There’s A New Chef In Town & He’s Absolutely Adorable!

We just found our daily dose of cuteness to get us through the day.

While skimming through a plethora of content on social media, a certain chefling caught our attention. Just look at him in his cute little chef attire, isn’t he just adorable?

This little munchkin is the star of the latest series by the name of “Somebody Feed Me” from the house of up-and-coming entertainment platform kartoos which has recently been making waves in the social content scene of Pakistan. The entertainment platform caught our attention earlier with originals such as “Meri Playlist” hosted by none other than Kashmir The Band’s lead vocalist Bilal Ali and their much-loved series within the gaming community “Versus” which was spearheaded by Pakistan’s most loved content creator Irfan Junejo

Now, back to the little chefling who has managed to woo us with his charming personality. The little munchkin has starred in multiple episodes of the new series in which he attempts to cook his favorite food in the kitchen. Here’s the little roadrunner trying his hand at making a Pizza

Isn’t he just cuteness overload? This little mischief-maker has so far appeared in a couple of episodes and to be honest we can’t seem to get enough of his adorable antics and ever-so-innocent shenanigans. Here’s our little superstar making what looks like a mouthwatering shake which he has named as “Yum Yum Shake”.

By the looks of the recently launched episode on Kartoos, the little MasterChef is here to stay and continue his adventure in the kitchen providing us with our daily fix of entertainment and cuteness.

All we can hope for is that we are able to watch this little munchkin stir up some amazing food with a dash of mischief for a long long time.

Haniya Khan, the alleged wife of Aamir Liaquat, had gone to social media with her allegations a few days back. People paid attention to what she had to say but only with the idea of trolling Aamir Liaquat. Meanwhile, no one gave her any screentime.

Since then, she has tried taking to social media some pieces of evidence of her being in conversation with the entertainer, Dr. Amir Liaquat. From her video call screenshots to the recordings of his audio calls, she leaked it all. Once again, people trolled the scholar turned entertainer and no one paid any heed to the girl.

Haniya Khan goes live

So this time, Haniya Khan went live on Facebook sharing how she is angry at Aamir Liaquat for neither taking her with him nor divorcing her. She even says that she is angry at the entire city of Karachi who has sided with Aamir Liaquat and no one gave her any support. The video that started out normally became alarming all of a sudden. Exasperated at the Pakistani population’s response, she said she was suicidal and was going to drown at the sea without anyone knowing.

Whatever the issue is, if someone is sharing their suicidal thoughts, that is a cry for help. People should reach out to her. And if you cannot do that, then at least do not make negative comments that could push her down the cliff.

Haniya Khan – Father

While Haniya was going live, Aamir Liaquat shared a video of a man who claimed to be Haniya’s father. In that video, he said he is not aware of any marriage that happened, he only knows that his daughter is a patient of depression.

First of all, a depressed person doesn’t go around lying so even if she is suffering from any mental illness, it is at least not depression. This leads to another point. If he really is her father and has gotten Haniya diagnosed then should he not know exactly what she is suffering from. Moreover, he also says that once Aamir Liaquat came to their house and had helped them but he left after that.

Well, this is shady!

Pakistani Tutors Teaching English To Students In USA

This decision was taken by Bee Hall who is on the leadership team at the City University of
Los Angeles, and by Zetha Nobles who has served as the Principal of several private
schools. “Pakistani teachers who are fluent in English understand the structure of the
language and can better serve the needs of our students,” said Nobles.

The pandemic has shaken the education system to its core. Online school classes, where
there is a ratio of 25 students to 1 teacher are not as effective as they seem. There are two
problems with this model. The first problem is that although a 25 to 1 ratio works in a
physical classroom, however, this ratio becomes chaotic to manage during an online class.
The second problem is that students who are falling behind, unfortunately, do not get the
attention they need.

Lincoln Method solves these two problems by offering private online tutors in small class
sizes (of 3 to 5 students), where the tutor is able to identify the weak area of each student
and help the student improve. Saleem Qureshi, Chairman of Lincoln Method said, “We
never give up on a child; that is what makes us special”.

