Honda Shares How It’s Using VR To Design Cars

Source: Crascoops

With the use of cutting-edge virtual reality (VR) and mixed reality technologies, Honda is accelerating the manufacture of contemporary automobiles. Watch this brand-new video to get a look inside the Honda VR Design Studio in Los Angeles. It goes without saying that VR has evolved into a crucial tool for Honda designers when building electric vehicles (EVs), which is why they are increasing its use in both Japan and Los Angeles.

The 2024 Honda Prologue full electric SUV was the first of its kind to be predominantly built using virtual reality visualization technology, which proved useful when it came to overcoming cooperation and efficiency problems during the age of COVID-19.

Honda has already committed several serious errors such as sending Clarity cars to the scrapyard and failing to release a Honda e or hybrid Acura MDX in US markets. The final one is particularly disappointing for us since, despite the fact that Honda fans adore MDX.

The process

Previously, Honda’s designers would follow convention and begin with a clay model, which they would then convert into a digital model for more work and cooperation. This time, they approached it the opposite way, beginning with a computer design produced in a virtual reality environment and only employing clay cutting later to ensure that everything appears fine in reality.

Honda now has a 2500 square foot room set aside for VR. Instead of merely clicking and zooming with a mouse or whatever, the team needs all of that area for both modeling and moving around virtual models in the actual world.

Being able to digitally work with designers all around the world was a major benefit for Honda. The pandemic made this difficult or impossible, but moving ahead it will also lessen the environmental effect of design and speed up processes. As a result, the pandemic ended up offering the firm something helpful by changing its operating procedures.

But this wasn’t simply dancing in the living room while wearing an Oculus/Meta Quest. To ensure that the VR experience matched the feel and touch of the real world, they actually built physical replicas of the car. This helped create a more useable design from the start by giving the designers a true sense of what the design will truly be like for drivers.

All of this resulted in less modification later with other teams who choose materials, design and construct interiors, etc. The increased speed was thus quite real.

Opening doors for future ventures

Additionally, teams from many continents were able to work together in real time. The team members were able to view the same item at once early in the design process instead of exchanging files or even clay blocks, which meant that everyone’s thoughts and contributions ended up being a part of the process early instead of later. Again, this was handy, but it also greatly increased the process’ speed and efficiency.

During the pandemic and the creation of the distinctively Honda aspects in the Prologue, Honda got a taste of what VR could accomplish for it. They are thus moving ahead and looking for methods to make VR do even more tasks for them in the future. The business is excited about what it may imply for the teams’ productivity and efficiency as well as how it can enable Honda to produce better electric vehicles in the future as it moves onto fully-Honda platforms.

AI Makes Serious Predictions About Earth & It’s Quite Concerning

Recently, scientists used AI (Artificial Intelligence) to discover that the earth may be depleting at a much faster rate than humans are thinking. AI was employed by scientists to discover that the globe may have already crossed the key warming threshold. According to the report on CNN, even with concerted global climate action, a new study employing machine learning suggests that the Earth may reach important global warming thresholds sooner than earlier models indicated.

AI Model

Data indicates that the world’s average temperature has remained stable. Researchers trained artificial neural networks, a type of machine learning or artificial intelligence, on climate models before using historical data on global temperature “as independent input from which the AI makes a prediction,” according to co-author and Stanford University professor Noah Diffenbaugh. Ady climbed up and turned.

The Results

The study showed a “substantial potential” of global temperature rises breaking the 2-degree threshold by mid-century, even with massive worldwide efforts to reduce planet-warming pollution. It predicts that the earth might warm by 1.5 degrees Celsius above pre-industrial levels in a decade. According to data, since industrialization, the average global temperature has already increased by about 1.1 to 1.2 degrees.

The study, which was released on Monday in the Proceedings of the National Academy of Sciences journal, stated that its findings “offer further evidence for high-impact climate change, during the next three decades.” In accordance with the 2015 Paris Climate Agreement, nations agreed to keep global warming well below 2 degrees Celsius—and ideally, to 1.5 degrees Celsius—relative to pre-industrial levels.

