1. The Brand Name

First of all, it is the brand name. If there are two almost similar products, most people will choose to buy them from a famous brand rather than an infamous place. Knowing this, the brands charge higher because they know people will come and buy it regardless of how much they charge the product.

2. Limited availability

Every product line a luxury brand produces is numbered. Be it a designer brand in Pakistan or an international luxury brand; they will make, let’s say, 100 or 1000 products. Now, since it is a piece of art that is available in a limited capacity, they have the space to increase the price of the product.

3. Sense of accomplishment

It’s a circle, really. People buy expensive products to feel accomplished, and when they have accomplished something, they would be able to buy expensive products.

4. More accountability

It is the trust that these brands will be more accountable, and they really are. All the defective branded products you will find in the market costing anything barely are there because if there is even a shred of a problem with a unit, they will discard it. You won’t find it in their stores.

5. Differentiating the circles

Not everyone can afford these products. So meaning that you can afford it puts you in a circle where others, like you, can afford it. And it differentiates you from people who cannot. Saudi Arabia has allowed pilgrims from all over the world to perform Hajj this year. This is going to be the first religious ritual that will take place since the pandemic started. Last year Saudia allowed only its residents in a limited number to perform the Holy task. Special Representative to the Prime Minister on Religious Harmony Maulana Tahir Ashrafi has confirmed the news.

Terms And Conditions By Saudi Arabia

According to a Saudi newspaper, the Hajj season will include pilgrims from abroad, but strict precautionary steps and preventive measures must be taken to protect the people from COVID-19. The conditions to perform Hajj has,

  • Vaccination is a must for aspiring pilgrims.
  • Pilgrims will have to quarantine in Saudi Arabia for three days.
  • People under the age of 18 and over 60 are not allowed for Hajj

According to Maulana Tahir Ashrafi, the Saudi government will inform Pakistan about the number of pilgrims permitted to perform the ritual from Pakistan.

Previously, the Saudi government said it intends to organize this year’s Haj, which is due in July. All measures including health, security, and organizational controls to protect pilgrims’ health will be taken amid the global coronavirus pandemic.

Vaccinated Pilgrims

Earlier, Saudi Arabia issued a list of recommended vaccines, which does not include vaccines manufactured in China. However, coronavirus vaccines by Pfizer, Oxford, Moderna, and Johnson and Johnson are recommended by Saudia for use.

After the Saudi government mentioned that it would not permit travelers who have been administered vaccines from China, the Pakistani government is in contact with Saudi authorities to allow people inoculated with Chinese vaccines to enter the Hajj.

Foreign Office spokesman Zahid Hafeez Chaudhry while responding to queries from some media colleagues on mandatory vaccines for travel to Saudi Arabia for visit, Hajj and Umrah said,

“Pakistan has taken up with the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, the issue of vaccines which are mandatory for travel to Saudi Arabia for a visit, Umrah and Hajj.”

Lahore, 22nd May 2021: Pakistan Education Council (PEC), the representational body of leading private schools of Pakistan has expressed its concern over the educational decisions regarding the examinations, taken by the government of Pakistan.

PEC, in their statement, has made it clear that the decision to postpone exams of Cambridge O Level till October 2021 has put the academic progress of thousands of students at stake. These students will not only lose their motivation to study, but they will also lose the chances of getting admissions in FSc colleges. They will miss out on the precious academic time needed for the rigorous and challenging Intermediate and A level studies.

Mr. Imran Masood, the President of Pakistan Education Council said, “We appreciate the concerns of the government regarding the use of School Assessed Grades (SAGs). However, we want an urgent meeting with honorable Education Minister Mr. Shafqat Mahmood to discuss SAGs and other options. Through this meeting, we hope to devise a plan to protect the academic interests of innocent students at stake. Urgent action in this regard will help clear the confusion and provide parents and students some clarity of thought and direction.” He further added, “The decisions of the Government on the 2021 Cambridge Examinations have been taken in isolation without considering the views of educational institutions across the country. We, as educationists, believe that school assessed grades (SAG) are crucial and in the best interests of students. Failure to implement SAG will negatively impact the education and careers of our students.”

Therefore, considering the current situation PEC urges the education minister of Pakistan to look into this matter immediately.

A girl shares that once a rishta came for her. Only the boys’ parents visited. They had a good conversation with the girl. Then, mid-conversation, the mother of the boy, requested to go to the washroom. When she returned, she left after 5 minutes. It turns out that they did not like the washing machine in the bathroom.

Another rishta story was shared by this girl who, to date, laughs at it. She said she was supposed to meet with the rishta people. Now, according to her family values, she cannot meet the guy before the engagement. So she did not expect him to come with the rishta family. When her mother urged her to start talking, she came up with the most appropriate question she could think of. She asked, ‘So what does your son do, uncle?’

The one who explains

So this one lady said that she was enjoying a family gathering. And out of nowhere, a distant relative came to her mother and complimented her. The aunty said to the girl’s mother, “Your daughter is beautiful. If only she were fairer, I would have sent my son’s proposal.”