Lincoln Method is an online learning platform that helps students learn with a tutor, either
in small groups or learn one-on-one. The platform is also being used by parents who

Among the many vehicles entering Pakistan daily, it is time to add yet another one to the list. Yes, we are expecting yet another one to make an appearance. This one is by Hyundai and is going by the name of Sonata. It has some impressive specifications that we are going to dive into soon. It gives off quite an exquisite vibe and there is a lot of potential for it in Pakistan.

First off, right off the bat, let us mention that the vehicle has quite a lot of ‘James Bond’ vibe to it. Maybe that just might be enough to catch your eye for the car. Yes, the car has this aura where it might belong to an international spy. The design is quite streamlined as well as symmetrical. One can tell that the car is definitely built for speed.

General Design Of Sonata

From the designs that we have checked, the car has the dimensions of a sedan. It has extremely comfortable seats and one cannot help but keep sitting on them. Under The Hood

Coming to the details of the power, it is expected to be a 2.5-litre engine. Yes, that is quite a lot of capacity and an immense amount of horsepower. However, it makes sense considering their older models housed a lot of power too. The 2006 model alone ran on a 2.4 Litre engine. There is also a 2.9 Litre hybrid version available in the new upcoming one. The variants are available in a 6-speed automatic transmission. Although, other variants also have 8 speed automatic or 8-speed DCT.

The drive is available in four different modes. These are Smart, Comfort, Eco and Sport. You know what might happen when you are going for a sport mode! From an ABS system, Electronic Stability Control, Hill-Start assist, to a tire pressure monitoring system, the car has it all. Sonata comes with front side and passenger side airbags, alongside a drive knee airbag.

Cheering for Sonata

We are not yet sure of what the exact price is going to be. However, we can say that the standard version is going to cost around Rs.60 to Rs.70 lac. While this is so, the higher variants could go as up as Rs.80 lac or more.

We hope Hyundai releases more vehicles here so that there is more diversity. It is time for a plethora of new vehicles to enter Pakistan.

Governor Sindh Visits K-Electric’s BQPS-III Power Plant, Reviews Swift Progress Of Unit One

Karachi, May 04, 2021: Governor Sindh Imran Ismail visited K-Electric’s Bin Qasim Power Station-III (BQPS-III) project to review the progress on the latest addition to Karachi’s power network. The visit followed a meeting between KE’s Senior Leadership and the Governor Sindh where KE presented an update on the company’s preparedness for Ramadan and the 2021 summer season.

BQPS-III is a USD 650 million project which will be adding 900 MW of generation capacity to KE’s existing network. This mega-project is progressing on the back of close collaboration between leading engineering firms who are partnering with KE to achieve a shared vision of empowering Karachi. Work is progressing swiftly, and the first unit of 450 MW is over 70% complete and is expected to come online in the next 5 to 6 weeks. The high-efficiency plant will be utilizing RLNG as its primary fuel source. Not only is this expected to reduce the carbon footprint, the inclusion of RLNG will further diversify the company’s fuel mix and bring savings by lowering import costs for the government by eliminating the need for furnace oil.
KE officials were joined by senior representatives from Siemens, SSGC, and PLL, who apprised the Governor of the progress on the construction of a spur pipeline which will be supplying 150mmcfd of gas to BQPS-III, which is keeping pace with the plant’s progress and is also over 90% complete. The underlying Gas Supply Agreement between SSGC and PLL is also in advanced stages and is expected to be finalized as soon as necessary approvals are received from the Government, ensuring an adequate supply of fuel to energize the plant.

Commenting on his visit, Governor Imran Ismail said,

“The sincerity of the Government of Pakistan is evident in the support they have extended to KE, and I am pleased to see that Sehr and Iftar times during this Ramadan are exempt from load-shed as a result. I’m monitoring the situation daily to ensure that the best possible facilitation is given to the citizens of Karachi. Seeing the scale and progress of work and the commitment with which KE is working, I feel positive for the future of the city. KE’s management and representatives from Siemens, SSGC, and PLL have assured me that they are working to complete the project on time, and I have instructed them to resolve any bottlenecks that may affect the energization of the plant which is expected to be inaugurated by the Honorable Prime Minister. In this process, I have also assured them of my fullest support from my office and from the Government of Pakistan.”
CEO K-Electric, Moonis Alvi said, “We’re grateful to the Governor Imran Ismail sahab and our partners at Siemens, SSGC, and PLL for visiting BQPS-III today. The timely execution of this project is critical to meet Karachi’s future demand, and we are all working around the clock to ensure the same. I also want to commend the Government of Pakistan for their support to KE and Karachi, especially during Ramadan which has enabled us to fully support Karachi’s power requirements. We look forward to this support in the summer months as well. Without their assistance and collaboration, it would not be possible for us to realize this dream for Karachi.”

