Top 5 Worst Sports Cars Ever Manufactured by Audi, BMW & Mercedes

failed luxury cars
Credits: Techsob

Time and time again, we have brought you the best-performing, the most-affordable, and some of the best looking cars!

And this time around, we’ve decided to bring to you the worst possible sports cars some of the world’s top manufacturers have ever made!

Between their lineup of luxury, sports, and supercars, the three musketeers have not always succeeded in impressing their fans and consumers.

So without further delays, let’s take a look at some of the worst luxury sports cars:

1. Audi R8 V8

Credits: Honest John

You have to admit, so do we, the first-gen R8 is an all-time favorite. However, the reality is something very different. Reportedly, the first iteration wasn’t flawless! It was plagued with a numb driving feel, and drives faced severe issues with the frame cracking.

2. Audi TT MK1

Credits: Drive-My

This was the first-ever Audi TT to hit the streets and flunk! It used the same platform as one of the worse generations, VW Golf. Moreover, news coverage related to crashes and a massive recall due to its high-speed tarnished the sports car’s reputation.

3. BMW M235i Gran Coupe

Credits: MotorAuthority

Sadly, the BMW M235i Gran Coupe was only made to fill a hole in the market, and that’s all that it ever became.

4. BMW I8

Credits: BusinessInsider

The BMW i8 is a one-of-its-kind beauty, but it also sports many weaknesses. Looks can’t get you everything, sometimes performance also matters, well, most of the time.

5. Mercedes-Benz CLA AMG 45

Credits: Mercedes-Benz

The CLA was Mercedes-Benz’s attempt to create a second luxury entry that would be affordable to the masses. It ended up being the complete opposite with little to none focus on luxury and more emphasis on cheap quality!

Since we have named 2 Audi and 2 BMWs, we thought why not add another BMW to the list as a bonus!

6. Mercedes-Benz SL R107

Credits: Wheels.ae

At the time, the R107 generation SL Mercedes was not very well received in the markets. Let’s just say it was not a pretty sight to look at and pretty much sucked in performance too.

Have any more luxury sports cars in mind that you want to have added to this list?

Humaima Malick Says ‘Ertuğrul’ Is Totally Worth Her 35 Rupees

Diriliş: Ertuğrul has taken the entertainment industry by storm and has the masses hooked to their TV screens craving for more.

While a few celebrities such as Yasir Hussain, Shan Shahid, and Jibran Nasir called the series a ‘threat to local culture’ others extolled the series as an insightful peek into Islamic history.

One of the Pakistani starlets who recently tweeted in favor of Diriliş: Ertuğrul’s airing on PTV, is Humaima Malick. She stated that the series is worth her 35 rupees.

After seeing her tweet journalist Omair Alvi corrected her and stated that PTV’s prices have increased to Rs 100, Humaima said that even that is “totally worth it for such quality content.”

However, actor Vasay Chaudhry thought that PTV should stop charging “those 35 rupees from every Pakistani’s electricity bill”.

Popularly known as the Turkish Game of Thrones, Dirilis: Ertugrul sparked up a social media controversy, notably on Twitter, where many users were seen justifying Imran Khan’s decision by Prime Minister to have the series aired during the lockdown as an effective tactic to keep people indoors.

Earlier in 2013, the love for Turkish soaps following the sensational success of Ishq-e-Memnun had created a much stronger uproar by local celebs and producers that eventually led to restrictions being placed on foreign television shows on local channels.

Around that time, the United Producers Association was pretty vocal, and it stays to be seen how they acknowledge the renewed support for Turkish material.

With all the publicity coming to the way the series is starting in the country, the opposition and the federal government (which was instrumental in getting it on the air) are, of course, at loggerheads.

However, Ertuğrul Ghazi has continued to win over new stars, the latest being celebrity pair Ali Safina and Khaas fame Hira Tareen to join the audience.

Set in 13th century Anatolia and based on the struggle of Ertuğrul Gazi, father of Osman I – the founder of the Ottoman dynasty, Diriliş: Ertuğrul has been trending in the country ever since its first episode aired on PTV Home.