 When you want to know the Politics

In which house will you not find politics. But I guess people just think that all the politics in a home is due to a daughter-in-law. So this Rishta aunty probably wanted to detect the political environment of the prospective girl’s house. Very proactive. It’s good to think about what effects a new addition might have on your family, but have a better approach, woman! She asked the very girl she was there to see whether there were domestic fights in her family.

Amazon Business Centre Of Imarat Group Declared “Software Technology Park” By The Ministry Of IT

The management of the Imarat Group of Companies signed an MOU with the Pakistan Software Export Board (PSEB) on Thursday, the 20th of May 2021 to launch a “Software Technology Park” inside the premises of the Amazon Mall located on GT road near DHA II. The Amazon Business Centre is now declared as a Software Technology Park by the PSEB under the Ministry of IT.

Imarat Group of Companies is one of Pakistan’s leading real estate groups. The Group has to its credit more than 8 projects in the capital amounting to construction over 10 million square feet. The Amazon Mall is one of its profound projects as it is Pakistan’s first of its kind, outlet mall. Leadership at the Imarat Group have always been strong advocates of the many advantages of technology in the real estate sector.

The management at the Imarat Group have gladly agreed on providing space spanned across 3 floors to the Ministry of IT, to develop a one-of-a-kind software technology park. The aim is to bring in professionals from the industry to work towards boosting Pakistan’s tech industry and sector. PSEB being a facilitator of the IT industry shall market and extend all possible support in populating the software technology park as per the MOU.

The MOU signing took take place in the Ministry of IT during which the secretary of IT, Mr. Shoaib Ahmad Saddiqui was present. The signatories included Chairman Imarat Group of Companies Mr. Shafiq Akbar and Managing Director of the PSEB Mr. Osman Nasir. Group Directors Mr. Farhan Javed and Mr. Sharjeel Ehmer from the Imarat Group were also present.

Mr. Shafiq Akbar expressed his belief in technology being the future. He stressed on how we must adapt technologies like blockchain and artificial intelligence to the real estate sector in Pakistan and how other sectors of the country can also benefit from it. He said “With this partnership, we aim to bring the best of RE technologies like blockchain, digital mapping, artificial intelligence algorithms in Pakistan, this will not only revolutionize the way realtors work but will also remove malpractices from the Industry”.

The parties are hopeful that this venture together will lift not just the real estate industry but also other sectors of Pakistan via technology and aid in growth of the country’s GDP.

CNN Anchor Wrongly Accuses Pakistani Minister Of Anti-Semitism

We make quite a lot of fun when our politicians are invited to foreign political shows. The conversation that ensues often traps them and we get entertained. But today, when the CNN anchor made an irresponsible remark we learned how ignorant and biased even the anchors can be.

CNN Interview with Pakistani Minister of Foreign Affairs

In a recent interview with CNN, Pakistani Minister Shah Mahmood Qureshi was asked to comment on the Israel-Gaza conflict. In response to the question that Bianna Golodryga asked, Qureshi said that Israel is losing out in the war of media. He said that Israel has lost control of the narrative which is a huge victory considering they have been controlling it thanks to their ‘deep pocket’. At this, the CNN anchor makes an irresponsible, unsolicited comment, “I would call that an antisemitic remark.”

Wait, hold on! Let’s back it up.

What is anti-semitic?

Anti-semitism literally is prejudice and discrimination against Jews.

Now, let’s look at Qureshi’s statement once again. He said Israel is losing out, and not the jews. Take a look at the video below.

Where exactly did he make an anti-semitic remark?

What the CNN anchor is doing?

It is quite clear that (a) the anchor is equating Jews with Israel; (b) she is making the crimes against humanity seem like a religious war; (c) instigate into a verbal slur on national media; (d) restore the loss of Zionist narrative.

Let’s address each point separately now.

Addressing the points

Addressing the first two points; Palestine does not just have Muslims. Sure, it is a Muslim majority country, but it also houses people from Christianity, Samaritanism, and Druze. Exactly, the same way, Israel is not only jews. It houses several other religions including Muslims. This is why the conflict is not religious. It is political, geographical, and conflict for power that Israel wants to impose on Palestine. Yes, the Israeli government is Jewish but some Jewish citizens themselves are retaliating against their government for this.

To address the third and fourth points we will have to look at the recent events. When social media erupted in support of Palestinians, the Zionist narrative Israel was taking took a backseat. Now, what is Zionism? Zionism started from establishing a homeland for homeless jews kicked out from Germany as well as their current allies. They decided to steal from the only ones who gave them refuge, the Palestinians. This is to reiterate, not all jews are zionists.

The Twitter user accurately summarizes the situation. He says that the anchor is twisting Qureshi’s perfectly non-religious statement as anti-semitic. This only shows that Israel does have deep pockets and controls the media.
