LUX Style Awards 2020

The 19th edition of the LUX Style Awards happened virtually this year. With so much that has happened this year, the usual dose of LSA oomph was something all audiences looked forward to. The platform has been celebratory of exceptional works in the fashion and entertainment industry and has always rolled out an exceptional high voltage of stars and the uber-talented to showcase their individual sense of style.

While we never expected the virtually recorded red carpet to have the pizazz and drama of a throng of milling media and beautifully dressed well-loved stars, we did see our favourites looking healthy and svelte, reassuring their audiences of good times to come. In today’s socially distant settings, the celebrities individually put out their diverse looks – from pastel saris to predominantly black ensembles – the 19th LSA had it all. Here are some of our favorite looks from the carpet!

Sarwat Gilani, was sexy in black embellished chiffon sari by Kanya Couture and sported a gorgeous, smoky-eyed look  – the perennial star with diamonds in her ears and had a big smile to congratulate all winners.

Youmna Zaidi, who has won hearts with her iconic performances on TV, won Best Actress and wore Zainab Salman’s pink and silver sari also accessorized with traditional diamond jewellery.

Our Laal Kabootar leading lady – Mansha Pasha was spotted in a ghaghra choli variation by Zuria Dor and accessorized her floaty ensemble with minimal makeup and jewelry by Sherezade Rahimtoola @Sherezadjewellery

Mehar Bano, fresh off the success of her latest TV serial Churails, was spotted in a full-length pastel t-shirt dress with pleats by Misha Lakhani. With floral details and a beautiful fitting, the dress stands out in elegance. The star also presented the award for Best Hair and Make-up artist for the night alongside Sarwat Gilani.

The show-stopper at the red-carpet was the host Mushk Kaleem who rocked her two unique looks, both in sophisticated black, styled by Rao Ali Khan. The supermodel got into the virtual spirit of the show by changing her clothes every day. The first segment was recorded in a sleek full sleeved leather gown by Zaheer Abbas. The following day, the official red-carpet host sported a shoulder-cape gown by international designer Sophia Bognem.

The dapper male celebrities also made an appearance on the red carpet with their dashing looks.  Imran Ashraf was seen in sophisticated eastern wear looking striking in his traditional black eastern Sherwani by Nauman Arfeen. Our favorite for his character of “Bhola”, Imran also won the award for Best TV Actor Viewer’s Choice for “Ranjha Ranjha Kardi”

Zahid Khan was all suited to look like his handsome self in Emran Rajput’s fashionable wear. With slick back hair and a darker colored waisted suit, the talented actor looked sleek and smart. The actor also won the award for his out of the box performance in “Ishq Zah e Naseeb” as the Best TV Actor – Critic’s Choice.

Supermodel Hasnain Lehri definitely made a statement with his bespoke suit by Ismail Farid. Known for his bold and very professional presence on-ramp, the supermodel carried the velvet suit with utmost class. Hasnain has bagged four LSAs so far for Male Model of the Year.

Sana Safinaz’s Creative Director, Mohsin Ali Tawasuli rocked his own gold blazer over an all white suit and accessorised it with glitzy eyewear. A delighted Mohsin accepted two more LUX Style Awards later that night, bringing up the Sana Safinaz tally to a record-setting thirteen LUX Style Award statues in 19 years

With many other celebrities joining Mushk on the carpet individually, this year’s LUX Style Awards showed immense diversity and glamour as leading personalities from fashion, film, music and television made sure they put their best looks out there.