Pakistanis love the drama series, and it has become a sensation in the country. 133.38 million viewers watched the drama series from April 25-May 14, according to PTV.

With 3.67 million subscribers and episodes gaining rage daily on the social media platform, PTV’s YouTube channel has also enrolled an overall rise in its viewership.

Eid-ul-Fitr 2020: What Has Changed During The Lockdown?

COVID-19: Eid 2020
Credits: TheNewstuff

The year 2020 has changed the lives of hundreds of thousands of people around the world.

While for some, it became a symbol of hope and helped them reconnect spiritually. Whereas for others, the disasters and losses just came piling on and on.

The lockdown imposed almost globally due to the Coronavirus not only has changed the way we live our daily lives, but also the way we celebrate our traditions.

For millions of Muslims, this Eid-ul-Fitr will surely be one they’re never going to forget. This year, Eid is not only being celebrated in lockdowns; but the heart-wrenching events surrounding it have made us re-think about celebrations.

Here are some things that have changed during the lockdown:

1. No Traditional Hugs & Kisses

Eid hugs
Credits: Pinterest

To be honest, Eid is best enjoyed when celebrated with family and friends, which is what the holiday is about.

But imagine, this year, we couldn’t hug our friends to meet them, our families to greet them. No hugs, no kisses, just annoying waves!

Although its a bit saddening, we should remember that Eid will come again next year, and hopefully, before then, the novel Coronavirus will no longer be a concern.

5 Ways Eid Will Be Different This Year Amid The Lockdown

2. No Money for Eidi

eidi

Currency notes have always been known to be a carrier for the most vicious diseases and germs. This year, they have also become a vessel for the Coronavirus, which is why most people have been avoiding touching cash.

Since everyone is now going cashless and towards digital, the concept of giving eidi this year meant enough money to buy a couple of chips and pop!

3. No All-You-Can-Eat Buffets

Eid Dinner

Remember all those Eids you took granted for? You got to wear the clothes of your choice; you spend the day playing and enjoying every second, not to forget to get money as a gift! One of the essential parts of Eid was eating your heart out!

From traditional dishes like Nihari and Haleem to modern-day salvation in pasta and frozen food. Eid meant a free-buffet for many.

But this year, it was more of a 1-dish party which almost every other family had enjoyed on their own. Due to the Coronavirus, a gathering of more than 15 individuals in one place is a terrible idea, as chances of catching the virus increase, and food is an easy way to spread it!

4. Charitable & Responsible Pakistan

Though there are many negatives to the impact of the Coronavirus and being locked in, there are positives that have come forward.

Pakistan is one of the most charitable countries around the world. The brothers and sisters come together to help their fellow citizens, whether floods and earthquakes or the virus affect them.

Foundations such as JDC, Edhi Foundation, Latif Kapadia Memorial Trust, and plenty more are working day and night to provide those who are out of work and have lost their jobs with food.

Even Pakistani celebrities went out-of-their-way and gave away food packages worth hundreds of thousands of Rupees to do their part in the contribution.

5. This Importance of an Advanced Healthcare System

The lockdown proved one thing in particular that Pakistan needs to improve on its healthcare system and be ready with a plan at all times for unexpected outbreaks.

At this time, many of our frontline workers have become infected with the virus; lots have passed, several are critical, while the rest are on duty, be it Eid or their child’s birthday or their anniversary.

Their sacrifices will go down in history as martyrs who gave their lives to keep their oath and fulfill their duty towards the citizens of their country.

They’ve also taught the valuable lesson of how badly we as a country need to invest in medical aid, supplies, and other necessary equipment for survival.

7 Delightful Treats You Probably Missed Out On, This Eid

Source/ Cosmopolitan

To mark the end of Ramadan, Muslims across the globe intend to shower their loved ones with presents. From Eidi to greeting cards -something or the other is always shared with family and friends on this auspicious occasion.