A vital tipping point of 1.5 degrees of warming has been discovered by scientists, after which there will be a significant rise in the likelihood of major flooding, drought, wildfires, and food shortages. the temperature rises over 2 degrees could bring catastrophic and potentially irreversible impacts, including pushing three billion people into “chronic water scarcity”

Conclusions

The scientists assessed that low, medium, and high “forcing” climatic pathways—which refer to the intensity of the heating generated by greenhouse gases in the atmosphere—were all evaluated. Even if pollution that contributes to global warming is significantly decreased, the scientists predicted that the earth would rise by 1.5 degrees between 2033 and 2035 under all three scenarios. The study’s findings were more alarming than the IPCC’s projection that, in a low emissions scenario, global temperature rises are unlikely to reach 2 degrees by the end of the century.

Even if, over the next half-century, the world achieves net-zero – where it removes at least as much planet-warming pollution from the atmosphere as it emits – where it removes at least as much as it emits, the AI predicted a probability of around 80% that 2 degrees warming will be reached before 2065.

According to Diffenbaugh, there is a 50% chance that 2 degrees Celsius will be achieved by 2050 if emissions continue to be high. “Clear evidence” indicates that a half-degree increase in global warming poses serious threats to both people and ecosystems. Therefore, the obstacles to adaptation will increase as global warming increases, according to Diffenbaugh.

A Prank or Reality? People Are In Disbelief After Sham & Froggy Part Ways

The popular vloggers Sham Idrees and Froggy have reportedly split up, according to the former’s social media announcement. “I would like to announce that I and Froggy are taking some time away from each other in our relationship,” the YouTuber wrote on Instagram. He added, “Please don’t involve me in issues concerning Froggy, Rabail, or any of the other family members. I appreciate some privacy during this difficult time.” Both Sham Idrees and Froggy have been around on YouTube for a long time but they gained popularity from 2018 to 2020. Their channel mainly consists of prank and challenge videos and they have even tried to make music.

Sham Idrees and Sehar (Froggy) got married in November 2018 and were blessed with a daughter, Sierra in March 2020. Ever since their social media content has revolved around their family, their relationships ad their daughters. Recently, Sham Idrees announced that the couple has decided to take a “break”. Whether this break is permanent or temporary, no one knows and that has left the fans confused.

The couple welcomed a healthy baby daughter, Sierra Idrees a few days ago. Idrees broke the story on his Instagram, posting a photo of his daughter holding his finger. “Alhamdulillah, we are blessed to announce the arrival of our baby girl. Please keep her in your prayers! Say Mashaa’Allah,” the post read. The YouTuber also posted a vlog on the birth of his daughter. After this, their accounts have been almost inactive and now they have announced their break.

However, people are confused and are already making judgments and assumptions as to what the situation really might be. The majority of the people are of the opinion that this is all just a hoax for views or just an elaborate prank. They refuse to believe that the two individuals may actually have parted ways. This could be because of the given history of the couple specifically, Sham Idrees. He is known for pulling extreme pranks on his friends and has even pranked his fan base many times in the past too. Here is what some fans had to say.

As it can be seen people do not believe it and think it might just be a huge set up to regain relevancy amongst the audiences. What do you think? Let us know in the comments below.

Nissan Is About To Reveal Its New EV Concept

Source: CNN

This Wednesday, February 1, at 8 p.m. EST, Nissan will debut a brand-new electric concept. Or it may be an idea we’ve seen come to life. The live stream’s slogan exhorts viewers to watch and “observe what occurs when the virtual turns into the real. Find out how our newest concept vehicle maximizes zero-emission mobility!” The Max-Out idea, one of Nissan’s concepts supporting the automaker’s Ambition 2030, is seen in the placeholder image’s back corner.

A 2 trillion yen ($17.7 billion U.S.) investment over the course of five years is required for the program, some of which will go toward the introduction of 23 new electrified vehicles, 15 of which will be all-electric. The business’s e-Power powertrain, which includes a gasoline range-extender engine, may be used in the other models. By 2030, Nissan intends its whole portfolio and the Infiniti brand to be 50% electric worldwide, with different targets for different areas. In the next five years, Europe is expected to sell 75% more electric vehicles than the US and China combined, with a 40% objective.

Re-modeling the EV market

The Max-Out convertible concept car, according to Nissan, is “so responsive it seems a part of you,” and it aims to offer a novel driving experience thanks to its exceptional stability and comfort by limiting body roll while maintaining dynamic cornering and steering responsiveness maximizes driver and passenger comfort and fosters a sense of unity with the vehicle.

