Apple may be the powerhouse of technology but not all of its gadgets should be bought. Some may be too pricey for what they offer while others are simply not that impeccable now.

1. iMac

You should avoid buying iMac because even its latest version is now a year old. There are far more cutting edge technologies out there that can be bought now instead.

Apple’s efforts of promoting the Mac through “Behind the Mac” ads can only convince us to a certain extent. However, we can not believe the unbelievable which is that Macs have a longer lifespan than a PC. This gadget, like many of Apple’s Mac editions, is in desperate need of a refresh.

2. iMac PRO

What you must know about the iMac Pro is that it was once a powerhouse. It is still powerful, useful and shiny and posh. However, it’s hard to justify a price tag starting at $5,000 for something as outdated as this!.

Even Apple at Silicon Valley knows there’s a timeline for each product. This one has outlived its own.

3. APPLE TV FIFTH-GEN

This gadget is also a hard pass. Apple’s 5th-generation Apple TV is built around the A10X Fusion processor which is its attraction. It also comes with a choice of 32GB or 64GB of storage and was last updated over a year ago.

Again, a great product, however, the starting price tag of $179 is unreasonable. This was first released in October 2015.

4. IPAD MINI

The iPad is currently living its forgotten glory. Its demand hasn’t been updated or been supportive for two years now. People are rarely looking for a small iPad. The iPad Mini gadget is only a good choice if you want a small tablet with Apple Pencil support.

5. IPOD TOUCH

This is the last of the iPods! The iPod touch is also coming to the two-year-old mark and while that is not very old, it is not worth investing in. The function of the iPod can be performed by any other Apple product you can get today. This gadget has an A10 Fusion chip, 4-inch display, with a maximum capacity of 256GB. However, it demands a $199 to $399 price tag mainly to maintain the legacy of the product.

This particular list is special because it is based upon the public’s nominations. It is decided upon by the top business minds and entrepreneurial superstars from across the globe.

This Year’s Pakistani Nomination

Mariam Nusrat is the sole founder of GRID (Gaming Revolution for International Development). She is a current resident of Virginia, United States and holds a master’s degree in Economics from the Lahore University of Management Sciences (LUMS). Her journey is making waves internationally as she has also been covered by George Washington University in the United States.

Her startup has been leading an interdisciplinary team of Pakistan-based game developers and designers for the last six years. GRID basically aims to solve major world problems by creating games that stimulate positive behavioural changes. So far, the team has created eight portfolio games that can be played in five different languages. These games have audiences in 18 different counties with about 15 thousand downloads.

What Is The Philosophy?

Mariam, the founder, believes that behavioural change can be controlled. It “cannot be born, contextual realities cannot be ignored, and innovation cannot wait [until] tomorrow.”

As a result, GRID also kills two birds with one stone. They also cover 60% of the United Nations’ Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). The games cover a variety of topics, including reproductive health, climate change, health pandemics, animal welfare, STEM learning, and structural racism.

Besides this, Mariam is also working on another initiative called Breshna. It is expected to be launched on July 16. This project will allow people to create games without writing a single line of code.

But the fact, that it shows the Pakistani girl more fierce, and the Indian boy more traumatized gives the vibe that India is suffering more.

We haven’t yet seen the web series so we do not know what the story is. Since the Zee5 channel is an India property, maybe just maybe the story is Pro India. But the problem is that seventy four years, there has always been hatred between the two nations.

Soldiers suffer the most

Whenever there is a conflict on state level, there is a direct effect on the borders. Whether we suffer or not, the soldiers from both sides suffer losses. And the families of the soldiers have to go through even worse; having to lose their loved ones. It is a story about that. It is a story about losses on both sides. Because the truth is; the conflict between India and Pakistan, does take lives of soldiers more than anyone else.

If we start preaching love instead of hatred, maybe we won’t lose as many soldiers as we do fighting on the Indo-Pak border or fighting for Kashmir. But does standing for love makes it alright to compromise on your patriotism? This question requires some brainstorming.

Child Molester Madrasa Cleric Confesses To Allegations

[Update]: Arrested yesterday, the madrasa cleric has finally confessed to sexually assaulting the teenage student. He agreed to the charges and tells the police that the video statement he issued was because he did not want to be kicked out from the madrasa.

The mufti and his sons were arrested by tracking their mobile phones.

