More Pakistani Celebs Are Exposing Javeria & Saud For Not Paying Them!

Javeria and Saud Qasmi of JJS production house have become subject to intense criticism for being fraudulent. They are both being exposed slowly to how they treated their employees, how they are withholding payments, and defrauded others.

Salma Zafar Began The Movement

The first person to speak out against both was Salma Zafar. The veteran actress felt that her voice was not being heard anywhere and so she turned to social media. In a 35 minute long live, she divulged all the dangerous secrets about the couple.

Zafar accused them of withholding one crore of the payments they owed to her. She talked extensively about how they treat the people who work with them. Moreover, before going public, Zafar also alleged that she asked Javeria for her payment, after which Javeria immediately blocked her contact.

She further shared that Saud had abused many of his employees by using foul language and vowing not to pay a penny to anyone, even those who had small amounts as low as 7000 rupees.

The revelation made by Salma has left plenty in shock, but that is not all. Another actress spoke up about the fraudulent practices of the now, infamous couple.

Sherry Shah Takes The Baton

Then Sherry Shah went public with her share of allegations against the couple. She said that she empathized completely with Zafar because she is in the same position. Sherry has been a part of the JJS production house’s dramas of Ye Zindagi Hai and Yeh Kesi Mohabbat Hai. She is stating that the couple owes her 3.5 lacs until now. 

This is her declaration:

In a video uploaded by Sherry, the actress said, “I have been a part of JJS Production’s projects for many years. I have done two projects, one was soap, and the other was a soap serial. Yeh Zindagi Hai was soap serial and Ye Kesi Muhabbat Hai was soap.” Sherry Shah also spoke of Javeria and Saud ‘s terrible behavior when confronted about the pending payments. 

Three’s A Party

So far, two people have come forth against the couple and their mismanagement at their esteemed production house. If one person, Zafar, alone had accused the two, then there is always room for doubt in such cases. However, with another accomplished actress joining Zafar and testifying to the same things, little doubt is left. If a third person comes and joins them, the couple may be boycotted for good.

In the latest developments of the case, Javeria had responded by saying she intends to take legal action against the “false” accusations levied on her.

This Local Web Series By Lemon Max Is Sure To Kill Your Boredom!

One of the COVID-19 induced lockdown’s effects has been the increased social media presence. On that social media, you can now find a local web series by Lemon Max. This web series is a comedy, bringing light to the comic side effects families have experienced.

The mini web series released a trailer first of all. And then, within two days, the band has released three episodes of the series. With the name being ‘Lockdown ke Side Effects,’ each episode approaches one of those effects with light humor.

1. The family getting close to each other

Titled ‘Qareeb Aao Na,’ this episode talks about the little things that bring the family closer. These things can be as simple as eating together on one table and talking about whatever they want. It could be the grandfather sharing stories, the parents fun-teasing each other, or kid’s childish jokes.

2. Work from home can be difficult

This episode highlights the struggles of ‘Work from home.’ Generally, work from home is worse for women since they have to be actively involved in the house chores, being responsible for the child, alongside getting the job done, which somehow extends far beyond 5 pm. But the good thing about this ad is that it does not enforces gender norms and shows that the husband also takes part in cooking.

3. Keeping a positive mindset

Alongside an effect, Lemon Max also gave a message to its viewers. The message was, ‘we need to keep a positive mindset even if things get tougher.’ And if we do just that, we will be able to get through this lockdown like its not a big deal.

KIA Motors To Bring New Models In The Market By 2021

KIA Lucky Motors Pakistan is planning on rolling out not one but somewhere between 2-4 new models by 2021, according to a brokerage house report.

The joint venture between Kia Motors and Lucky Cement was planned to establish a duty-free import plant and to import heavy-duty machinery with 10% customs duty on non-localized parts for five years.

This was decided according to the automotive policy to encourage new auto brands to invest in Pakistan as opposed to 32.5% for existing brands. While custom duty is 25% on localized parts for the new players, it is 50% for existing ones.

“As per channel checks, KIA is looking to launch 2-4 new models before the expiry of Automotive Policy 2016-2021 to avail tariff benefits,” analyst Shankar Talreja at Topline Research said

So far, under the joint venture, the company has introduced two variants in Pakistan, the KIA Sportage (July 2020) and the KIA Picanto that came out last year.