The idea included lightweight construction in addition to the standard EV concept features including a full-width screen for the instrument panel and a passenger seat that could be folded to increase storage space.

The Chill-Out crossover, Hang-Out SUV, and Surf-Out truck were three other virtual-only designs that debuted at the same time as the Max-Out. The manufacturer praised its EV technology vision as being super lightweight with “ultimate hardware,” “minimal components,” and “innovative integration of the body, chassis, and battery,” the latter of which were robust batteries, in a previous film on those concepts.

Nissan previews its electric future with 4 radical new concepts | Autocar India
Source: Autocar india

All of them would be advancements on Nissan’s Advanced e-4Force dual-motor powertrain, which made its debut on a modified Leaf by the end of 2019. 304 horsepower and 501 pound-feet of torque were produced together. With 210 horsepower and 243 pound-feet of torque, the system made its premiere late last year on the 2023 X-Trail in Europe, our Rogue.

When can we see them on the road?

Nissan is creating a new sports vehicle for North America and Europe, according to Nismo president Takao Katagiri, who spoke to Auto-car in December. This car is thought to be a preview of the GT-R replacement, which will feature hybrid and all-electric propulsion. We anticipate seeing the Max-Out in real form this week, but we are unsure about how far into the future the idea envisions and how much of what we anticipate from Nissan will be incorporated into that vision. So check in on Wednesday to find out, as the TV ads advice.

Google Pixel Tablet: Latest Rumors Are Catching Fire

Source: FoneArena

The firm teased a Pixel-branded tablet at its 2022 I/O conference, along with the Google Pixel 7 Pro and the much anticipated Google Pixel Watch. Google’s would-be iPad rival will launch later this year, while the Google Pixel 7 range and Pixel Watch will arrive in carrier shops in late 2022.

It’s still too early to tell whether the Google Pixel Tablet will be any better than the last Pixel-branded tablet, but there are still plenty of delicious details to whet your appetite.

A revolutionary hardware grip

Back on the rumor front, in October, 9to5Google found evidence of two distinct docks in development by digging around in the APK for an internal release of the Google Home app. It’s unclear at this time what sets the two ports apart, although the second one may be for a reported Pixel Tablet Pro.

Google Pixel tablet image leaked; tipped to get 8GB of RAM and 256GB of storage
Source: TimeNow

A powered stylus device may also be included with or sold separately with the tablet. A Google tablet with the codename Tangor was discovered to have been approved by the Universal Stylus Initiative in May, according to the site NuGiz. This association establishes industry-wide standards enabling touch-enabled devices and active styluses to communicate with one another.

Developer Kuba Wojciechowski discovered proof of the Google Pixel tablet’s use of a first-generation Tensor CPU in AOSP code in September. The device is still referred to as Tangor. Google, however, has called this into question. The Google Pixel Tablet won’t include GPS or a cellular modem, according to Wojciechowski, which makes sense if the gadget is intended to serve as both a tablet and a hub for smart homes.

The display

Soon later, Wojciechowski and 91mobiles shared further information regarding the hardware setup of the Pixel Tablet. The 10.95-inch Pixel Tablet will have a display that is nearly an inch bigger than the Nest Hub Max’s and will come in 128GB and 256GB storage options. Wi-Fi 6 will also be supported.

Google Talks A Lot About Pixel Tablet and Its Docking Powers
Source: DroidLife

Additionally, Android 13 QPR1 Beta 1 makes mention to hardware with the codename tangorpro, which—given that Tangor is almost certainly the Pixel Tablet—seems to support the notion that a Pro version may potentially be in the works. It’s unclear what would set the smartphones apart, although a more expensive model may have the GPS and LTE circuitry that the base model is missing. We haven’t observed any proof of this, though.

What can be expected?

The Google Pixel Tablet prototype that was published on Facebook Marketplace in December gave us our finest look at the Pixel Tablet’s actual hardware to date. Although the listing’s photos are blurry and poorly lit (naturally), they plainly reveal a few things. For starters, the prototype’s display features black bezels rather than the white bezels Google has depicted in each of the device’s previous renderings. A picture of the tablet’s screen also reveals that it has 256 gigabytes of storage. A power cord comparable to the 30W one included with the current Nest Hub Max was also available with the tablet. The prospective seller demanded $400.