Madrasa cleric who was exposed when the victim secretly shot the video of harassment, was finally arrested. Mufti Azizur Rehman was arrested from Mianwali where he had ran off when the police was out to capture him. Today, he was arrested in a raid. The raid was led by Lahore Model Town CIA Deputy Superintendent of Police (DSP) Hasnain Haider.

They are now bringing him back to Lahore where he will be prosecuted. IGP Punjab said in a tweet that they aim to make the society safer for the children from the child molesters.

Madrasa, literally, a place of teaching (in general), is now only used to refer to a place of religious teaching. Yet, in such a place, we come across numerous incidents relating to molestations, rapes, and whatnot. Unfortunately, there is no accountability when it comes to madrasa cleric(s).

In the recent incident, a student leaked the video exposing Mufti Azizur Rehman. The accused is a seventy-year-old religious cleric and he is also the Vice Ameer of Jamiat Ulema-e-Islam. He was sexually assaulting a teenage boy, enrolled in the madrasa. The video became viral two days ago.

Alongside that leaked video, the victim shared a message claiming that he is hiding because the molester’s sons have threatened to kill him. The video shows the survivor to be in utter distress.

But of course, while even just the unproven allegation of blasphemy can lead to kill fatwas, the documented molester only received a termination letter. The madrasa he worked at issued a letter saying that he has been fired effective 3rd June 2021. They came to this decision after the committee met and seeing the leaked video. At the end of the letter, they ordered him to immediately leave the premises.

He has also been suspended from his political responsibilities.

Mufti Azizur Rehman shares his story

As the whole scene plays out, Mufti Azizur Rehman decided to share his point as well. He, in fact, categorically denied his role in the video. Hoping to paint himself as pious, he said that this was a conspiracy against him. His argument was that he wasn’t even moving that much. Hence, clearly, he was drugged by the “character-less” boy.

Plus, he went on to say that it has been two weeks but my accuser is in hiding. Trying to use it to his advantage, he said that it is never the wronged who runs.

Well, hello mister, if the boy did not run, your son would have killed him for exposing you!

According to Punjab Police, they cannot carry out any investigation unless a report is filed. First and foremost, why is it that we are forcing out a threatened person to come and file a report? Also, why are we not making the world safe that the victim approach the authorities without fearing for their lives? It is high time authorities started looking at each issue independently. Why? because, at most times, there are external factors that make it difficult for the issue to be handled in the usual way.

Biryani Restaurant Owner Booked For Beating Customer In Karachi

We love eating food, and we love dining out but ever since COVID lockdown was imposed only very limited options were available. Now that we are witnessing some relaxation in dining out, any place that is open and affordable is the highlight of everyone’s life. The biryani restaurant in Liaquatabad, Karachi, was one such place.

However, the staff at the restaurant beat up the customer when he went to the counter to ask for his money back. Apparently, the customer had been waiting for a long time and he just did not want to continue much further. Probably exhausted by the number of customers or the fact that a canceled order would reflect in the staff’s salary, the worker beat the customer up.

Later when the divisional officer visited the scene, there was no trace of any weapon or stolen items being implicated on the injured citizens.

The event happened on Friday but it took the police some time to take notice of it. In fact, it was after the CCTV footage went public. After that, the police booked the restaurant owner. This goes to indicate that the staff did this on the indication of the owner. The owner has run away and is in hiding so the police were not able to take him into custody.

Another violent incident in Karachi

There is yet another horrible incident in Karachi. Apparently, the police opened fire and injured two citizens. An internal inquiry by the police led to the arrest of four personnel. These policemen, according to the department, opened fire on alleged burglars when they did not stop when being asked to.

It seems that the unpredictable weather is getting to the Karachiites. The uncertainty of the Karachi rains is keeping everyone agitated. Hopefully, everything will work out once it rains and the consequences are not as dire as last year.

Nida Yasir’s strategy to deal with the stealing on the streets was to forget that stealing can happen inside hotels too. She put her “3 rings and a pendant” all made of diamond, in a pouch. Then she hid that pouch in a bag. Now here’s the best part: she did not put that bag in a locker.

She let that bag remain inside the hotel room in plain sight because she did not think anyone would steal it from here. Nida Yasir, being the traveller she claims herself to be, didn’t know that room cleaners come in absence of tourists?

When Did She Find Out?
