This Urdu Translation On Nutella Bottle Has Got Everyone Laughing

Nutella bottle

In recent news, Pakistan announces that all imported food brands should translate what is written on their product. In accordance with the new policy, most brands have done it and it’s not a wrong move really. I mean, a product available in the country, if not accessible, should be readable to the masses right?

So for instance, if you look at the social media accounts of Burger King France, you will find them conversing mostly in French. That way they become accessible to their specific audience. Ferrero, I would say became accessible by following the policy and adding Urdu on the Nutella bottle.

But the problem with using the language of the target market is when you don’t use it the right way. Or better yet, you use the Google Translate version of it. By now, I believe everyone should know how flawed the translations of Google are. In fact, if I recall it correctly, we used to use Google Translate for comedy pieces.

Or it could be that Google Translate is pretty efficient when it comes to other languages. Actually, I think we should do a post on the languages, this service is till ignorant off. But that is a story of another day. For now, the story is about Urdu. And we know for sure that Google doesn’t know it.

Now, let’s stop putting the light on Google because we are not entirely sure if Ferrero did it or not. But it sure seemed like it due to the level of translation used. Have a look for yourself.

So the caption on the Nutella bottle read in English, ‘Hazelnut spread with Cocoa’. And the translation goes somewhat like this, ‘Hazelnut Cocoa k sath phela hua.’ Literally, 50% of the entire statement is in English, written in Urdu script. And ending the sentence on the verb just sounds unprofessional.

But that makes one think, do we, as Pakistanis, also know the right translation?

I don’t think so. At least, I for one, do not.

In fact, I asked some other people as well and it made people go into a monologue where they tried getting to the right word for hazelnut. Some thought it was akhrot which is walnut in reality. While others took some other dry fruit names. But no one yet has been able to tell me what hazelnut is called in Urdu.

Yet, most Pakistanis are laughing at this:

Well, let’s just hope that Google updates the Urdu word reservoir so brands have a better time with copywriting.

Government Of KP To Restore A Vandalized Hindu Temple

Hindu temple burned

The world is home to many different kinds of faiths. In times of difficulty, religion can be a good place to turn to. Of course, it is encouraged to turn towards it in good times too. Everyone is allowed to have an opinion of their own. Similarly, they are allowed to follow their own faith.

Islam, for example, strongly condemns the concept of forcing people to convert. The conversion should always be a choice that the person makes, never something made for him. Christianity teaches similar principles and Buddhism talks about meditation. The last one has mediation at its very core, where one aims to achieve a sense of enlightenment, in order to reach Nirvana. Similarly, Hinduism has its own set of principles and followers. In recent news, the government of KP has instructed to reconstruct a Hindu temple!

Hindu temple restoration

Respecting All Religions:

Islam teaches Muslims that all faiths are to be respected. Islam encourages preaching, but it condemns forceful conversions. Religion even encourages you to explore other faiths and study what they do. It is not wrong to observe and note how Christians celebrate Christmas or how Jews celebrate Hanukkah.

A week ago, a Hindu temple in KP was the subject of vandalism. It was destroyed and burned by a group. In light of that, the KP government has decided to take a significant step. It could mean wonders for everyone!

A Temple Restoration:

In an official statement that was issued on Friday, the chief minister of the province has decided to restore the destroyed Temple. The temple is the Samadhi of Shri Param Hans Di Maharaj. The temple was vandalized at the hands of a Mob, last Wednesday. This mob consisted of Youngsters, Children, and elders all.

The governor also stated that the Hindu Temple attack is condemnable, and people have been arrested for their work. This is not an act that must be treated lightly and deserves light. She’s on it. The CM also stated that his government would assure the protection of all minority holy places. MNA Dr. Ramesh has also expressed his appreciation and satisfaction at this decision.

Unity And Peace For All:

This act ensures a sense of peace and negotiation between people of two faiths. It shows that, despite differences, the situation does not have to escalate. It can always be a peaceful option to make up for the damage done by a bad batch.

Neither is it good, nor is it beneficial to treat this act with another violent act. If a temple has been destroyed for unlawful reasons, there must be consequences for those involved. We hope this development gives people a better sense of security to practice their faith openly. It does not do well to keep fighting over religious or sectarian differences. After all, unity and peace are a mission handed to anyone living on this earth.

