When Meta, the parent company of tech giants Facebook, Instagram, and WhatsApp, unveiled Threads, its competitor to Twitter, about six weeks ago, it was hailed as the “first real risk to [Elon] Musk’s Twitter empire.” For the first time since Elon Musk’s takeover of Twitter in October 2022, there appeared to be a well-funded rival on the horizon. Threads made a monumental splash by quickly amassing 100 million sign-ups, earning the distinction of being the fastest downloaded app in history.
A Promising Start with a Steep Decline
However, despite its impressive initial download numbers, Threads has encountered significant challenges in retaining users. Notably, its user base in the United States has plummeted by a staggering 79 percent from its peak of 2.3 million users in early July, according to data from web analytics firm Similarweb.
The question that lingers is: what went wrong?
Source: Android Authority
“I think there’s a question mark over how appealing and engaging a text-based social network is in 2023,” suggests social media expert Matt Navarra. Yet, the more profound challenge Threads faced was defining its purpose beyond offering refuge to disenchanted Twitter users. Navarra elaborates, “I just don’t think it has an obvious role or purpose and identity in the social media ecosystem. I think a lack of identity and purpose is an issue for them.”
A Rushed Release and Mediocrity
Part of this identity crisis could be attributed to Threads’ seemingly hurried release. Mark Zuckerberg, the CEO of Meta, announced the app in early July, seemingly to capitalize on Twitter’s challenges. Since then, Meta has been scrambling to add features to retain users—a bit like building a plane while it’s already in the air.
Navarra highlights another critical factor contributing to the app’s struggle: mediocrity. He asserts, “I think it doesn’t do anything excellently. It does a few small things okay. The main thing that people wanted it to do was to be the big Twitter alternative, and I don’t think it does that to a good enough level to pull people in.”
Challenges in User Engagement and Design
Once users are on Threads, keeping them engaged becomes an uphill battle, partly due to the app’s functionality and design. Harry Dyer, a digital sociologist at the University of East Anglia, comments, “It’s a tiring place to find anything out, or to get a sense of what users are talking about.” Unlike platforms like Twitter, where trending topics guide discussions, Threads seems to host disconnected conversations without a clear overarching theme.
A Victim of Its Own Success
Tama Leaver, a professor in internet studies at Curtin University, suggests that Threads’ initial success may have undermined its potential. He explains, “In the very short term, Threads is the victim of its own success. Reaching astronomical sign-up numbers within weeks made Threads look like the next superstar platform, but it was just a sign that the social media landscape is fracturing.”
Source: Kinzoo
Additionally, the lack of features discouraged users who initially tried the app but left when they realized it couldn’t replace Twitter. Leaver points out, “For those searching for the next Twitter, the lack of searchability, especially the lack of hashtags to organize and cohere community and topical conversations, means Threads is actually pretty hard to use.”
The Path Forward for Threads
The critical question now is whether Threads can recover. Leaver believes that Meta, with its deep pockets, is one of the few companies that can regain users who initially tested Threads and left. However, this will require substantial investment and time. “The real tests for Threads are future longevity and whether Mark Zuckerberg has the deep pockets to play the long game on that front,” concludes Leaver.
Threads experienced a meteoric rise as the fastest downloaded app in history, but its rapid decline in user engagement has raised questions about its long-term viability in the competitive social media landscape. Whether it can regain its momentum and establish a clear identity remains to be seen.

Pakistani actress, Shagufta Ejaz, recently got candid about her battle with fibroids on her YouTube channel.
Shagufta also provided insights into her initial discovery of the condition and the subsequent developments as she drove to the hospital, recounting how her daughter had insisted on her getting a pap smear test done.
“You must have had this test for 4 to 5 times,” the actress quoted her daughter, adding that it was after these tests that she was compelled to undergo an MRI to know exactly how enlarged are the fibroids now.
Check out her vlog
The doctor reassured her that there was “nothing to worry” about regarding the condition.
However, the response from her fans was somewhat unexpected.
While most fans responded warmly, others were not impressed with her opening up about her battle with a disease “so common”.
Shagufta Ejaz is no stranger to criticism when it comes to being open about her life. She faced substantial backlash for sharing her experience with Botox in the past.
Interestingly, despite the public’s demand for celebrities to be authentic, the response remains the same, even when some of them choose to be genuine.
The war that rages on between Apple and Samsung has been a long standing one. It continues throughout various products and services. Be it earphones or smartphones, the battle is fierce. There is no clear Victor overall in this war but there are separate battles.
There are always points on each side that triumph over the other one. When it comes to iPhone and Android, the scars deepen and the field gets darker. Today, we explore what it is that iPhones can do that Android cannot. What gives iPhone the edge?
1. Airdrop:
This is one of the most prime sharing features of iPhones. It allows iPhone users to share files in an instant. There is a specific amount of storage that comes with every iPhone. Be it video files, photos or music, Airdrop is the prime sharing tool for iPhones.
Android smartphones have no such feature and their battle here is a losing one! iPhone takes the cake on this front over Android.