“Both variants of the company has received a very impressive response with monthly bookings clocking in at 1,500-2,000 units,” said Talreja. “We believe next launch would be in Sedan category (Cerato) as the company has already launched a hatchback and SUV-oriented models.”

Previously, we had shared that KIA is planning on introducing the KIA Cerato, also called KIA Forte, in Pakistan. The family-sedan would be a direct competitor to the likes of Toyota Corolla and Hyundai Elantra.

KIA Cerato To Launch In Pakistan By Year End: Reports

The Cerato first came out in 2003 in the American markets and continued till 2008. After, the Forte replaced it but carried the Cerato name.

According to the current reports, KIA Motors can expect to witness an increase of 50% in sales bringing it to 27,000 units by the next fiscal year and another 7% in 2022-23.

“Balance sheet position of the company is powerful as advance booking price of Sportage generates healthy customer cash advances,” shares Talreja.

“We are estimating net financing (net of advances from customers) requirement of Rs8-9 billion, which can result in higher finance cost,” he added. “We have assumed gross profit margins of KIA Lucky Motors at 8 percent for FY22 versus Indus Motors 11 percent,”

Because of the high demand for the Sportage, the brand has set its delivery time to 1-3 months, which is something that existing local manufacturers find hard to complete. This is yet another advantage to KIA. The Picanto also has a delivery time of 1 month.

Asides Cerato, we have yet to see which KIA cars are to roll out of the factories and onto the roads in the upcoming year. Automotive enthusiasts are looking forward to something exciting from the venture.

Preparations are in full swing as Pakistan prepares for one of the most significant events of the year.

Eid-ul-Adha or Bakra Eid is just a couple of weeks away, and there is much to get done with.

One of the most critical tasks is to go to the cattle mandi and purchase the sacrificial animal.

The National Institute of Health (NIH) Islamabad has shared that Pakistan is on the tip of the iceberg as yet another virus spread awaits the country. Commonly known as Congo, this virus is found in animals.

“It is necessary to take preventive measures timely to tackle the spread of Congo virus,” the directives said while asking the concerned departments to adopt preventive measures.

If preventions are not taken on time, this virus can cause massive problems given the current conditions of the healthcare system and households.

However, an advisory has been issued to cattle markets to prevent such an outbreak from happening in the first place on the occasion of Eid ul Adha.

What is the Congo virus?

The Congo virus starts from when a tick attaches itself to the skin of an animal. The tick then multiplies in numbers. When children or adults go near that animal to pet it or to take care or it, the ticks latch onto the human body spreading the infection.

What are the Symptoms of Congo?

Reportedly, the initial symptoms of Congo fever include:

  • headache
  • high fever
  • rashes
  • back pain
  • joint pain
  • stomach pain and
  • vomiting

Last year in Karachi alone, 20 casualties had been reported due to the infection. Hospitals had been advised to adopt special precautions to treat the Congo cases to prevent further spread.

Now, we have to wait and see whether Pakistan will survive its battle against the odds of being infected or will fall.

Tania Aidrus Resigns As Special Assistant To The Prime Minister

The former Google Executive Tania Aidrus returned to Pakistan to serve the country as Prime Minister’s Aide on Digital Landscape. However, today, Aidrus resigns from her post amidst criticism regarding her citizenship status.

She took to her Twitter account that her resignation was in favor of public interest. The decision came about when Aidrus faced criticism over having dual nationality – Canadian alongside Pakistani nationality. She also mentioned in her tweet that since this issue with her citizenship is affecting the project, she joined the public office for, this has become the ultimate reason for her resignation.

She states in her tweet that she will continue to work for the PM’s vision even if it is from outside the government. The former SAPM also attached her resignation letter in the tweet.

In the resignation letter, Tania Aidrus said that it was an honor to serve the PM. She also states that by heart, she will always be a Pakistani. However, her Canadain nationality was a result of her birth in Canada; she did achieve it through acquisition. But since that is hindering the PM and Aidrus’s shared vision for Digital Pakistan, she finds no other alternative than to resign.