Speaking with media during his visit to under construction BQPS-III site, Mr. Imran Maniar, Managing Director Sui Southern Gas Company Limited (SSGCL) said, “It is very important for us to work together with KE which is also our largest customer. Timely energization of this plant is necessary and we are working with KE to ensure their RLNG requirement is met. SSGC is pleased to be playing its role in this process.”

This Firm Gets In Trouble For Reusing COVID Nasal Swabs

COVID pandemic has created obstacles for almost all operations. To continue working, traveling, or basically anything in life, we need to get our covid tests done and hope for a negative result. But getting tested is so scary considering the options are nasal swabs and oral swabs only.

But isn’t it scarier to know that the nasal swab that the professionals use to test you was actually reused?

Well, it happened in Indonesia. This pharmaceutical company by the name of Kimia Farma in Indonesia has been blamed for reusing nasal swabs on people who come to get their COVID status tested. Imagine, someone’s nasal fluids in your nasal pathway.

After this allegation was made, several employees were arrested.

More than 9000 affected

But how many could have fallen prey to this atrocity? It is suspected that at least 9,000 passengers in the airport at Medan were tested with reused swabs.

The company might face a lawsuit for this crime because it did not happen accidentally. The swabs were systematically washed to be reused further. The scam has been in operation since December 2020. Some people had noticed that they were getting a false positive. To get to the depth of this, an undercover policeman was sent to investigate. He pretended to be a traveler and was swabbed for COVID through a nasal swab. He got a positive result.

The rest of the officers swooped in at that moment and found a recycled used test kit.

They now stand accused of breaking health and consumer laws.

Lawsuit around the corner

What is even more ruthless is that it is being suspected that one of the employees used the profits in the construction of a lavish house. Kimia has since then fired those employees who may have been involved in this scam and promised to be more careful in the future. Meanwhile, lawyers have started rolling in preparing for a lawsuit.

They are expecting to get 1bn Indonesian Rupiah for each affected passenger.

The video also ends with a poignant note in the loving memory of Ghulam Farid Sabri, Maqbool Ahmed Sabri, and Amjad Sabri. These legends performed this multilingual naat based on Kalaam by Hazrat Bedam Shah Warsi which now Zafar covers.

[Update]: Japan had announced that it will be bringing in young Pakistani talent. This news has further solidified with Japan specifying the priority fields. The field is Information Technology (IT). Considering the country is way ahead in technology, and their population is an aging population, it only makes sense that they would want to import young talent for their IT.

Of course, to be eligible you need degrees, skills, and the knowledge of Japanese language. If you fulfill this criterion, you may even find companies that readily fund travel and accommodation for professionals.

Japan is soon to offer job opportunities to Pakistani students as a government-to-government Memorandum of Understanding (MoU). The signing ceremony of a Memorandum of Cooperation (MoC) between the Overseas Employment Corporation (OEC) and Inter-SES. The partnership means exploring employment opportunities for Pakistani students by reaching out to IT companies in Japan.

The MoC is signed by OEC Managing Director Kashif Noor and Inter-SES Chief Executive Officer Zafar Mahmood at the signing ceremony of a Memorandum of Cooperation (MoC) Overseas Employment Corporation (OEC) and Inter-SES.

The Ambassador of Japan Mentioned 

The Japanese Ambassador, Matsuda Kuninori, said, “We want to promote the Japanese language education here mostly to benefit the Pakistanis who want to go to Japan for employment. Therefore, I visited some universities and wanted to visit more, but the current coronavirus crisis impeded the plan. As soon as the things return to normal, we will ensure the speedy work on the proposed Japanese language courses”.