2. Password Sharing:
Imagine you are at a guest’s house or vice versa. It takes an awful lot of time to get the password numbers and alphabets right. Often times, the whole password is correct but you don’t remember the last alphabet. iPhone password sharing eliminates that entire factor.
Simple bring your iPhone near to the other iPhone user. Then, a prompt will be sent to the second person to accept a request. Upon accepting, the password will be displayed and the second iPhone can be connected.
3. Offload:
It is remarkable how iPhones are able to work without ever hanging. Even with 1-2GB ram, the phones can handle a substantial amount of processes. There are mainly two reasons for this. The first is that iPhones use Risc Architecture where Android uses Cisc Architecture. The reduced version allows the phone for greater operation but with simplicity.
Secondly, the offload feature of the iPhone keeps it from getting cluttered or over heating. It is a process that quietly runs in the background and keeps clearing or removing unnecessary files. Even when the phone is in use, it’s running without the user Knowing. Take that Android!
4. Old to New iPhones:
It can often be a huge hassle when you get a new device and have to transfer from the old one. Many times a lot of data is lost. Sometimes photos are misplaced or contacts are left behind. There are so many issues in transfer that it often leaves users scratching their heads.
iPhone has this particular feature where it allows seconds for data to transfer. This particular feature is not entirely Integrated in Android phones and is slower than IOS.
5. iMessage:
This particular iPhone feature is like blackberry. Blackberry used to have its most robust feature called BBM. It was the blackberry messenger that made the company what it was. iPhone’s iMessage offers a variant form of messaging on it. This means that you can access your texts and messages on every device you own. Provided that the device is an apple product.

So, the next time you wish to answer from your iPad because the phone is on charge, feel free to do so. Android, however, holds no similar feature. If you texted from the phone, you are bound to use the phone to access the texts every time.

Did an Indian movie recently secure a spot in Pakistani cinemas? It surely did. “Buhe Bariyan” premiered in cinemas on September 15th, and that raises questions about what it means for Pakistani cinema, local productions, the audience, and, of course, the enduring tensions between India and Pakistan.
Notably, “Buhe Bariyan” is not the typical star-studded Bollywood film fanatics would spend a fortune on (including those irresistibly crisp buttered popcorn and large drinks since we can’t imagine entering the theater without them). But, by the look of its trailer, the movie doesn’t seem to pose a threat to Pakistan’s dignity and appears free of the politically-sensitive aspects that have become evident in Bollywood.

If you ask someone about the pros and cons of screening Indian movies in Pakistan, they can easily count some on their fingertips. So, let’s just do a quick risk assessment and see who outweighs what.
Pros and Cons of Screening Indian Movies in Pakistan
Diverse Content:
Indians and Pakistanis have lived through similar challenges emotionally and economically. If nothing, Bollywood did offer inspiration for resilience through its films. And before making a comeback in recent times, Pakistan’s own movie scene went through a rough patch, and that’s precisely why Pakistanis had such a strong connection with Bollywood.
This bond was something that passed down from one generation to the next. We may have all the genres with Christopher Nolan’s “Oppenheimer”, Greta Gerwig’s “Barbie”, Ryan Murphy’s “Eat, Pray, Love,” and Tim Miller’s “Deadpool”. The list goes on. But Bollywood feels like home—or at least it did.
However, as of now, we can only wait and see what happens after Modi’s tenure ends in May 2024.
Harmony:
For years, it didn’t matter what was happening in politics whenever Pakistanis watched a Bollywood flick. It felt like a warm and familiar embrace. Bollywood never felt foreign, and it stayed that way even during those never-ending India-Pakistan tensions.
We got to see the soft side of Indians and how human they can be. But if we try and not look through rose-tinted glasses—wasn’t the purpose of a theatrical release to entertain and profit?
Why would a filmmaker in their right mind depict hatred for a nation they can make money from. Apart from a few exceptions like “Haqeeqat” (1964), “Border” (1997), “Gadar: Ek Prem Katha” (2001), “Phantom” (2015), and “Uri: The Surgical Strike” (2019), the ratio between pure entertainment and anti-Pakistan films has been heavily skewed.
Courtesy: Zee5
Cultural Exchange:
Good or bad, the cultural exchange has been there since forever. But the Indian content we see nowadays is significantly diluted with European and American filmmaking concepts or inspired by Pakistani music, like Pasoori for instance. On top of that, the newer generation might not hold the same affinity for Bollywood, especially not for star kids, and may be less receptive to Hindu-centric narratives as well.