Pakistanis Lose Their Calm After Petrol & Diesel Prices Increase

It is not new for the citizens of Pakistan to deal with high inflation on a daily basis. Petrol prices are constantly fluctuating and people are learning to deal with the changes, however, this time the increase in petrol and diesel prices is unbearable. Ishaq Dar, the Finance Minister, said on Sunday that the price of gasoline and diesel will increase by Rs35 per liter as of today at 11 a.m. as a result of the rupee’s depreciation against the dollar. Dar also declared that the price of kerosene oil and light diesel oil had raised by Rs18 per liter in a televised speech.

Petrol prices in Pakistan

Just after the currency hit an all-time low this week and just days before the International Monetary Fund (IMF) visits Pakistan to discuss the postponed ninth review of Pakistan’s funding program, prices for gasoline and diesel have increased again, and that too majorly. Dar stated that “We will have to take the rise in international oil prices and the devaluation of the rupee into account. This rise is being done immediately on the recommendation of the oil and gas regulatory authority who said there were reports of artificial shortages and hoarding of fuel in anticipation of price rises – hence this price rise is being done immediately to combat this.”

After this current announcement, long lines of people were seen at multiple petrol pumps in order to get their tanks full.

Reactions

Soon after the revision of prices was announced, a wave of frustration was sent through the public. Their anger could be seen on different social media platforms, especially Twitter. Many hashtags regarding the current petrol fiasco and mocking the government started to trend on Twitter. “How will the poor survive? Why [is] this nation so insensitive about the simple question of the life of poor and middle classes,” Shabbar Zaidi, the former chairman of Pakistan’s Federal Bureau of Revenue, posted on Twitter.

The general public had the same reactions. People have begun to feel extremely cornered since life is becoming very difficult for them due to continuous inflation. Electricity blackouts, low to no gas, no water, expensive food, and now expensive petrol have forced people to either cry or burn petrol pumps to the ground.

Many people across the nation have planned protests to take place today in order to show resentment to the government and its incapability to handle the economic downturn.

The public has also been comparing the old government of Imran Khan and this new PDM government. They have stated that they do want “Purana Pakistan” and prefer “Naya Pakistan”. Former prime minister Imran Khan also tweeted about the situation and the people seem to agree with him.

OGRA Takes Action

In the meantime, OGRA officials announced that those responsible for closing down gas stations in several cities will face consequences. According to the officials, the licenses of individuals who shut off the pumps would be suspended. The officials said that the regulator is receiving assistance in this regard from the district administration via the provincial chief secretaries. They also said that the situation would be rectified quickly. Some gas stations had large lineups outside the day before the increase because people were filling up their tanks out of fear that prices will shortly go up.

Due to the Pakistani rupee’s sharp decline in value, the cost of imported commodities will increase even though the country is currently experiencing a balance of payments crisis. A significant portion of Pakistan’s import bill is made up of energy. Pakistan needs the International Monetary Fund (IMF) to visit successfully since the country has less than three weeks’ worth of import coverage in its foreign exchange reserves and is in severe need of external finance.

What are your thoughts about the increasing petrol and diesel prices? Let us know your thoughts in the comment below.

Andrew Tate Bashes Romanian Government & Justice System

30th January 2023. After a judge referred to the “special dangerousness” of internet personality and his brother Tristan in terms of their ability to target women, Andrew Tate reaffirmed that there is no justice in Romania. The judge also mentioned their “ability and effort to exercise permanent psychological control over the victims… particularly by resorting to constant acts of violence,” according to the BBC.

The judge explained his justifications for extending the boys’ incarceration last week in a written statement from the main court in Bucharest. Andrew Tate posted on Twitter, “A communist nation is Romania. There is no proof or evidence—only suspicions. They’ll try to convict you of crimes and put you up in jail. Your life will be wasted as a result of their failure. Release you after many years without even saying sorry.”

While authorities look into claims of rape and human trafficking, Andrew Tate and his brother will remain in detention for an additional 30 days, or until February 27. Both contest the accusations. Along with them, two Romanian ladies who are intimately related to them are being detained. The four allegedly made up an organized criminal group in early 2021, according to investigators, that was formed to “recruit.. shelter and transport victims…in order to obtain significant sums of money by compelling victims to participate in pornographic events” that were posted on websites like TikTok and Only Fans.

