Brett Lee to Imitate Salman Khan’s Dance Moves in Upcoming Movie ‘UnIndian’

Australian cricket legend Brett Lee is all set to star in the movie UnIndian along with Tannistha Chatterjee. The sportsman will don a desi avatar for the movie and will be even impersonating Salman Khan’s dance moves in the movie.

The English-language film movie will unfold the tale of cultural woes that Australian Will (Lee) and Indian Meera (Tannishtha Chatterjee) will encounter as they fall in love in Sydney.

About entering the world of acting, Bret Lee is very enthusiastic and is surely looking forward to it the new feat.

“The person you see on the cricket field playing is different. I have been a movie buff, I have loved watching blockbuster films. And now I had the chance to act in a film and I was excited about it,” said Lee.

Interestingly enough, the former cricket icon will be romancing his co-star while mimicking Salman Khan’s look and dance moves from Kick’s song Jumme Ki Raat.

In the scene prior to the song, he will appear to be so absorbed in the film while watching it that he starts imagining himself in the place of Salman Khan. The said song is titled Hey Babby.

“When I approached Sajid Nadiadwala for this song, he said, “I’m happy to give a song of my directorial debut for your first film,” said Anupam Sharma, the director responsible for the Australian filming.

Directed by Anupam Sharma, UnIndian is slated to release on August 19.

We’ll just have to wait and watch how UnIndian can Brett Lee act.

Traffic Educational Park Opens in Faisalabad for Road Safety Awareness

Recently, the country’s first Traffic Educational Park was constructed at the University of Education campus in Faisalabad.

One of the major causes of death is cited as road traffic injuries which, according to World Health Organization, were one of the leading causes of death in 2012, claiming nearly 3500 lives each day.

For a country like Pakistan where the majority of the deaths are usually cited as natural or accidental, traffic accidents and car crashes are amongst the top most!

According to the Faisalabad Chief Traffic Officer, Arif Shahbaz Khan, the park features information regarding zebra crossing, traffic lane discipline, and safety gadgets, with a lot of emphasis being put on technology.

“Boys like to show off and perform stunts on motorcycles…there has been a corresponding rise in the number of road accidents”, he said

According to the numbers, these motorcycle stunts have gone down since the traffic police has started arresting them.

2017 Toyota Corolla Facelift Might Make An Appearance in Pakistan

For the CTO, prevention of road-related injuries and basic education of road skills is at the top of the list, at the moment.

“We realised there was a crucial need to raise awareness about traffic rules…precious lives can be saved,” Khan said. “Since most of the road accidents occur due to drivers not being aware of basic traffic rules,” he added.

Traffic awareness is a subject that is not deemed important at all and therefore, a step taken by the Faisalabad Traffic Police might go a long way in preventing injuries.

The city traffic police have also launched an information desk to guide motorists regarding traffic flow and jams in the city. Various sessions targeted at road safety education have been opened in around 30 universities and schools across the city.

2017 Toyota Corolla Facelift Might Make An Appearance in Pakistan

The 11th generation Toyota Corolla was launched a couple of years back and became a top seller in both the local and international market. Honda Atlas, on the other hand, recently launched its new Civic 2016,  pushing Toyota to facelift its high-on-demand car as the 2017 Toyota Corolla.

This was not only because Honda has been a competitor for years, but the new Civic was a surprise package –a car never-before launched by Honda. As soon as the news of new Honda Civic 2016 surfaced, Toyota started working on the facelift of its 11th generation Corolla and transformed it into the 2017 Toyota Corolla.

Before it was showcased in both Turkey and Russia, the facelift images were leaked in March earlier this year.

2016-Toyota-Corolla-facelift.Brandsynario

The Corolla is similar to the two-year-old model but way different than its previous models. The front has been redesigned with even more slim headlights going till the mid of the front fenders.

Toyota Ranks No.1 Globally: Sold 10.15 Million Cars in 2015

A new bumper boasting a sporty look has replaced the old one. However, the rear has not been altered much except a new pair of LED tail lamps. The dashboard and rest of the layout of the car are similar to the ongoing Corolla model.

2017-Toyota-Corolla-facelift-Back.Brandsynario

Now, there is still a question mark on the official release of the Toyota Corolla facelift for 2017 in Pakistan. It is possible that Indus Motors can ignore the facelift and continue with their current Corolla until the next-generation model is launched.