Along with Aidrus, a few more SAPM resigned for the same reason; the criticism regarding their dual nationality. The opposition kickstarted this conflict, highlighting the citizenship status of these SAPMs. They also disclosed the details of the assets they hold outside Pakistan.

The former Google executive reflects:

“It is unfortunate that a Pakistani’s desire to serve Pakistan is clouded by such issues.”

Aidrus resigns from office with a promise:

“I shall continue to serve your vision and Pakistan through initiatives both in the private and public domain, where possible.”

Ever since the novel coronavirus broke-out, the entire world as we know it changed within a few days. Those who love to travel are stuck at home, offices shut down, and adopted work from home policies, and schools went online.

One of the most impacted sectors due to the pandemic is the education sector in Pakistan and abroad as well. As someone who has a younger sibling, I have been observing how online classes are different from actual classes.

Trust me when I say I would rather have my sibling shipped to school even if it was in Africa, however, I will not do that because it is still not safe enough for children to go back to school.

I know what you’re thinking here, cases are going down, businesses and other things are getting back on track, and we are adapting to the situation every day for survival, that’s great! But, we are adults, we understand what’s at stake and are better listeners and followers compared to children, yet we do exactly what we aren’t supposed to.

Children nowadays do not get as much as physical activity and exposure to nature and a natural environment as much as we did as children. Not to forget how they’ve become fussy eaters! Their immune system is not as secure as ours used to be at that age.

To fight a virus-like corona, the immune system has to be able to endure everything that comes with it, which are children are not ready for.

From day one, organizations like WHO and even our government have been asking the general public to avoid going out and to wear masks. How many adults have you seen abiding these rules?

Children have short attention spans and are not as good at following instructions as adults. The children will fidget around, take their masks off, play with their masks, rip them, will not follow the social distancing rule, will hug their friends, will cough or sneeze on their friends, will not wash their hands, and eat with those germ-filled hands too!

In such circumstances, it is highly essential to understand that opening schools mean the chances of an infected child spreading the virus and a healthy child contracting the virus is high.

Just like how in the above point, we mentioned a sick child could infect a healthy same, it’s the same with the adults too. An infected adult who has probably found themselves in social activities can put the children at high risk.

If the adult is infected, they can transmit the virus to the entire class, putting the whole school in danger along with the other staff members. Although many individuals are following guidelines, you can never know when something goes wrong.

Hence, as the famous saying goes, “it’s always better to be safe than sorry.”

Attention all Apple users! Instagram is spying on you! Or is it?

Apple released iOS 14 public beta in early July. It comes with a privacy feature that uses Access Dots software to monitor the status of the camera. Upon detection, it informs the user with an orange or a green dot. And through this feature, the world found out Instagram is spying on them.

Thanks to a Twitter user with the handle KevDov, the news about Instagram came to light. In a recent tweet he wrote:

“Casually browsing Instagram when suddenly the new iOS 14 camera/microphone indicator comes on. Then control pane ratted out the app behind it. This is going to change things”

According to him, he was surfing the Instagram app when the recorder indicator came on. Upon raising the control panel, he saw the app that was using the camera in the background. As it turns out, it was Instagram.

Instagram Responds

Instagram denies the allegation of spying. They have stated that instead of the app spy it is a bug in iOS 14 that needs to be resolved. The Instagram spokesperson in communication with a publication said:

“We only access your camera when you tell us to – for example when you swipe from Feed to Camera. We found and are fixing a bug in iOS 14 Beta that mistakenly indicates that some people are using the camera when they aren’t. We do not access your camera in those instances, and no content is recorded.”

Just last year, Instagram’s parent company Facebook also fixed a similar bug on its iOS app that was accessing the users’ camera without their knowledge. While it is essential for all users to be careful, we should also consider that the beta versions are far from perfect. They are released early on for the very reason to figure out faults so the company can make improvements on it before making it available to everyone.

Asim Azhar Reveals He’s Been Single For Quite Some Time

How To Make Easy, Creamy ‘Quarantine’ Pasta!

The coronavirus lockdown has resulted in reduced food deliveries and no restaurant outings. We see many people getting creative with food and taking to Instagram to share their recipes and creativity.

Cooking can be therapeutic for some, and for others, it’s an opportunity to spend more family time by either baking or enjoying a home-cooked meal together. Many of us still crave our favorite foods, and sometimes, the only option is to make it!