So, unless the hostess has specifically asked you to bring something, don’t bring anything to supplement the menu. Your special lasagna may be a universal favorite, but it won’t necessarily complement the meal your hosts have planned.

Don’t take foodstuffs that take up valuable fridge space or that need eating up while there are still left-overs floating around. If you do want to take an edible gift along, choose something that lasts, like chocolates or dry fruit.

Due to the coronavirus pandemic, there may be no grand dinners, and families might not even celebrate, but we still wanted to bounce some ideas off of you regarding the Eid presents that you can give your loved ones during these tough times or enjoy them on your own.

Easypaisa Joins Hands with Daraz to Convert Eidi in Shopping This Eid Through Their Eidipaisa Campaign

The rapid increase in the number of players entering the technology industry in Pakistan has opened more opportunities for collaboration between tech brands looking to enhance customer experience.

An example of these partnerships is the collaboration between Daraz and Easypaisa: the result of a short interaction on Facebook between the two brands.

Minutes after Easypaisa published an ad on Facebook regarding their recent Eidipaisa campaign – which allows customers to send Eidi to their loved ones during this period of social distancing – Daraz responded which resulted in an interesting cross promotion between the two platforms.

Now Daraz is offering easypaisa customers access to many products – priced under Rs5,000 – that they could purchase on the platform with the Eidi their loved ones sent them through Eidipaisa using the Easypaisa app.

The idea is simple: the value of Eidi can only be actualized when it can be used to buy something.

Moreover, Receivers of Eidi through Eidipaisa can win an “iPhone” as an eidi gift from Daraz if they shop on Daraz through the eidi. The agility of the two brands has been the key to a unique partnership that will help make Eids across the country more joyous!

With families choosing to stay at home this Eid and restricting their visits to shops to buy presents or make purchases with their Eidi, the combination of the services being offered by Easypaisa and Daraz is the perfect solution.

We Asked Pakistanis How They Will Be Celebrating Eid 2020

We Asked Pakistanis How They Will Be Celebrating Eid 2020

There were times when there one thing we used to look forward to after fasting the whole month of Ramadan. However, this year, the situation is different. Why? It’s because the novel coronavirus pandemic has dampened the festive spirit that the holy month of Ramadan brings with it every year.

The positive energies, the vibes, and all the excitement are nowhere to be seen. This year, the month of Ramadan wasn’t as charming as it is supposed to be. The Iftar parties, celebrations, and other social gatherings have all been put to a halt. This Ramadan, people decided to sit at home to help curb the spread of this dangerous virus.

Some are still super excited to celebrate Eid, whereas, on the other hand, people are just depressed. How ARE we going to spend Eid during a lockdown?

Did you ever imagine a thing like this could happen? Celebrating Eid during a pandemic? Considering the situation, it seems like most of us will be spending time at home with our families. Maybe this year, we would spend more time with each other, finally.

An Eid like this has never been celebrated before.

So, the on-going pandemic made us curious to ask people how they will celebrate their Eid. Well, here’s what they had to say!

1. “Farmhouse party with friends & family keeping in mind all the SOP’s.”

5 Fun Activities You Can Do With Your Children On Eid

activities for kids on eid
Source/ GulfNews

The best way of making Eid memorable for your children is to spend it together as a family, remembering Allah (SWT) and reviving the Sunnah of the Prophet (saw). By celebrating Eid, you are following in the way of the Prophet and his righteous followers.

Celebrating Eid-ul-Fitr is also one way you can nurture your child’s Muslim identity while strengthening family and community ties.

So much emphasis is placed on Christmas in Western culture by the media, and even in schools that many Muslim parents feel that they need to compensate by making Eid special. It was the Prophetic practice to celebrate Eid, so for this reason, it is worthwhile to make the Eid celebration something memorable for your children.

Here are five things you can do with your children on Eid:

1. Making Eid Cards

activities with children

Let your kid write some Eid messages and make posters in three or four different languages. You can help your kid write Urdu, English, and Arabic messages. If you or your kids are not fluent in the same, you can also help find some meaningful words from the internet. You can also hang those cards at your home.