Censorship Issues:
Content in Indian films may face censorship in Pakistan if it’s seen as offensive and that can sometimes stir up conflicts— which could’ve been the case if Barbie were Indian.

The Economic Challenges with Screening Indian movies in Pakistan:
While it would be profitable for cinema owners, it may adversely affect local filmmakers. Pakistani movies seldomly perform well in our own country and the industry definitely has to do more to thrive if the cinemas normalise Indian movies, potentially stunting the growth of the domestic film industry.
Here’s another way to understand this
With that said, whose growth should we prioritise—people and cinemas or the filmmakers?
Will our creativity falter?
The Pakistani film industry has ample room for growth, with or without Indian films. A diverse range of films, including Indian and Pakistani productions, can offer audiences more choices and experiences.
One way to look at it is by seeing the kind of content Pakistani filmmakers made when Bollywood movies were accessible in cinemas and how different has it been after the boycott.
So, without a real competition, will the domestic film industry get too comfortable and instead fill the void by recreating Bollywood energy? Or will there still be more cause-based movies like Bol and Khuda Kay Liye?
A fair exchange would’ve been nice though…
The fact that Pakistani movies are not running in Indian cinemas is a topic for another day. For now, a comment on an online knowledge market, Quora, might give you good insight on that.
Is it also a test of patriotism?
Screening Indian films in Pakistan can be politically sensitive, especially during periods of heightened tension between the two countries. It may be seen as normalization or support for the Indian film industry. Prior to the ban, there were instances of protests and calls for boycotts of Indian films by certain groups or individuals in Pakistan, leading to disruptions in film screenings.
Certainly, a population of 241 million has to be on the same page for a move like that. Even a movie like Maula Jatt faced restrictions over ownership rights and pricing.
With that said, do the cons of airing Indian movies in Pakistan offset the benefits?

In a world where smartphone photography has become an integral part of our daily lives, Samsung’s groundbreaking 200MP camera sensor technology is setting new standards. With the world’s first 200MP camera sensor, Samsung is redefining smartphone photography capabilities, offering a glimpse into the future of mobile imaging.
A Milestone Achievement: The 200MP Sensor
Samsung’s journey into the realm of high-resolution mobile photography began with the unveiling of the 200MP camera sensor. This technological marvel has quickly made its way into several smartphones, including the much-loved Galaxy S23 Ultra. However, what sets this sensor apart is not just its jaw-dropping pixel count but its versatility.
From Primary to Telephoto
Source: GSM Arena
The latest announcement from Samsung has opened up new possibilities for smartphone photography enthusiasts. The company has revealed that its 200MP camera sensors, including the ISOCELL HP2 and the ISOCELL HP3, can also serve as telephoto cameras. This development marks a significant shift in how these sensors can be utilized, enhancing the overall photography experience.
Samsung has outlined two distinct approaches to utilizing 200MP sensors as telephoto cameras. Firstly, in-sensor crop technology allows smartphones, especially those designed to be thin or budget-friendly, to maximize the potential of a 200MP sensor. This mechanism provides a seamless way to achieve up to 4x optical zoom-like image quality directly from the primary camera, eliminating the need for additional lenses.
Elevating Portrait Photography
The 200MP ISOCELL cameras are also well-suited for capturing portrait images at 2x or 3x zoom levels. This capability provides a substantial amount of natural bokeh and sharp details, thanks to the in-sensor crop zooming feature. It surpasses the performance of wide-angle primary cameras in capturing portrait images, ensuring less distortion and improved image quality in its in-sensor crop zoom mode.
A Game-Changer for High-End Smartphones
For high-end smartphones, the integration of a 200MP ISOCELL camera alongside an optical zoom lens promises an unprecedented level of detail and zooming capabilities. The ISOCELL HP2 and the ISOCELL HP3, boasting sensor sizes of 1/1.3-inch and 1/1.4-inch respectively, offer a substantial advantage over typical telephoto cameras found in current high-end phones. With a 5x optical zoom lens, the 200MP ISOCELL camera can deliver even more impressive image quality.
Source: Digital Trends
Beyond photography, these sensors also shine in the realm of videography. They can capture videos at up to 4K 120fps or 8K 30fps, a feat unmatched by most telephoto camera sensors on other smartphones. This versatility positions the 200MP ISOCELL cameras as a formidable choice for content creators and mobile videographers.
The Competition Heats Up
As rumors swirl about Vivo’s upcoming flagship, the Vivo X100 Pro, potentially featuring a 200MP telephoto camera with 5x optical zoom, the competition in the smartphone photography arena is intensifying. However, Samsung has remained tight-lipped about implementing a 200MP camera sensor for the telephoto camera in the Galaxy S24 Ultra. If the speculations hold true, Samsung may face fierce competition from other brands in the race for the zoom camera crown next year.
Samsung’s innovative 200MP camera sensors are undeniably changing the game in smartphone photography. With their adaptability and impressive image quality, they offer a tantalizing glimpse into the future of mobile imaging. As manufacturers continue to push the boundaries of what smartphones can achieve, the stage is set for an exciting era of mobile photography and videography.