Young Boy Shot Dead By Islamabad Police For Not Stopping His Vehicle

21 year old Usama shot

Every day, there are brutal acts of violence taking place. One of the most know incidents of the previous year was the one involving George Floyd. In the footage that was shown, as well as the pictures, the brutality was clear. He did not even resist or was being considered at fault. Yet, they showed no sense of guilt or remorse as he was slowly and painfully, taken from us.

Violence just keeps escalating every year. Even if a place has a lower crime rate than others, it’s not something that is ever eradicated. Even superheroes, in their fictional worlds, are fighting a never-ending battle. Their enemies exist because they don’t like the way the hero operates. Pakistan has seen far more than its share of violence in the previous year. As of today, yet another incident has come to light. It seems a young boy, by the name of Usama, has been shot.

Brutal Acts Of Violence:

People are gunned down in acts of violence every day. Despite their being authorities present, criminals seem to escape the clutches of the law. At times, it can be the law that has extended itself to acts of criminality. In such times, we pray and wish such incidents should not be taking place. Shahzaib Khan’s incident is one that rocked the nation to the core.

It displayed and enveloped everything that has gone wrong with this world. People are supposed to look for non-violent ways to negotiate and end their issues. It seems that, despite everything, they revert to their primal war instincts. A similar act of violence shook the city of Islamabad. It involved the shooting of a young boy!

A Horrifying Incident:

Usama Nadeem Satti is the name of the individual who was the victim of violence. He was driving his vehicle when the anti-terrorist squad signaled him to stop the car. According to sources, he kept on going, and they opened fire. They fired 21, 17 of which hit Usama. He passed away on the spot. What kind of police regulation allows the shooting of civilians? Is this not a prime example of the kind of injustice that is faced every day?

Yes, the civilian did not comply and stop, but does that give the authorities the permission to shoot point-blank? Does that give them the approval of gunning down the person in cold blood? Regulations state the act of giving chase, even firing a warning shot. If, even then, the person is not complying, then the vehicle’s tyres should be shot at.

Injustice Walks Unchained:

Who will give Usama Nadeem Satti the justice he deserves? Is this another case of police brutality? Twitter, as you can see, has had a lot to offer on this case. It’s a sad state of affairs to go into the new year with such a horrible incident to hear about.

We hope the family members of the victim are granted patience and are able to navigate through this difficult time. He was twenty-one years old, that is barely two decades of his life. One moment, just taken away!

Did Saudi Billionaire Businesswoman Really Marry Her Pakistani Driver?

Since the past few days, there have been videos and pictures being posted on the internet claiming that the a Saudi Businesswomen, Sahoo Bint Abdullah married her Pakistani driver who apparently had a humble and simple background.

The news came as a surprise for many Pakistanis who poked fun at the driver’s luck, many hailing the news similar to a lottery for the Pakistani driver who is now set for life as his wife has an estimated wealth of $8 Billion and multiple properties and businesses all around the world as per the posts that are currently viral on social media.

There are multiple pictures and videos in which the happy couple can be seen been in their wedding outfits being affectionate to each other.

Twitter Reacts To The News Of Pakistani Driver Getting Married To A Saudi Businesswoman

As expected, Pakistani Twitter went into a frenzy and reacted to this news. Pakistanis that generally go to the Middle Eastern countries on work permits often face problems and have to do immense hard work to make ends meet.

However, many considered this news as a lottery for the alleged Pakistani driver appearing on the videos and pictures floating on the internet.

How True Is This News?

As much as we would like this news to be accurate, unfortunately, none of the well-reputed sources have verified this story. There are no whereabouts about a Saudi Billionaire Businesswoman Sahoo Bint Abdullah on the internet.

Even though the news with no sources is spreading on the internet like wild-fire, there is no single source that could confirm this news other than a few pictures with the same caption being reposted by multiple people all across the Pakistani social media.

Saudi Arabia is home for many Pakistanis who go to the country to gain a livelihood for their families while living in challenging circumstances but working hard so the lives of their family could turn around.