2. Envelopes Made For Eid

When having guests, relatives, or friends over, gifting them a card or take away items or money in an envelope is a nice gesture. You can purchase plain white envelopes from the store and let your kid decorate them in the vein of Eid. This could include writing Eid Mubarak in Arabic script or decorating the cards with the colors of Islam and other positive messages.

3. Enlighten Them With Muslim Culture

To make the day more special for your kids, teach them about various fun facts that are related to the Muslim culture. Tell them about the many facts and things related to the celebration and occasion of Eid.

4. Children In The Kitchen

While preparing a meal, you can ask your child to do little things such as setting up the table, handing you the ingredients like leafy greens and maybe even washing fruits. This way they’ll learn a sense of responsibility, and they’ll certainly be proud of themselves that they were a help to you.

5. Share The Joy

In the true spirit of celebrating Eid, help your kid share some joy with those who are lesser fortunate. You can involve your kids in making some food donations to a nearby shelter or orphanage.

3 iPhone Photography Tricks To Get Professional Clicks!

3 iPhone Photography Tricks To Get Professional Clicks!

If you are willing to make a strong brand or starting a business, pairing information with imagery is crucial to your success. Most people will forget the information within a few days, but the image will last in their memory for a long time.

From content marketing to social media and website graphics, high-quality photos are the need of the hour. However, you do not need to hire a professional photographer; your phone is good enough, but how? Here’s how:

1. Purchase a Photography App for your iPhone

Several professional photo apps are available for iPhone with incredible features:

CAMERA + ($ 0.99)

This app has received high praise, and it can be used to take photos and then use the Camera+ to edit as they have a vast array of filters that will make any picture look professional. It also features such as sharpness, saturation, exposure, and more.

VSCO (FREE + IN-APP PURCHASES)

VSCO has a ton of ‘Advanced’ camera features, various filter options, and the ability to connect with their community of iPhone photographers.

PRO HDR ($1.99)

This particular app allows you to take HDR pictures and adjust their light and color tones by merely tapping the screen. After the photo is received, you can adjust the brightness, saturation, warmth, and tint.

2. Utilize iPhone Photography Features

The iPhone itself has a set of top-notch photographic options that you can use to take better photos. These tips might be useful:

LENSES

The lens, as we know, is the most critical aspect of choosing a picture, however carrying your phone in the pocket or the purse could damage the glass, so make sure the lens is clean at all times.

GRID

The iPhone camera has a grid feature that helps you aligning pictures, ensuring that the position of your photo remains. It also helps you in utilizing the ‘Rule of thirds,’ which means breaking the photo down vertically and horizontally.

This will enable you to use a grid with nine squares that you could use to place the visual elements that you need. To turn the grid feature on Setting>Photos>Camera>Turn Grid On.

FOCUS AND EXPOSURE

The iPhone itself has an autofocus feature, and to focus on something, the user must tap the screen twice. To lock in the focus, press and hold it, and an AE/AF LOCK will appear.

BURST

If there is a movable object and you want to capture it, use burst by holding on the capture button, and your phone will take multiple shots at the same time. You check these shots later in your images gallery.

FLASH

The flash of the phone can be troublesome at times, so it is highly recommended to use the natural light while capturing photos.

3. Pay Attention to your Composition

USE A SIMPLE OBJECT

Don’t confuse yourself by adding different details in your picture; focus on what is necessary and the essence of what you’re trying to capture and then surround that object with an interesting background.

PLAY WITH ANGLES

If you want your photos to have that professional ‘feel,’ then you will need to get creative and play with angles. Stand on a chair, get on your knees, take shots from different positions, it will surely give a more dramatic look to your pictures.

PLAY AROUND WITH REFLECTIONS, SILHOUETTES, AND SHADOWS

These techniques will add quality to your pictures, e.g., use a reflection on water or take your photo in high contrast lighting or shoot your subject when the sun is low, creating dramatic shadows and effects.