Here is an easy recipe to make Pasta in white sauce.

Ingredients:

  • Pasta – you can use any you like, I have used Tagliatelle which is a type of Ribbon pasta
  • A tin of corn
  • Onion
  • Garlic
  • Parsley
  • A tin of mushrooms
  • Butter
  • Olive oil
  • Flour
  • Cream
  • Dried Herbs
  • Salt
  • Pepper
  • Red chili flakes
  • Milk
  • Meat – Chicken/salami

Preparation:

1. Put some butter and olive oil in a cooking dish. I used a large frying pan. Add in some onions and crushed garlic and stir. Once the onions are soft, add in mushrooms and corn. Sprinkle on salt, pepper, red chili flakes, herbs, and some fresh parsley.

To Prepare White Sauce:

Take some butter in a pan and add about two tablespoons of olive oil. Add to this about three tablespoons of flour and let it cook for a few minutes while stirring continuously. Add some milk (continue stirring) and make sure that the mixture does not get lumpy. Add in more milk as required. You can also add in half a cup of water if you feel the sauce is thick. Add in some cream ( I used about half a packet ). Add in a half-teaspoon of mustard, salt, and pepper to taste.

Add in the vegetables prepared earlier to the white sauce.

If you want to use chicken or any other meat, you can prepare it separately using chicken cubes and in the same way as the vegetables above. I have used chicken salami that I have cut into strips and sautéed, as shown below. This was convenient, available at home, and added in a sweet, smoky flavor to the Pasta.

Prepare the Pasta

You can boil as much Pasta as you feel the number of people in your family. The dish I made would feed around six people.

Once the pasta is boiled and drained, add it to the white sauce mixture with the vegetables.

Serve in a dish and garnish with the sautéed salami.

The First-Ever EV Charging Station Becomes Operational In Islamabad

The first-ever ‘Electric Vehicle’ (EV) charging station in Pakistan has become operational in Islamabad. The station, set up in F-7 Markaz, is the first of many and the first step towards a revolution in Pakistan.

The First Electric Vehicles Charging Station

The station was set up a few days ago and has started functioning now. It has been put in place at Pakistan Stae Oil (PSO) in F-7 Markaz by the Barqtron Energy Company. The Science and Technology personnel were overjoyed and so were others! Check out the pictures below which shows the first few cars being charged by the EV charging station.

The Shift To EV 

The charging station was set up as part of the government’s plan to encourage people to purchase electric vehicles. The policy was initially passed on June 10th with the approval of the Prime Minister. It is a testament to all of the government’s effort to cut air pollution and curb climate change.

It aims to bring half a million electric motorcycles and rickshaws, along with more than 100,000 electric cars, buses and trucks, into the transportation system over the next five years.

The goal is to have at least 30 per cent of all vehicles running on electricity by 2030. The first stage of the policy also focuses on those vehicles that are most common in ht heavily populated areas. These are the two-three wheel vehicles which have become heavily incentivised by the government. 

Financial Incentives To Shift To Electric Vehicles

The National Electric Vehicles Policy also outlines some major financial incentives to be going for EV. 

Manufacturers, assemblers, and suppliers in the EV and related infrastructure industries will benefit from lower taxes: 1% GST for EVs, as opposed to 17% for regular vehicles. Additionally, the import duty for charging equipment is also being cut down to 1%. The government will also install at least one DC fast-charging station every 10 square kilometres in all major cities and every 15–30 kilometres on all motorways.

However, the policy had some cons that were pointed out. The policy leaves out cars in its outline which is essentially ridiculous since cars constitute a major part of the vehicular system of Pakistan. Moreover, this leaves out the poor completely. While a normal rickshaw may cost approximately Rs.250,000, an electric one would cost Rs.400,000. How can someone be expected to make this investment?

According to the government, the cost will be covered in roughly one year. Here’s to hoping the goal set for 2030 is achieved.

1 – Caramel Macchiato

Ingredients you need:

1 cup coffee
5 tablespoons heavy cream
2 tablespoons caramel sauce
4 tablespoons brown sugar
¼ teaspoon salt or less
½ teaspoon vanilla extract
Ice

Instructions: In a blender, add brown sugar, salt, vanilla extract, and ice. Blend the ingredients. Pour it in a serving glass, add one cup of black coffee. Top the drink with heavy whipped cream and caramel sauce.