The Threat Assessment Committee of Sindh, presided over by the province’s caretaker Home Minister. Haris Nawaz, recently made a critical decision that marks a pivotal shift in security priorities. In a bid to address the escalating security concerns, the committee opted to withdraw excessive police forces previously assigned to the security and protocol of VIPs. This significant move signifies a reorientation of resources towards a comprehensive operation aimed at combating criminal activities in the region.
Assessing the Threat Landscape
The primary objective of the committee’s meeting was to assess the current security threats that prominent individuals and vital locations within Sindh are facing. After thorough evaluation, a unanimous decision emerged which was the need to reduce surplus security deployments linked to VIPs. This shift reflects a commitment to elevate public safety and tackle the pressing security issues that have been plaguing the province.
Source: the Nation
To execute this security realignment effectively, divisional threat assessment committees, each led by a respective commissioner, have been entrusted with the responsibility of reassessing security measures for individuals facing threats. This decentralized approach ensures that security resources are deployed where they are most needed; avoiding over-concentration on VIP security.
Launching a Comprehensive Anti-Crime Operation
A significant facet discussed during the meeting was the initiation of a ‘grand’ operation geared towards addressing a multitude of criminal elements within Sindh. This operation is designed to combat street criminals, drug dealers, illegal immigrants, and smugglers who have been operating with impunity. The urgency of this endeavor is underscored by the authorities with a strict mandate to eliminate criminal elements within a demanding two-month timeframe.
A Strong Law Enforcement Coalition
During a subsequent visit to the Shikarpur Kutcha area, Home Minister Nawaz reinforced the government’s resolute commitment to tackling criminal activities head-on. He emphasized that individuals involved in robberies and kidnappings would face unwavering action from law enforcement agencies. Moreover, Minister Nawaz announced the active participation of the Pakistan Army, Rangers, and Punjab Police in this operation; emphasizing the severity of the security situation.
Source: Al jazeera
In a bid to bolster the morale of the dedicated personnel involved in this comprehensive anti-crime initiative, an additional allowance of Rs. 10,000 will be extended to police personnel serving in Kutcha areas. This financial incentive serves as a testament to the caretaker government’s unwavering determination to create crime-free zones during its tenure.
An Appeal for Surrender and Legal Compliance
Minister Nawaz concluded his address with an earnest plea to individuals engaged in criminal activities. He urged them to surrender and abide by the law, assuring that the government would adhere to legal procedures and offer concessions to those who come forward. He underlined the importance of considering the future of their children when making this pivotal decision.
Sindh’s recalibration of its security strategy signifies a bold and proactive response to mounting security challenges. By redirecting security resources and launching a targeted operation against criminal elements, the province is taking significant strides toward safeguarding its residents and upholding the rule of law. This move exemplifies the government’s unwavering commitment to protecting its citizens from the threats posed by criminal activities.