Hopefully, this guide will prove useful and will ensure that you’ve used the iPhone camera to its fullest. Please do give us your feedback!!

This Eid, We’re Forever Grateful To Our Frontline Hereos For Fighting COVID-19

Source: Aga Khan University

Amidst the ongoing pandemic caused by COVID-19, our frontline heroes are out on the battlefield risking their lives for the rest of us. Frontline workers are working day and night to help save the lives of those affected by coronavirus.

This Eid, we must be forever grateful to our frontline heroes! It is due to them that we are celebrating this joyous occasion with our loved ones at home. Tributes have been made to the doctors, nurses, paramedics, and police across the world by individuals and organizations.

While someone is giving out free breakfast, another is giving out free air tickets to them. Why do you ask? Well, if it weren’t for them, you wouldn’t be sitting at home peacefully at the moment. As they put their lives on the line for us, we remain indoors.

Here are a few reasons on why we should be forever grateful to our frontline heroes:

  1. Their tireless dedication to fighting coronavirus

In-country like ours, these doctors, medical staff, and law enforcement officers are highly underpaid. If they’re still willing to work day and night tirelessly, then we should count ourselves pretty lucky. Doctors, nurses, and other frontline heroes have been working around the clock, going to work daily in a battle environment with an invisible enemy.

2. Risking their lives to save ours

With a shortage of personal protective equipment, masks, and other life-saving items, doctors in Pakistan are risking their lives to save ours. It has been reported that a total of about ten doctors have succumbed to coronavirus in Pakistan.

3. Pushing away their families so we can be with ours this Eid

The frontline heroes are doing their job, but at what cost? Due to fears of contamination, many doctors have separated themselves from their loving families to save them from the virus in case they were to catch it from work. Countless families will be spending Eid without their loved one as they would be performing their duty during that time.

What Can You Do for These Heroes?

The best way to help them effectively beat Covid-19 is by staying indoors as much as possible. Spend Eid at home this year, do it to have many more Eids together in the future.

We wish you all a happy Eid Mubarak! Stay home & stay safe!

Pakistanis Show The World What Generosity Looks Like During COVID-19

The Coronavirus pandemic has got the world in a state of chaos and despair. To flatten the curve, meaning curb the spread of the virus, various countries, including Pakistan, have ordered a lockdown. A massive loss of economy follows the lockdown, but to save the people from getting infected by COVID-19, this measure has been implemented.

In a country like Pakistan, a considerable chunk of the population is working on a daily wage basis; however, due to the lockdown, these people are not able to earn and are therefore at a complete loss.

Prime Minister Imran Khan also mentioned in a recent address, “25% of the population cannot afford to eat two meals a day.”

This is where the Pakistani population, that can afford to sit at home during a lockdown rise. From celebrities, NGOs to countless individuals, everybody is working towards ensuring that all those who are unable to fend for themselves during this crisis receive a regular supply of food, water, and other essentials to survive through the pandemic. This sense of unity is a welcomed sight for the sore eyes.

Pakistanis have shown the world that even though we may not have the resources to match a first world country during this crisis, we have ample of hope, empathy, and positivity that will sail us through this turbulent time.

The generosity Pakistani people have shown in this critical time is true, worth applauding.

The I-Care Foundation, headed by two individuals, has been working towards helping people with whatever necessities they need. They collect donations and then pass it on to the needy. To get in touch with them, please visit www.i-care-foundation.org.

The Kiran Foundation has collaborated with ECC to empower the minorities affected during the pandemic through the ‘Dosti Ration Campaign.’ The areas they are working in are Lyari and beyond. Kudos to them for especially thinking about those who are often neglected.

Saylani Welfare Trust is offering the underprivileged suffering due to the virus the service of Roti Bank, where they can acquire cooked food free of cost. It’s an excellent initiative from Saylani Welfare.

Robin Hood Army has partnered with Orange Tree that seems to be set up with a Dubai bank for donations with IBAN codes. This collaboration can bring funds internationally, as well.