This seems to be a probable solution as an old-modeled vehicle is still being sold and purchased in and from the market, whether it may be a  Suzuki Mehran or 5th generation Honda City.

Even if the idea of the 2017 Corolla’s facelift is dropped, it won’t hurt the carmaker Corolla’s position as the top seller is not going away anytime soon. It is Corolla’s sale power that has made Toyota the world’s leading carmaker in compact cars.

Toyota Corolla Altis Grande Vs Honda Civic i-VTEC Oriel Review: Price, Specs & Features

However, for market positioning with a new variant or being direct in competition with Honda, Toyota Indus Motors can decide to bring the facelift, to earn some points. It was very successful with the 2014 Corolla model and the facelift.

But, it will increase 3-5 month time duration to deliver it to the customer depending on the variant and the delivery region. If Toyota goes with the latter option, then the 2017 Toyota Corolla Facelift will make an appearance in Pakistan even sooner.

Sea World Show Is Coming to Pakistan: It’s Bigger It’s Better!

Sea-world-show-lead

The Sea World Show, with new mammals and exciting new tricks, is coming to Karachi soon, promising to be a treat!  The immensely popular show will soon be hitting us with a bang, claiming to be much better and bigger.

There are not many family oriented entertainment outlets in the bustling city of Karachi -in fact, there is a dearth of safe and enjoyable places where families can break away from the usual routine of life and be able to sit back and relax.

Given this scarce number of options and a gaping void, you can now rejoice that the one-stop shop of entertainment, Sea World Show is paving its way towards Karachi! The Dolphin Show garnered popularity amongst teens, adults, and children last year and the Sea World Show is expected to receive an even warmer welcome.

The Sea World Show will feature new marine creatures such as the Black Dolphin, Beluga Fish and Sea Cats trained by none other than the famous Russian trainer, Vladimir.

Sea World Show picture 1

The Sea World show is truly a unique mammal show, where humans get to interact with their favorite mammals. As of yet, there is no such arena in Pakistan where humans can actually intermingle with live animals and watch them perform startling tricks.

It opens a realm of enchantment and entertainment for the people of Karachi, to celebrate the thrill and adventure of live animal shows that are equally intriguing for children and adults, who just cannot seem to get enough of it.

The shows will be performed live at the Pakistan Maritime Museum. The timings, tickets and other details are to be announced very soon.

We’ll just have to wait and see what new tricks have been learnt by these mammals, won’t we?

Here’s a clip of Vladimir, tamer of the sea creatures, wishing Pakistanis a Happy Independence day, that too in Urdu!

They are all set to take the excitement to a whole new level. We can’t wait to watch these beautiful sea wonders!

The Sardar, did 50 push-ups in less than 40 seconds, flaunting how apt his title and position is.

Watch the video below:

[dailymotion id=”x4osb0q”]

But he shocked us, even more, when he joined a cycle race to Mazar-e-Quaid on Independence day and that too in a tie! Why you do this Mr. Sports Minister?

As for sports, we are unable to conclude how much he is into physical excursions and what plans he has for serving the particular ministry.

He rocks any headdress like a pro, has his own entourage of friends and is quite passionate about his wheels. The hunky minister can easily carry traditional ensembles as well as he carries all those tailored suits. From desi to western, he seems to be flaunting all of the style statements.

Have a look and decide if it’s his charm that can guarantee performance or his fan following?

PIA Premier Service Launched in Islamabad on 14th August 2016 [Pictures]

PIA-Lead

UPDATE: Prime Minister Muhammad Nawaz Sharif inaugurated PIA’s Premier Service on 14th August at Islamabad Airport. The airline is looking to revive the glory it once possessed through the launch of PIA Premier Service.

The service also offers a free limousine service from London’s Heathrow Airport for the business class passengers.

View the inauguration ceremony pictures below:

Six flights have been introduced per week for now, flying from both Islamabad and Lahore till London offering an improved in-flight menu and extended entertainment. The air fares are to remain the same for now, PIA claims.

View the new In-flight menu for PIA Premier Service below:
PIA Premier Service Flight Menu

According to Dawn News, Pakistan International Airlines (PIA) has received three Airbus A330 air crafts from SriLankan Airlines on a wet lease.

Three air crafts will cost PIA an aggregate of $264000. Each aircraft will cost around $88,000 travelling for 11 hours daily, Dawn News reports.

The aircraft is to be used for Premier Service on the Islamabad- London route. The Premier Service will be inaugurated on August 14th by Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif.