In 1888, George Eastman established ‘The Eastman Kodak Company,’ which later became known as Kodak. Throughout the 20th century, Kodak held a renowned status in the realms of photography and videography, instigating a significant transformation in these industries.
Kodak played a pivotal role in democratizing camera access, making portable and cost-effective equipment accessible to households, at a time when such technology was primarily the domain of large corporations.
Kodak’s Failure
Kodak held unparalleled dominance in its industry throughout the vast majority of the 20th century. However, a sequence of ill-fated choices ultimately led to its downfall. In 2012, the company filed for bankruptcy. What were the underlying reasons for Kodak’s bankruptcy? How did the once-mighty titan of photography and videography succumb to failure despite its status as a household name during its era of prominence?
The bankruptcy filing in January 2012 was carried out under Chapter 11, with the primary objective being the continuation of Kodak’s operations and the pursuit of a strategic restructuring. A pivotal component of this restructuring strategy involved the sale of the company’s substantial digital imaging patent portfolio, totaling around 1,100 patents.
Kodak strategically leveraged these patents to secure a significant line of credit amounting to $965 million, thereby ensuring its ability to sustain its ongoing operations. The company’s downfall can be attributed to several key factors.
Resistance to Digital Transformation
Kodak’s reluctance to fully embrace digital photography and its prolonged attachment to traditional film and print businesses hindered its ability to adapt to the digital age.
Missed Opportunities
The company failed to seize opportunities presented by digital technology, neglecting to pivot its business model towards digital products and services.
Intense Competition
Fierce competition from companies like Canon and Nikon, which excelled in digital camera innovation, eroded Kodak’s market dominance.
Patent Battles
Despite holding valuable digital imaging patents, Kodak struggled to monetize them effectively and resorted to costly patent litigation.
Heavy Debt Burden
Kodak carried a substantial debt load, hindering its ability to invest in new technologies and navigate industry transformations.
Declining Film Demand
The advent of digital photography led to a sharp drop in demand for traditional film, impacting one of Kodak’s core revenue sources.
Innovation Stagnation
Kodak’s focus on traditional film and chemical products limited its capacity to innovate and adapt to changing consumer preferences.
At present, Kodak has diversified its offerings to encompass packaging, functional printing, graphic communications, and professional services, catering to businesses on a global scale. While the company was traditionally renowned for its camera manufacturing, it made a notable shift into the pharmaceutical sector and secured a substantial $765 million (£592 million) loan from the U.S. government in 2020 to support its endeavors in this new domain.