There have been several success stories about Pakistanis in Saudi Arabia in the past that were true though

Last year, there was news about a Pakistani carpenter who went to Saudi Arabia approximately four years back at the age of 24 to work as a carpenter but soon got offers for modeling. He now works as a fashion model full-time in the country, which had been his dream.

Waqas’s story proves that one does not need marriage to a billionaire to bail out of his or her circumstances, but hard work, consistency, and being fair in your dealings will assist you in reaching your goals one day.

Teenage entrepreneur Abdullah Mehmood who is trapping foreign investment

An entrepreneur is a person who takes financial risks and starts different businesses in hope of profit. But not every entrepreneur is like that, some take entrepreneurship as a purpose, a purpose to help others achieve success in their life.

Abdullah Mehmood is one of them, he’s known as the youngest entrepreneur of Pakistan. The purpose of his life is to serve his nation, which is a country of extreme talent and certainty. Convince international companies to invest in Pakistan. Everyone loves their country but the question is what makes you say that? Makes u prove that? Some say that if you want to serve your country you should join the army. But! That’s not true, u can prove your love for your country by doing something which will benefit not only the country but also the people of your country. This 18 years old teen is not just a business-minded person but also a patriot. He’s doing something that nobody has done before at his age.

Abdullah is just 18 years old, and his purpose in life is to convince international industries/agencies and markets to invest in Pakistan.

How successful he is?

Abdullah says that he’s not successful and he will never be until he sees his country becoming successful. Success doesn’t come easy and there’s no age to be successful, all u have to do is work hard. Now, he has his own media agency, running multiple YouTube channels, and becoming an Instagram model. His dream to be somebody in this world started when he was just 14 years old. At that time he was already managing multiple Facebook pages and groups, all having at least a million followers. Many public and business personalities used to contact him for his services. Abdullah helped every one of them reach over a million followers, at once. As time passed he turned his interest into a passion.

Abdullah has been helping people throughout his time but who one knew before. He contacted many media agencies but no one took him seriously. This pained him immensely, that was the time when he realized that there is no care for talent in this country. This gave him a purpose in life to create a media agency basically for the people who have a great deal of potential but nobody cares about them. Now Abdullah is the founder of The Rex media group.

Abdullah wants to see his country grow, he wants to make his country economically so strong that Pakistan and it’s services are to be known globally. He believes that if u want to serve the nation u have to follow the people who once served the nation…

Quaid Azam Muhammad Ali Jinnah once said for his youth: “With faith, discipline and selfless devotion to duty, there’s nothing worthwhile that you cannot achieve and if you will work in cooperation, forgetting the past, burying the hatchet, you are bound to succeed”

Abdullah took that seriously.

What’s Rex Media group?

The Rex Media group is an agency that helps common organizations to become popular brands. It’s an advertising agency that provides marketing services for both local and international markets with the help of young and talented freelancers of Pakistan. It’s a great platform for the people who truly deserve attention.

During the pandemic, many countries were facing economic pressures and industries were on the brink of crisis. Abdullah sees it as an opportunity because the condition covid 19 was not as extreme in Pakistan as extreme in other countries. Abdullah uses his resources to contact, collaborate, and convince them to invest in Pakistan.

Recently, Abdullah collaborated with Arash Barman who is the CEO of a software house known as BOOS. He convinced him to invest in Pakistan. In a short period, many Pakistanis start working with that company and start earning more than 40k a month. Because of his quality services, 3 US-based advertising companies and two software houses contacted him to attain his services and invest in Pakistan.

A public figure

Abdullah Mehmood is a YouTuber and an Instagram model. His extraordinary success at such a young age has made him famous all over Pakistan. He runs multiple cash cow channels on Youtube which have over a million subscribers in total. Through his channels, people are learning different and effective ways to earn money and it’s going on pretty well. Abdullah started youtube as a blogger when he was just 15 years old he used to vlogs on his channel. He didn’t gain much attention then, but now people know him well through his other cash cow channels. He’s also known for his modeling and has a chunk of followers on Instagram. Not very long ago, Abdullah was asked in a private interview to share his thoughts about his future. Abdullah replied: “Future is in God’s hand but what we can do is to hope and work hard towards our goal. Don’t wait for an opportunity, create one. Don’t look backward, look forward. Have a vision and believe in yourself, don’t look for motivation, be an inspiration. God helps those who help themselves…”

Abdullah is just 18 years old, and he’s currently studying and working with the students of the Agriculture department university-based in Faisalabad. They are planning and harvesting some crops which are not currently growing in Pakistan on a landmark of 30 acres which will help the local people in terms of cost and time.