Acquiring planes on wet lease depicted that the flights will still be operated by Sri Lankan Airlines while the aircraft’s exterior will be painted in conventional PIA’s logo and colours.

The crew of the airline have been given a stylish makeover. The credit of their uber glamorous look goes to leading fashion maverick, Nomi Ansari.

“With new aircrafts, more professional crew and improved service standards, the new service aims at providing an altogether different experience to the passengers. This service will go a long way in helping PIA regain its market share both domestically as well as internationally,” he said. – Samaa

PIA

One too many times has it happened that the best existing Airline, PIA, in Pakistan has disappointed us. People had no other choice but if they did, they might have boycotted from this one, like Shaheen International, centuries ago.

A team of PIA, led by the CEO Bernd Hildenbrand flew to Colombo to finalize the contract which included negotiations with the Sri Lankan Airlines for leasing the A-330 air crafts.

These will be used for the premier service only, which will be launched Mid-August.

Let’s wait and see when we get to experience these changes.

However back in the 1970s, Pakistan was a very different nation. The culinary world didn’t demand too much innovation. People were happy with the choice of desi food such as Nihari, Biryani and Bun Kebabs. But while Pakistanis seemed content with these, the rest of the world was being introduced to something new. Burgers.

History of Mr. Burger

Pakistan owes the popularity of burgers to one family alone. The Raza family consisting of nine brothers to be specific. Travelling all over the world, the Raza brothers came across the growing trend of fast food. Impressed with the new variety in food and the quick service it entailed, they set about bringing the notion to Pakistan.

One of the brothers approached two international chains McDonald’s and Burger King, with the intention of purchasing a franchise. However he was met with a refusal from both. ‘Pakistan is not ready for burgers’ is what he was told. And that stemmed the urge to prove them wrong.

Pakistan’s First Burger Joint

The journey wasn’t easy. With no prior knowledge of how a fast food joint works, the brothers set out to learn as much as they could about the enterprise. They got jobs at the above mentioned international fast food chains and learnt their way up.

Once equipped with enough experience, they came back to Pakistan and faced more challenges. Since the idea had never before been implanted, there were no tools and technology required to run a burger joint. The brothers had to start from scratch. But once they did, they were in for a surprise.

We as Pakistanis aren’t really open to change. We resist and refuse to accept anything new. So it was very astonishing how much love a new food variant received almost immediately after being introduced.

Mr. Burger

Rise of the Burger Culture in Pakistan

Curiosity might have killed the cat. But in this case however, curiosity introduced Pakistanis to something that revolutionized their eating habits forever. Wanting a break from their everyday food choices, customers flocked to Mr. Burger. Lines circled outside the outlet and waited for the new experience.

Mr. Burger didn’t just introduce Pakistan to a new food item. They brought in an entire mindset. A culture where everyone was welcome, and had to wait their turn to receive service. The younger generation now had a safe place to hang out away from home. The adults found a quick getaway to enjoy food on the go. Politicians, celebrities, people from all walks of life stopped by to get a taste.

Burgers vs Bun Kebab

As the burger culture became more prevalent a class divide cropped up on the scene. The kind of crowd that frequented Mr. Burger began to be known as ‘Burgers’. This crowd generally comprised of rich kids with lots of time to spare. The term very quickly became a part of the norm. Anyone not falling in that category was labelled a bun kebab – the poor version of a burger.

Mr. Burger

The rise and fall of Mr. Burger

The reason Mr. Burger so easily managed to gel in with the desi food market was simple innovation. The Raza family used their newly acquired knowledge of fast food and combined it with the local palate to create their own version of a burger. Three months it took to make the perfect beef patty with a unique sweet and peppery taste, that while new was still familiar to the locals.

They served five kinds of burgers – Mr Burger, Beef Burger, Chicken Burger, Egg Burger and Veggie Burger at very affordable prices ensuring everyone could enjoy.

Fast forward a few decades and the majority of Pakistan’s population enjoys having burgers upto three times a week. Not only have many international chains opened up their outlets in the country, but many local joints have cropped up on the scene as well. Mr. Burger somewhat lost its popularity. With so many options to choose from, the joint was unable to keep up.

In the mid-2000s owing to the unrest in Karachi, the Raza family had to leave the country. That fuelled the downfall of the food chain. The quality went down, outlets closed and even the most loyal fans began finding other options.

However three years ago, the family returned once more to restore Mr. Burger’s former glory. This was achieved with an outlet that opened up in Khyaban e Rahat. Promising the same top notch quality that had made it so popular, the joint welcomed customers old and new and this time lived up to the expectation.