“Pakistan is no more a dangerous place to travel. So I see tourist and business arrivals from Japan go up in the next few years,” he added. Regarding travel guidelines for Pakistanis, he mentioned, “We will downgrade Pakistan in terms of security threat.”

The embassy will bring Japanese language teachers who can work together with Pakistani teachers to help students learn the language. Furthermore, he adds that the country is also going to collaborate on the academic front with Pakistani universities, which could ultimately help Pakistanis get employment in Japan.

Zulfikar Bukhari, the spokesperson to PM Imran Khan, mentioned. “Since Japan is an aging population and will be needing around 5, 00,000 of the workforce in future, it is our priority to fetch maximum quota for Pakistan out of this.” 

Japanese Ambassador Kuninori Matsuda added, as of today, above 30,000 Pakistanis were living and working in Japan. Pakistanis were among the most constructive and law-abiding members of society in Japan, he commented.

He mentioned, that they have high trust in the capabilities of Pakistani youth, particularly in the IT sector.

“Spread good words about Japan and Pakistan relations, particularly in human resource,” he remarked while addressing the media.

Burger King has started to test eco-friendly packaging to promote sustainability. The initial plan will be to run in 51 company-owned restaurants in Miami, where the company is based. The latest endeavor involves testing sustainable packaging. The products include the chain’s most-used guest items, forks, spoons, knives, straws, drink lids, Frypods, Whopper wrappers, and napkins.

Green Packaging Pilot Program By Burger King 

The program is launching under the “green packaging pilot program.” The company will be working with Coca-Cola and Kraft Heinz on this pilot program. Eco-friendly alternatives include cutlery made with a plant-based plastic called cPLA. Also, napkins will be made with 100% recycled fiber and Frypods with renewable unbleached virgin paperboard. The company is also going to test paper and plant-based straws along with strawless lids. This step could eliminate up to 500 million single-use plastic straws annually from participating US Burger King restaurants. This step would alone translate to the removal of 910 metric tons of greenhouse gasses per year.

The Press Release 

“This pilot allows us to gain knowledge and provide learnings for the industry. At the same time, as we get one step closer to our goal. The advancing packaging sustainability by improving materials and reducing overall packaging used, including single-use plastics,” the corporate stated in a press release.

“We will also be testing paper and plant-based straws along with strawless lids, which can potentially eliminate up to 500 million single-use plastic straws annually from participating U.S. Burger King restaurants. This action alone would translate to the removal of 910 metric tons of greenhouse gasses per year. The equivalent of 196 vehicles driven for one year,” Burger King says in a written statement.

“Sustainable packaging is a cornerstone of our Restaurant Brands for Good journey, and this new pilot represents a huge opportunity for us to make a difference,” said Matthew Banton, head of innovation and sustainability at Burger King, in a press release.

“We’re optimistic about our progress. In addition, we are going to commit to reducing waste to do our part in creating a more sustainable future.”

The program is yet to launch but will soon reach New York, Portland, Tokyo, Paris, and London.

Using social media to find jobs has become the new normal in the increasingly digitized world. Not to mention, a lot of people have lost their jobs to the pandemic, which makes them more inclined to finding jobs on almost any forum they can find. This is exactly how people tumbled across this fake job ad. Some people may have fallen to this scam, but others caught it, and they are finding it hilarious.

Using the name of Coca-Cola, this phishing scam makes their fake job ad as believable as one can. At a glance, anyone would fall for it.

Why? Because of the name of the page they posted it with, it used the exact spelling without any typos. Moreover, the color scheme they use in the design follows the font consistent with the brand. Does it not look like it?

But when it comes to looking for jobs, we should be extremely careful. While this fake job ad does look convincing, we have to give it more than one glance.

After that glance, when we move on to reading the text, we begin seeing issues.

In the second line, we find the phrase, “most famous second-grade companies.” Would Coca-Cola or any good brand ever call itself second grade? No.

In the third sentence, we can also see the brand name misspelled. It reads, Cocca Colla. A brand would NEVER misspell their name; employees would get fired for it.

Throughout the copy, you can also pick up grammar mistakes.

But the best of all is the website address which is not a legit one, rather a Blogspot address.