Karachi: 19th September, 2023 – Dawlance is the leading producer of home appliances in Pakistan, which uses environmentally safe refrigerant gas – R 32, in its products, to reduce emissions and avoid the depletion of the Ozone layer – a fragile shield of gas, protecting the Earth from the harmful rays of the sun. With a vision to reduce the unsafe disposal of these gases in the air, the ‘United Nations Industrial Development Organization’ (UNIDO) has recently provided special equipment to Dawlance, for recycling the R-32 refrigerant.
A vibrant ceremony was recently held at an event in Islamabad where the recycling equipment was handed over. The Chief Marketing Officer of Dawlance – Syed Hasan Jameel addressed the event and said: “As a socially responsible enterprise, we understand the critical importance of using Planet-friendly refrigerants and recycling the gasses safely and responsibly, to preserve the ozone layer”
This environmental initiative clearly reflects Dawlance’s policy: “Progress today, Preserve tomorrow”, as it promises long-term sustainability and a healthy future for humanity. UNIDO has provided Dawlance with 100 gas-recovery units that will be utilized all over Pakistan, besides committing to provide training to 1000 technicians and installers for safe handling of the R-32 refrigerant.
Dawlance will recycle and reuse the R-32 refrigerant, which is recognized for its minimal impact on the environment and is based on more advanced technologies. NOU Ministry of Climate Change presented Dawlance with an ‘Ozone & Environmental-Friendly Technology Award’ for shifting to R-32 refrigerant. Other conventional industries must also take inspiration from this initiative, to ensure the safety and well-being of the environment and the protection of the ozone layer.
Dawlance aims to reduce these ‘Green-House Gas’ emissions and discharge of Carbon Dioxide, by nearly 5000 kg 275 metric tons. It will also reclaim, reprocess, and reuse the R-32 refrigerants, to reduce the need for producing these harmful gases. With this initiative starting from base year 2018, the SBTi – ‘2°C scenario’ aims for a 15% reduction in GHG emissions by 2030, while the ‘1.5°C scenario’ aims for a 50% reduction in GHG emissions by 2030. Specifically, the emissions caused by the use of solid products.
This two-pronged strategy is a pioneering effort by Dawlance, while it is also creating public awareness about the harmful effects of releasing refrigerant into the atmosphere. Dawlance is also adopting other global best practices to ensure socioeconomic growth in a sustainable manner.
Pakistan’s cricket sensation, Shaheen Shah Afridi, and Ansha Afridi, the daughter of sports star Shahid Afridi, sealed their commitment to each other in a grand wedding ceremony held in vibrant Karachi on Tuesday evening.
This union was the culmination of a journey that began earlier this year with an intimate nikkah ceremony on February 3rd, where the couple exchanged their sacred vows in the presence of close family and friends.
Among the esteemed guests who graced the occasion was none other than the captain of the Pakistani cricket team, Babar Azam. Social media was abuzz with heartwarming videos capturing the skipper’s warm embrace of the talented fast bowler, Shaheen Shah Afridi. Azam extended his heartfelt congratulations to the newlyweds through a touching post on the popular social media platform, X.
However, the comments on Babar Azam’s post have also been restricted to avoid further public speculations.
Prior to the wedding festivities, Shaheen Shah Afridi shared a cherished moment with Captain Azam. The snapshot depicted both cricketers seated side by side, with Shaheen captioning it simply as “family,” a testament to the close-knit bonds forged in the world of cricket.
What came off as interesting was the timeliness of the post which hinted that Shaheen Afridi must have felt some sort of pressure to prioritise his professional standing over his wedding as the social media post came four hours before the wedding nuptials, while he still hasn’t shared a glimpse from his own wedding. The controversy began as the young Afridi was anticipating the role of captaincy for himself.
Following this solemn moment, a splendid reception was hosted for the newlyweds at the prestigious DHA Golf and Country Club, Karachi. The event saw the presence of some esteemed members of the national cricket team, who joined in Shaheen and Ansha at the nuptials.
This wedding celebration is one among many that have graced the cricketing world this year. Earlier in January, Shadab Khan announced his own nikkah ceremony, urging fans and well-wishers to respect the privacy of his family and his beloved wife while sending their prayers and love.
Earlier, Shan Masood tied the knot with Nische Khan in a splended ceremony in Peshawar in January. Meanwhile, Haris Rauf also embarked on his marital journey with Muzna Masood Malik in a daytime nikah ceremony held in the heart of Islamabad in December.

Amidst the soaring inflation and lack of employment opportunities, even the most qualified individuals have to resort to extreme measures. In a recent instance, the former Vice Chancellor of Bahauddin Zakariya University has started working as an auto driver.
Retirement & Inflation
Mansoor Akbar Kundi who has previously serving in the said university had to retire due to his employment tenure ending. In a recent video going viral on social media, he was seen driving an auto. While talking to the cameraman, he mentioned that the University of Balochistan doesn’t pay pensions to its retired educators.
While talking to the cameraman, he further compared the amount required to buy an auto in current economic condition to when he was a school-going kid. It turned out that the difference has become humongous no matter the level of essential goods and services.
As inflation rises and job opportunities remain scarce, people are forced to find alternative ways to maintain their basic living standards and manage the increasing costs of utilities.
Retirement & Life Plans
For those planning for retirement, inflation can be a significant concern. The cost of living during retirement may be much higher than anticipated if inflation rates are high, potentially affecting the quality of life for retirees.
Inflation can be especially problematic for retirees because they typically live on a fixed income for an extended period. With increasing life expectancy, retirees face the risk that their savings and pensions may not be sufficient to cover their needs over a longer retirement period. Meanwhile, in instances where no pension is provided to the retirees, it becomes extremely critical for them to survive for their necessary means.
Mother nature is one powerful entity. She has the capability to wipe out civilizations and plant new ones. When the trees are being cut, it is mother nature who feels the pain. In retaliation, she hits us with dangerous levels of global warming.
So, in the 21st century, what can we do to make our time here, on Earth, less destructive? The technology is advancing either ways, so we should use products which don’t harm the environment. Thus, Eco-Friendly products come to mind. So, what are some of the eco-friendly tech products which are worth investing in?
1. Hydropanels:
We already know what Solar Panels are. They draw energy from the Sun and convert it to usable electrical energy. The cells on the panel absorb and generate DC. That current is then sent through an inverter to produce AC for home use. Similarly, what are hydropanels? The name hints towards a use of water, does it not? Hydropanels use technology to produce a specific amount of heat to condense and collect water from the atmosphere.
These can be extremely useful in areas where humidity is common. If there is less humidity, they can introduce such a factor as to condense the water in the atmosphere. This product is extremely eco-friendly as it employs renewable energy and is worth a gander at!