Summary

Abdullah’s story told us that there’s nothing in life that you cannot achieve. No matter who you are and no matter where you are, there’s always a way that you can’t see. Doing something for yourself is good but doing something for your country is amazing. His story has not ended here, there are a lot more to come.

Hina Altaf Speaks Up About Her Pregnancy

When we like a showbiz personality, we want to guess and know everything about them. And unfortunately, we have this habit that when that personality is a female, we automatically become phuppos. Hina Altaf, too, recently experienced her fans acting like phuppos.

Phuppos and their questions

When she wasn’t married, all the people would do was ask her age. Oh, and of course, ask her why he got a guy’s name tattooed. Everyone just wants some masala. They must have been super disappointed to know that the name was of her mentor and not a potential lover.

Anyway, ultimately she did get married to her co-star Agha Ali. This made quite some news considering before marrying her, Agha was engaged to actress Sarah Khan. One would have expected the phuppos to calm down after this news, but no. They had to bash Hina Altaf for being the reason the engagement broke.

Time for the next step, Hina Altaf

Now, they have another issue with the actress. They think it’s time for her to become a mother.

Hina Altaf recently put up a stunning picture showcasing her smile. She was wearing a cute sweater and covering her smile with her hand. It was her goodbye to 2020 and a welcome to 2021.

But if you can count on someone to extract something drastically different from what the actual story is, it’s the fans.

Instagram user wari_shayy comments on Hina’s picture, saying, ‘I thought you have good news.’ Now, in desi vocabulary, everyone knows what good news really means.

Hina Altaf replies to the comment in the best way possible. She doesn’t lash out at them. She told them that had she been expecting, she would totally announce it first.

#ShaaneShine Is Empowering Women To Break Their Barriers

On the 8th of December, several influencers and celebrities started posting black and white pictures, with their faces turned away and only their hair showing. Little did we know these posts would be the start of a brilliant campaign that empowers girls! One by one stories of inspirational girls were unveiled who showcased determination and changed the conventional narratives.

What Are The BnW Pictures About?

Black and white pictures are often used in order to convey the gravity of an issue. It can show that due to a reason, all colour has been robbed of something, and the fact that these girls showed their hair, in said pictures, obviously had a meaning.

It potentially reflected the harsher and negative things many girls have heard in their lives about their capabilities — where all they were told was that they could and should only take care of their homes – “baal sambhaalo” ! All the said girls highlighted the limitations that were created when they wanted to embark on their journey. People set different roles for them and expected something different from them.

A post shared by Ramsha Khan (@ramshakhanofficial)

But #SunsilkPk has turned the Narrative around

The #ShaanSeShine campaign has shown that these barriers are only there to be broken! The static posts got optimistic with the next post  of videos where these girls were seen as bright, beautiful, and powerful with their luscious hair.

The girls turned around, told their stories of how they confronted their limitations, broke barriers, and succeeded by shining in and out.

Stories That Deserve To Be Re-told

Amongst the celebrities and influencers were stories that we all can relate to. They all came from different backgrounds, a yoga instructor, an actress, a travel vlogger, a journalist, or a home-based entrepreneur –  all-girls sharing the same strength and determination! They were told, “you are a girl”, “you’re fragile”, “You don’t know anything about business, “It’s not good to be interacting with strangers so much”-  “Sports is not for girls”

A post shared by Amtul Baweja (@amtulbaweja)

Irrespective of what they heard, these girls have shown us that once you break past these barriers, fulfillment and success awaits. Are you inspired by their #ShaanSeShine moments? We sure are!

