance package to all the Audi cusotmer throughout the country through Islami Auto Ijarah, its flagship product.

This agreement will be facilitating both Audi Pakistan and BankIslami Pakistan to withdraw benefit from the strengths of each other’s wide network.

A memorandum of understanding (MoU) has been signed by AUDI AG; the Sindh Board of Investment and Mr. Martin Birkner of AUDI AG signed this MoU in the presence of Mr. Rainer Schmiedchen, Consul-General of Germany in Karachi and Mr. Arshad Raza of Premier Systems.

Leaked Documents, Big Reveals

Reports are also stating that certain documents from Adidas’ production process were revealed. They divulge that one of the company’s latest work-in-progress is their line of shoes themed after X-box consoled. It does not come as a surprise that they appear to have black, white, and neon green colors. Plus,  who can miss the feature of the Xbox logo prominently on the heel?

The cherry on top is that rumours suggest the shoes will come in green boxes with Xbox branding. As for how much they will break the bank… stay tuned for official news!

When are they releasing?

So far, it has been suggested that the first pair of shoes will be released in June. Right on time for the summer holidays right? The June release is also said to be a promotional version of Adidas’s new Forum Tech Boost style. It’s the best of both worlds.

However, Imran Abbas interpreted it literally and kissed his mother’s feet on Mother’s day. While there is nothing wrong with the act itself, the problem is with the broadcasting and association.

When Imran Abbas kisses his mother’s feet and associates it with the aforementioned belief, he encourages a literal interpretation. That is problematic also because Muslims are also not allowed to prostrate before anyone else. Only Allah. 

Moreover, netizens are confused and irritated at why he must broadcast it. He can totally express his love for his mother but doing something so personal only for social media is questionable.

Take a step back if you are ever faced with this app. It’s name may be welcoming but its content and policies radiate the opposite!

3. oVPNSpider:

While this VPN may not be as blatant as the other two, it has its own risks. A risk assessment revealed DNS leaks within the application. This is a security flaw which exposes your browser traffic to your ISP. What is the use of the VPN if this happens? The ISP will block the site again! It has also been noted that oVPNSpider tested positive for Malware and Adware. As cool as the name of the VPN may sound, it is better to avoid it!

4. proXPN VPN:

While this VPN app offers unlimited data transfer and connection time, it has has its dangerous underbelly. This VPN is based out of US. It can be said that any VPN out of US, UK, Canada, Australia and New Zealand, should be avoided. They openly use user data to maintain their own systems and gain inside information, allegedly.

These VPN Apps are definitely trying to attain your information in one way or another. If you ever come across any of these names, it is better to steer clear of them.

Dr. Sethna Passed Away In Karachi Leaving Behind A Legacy

Faridoon Sethna, one of Karachi’s most famous gynecologists passed away on 8th May, 2021.

His funeral prayers were held at 9 am on Sunday at 8th Mary Road, Bath Island in Karachi, according to the Setna family.

“In light of the prevailing Covid pandemic, the arrangements will be for the family and close friends only, but we will deeply appreciate your prayers”, the family shared.

About Dr. Sethna 

Dr. Sethna was a graduate of Dow Medical College and a fellow of the Royal College of Obstetricians and Gynaecologists. He spent all his life rebuilding Lady Dufferin Hospital (LDH) in the Kharadar area and treated poor patients from old Karachi. He was also the medical director of the Concept Fertility Centre in Clifton and actively treated patients.

At the LDH, Dr. Sethna was also teaching and training post-graduate students in obstetrics and gynecology. He used to participate in numerous international and national scientific meetings and conferences. He took a keen interest in philanthropic activities, too.

His achievement also included infertility treatment and he developed this technique at a center in Karachi. He was also former Prime Minister, Benazir Bhutto’s obstetrician.

Sitara-e-Imtiaz Holder 

His achievements landed him a Sitara-e-Imtiaz for his contributions to the field of maternal medicine in Pakistan. He worked as an obstetrician for over 50 years and was known for dealing with high-risk obstetrics, complex gynecological problems, and infertility treatments. He was one of the most experienced practitioners in Pakistan in infertility and helped hundreds of couples conceive through IVF.

“Dr. Sethna was a great mentor to countless gynecologists. He believed in women’s empowerment and staunchly supported the role of midwives and the cause to provide the best care to pregnant women,” recalled Dr. Sherhshah Syed, former president of the Society of Obstetrician and Gynaecologists Pakistan (SOGP).

“Dr. Sethna was behind the LDH’s modernization. He was able to convince the late Ardeshir Cowasjee to support him in building a midwifery school at the hospital,” Dr. Syed said, adding that he was also an ardent art lover and reader.