13 Jan 2023: New voice notes of Andrew Tate have been leaked to the public eye and people have been feeling disgusted and angry. This isn’t the first time when Tate has managed to turn the world against him. The 36-year-old recently got arrested by the Romanian police under the charges of sex trafficking. Previously, Tate had still been in the bad books of the public, mainly because of his offensive and misogynistic statements. Recently, an audio leak has been added to the list of “Reasons to hate Andrew Tate”. Following is the video of the audio.

TW: The video does contain graphic details and could be triggering so viewer discretion is highly advised.

Different reactions have been seen on social media to the audio. However, the majority of the public is absolutely boiling and is aggravated. Previously, Tate had two categories of “fans” – Women who were extremely “feminist” and men who were inspired by Andrew Tate and his teaching. But this audio has triggered all sorts of people across the world.

This is not the first time Andrew Tate has talked negatively about women. In early 2022, clips of Tate had been circulating on social media where he explicitly explained how he would treat a girl.

Due to the fact that men typically buy expensive and potent items, cars can also be perceived as a means for men to flaunt their masculinity. Men may not find comfort in other places, but driving a car might give them a sense of security in the face of an intimidating outside world.

Meet Andrew Tate, a divisive social media star, lost 11 of his 33 automobiles to the Romanian Police after boasting about his car collection to climate activist Greta Thunberg. According to reports, Tate was a professional kickboxer with 76 wins and nine losses during his career. Tate is well-known for his contentious behaviour on social media.

Here’s his conversation with Greta Thunberg

In a Twitter thread, he showed off his luxury car collection and mockingly asked Greta, “Please provide your email address so I can send a complete list of my car collection and their respective enormous emissions.” This tweet soon gained popularity across the globe with 3.5 million likes and 650,000 direct shares. Greta was soon to reply and said, “Yes, please do enlighten me. Email me at smalldickenergy@getalife.com.”

After this controversial yet talk-of-the-town faceoff, soon Andrew Tate’s 11 cars (worth over five million euros), as well as many buildings, including one where the brothers allegedly kept six young ladies, had been seized by the police. This was also just after he got pressed with charges of human trafficking, abuse, and holding girls hostage at his house. Which of these matters led to police involvement is not clear as of yet.

However, here is a breakdown of some of Tate’s cars that were seized in Bucharest on the 29th of December.

1. Bugatti Chiron ($2,900,000)

2. Rolls Royce Wraith from The Black Badge Collection ($300,000)

3. Aston Martin Vanquish S Ultimate ($250,000)

3. Ferrari 812 Superfast ($250,000)

4. Ferrari 458 Italia ($250,000)

5. Porsche GT Street ($160,000)

Tate has managed to build a collection of 33 luxury cars that sum up to a whopping amount of $7,500,000. These were some of the cars amongst the 11 cars that were taken under police custody from Andrew Tate’s property in Bucharest, Romania.

Recent Economic Conditions Survey From ACCA And IMA Shows A Steady But Weak Global Economy

The Global Economic Conditions Survey (GECS) for Q4 indicates signs of stabilisation, but several indicators are still lower than they were in Q4 of last year. The good news is that the GECS Confidence Index increased modestly for the second consecutive quarter. This may be due to anticipation that the worst of the central bank tightening may soon be over and that China may be able to lift its zero-COVID limitations.

However, since 2012, the Confidence Index has been below its median reading. The other three economic indicators—new orders, capital expenditures (CapEx), and employment—don’t offer much good news. CapEx increased slightly but is still below the median for the same time period; new orders and employment continued to deteriorate modestly.

Overall, the findings are in line with a meek macroeconomic prognosis. The good news is that, despite the fact that this is the base case scenario for many economists, they do not yet appear to be at levels that are consistent with a full-blown global recession in 2023.

The two GECS “Fear” indexes, which indicate respondents’ worries that clients and/or suppliers might go out of business, serve as a useful cross-check. Fortunately, despite the steep increase in borrowing costs and the likelihood of negative corporate earnings growth in 2023, these remained mostly unchanged from the 2022 Q3 survey.