2. Nature’s Earphones:
Imagine listening to nature sounds on your earphones. The sound of the wind blowing, the trees rustling are all part of the ultimate experience. What about when your earphones are made of the same material as nature. Yes, wooden earphones are a thing. They employ the use of Wood and Aluminum (Both recycled) in a sleek comfortable design. It does not compromise the earphones quality, rather when they break, they can be easily disposed of.
This is much more eco-friendly in comparison to the normal earphones. This is because a lot of those Earphones have non biodegradable components in them! Check out this eco-friendly tech product and why it’s worth an investment.
t3. Smart Leak Sensor:
Statistics state that an enormous amount of water is wasted in homes and domestic usage. To prevent that, humans have come up with some extremely ingenious ways. They’ve invented washing machines that consume and recycle water. They gave also come up with Toilets which draw less water than needed. Even then, a substantial amount of water is wasted in homes due to unchecked leaks.
They are unchecked because no one knows exactly where the leak is until a wall is ruined or a panel is short circuited. The Smart Leak Sensor detects leaks in a specific area of the house and let’s the user know where to fix. This is extremely eco-friendly and is only helping to save water.

4. Solar Chargers:
Charging is an essential part of using technology. There has to be a way to repower it so it can last a longer time. Solar chargers make the use of sunlight to produce ample watts and they work similar to solar panels but on a much smaller scale.
The sunlight absorbed is used to produce around 21 watts and approximately 2.1 amperes of current. Most Smartphones are able to charge at 1 or 2.1. With the 2.1, however, charging is much faster. This makes this Eco-Friendly Tech product efficient to use.
5. AA Battery Charger:
Remember the time you used to smack the TV remote because your AA+ cells have run out? Is it not extra work to go out and fetch a new pair of cells every time? The Double AA Charger removes the need to get new cells every time the old ones run out. It allows the cells to charge again and be reused for the same amount of time. This even reduces cost of buying and keeps the environment clean of discarded cells liable to leak or explode.
However, we must take it upon ourselves to warn you that the charger only uses ‘Rechargeable Double A’ cells. If you attempt to use regular cells, they may explode and cause injury. Stay safe!

The Islamabad High Court has retracted the ban on the highly acclaimed drama serial ‘Hadsa’. The decision was granted after the drama was banned on August 30th on account of complaints made by the public and the victim of the motorway incident.
According to the attorney of the Media Regulatory Authority, the television series’ storyline was deemed extremely inappropriate and unsettling and was said to depict a negative portrayal of Pakistani citizens.
PEMRA’s Lifts Ban On ‘Hadsa’
After deliberating on the arguments, the IHC judge decided to lift the ban and, in doing so, asked the producers for their assurance that they would not broadcast the scene that had raised concerns. The High Court also noted, “The challenged order issued on 30.08.2023 by Pemra has been temporarily halted in accordance with legal precedent.”
“The impugned order dated 30.08.2023, passed by Pemra has been suspended in the light of case law”. It further said, “Only the objectionable part should be prohibited from being broadcasted and directed to be suitably modified, and the broadcast or rebroadcast of the complete play or drama must not be prohibited”.
Actress Hadiqa Kiani, who portrays the character of Taskeen in the drama serial, broke the news on her Instagram story and wrote:
‘The honorable IHC has allowed our fictional character Taskeen, to tell her inspirational story of getting justice for herself and all other survivors like her. Taskeen’s story is about how she became a survivor instead of a victim in an absolute struggle for justice. We are grateful that the viewers will get to see the story in its entirety.’ Concluded the actress in her post.
Meanwhile, social media users express discontent with the revival of the drama series “Hadsa.” They disagree with the court’s decision and argue that the show should never air, fearing it would cause further pain to real-life victims. Some users are skeptical of the producers’ intentions, believing they are prioritizing their project over other considerations.