The Comments Are A Sign of Change

The comments of such posts are usually full of derogatory and discouraging remarks. However, a change is on the horizon and we’re eager to be witnessing it! People were incredibly encouraging, appreciative, and proud of all the girls who chose to stand their ground.

A person can try their hard to break society’s shackles but their struggles are in vain if others are not inspired. Many girls out there are loving the narrative of how we can take care of our hair without making it something that defines our limitations.

A Much-needed Breath of Fresh Air

This campaign by #SunsilkPk #ShaanSeShine is a breath of fresh hair. Pakistan truly needs more campaigns that highlight what obstacles girls face so more awareness is created. Moreover, it also truly needs those campaigns that show that girls have courageously fought back.

Often the lives of girls under the camera lights seem unrelatable to many. This campaign has shown that we all start from the same point. Most importantly, it shows that we can reach great heights! It’s incredible how the narrative of #ShaanSeShine strengthens, inspires, and makes many of us girls proud!

70cc Motorcycle: Everything You Need To Know

Honda CD 70 as an economical titan

Where there are automobiles, there are motorcycles. Whether it is a 1500cc Harley Davidson or a CG 125, there is no doubt that Motorcycles are widely used. The writer of this article has a Harley Store in their neighborhood, where many bikers visit every day. The motorcycle is considered one of the convenient inventions to have ever gripped the automation industry.

They were used widely during the second world war, as a means of delivery. They were small, fast, and robust. Soldiers often used them in locations where jeeps were not ideal. Of course, just like cars, there are those with premium features and a hefty price tag. Then some are extremely well-conditioned in a budget. These Motorcycles mostly include those with a 70cc capacity. So what makes these vehicles the titans of their industry?

Motorcycles Of Today

Everyone these days is seen driving a 70cc. Since they are so economical, they are used by almost everyone who wishes to buy a vehicle on a budget. One of the most prime features of the vehicle is that it gives an impressive fuel mileage. You can fill it up with just three liters of petrol and go distances no other cars can go.

Of course, there are other benefits to it. However, where there are benefits, there are certain downsides too, and they must not be overlooked. Safety is a significant concern when it comes to 70cc. However, that doesn’t stop the 70cc from dominating the budget motorcycle industry in Pakistan.

The 70cc Giant

In every industry, there are dominators in price brackets. Samsung and Apple are your prime choices for Flagship phones, and if you’re looking for a budget smartphone, Xiaomi and Realme are the go-to options. Similarly, the 70cc motorcycle is the Budget equivalent of Xiaomi, except in vehicles.

It gives an impression of fuel average, and it can handle a surprisingly large amount of weight on it. The writer of this article has seen as many as four to five people sitting on one motorcycle. That combined up to a lot of weight. No wonder this vehicle is a giant in its area of development.

Revving The Engine

There are many brands now which offer 70cc motorcycle variants. Honda CD70 is the most prime example. Everywhere we see motorcycles, the Honda CD70 is seen. Similarly, Brands like Unique and Eagle also offer 70cc variants. The spare parts of the vehicle are readily available.

Since the motorcycle itself is budget-friendly, it’s parts are in no less quantity when it comes to repairing. Plus, the repair cost itself is not too high either. Additionally, it is so long-lasting that it can survive being submerged in water for many days at a time. Of course, we must mention that as budget-friendly as this vehicle is, the safety factor on it is extremely low. Your helmet is what will protect you from significant concussions. Always wear your helmet! A simple instrument like this can be the deciding factor between life and death.

Netizens Can’t Find Deepika Padukone Anywhere!

deepika padukone

Bollywood actress Deepika Padukone has disappeared! With 52.5 million followers on Instagram and 27.7 million followers on Twitter, Deepika has deleted hundreds of posts and tweets from her social media accounts.

She clearly thought it unwise just to delete her account. I mean, if she was going through a phase where she wanted to distance herself from social media, she was more logical than everyone else. Because honestly, we would just delete our accounts, but she knew that had she deleted her account, she would ‘probably’ not be able to gain this much following. But well, she is Deepika Padukone; if anyone can gain it all back, it’s her. So even if she did, it would take some time.

“Very logical, Deep! Tell me you aren’t Aries.”

Twitter also has just this one tweet. All the other 670 tweets have been deleted.