What strikes out is the growth in trust in wealthy countries, both in Western Europe and North America, according to Assad Hameed Khan, head of ACCA Pakistan. The increase in confidence is likely due to optimism that the situation in Russia and Ukraine will be managed and that there would be enough natural gas to get Europe through what is now more than likely to be a mild winter. However, if one looks at the weaker emerging markets (particularly Pakistan), 2023 may still be a difficult year as seen by the mounting concerns about sovereign credit and requests for help from the International Monetary Fund (IMF). Additionally, the central bank continues to face pressure for continued higher interest rates, monetary tightening, and limitations on foreign exchange transactions (slowing GDP even more).

“Global confidence has moved up for the second consecutive quarter as cost concerns have eased and with anxieties about obtaining credit and getting fast payment have not gotten any worse,” said Loreal Jiles, vice president of research and thought leadership at IMA.

“Given the world’s central banks’ recent swift tightening of monetary policy, this comes as a bit of a surprise. In terms of pace, scope, and breadth, the past year has seen the most aggressive tightening of policy in more than 40 years. It’s odd that this hasn’t yet had a significant effect on the availability of finance and cash flows for businesses. But because of the lengthy and unpredictable lags involved in monetary policy, this issue might worsen later in 2023.

Three significant uncertainties affect the world economy.
First, has the level of tightness implemented by central banks been overdone or underdone?

Second, is it possible for China to implement a smooth transition from zero-COVID without further lockdowns?

Third, will wage pressures subside without significantly damaging the labour market?

Whether the combination of early retirement, protracted ill health, and the shift to hybrid working has significantly affected the balance of power between employers and employees is one of the unanswered concerns from the COVID crisis. It might be more difficult for central banks to achieve their 2% objective for core inflation as a result of these altered employment-market dynamics.

As 2023 goes on, the answers to each of these queries will become much more obvious.

A Coca-Cola Phone? Who Is The Mystery Maker?

Source: 9to5google

Coca-Cola looks to be preparing a new cooperation with an established smartphone manufacturer, which may be the newest entry to the list of “strange phones from unexpected companies.” A rendering of the Cola phone has gone viral online, showing a dual camera configuration, the recognizable red hue and the emblem of the fizzy drink brand.

Perhaps not many people are interested in the thought of a phone having Coca-Cola branding on it. But a recent research indicates that it’s still happening.

Rumors or what?

According to leaker Mukul Sharma, who said on Twitter that the Coca-Cola-branded phone will be released this quarter, it will be available relatively soon. According to the tweet, in order to get the product to market, the sugar water firm is collaborating with a business that is better experienced in producing phones.

There is a real Cola-phone Global Twitter account that is followed by 8 additional accounts belonging to different smartphone manufacturers. One of the speculative scenarios is that the Cola phone will be a renamed member of the Realme 10 series, most likely the stock realme 10 model. In India, the Cola phone should soon go on sale.

A new marketing strategy

Coca-Cola is one of the most well-known brands in the world, therefore it’s safe to say that it has some knowledge of effective international marketing. Despite being over a century old, Coke continues to dominate the market in terms of product sales, marketing, and brand positioning.

With that being said, the brand has decided to launch its phone in India first, catering to a market of over 1.5 billion people. The idea of launching a phone is not to enter the phone market which is infested by many big fishes such as apple, Samsung, Oppo and many others but as a part of a marketing and branding strategy.

From what we know, the phone is pretty basic and is also being heavily compared to realme designs but it fulfills the purpose of creating a buzz in the air. It is a part of the numerous successful campaigns run by the company such as “Share a coke” which was a huge success, now the question arises how will this move from Coca-Cola play out?

What do you think of this potential alliance and the phone with the Coca-Cola theme? Comment your thoughts.

Will Musicians Compose Songs Using AI In The Future?

Will Musicians Compose Songs Using AI In The Future?

Now that machine learning is being used to grasp the sounds, patterns, and genres of music and lyrics, artificial intelligence (AI) is bringing us the next generation of electronic music.

This method was utilized to generate “The official Tokyo 2020 beat,” in which an Intel AI composed hundreds of choices using thousands of bits of music with themes related to sports, Japanese culture, daily life, and nature. The final version was ultimately picked by the Japanese people.

We are listening to AI music

Beginning in the UK, JukeDeck is an AI music start-up that just was purchased by TikTok. JukeDeck automatically interprets video and sets music to it. AI music is emerging as a new business, with start-ups developing quicker and simpler music creation tools. Following David Bowie’s lead with the song Hallo Spaceboy from the 1990s, several music artists are experimenting with AI for lyric creation.