2 – Pumpkin Spice Latte

Ingredients you need:

1 cup of sugar
1 cup of water
2 tablespoons pumpkin puree
2 teaspoons pumpkin pie spice
½ cup coffee
2 cups of milk

Instructions:

Step 1: Make the syrup by cooking water and sugar in a saucepan. Bring it to a boil and then reduce the heat, add pumpkin puree and pumpkin pie spice together. Let the syrup cool down.

Step 2: Heat milk and coffee together. Serve in a cup and add syrup as much as you prefer! Sprinkle some cinnamon on top, and you’re done!

3 – Double Chocolate Chip Frappuccino

1 cup milk
2 tablespoons sugar
⅓ cup of chocolate chips

Instructions:

This one is the easiest! Blend all the ingredients in the blender together and serve. Add some chocolate sauce and chocolate chips, if you fancy some.

4 – Green Tea Lemonade

Ingredients you need:

3 tablespoons sugar
1 green-tea bag
½ cup boiling water
2 lemons
¾ cup of water
Ice

Instructions: 

This one is pretty simple too! Just let the green-tea bag sit in boiling water and sugar. Let it cool! Once the liquid is cool, add it to a glass with ice cubes, lemon juice, and cold water.

Serve with a slice of lemon.

5 – The Pink Drink

1 cup fresh strawberries
½ cup of sugar
½ teaspoon green coffee bean powder
1 cup white grape juice
2 cups of coconut milk
2 cups ice
Optional: strawberries and blackberries

Instructions:

You will need the green coffee bean powder and grape juice as a base. Start by making a strawberry syrup by cooking sugar and strawberries together! Strain all the concentrated liquid and add to your base with a splash of coconut milk and ice.

Serve with fresh blackberries and strawberries

6 – Cinnamon Dolce Latte

Ingredients you need: 

¾ cup boiling water
One teaspoon instant espresso powder
1/2 cup milk
¼ teaspoon ground cinnamon
½ teaspoon brown sugar
½ teaspoon pure vanilla extract
1 pinch of nutmeg
Optional: whipped cream and ground cinnamon

Instructions:

The first step is to combine brown sugar, milk, nutmeg, cinnamon, and vanilla; stir the pot until ingredients are thoroughly combined.

Add the mixture to a cup of expresso diluted in water. Add some whipped cream on top and cinnamon, and you’re done.

Humans More Inhumane Than Animals

For animal lovers, Pakistan’s streets and news are a nightmare. Even for those who aren’t particularly animal lovers, for those empathetic to the voiceless, each day is challenging to go through. No matter how much you try to avoid and avert your eyes, you’ll know about one case or another.

Think about the dog who was tied to the back of a car while the car was speeding on burning hot streets of Karachi. Think about hundreds of harmless, neutered, and vaccinated dogs who are tied from the legs and then poisoned. Ushna Shah once cried on Instagram after seeing the video of a dog being shot and left in agony even though he was peacefully sleeping under a building. 

They weren’t harming anyone; they don’t attack you unless you attack them. Why can’t they live?

The Kitten Who Might Never Get Any Justice

Just a couple of days ago, another case gained traction on social media for all the wrong reasons. This was something that made everyone uncomfortable, shocked, left to reflect, and feel disgusted with their race. 

A kitten was raped repeatedly by a 15-year-old boy and his friends until the kitten passed away. We’ll spare you with the details because anyone who’s read them has gone into a dissociative state.

It’s unfathomable, and there are no longer any words that can explain the cruelty that’s inflicted on animals. As disgusting as it may be, this isn’t the first animal rape case. Dogs are beaten, tied, and raped. Another video is also circulating on social media of a young man raping a cat. 

Organisations That Need Your Help

Internationally, there are proper laws in place. Such cases, in foreign lands, can be tried in courts. This is a criminal activity, just not in Pakistan. People are enraged and using their rage for good to sign petitions to pressurize the government into creating laws. Nothing can be done to protect these voiceless, innocent animals unless their abusers are imprisoned and termed as criminals by the law.