Here Is Where You Can Find COVID Vaccination Centers In Karachi

COVID Vaccination

COVID peaked in Pakistan in early March and soon sent the country into lockdown mode. The government had to react to the situation to contain the spread and keep the hospitals functioning effectively. And therefore, various city centers were turned into quarantine zones. Karachi Expo center was one of those quarantine centers.

COVID in Pakistan

The first of covid was effectively controlled. But then people just had to get used to the spread of covid because life couldn’t just stop. And when the second wave hit, people had given up on the idea of quarantine centers. But now that the COVID vaccination is out, it is only time to keep Pakistan away from it. Soon the vaccine curators will send it our way as well. Hopefully, they will do before the virus has mutated to an extensive degree and the vaccine is still usable.

Karachi Expo Centre Becomes COVID Vaccination Point

So to administer the vaccine, the Sindh Government is planning to create vaccination centers. And just like Expo became the quarantine center, it will also become the COVID vaccination center. Sindh Health Minister, Dr. Azra Pechuho, has said on Thursday that they are planning to do so. She visited Expo to see the arrangements for herself. That will also include the cold chain being curated to keep the vaccine in the low temperatures as instructed by the experts.

She also mentioned that the vaccination would be conducted in different phases. The first phase will include vaccinating healthcare workers. And so the authorities have to prepare the list for the frontline personnel.

Fawad Chaudhry, the Federal Minister for Science and Technology, mentioned that the country is buying 1.2 million doses of vaccine. They are buying it at the beginning of the year from China’s Sinopharm. As for the trials happening in Pakistan, the Can Sino Biologics’ vaccine is in the phase III trials.

Samsung Confirms Galaxy S21 Series For 2021

Samsung release of S21

There are many developments being made in the technological sector these days. The advancements are not just related to gaming or smartphones, they extend further towards automobiles as well. Tesla is moving upward at a brisk pace. Similarly, newer and newer graphics cards are being released. Nvidia’s new RTX is a colossal beast and is definitely worth the investment.

Its capabilities stretch far beyond anything we’ve experienced so far. When it comes to Apple, their new M14 chip is being considered the stuff of legends. It’s potential goes so far, it is astonishing and shocking the audience. Similarly, Samsung is making its mark as we enter into the new year. Let us see how what new developments are they bringing forward. They released a video which states their plan and explores upon the colorful history that they are proud of.

An Era Of Samsung

Yes, the era of Samsung is also now. Apple is not the only company on a swift ascend in this uncertain era. The pandemic has forced us indoors, and its new variants are raging across the borders of countries. The race towards the vaccine was a fierce one, and it’s going through even more developments every day.

Amidst all this, Samsung is set to release a few new variants of a new phone. We are talking about the Samsung Galaxy S21 series. The release is expected to be in early January, but what exactly will they be releasing? There is more to it!

New Year Developments

The company confirmed a Display Tech Event for January 6th. That is less than a week away, and much is to be anticipated. So far, we know that the company intends to release three variants of the Samsung Galaxy S21. These will be the base version, the S21+, and the S21 Ultra. It is similar to their S20 series in the sense of variants.

In Northern America, the phone is to be released with the SnapDragon 888. It is the latest chipset made by the company that brings you state-of-the-art technology. Otherwise, the chipset will be of Exynos. It is not quite as formidable as the Snapdragon, but it still holds its own in battle. All of this was shown in a video on the ‘Samsung US’ youtube channel. The video also cycles through older products in the S-Series, taking the user on a nostalgic trip. It finally ends with the latest expected release. The release of the video itself was quite subtle.

Samsung S21 release

Moving Forward

We have still yet to see how this plays with the audience. The year is new, and they are expecting a fresh start. Everybody wishes to forget the prime event of last year. They want to see something cheerful and positive.

Samsung is set to release the Exynos variant by 12th January. That is less than two weeks away. We hope that the new S21 delivers the same that it usually does. Samsung releases in the S-Series are considered flagship ones and are worth the buy.