Others, like Grimes on the song “So Heavy I Fell Through the Earth – Art Mix,” are employing AI to create novel neural synthesizer sounds. Then there are those like Taryn Southern with I AM AI who use AI to make entire albums.

How hard is it to create AI music

Artificial neural networks, which are very vast sets of computer components, are used by music AIs to try to replicate how the brain functions. And you can essentially bombard this neural network with music in order to train it to recognize patterns, just way the human brain does when it is constantly exposed to new information.

Modern neural networks are challenging because they keep growing in size. And it’s getting more and more difficult for us to comprehend what they’re doing.

Additionally, these neural networks use a lot of energy. For example, if you want to teach AI to analyze pop music over the previous 20 years, you would need to input all that data and use a lot of power to analyze it and create a new song. We’ll eventually have to consider if the environmental cost of this new music justifies it.

Will AI beat human music composition?

It won’t be long until a machine can be used to create fresh versions of every musical genre that are identical to human-composed works, with AI advancements showing no signs of slowing down.

AI is even capable of innovation, developing fresh ideas and investigating previously unheard noises. But music is all about communication, just like our languages. AI today has all the skills but no words. Its actual worth can only be felt when we utilize it to express ourselves.

Are Cough Syrups Causing Children To Die? WHO Investigates

Are Cough Syrups Causing Children To Die? WHO Investigates

Cough syrups are very common in the world right now. These medications help people cure themselves at home when they have the common flu, cold, and cough. However, such medication is very concentrated and should only be taken in the prescribed amount and misuse can be fatal. WHO has recently discovered that cough syrups might be linked to children’s deaths. According to a person familiar with the situation who spoke to Reuters, the World Health Organization (WHO) is looking into if there is any connection between the manufacturers whose tainted cough syrups it has linked to the deaths of more than 300 children in three countries according to Reuters.

The WHO is looking for more information about the specific raw materials used by six manufacturers in India and Indonesia to produce the medicines linked to the recent deaths, as well as whether the businesses obtained them from some of the same suppliers, the person said, citing “unacceptable levels” of toxins in the products. The WHO has not identified any vendors yet.

Recognized Symptoms

Beginning in Gambia in July 2022, cases of pediatric acute kidney injury spread to Indonesia and Uzbekistan. According to the WHO, the deaths were caused by youngsters using over-the-counter cough syrups for common illnesses that included either diethylene glycol or ethylene glycol, two known toxins. The WHO has so far identified six medicine manufacturers who made the syrups in Indonesia and India. These producers either chose not to comment on the inquiry or denied utilizing contaminated products that were a factor in any fatalities. The corporations the WHO has named are not guilty of any misconduct, according to Reuters.

Diethylene glycol and ethylene glycol, which the WHO described as “toxic compounds used as industrial solvents and antifreeze agents that can be lethal even in little levels,” were found to be present in the syrups. Their poisonous effects include death, renal damage, and the inability to pass urine.

Repercussions Being Taken

WHO spokesperson Margaret Harris said, “This is of the highest priority for us, to see no more child deaths from something that is so preventable,”  without commenting further on the details of the organization’s work.

The United Nations health agency announced on Monday that it had expanded its inquiry to four new nations: Cambodia, the Philippines, East Timor, and Senegal, where the same goods may have been sold. It urged other countries and the international pharmaceutical sector to conduct immediate audits in order to weed out inferior medications and strengthen control.

In October 2022 and earlier this month, the WHO issued specific alerts for cough syrups produced by two Indian companies, Maiden Pharmaceuticals, and Marion Biotech. According to the notifications, the use of these syrups had been related to deaths in the Gambia and Uzbekistan, respectively. The manufacturing facilities in Marion and Maiden have both been shut down. After the Indian government announced in December that its testing had discovered no issues with Maiden’s products, Maiden is now attempting to reopen.

The rising fatalities

The fatalities have drawn attention to possible weaknesses in the global regulation of routinely used drugs, including control of manufacturing facilities and supply chains, particularly those producing goods for developing nations that lack the means to monitor the safety of pharmaceuticals.

However, unfortunately, the WHO establishes worldwide standards for the manufacture of medicines and aids nations in their investigations of any flaws, but it lacks the mission or enforcement power to prosecute offenders directly.