The secret of Mr. Burger’s success lies in its unique flavor. Where burgers today are loaded with too many synthetic flavors and sauces, what makes Mr. Burger the best is its fresh produce and a succulent patty that eliminates the need for anything else.

Mr. Burger

A reminiscent of the good old days

If anyone wants to know what Mr. Burger was like during at its peak they should visit the newly opened outlet on 26th Street. The new outlet is reminiscent of what the joint was when opened but with a modern twist. To cater to the younger generation, new branding has been introduced. Strict quality control ensures that no customer has a reason to complain.

Its signature burgers such as Mr. Burger, Mr. Big with egg, Mr. Deluxe are all immensely popular. Serving hundreds of customers daily the chain remains a local favorite.

Nissan Revolution: New Gasoline Engine Can Possibly Make Diesel Engines Obsolete

NissanLead

Japanese car manufacturer, Nissan Motor Co, has invented a new gasoline engine to bring forth a Nissan Revolution. The company claims that the engine may make advanced diesel engines obsolete using variable compression technology.

Nissan engineers say that the technology allows the engine to choose optimal compression ratio for combustion, which is also the key factor in trade between efficiency and power in all gasoline engines.

Revolution Sensor

The new tech will improve turbo performance and will help gasoline engines match the same level as both fuel economy and power as diesel and hybrid powertrains. So far, gasoline engines have put on a hard struggle to compare against rival engines and have failed to achieve any accomplishments.

Kinichi Tanuma, Senior Nissan Revolution engineer said, “Diesel engine is a hot topic globally. We believe this new engine of ours is an ultimate gasoline engine that could over time replace the (advanced) diesel engine of today.”

Nissan to Stop Electric Car Battery Production

James Chao, Asia-Pacific Managing Director at consult IHS said, “Everyone’s been working on variable compression and other technologies to significantly improve gasoline engine fuel economy… at least for the last 20 years or so.”

“Increasing the fuel efficiency of internal combustion engines is critical to automakers. Not all consumers will accept a battery electric vehicle solution. But significant challenges remain, such as increased complexity and cost, as well as potential vibration issues.”

Ghandhara Nissan To Invest Rs. 500 Million in Pakistan Automobile Industry

As for now, Nissan Engineers are ready to show the new Variable Compression-Turbo (VC-T) Powertrain to everyone at next month’s Paris Motor Show for an Infiniti model which will be unveiled next year. Eventually, it will be available for older models and for its alliance partner,Renault.

The engine is being said to be a turbocharged four-cylinder 2L VC-T and will give 27% better fuel economy than the V6 3.5L engine it will be replacing in the near future.

Tanuma added, “We think the VC-T engine could replace or become an alternative to some of today’s advanced diesel engines.”

Telenor Rawaan – A Musical Journey Through Pakistan

Telenor Rawaan

Pakistan is a country with a diverse culture. Each of its province has its own language, physical attributes and history. One cannot hope to live in just one part of the country and expect to learn all there is about it. In order to truly understand it, you have to experience all that this wonderful nation has to offer.

Rawaan means a journey, an excursion which teaches new things along the way. Telenor Rawaan is that magical journey. One which hopes to highlight the real beauty of Pakistan. The soulful music, the warmth and unity of the people and above all the mesmerising sights that bring peace to whoever lays an eye on them.

We first came across some video snippets of Telenor Rawaan, each featuring a province, namely Sindh, Balochistan, KPK and Punjab. The videos all have the traditional music typical of these provinces being played in the background and a bag being packed with the traditional outfits.

Initially, it takes a little guesswork to comprehend what these videos mean. Do they belong to a music video? A documentary perhaps? Or are they teasers of a short film.

Now however we know more. Telenor Rawaan is a soulful musical journey through Pakistan. It is the story about a music director in search of the perfect tune. Since Pakistan has such a rich a diverse culture, he tries to find the best music in all the provinces. He packs a bag and sets off on an adventure, ready to experience something new.

He learns that each province is different, the people have their own customs, traditions, but these differences do not set us apart. By acknowledging the differences, celebrating them we create something better. True unity.

Similarly, he experiences the music of all provinces, appreciates their differences and tries to find the best way possible to amalgamate them. This in turn, gives him the result he has been looking for all along. The perfect tune.

Pakistan with all that it has to offer is a blessing for us all.