Pakistanis Vote For The Best TVC Of 2020

2020 has been a very dynamic year in terms of events, incidents, and activities. There were pandemics, fires, blasts, and earthquakes. Since advertising is usually made to reflect the year’s happenings, brands did that while dealing with the consequences of the events. They created ads during the lockdown and did a fabulous job at that. And now, in a renowned marketers’ Facebook group, people are voting on the Best TVCs of 2020.

The Pakistanis have assembled a list of Pakistani TVCs made in 2020, and they are voting. Up til now, there has been quite a long list, but we have collected only 10 of them. We would also like to say that we hadn’t numbered them according to which one we found the best but had the most votes when the list was extracted.

1. Amreli Steels

Amreli Steels had an ad featuring Shabbir Jan and Hajra Yameen, among other stars. It sure had a great narrative, and it created a heart touching parallel with the character of a loving and caring father.

2. Coke – Karachi is Love

Karachi is love, an ad campaign by Coca Cola is also second on the list.

3. Pepsi – Millions of Meals

This ad discussed poverty and how the pandemic would have adversely affected low-income families.

4. KPK Govt – Bashrullah 6 foot ka faasla

UNDP and KPK government created a public service ad aimed at reminding people about the COVID measures. The words were catchy, indeed.

5. Tapal – Meri Family Meri Strength

Tapal Family Mixture, by its name, suggests that it’s a family product. And they reiterated that in their ad Meri Family Meri Strength.

6. Kashmir Cooking Oil – Family Traditions

The recency effect that this ad by Kashmir Oil is in the top 5, but it was also a great initiative. Instead of having a woman cook food while the men of the house play, they chose a different plot and applied it.

7. Chocolatto – It’s Special Inside

What can we say other than it reminds us of Priyanka Chopra?

Other ads on the list were Bisconni’s Iss Baar Eid Kese Hogi and Fast Cable’s Ghar Ek Baar Banta hai. These are indeed great ads, but if we were choosing the best TVC, we should also have included Reem Rice’s ad that featured Mahira Khan. The ad where they created a rendition of Allama Iqbal’s poem, and Mahira Khan relays it, captures the viewers until the end.

Samsung Vice President Sentenced To Prison For Nine Years In Bribery Case

Samsung Electronics Vice President has been sentenced to prison for nine years in a case that led to the downfall of their former President Park Guen-hye. Prosecutors demanded that the length of the sentencing of Vice President, Jay. Y Lee is justified, considering the influence of Samsung over South Korean economy and as it holds the position of being one of the largest companies in the world and the biggest family-owned conglomerate in South Korea.

Background Of The Case

The Korean Herald reported that in the final hearing, the prosecutors claimed that the influence and strength of Samsung’s empire is so much that analysts, policy-makers and experts often divide the market into Samsung and Non-Samsung segments. The final ruling of the case has been scheduled for 18th January 2021.

There is also another case ongoing involving Vice President, Samsung Electronics, Jay. Y Lee over accusations regarding fraud in the books of accounts and stock-price manipulation and it is predicted that the odds are not in his favor. The proceedings for that case began in October 2020.

In 2017, Lee was convicted for bribing Park and her close associate Choi-Soon-sil and was sentenced to five years in prison, the case which led to a series of investigations against Senior Samsung Electronics’ officials. The prosecutors alleged that Lee-Kun Hee bribed certain influential people to buy the Government of South Korea’s support in backing his control over Samsung, which he would inherit from his father who was the Chairman of the company at that time.

The scandal was so massive that it led to his impeachment, and a 25 year sentence which was later reduced after Park’s lawyers appealed upon which he was released in 2018. In August 2019, the Supreme Court Of South Korea overturned the ruling, calling it too lenient.

The Chairman of Samsung, Lee Kun-hee Passed Away In October 2020:

The Chairman of Samsung, Lee Kun-hee who transformed the company and made it to be one of the biggest companies in the world and turned it into a tech giant passed away two months back in October 2020 after suffering a heart attack. He was the wealthiest person in South Korea and had an estimated worth $20.7 Billion according to the tax records in the South Korean tax system. Fortune Magazine reported that his heirs would be potentially liable for estate-taxes worth $10 Billion dollars which explains the reason why the family and its business empire is so influential in the South Korean Economy.