Small home owned businesses are playing a considerable part in battling coronavirus in Pakistan. This home-based confectioner, “A whisk come true,” has decided to donate all proceeds from sales for ration.

Aamir Liaquat making food and distributing to the frontline workers helping keep us safe! Our people are full of beautiful surprises!

Maya Ali, a famous Pakistani actress, began giving out ‘ration’ bags to the needy and urged her followers to do the same. She says, “Humanity comes first.”

It is eminent to say that everyone is working together as a community to make sure no-one is left out without the necessities. Apart from ration bags, renowned designer Asim Jofa and Sweettooth owner, Umer Hussain, are both making protective gear and masks for our courageous frontline workers.

These doctors, nurses, and paramedics have been treating patients for COVID-19 with the bare essentials in some regions causing infections to spread in the medical community itself.

Rolls-Royce to Layoff 9,000 Employees Amidst Pandemic Crisis!

British multinational engineering company, Rolls-Royce, has said it will cut 9,000 jobs due to the novel coronavirus.

Moreover, it warned that it might take several years for the airline industry to recover. The derby-based firm which manufactures plane engines said the pandemic has lead to the reduction to a fifth of its workforce.

“This is not a crisis of our making. But it is the crisis that we face and must deal with,” Chief Executive Officer of Rolls-Royce Holdings Warren East said.

Rolls-Royce had a total workforce of 52,000 employees globally. Mr. East told the BBC’s Today program that the company had not yet concluded on “exactly” where the job losses would be.

But he said: “It’s fair to say that of our civil aerospace business, approximately two-thirds of the total employees are in the UK at the moment, and that’s probably a good first proxy.”

Rolls-Royce civil aerospace workers

One of the workers at the Rolls-Royce’s civil aerospace division said that while he expected there would be job cuts, the final 9,000 figure came as a massive “shock.”

“Since the Covid-19 outbreak, we knew that business would shrink,” he said.

“This company has accepted public money to furlough thousands of workers,” said Unite’s assistant general secretary for manufacturing, Steve Turner.

“Unite, and Britain’s taxpayers deserve a more responsible approach to a national emergency. We call upon Rolls-Royce to step back from the brink and work with us on a better way through this crisis.” He added.

But Mr. East said: “No government can extend things like furlough schemes for years into the future. We have to look after ourselves and make sure we meet medium-term demand.”

Pakistan’s Automotive Industry

On the other hand, Pakistan’s automotive industry is also facing something similar to what the aviation industry is going through.

The Pakistan Automotive Manufacturers Association (Pama) has recorded ‘0’ sales for the month because of the country-wide lockdown caused by the novel coronavirus.

Unfortunately for the local auto brands, the sector was already suffering from a 47% decline before the virus. After the government initiated the lockdown, the sales started to flunk even more.

Moreover, local assemblers, as per the government’s orders, had to shut down their factories and plants from 23rd March, and since then, productions have been halted.

Now that the government has eased the lockdown restrictions, making it easier for the smaller market and business owners to earn a living, there is still no telling when the local assemblers will be able to resume their production.

However, it is not yet clear how long it will take the industry to recover and get back on its feet.

Vendors Warn Lay-Off

Furthermore, vendors have warned laying-off at least 20% of their workforce asides not paying salaries to workers for April and May, whereas the automakers are keen on keeping their workforce intact.

Previously, the automotive industry giants reportedly reached out to the government asking for help so that they can get through this difficult time.

Automotive manufacturers and assemblers are demanding a waiver on minimum turnover tax for greenfield projects, the removal of Federal Excise Duty (FED) on sales and reduction of sales tax on imports.

They also want the government to introduce special rate incentives from the State Bank of Pakistan (SBP) for plying new commercial vehicles to replace the older ones that will help save the environment as well.

Nonetheless, they are stressing that the government should shelve all other previous policies to provide them some relief.

We have now to see what the future holds for the auto sector.
