Authorities have issued a warning against a TikTok challenge which is going viral and causing a fire hazard!
Parents have been told that children are using phone chargers to conduct an experiment for TikTok.
They are using the plug part of a phone charger, partially inserting it into the wall outlet, and then sliding a penny down the wall onto the exposed prongs.
This results in sparks and causes severe damage to the plug and if it goes out of hand, it can cause more damage.
Reportedly, this challenge has already caused 3 major incidents. A fire official said a student who participated in the challenge is now facing charges.
It was also found that a teacher had told the authorities that two students plugged the charger and dropped the penny causing sparks.
The other issue can be that you do damage to some electrical wiring behind the wall and a fire could be undetected and burning in the walls, endangering everyone that’s in the building, -Fire Cheif

To improve digital access, Jazz, Pakistan’s leading digital company has launched Jazz Digit 4G – ‘Pakistan ka smartphone’ (Pakistan’s smartphone).
While Pakistan boasts having some of the cheapest tariff rates for voice and data, the main barrier to the internet has been the affordability of smartphones.
To help address this barrier Jazz has partnered with KaiOS Technologies to release the Jazz Digit 4G smartphone at the most affordable price point, offering a suite of unique features.
Jazz Digit 4G becomes the most affordable smart feature phone on the global market, at a down payment of just PKR 1800 (USD 11*).
The customer is required to sign up for a one-year service with Jazz at an extremely affordable PKR 300/ month which includes 1,000 minutes, 1000MB data, free SMS and free calling to doctors along with unlimited Facebook and WhatsApp for the first 3 months.
This initiative targets the wellbeing of the lesser privileged and underserved segment of our society with over 55% of Pakistan’s 165m subscribers using the feature and 2G phones with internet penetration standing at 35%. While access to the internet is said to be the most effective driver of GDP for emerging economies.
The smartphone comes equipped with a Jazz Super 4G SIM that powers WhatsApp, Facebook, YouTube, Google Maps, Google Voice, and Jazz TV as part of the 200 and more apps they can access at the KaiStore, since the device runs on KaiOS, the third-largest mobile operating system worldwide.
With a sophisticated front-and-back camera and flash, Bluetooth, Wi-Fi, and Hotspot facility, this phone provides an almost all-inclusive feature set that any leading smartphone may have.
The launch event was attended by leading government and telecom leaders who lauded a private sector company for being invested in improving the country’s digital and financial inclusion landscape.
Special Assistant to Prime Minister on Social Protection and Poverty Alleviation and Chairperson BISP, Dr. Sania Nishtar stated, “The Ehsaas programme is the Government’s signature program dedicated towards poverty alleviation in Pakistan through leveraging technology and promoting access of the vulnerable population to digital and financial inclusion.”
She then continued, “Most of the digitally excluded segments are poor women and initiatives like KaiOS which further digital inclusion can improve outcomes significantly. Ehsaas has multiple initiatives that can utilize digital technologies to target the neediest populations effectively”
Whereas globally countries are looking to sunset 2G and focus more on 4G technology, Pakistan has been unable to effectively align with this global trend, due to regulatory policy challenges. This step by Jazz comes at the right time as the government pushes for an aggressive spectrum roadmap to propel digitalization.
Jazz CEO Aamir Ibrahim, who has been championing #DigitalPakistan for the past two years, said, “We want 2020 to start with this new device setting the benchmark for a nationwide 4G revolution. Although we have successfully tested 5G, our biggest challenge and opportunity is to take 2G customers to 4G and to offer good quality broadband to every Pakistani. We saw an inequality, and we went ahead and tried to fix it with this affordable phone.”
“We’re excited to help bring another device to the people of Pakistan,” said Sebastien Codeville, CEO of KaiOS Technologies. “The digital divide continues to be a persistent issue across the country, but we know smart feature phones, like the Digit 4G, will positively impact the lives of new users.”
Jazz celebrated its 25th-anniversary last year with a robust 60 million subscriber base, and this smartphone launch marks another milestone in the commitment to empowering Pakistan’s youth through technology.

Due to the overwhelming response from the audience, the makers of the drama ‘Mere Pass Tum Ho’ have decided to not air it on the small screen but instead air the last most anticipated episode in cinemas.
ARY Digital brought all the cast members together and also released a special episode following the release of the drama.
Rehmat Ajmal, who played a character in Mere Pass Tum Ho, says, “She is not proud to be part of the drama”.
She took it to her Instagram and penned down an extensive note of how she feels about the script.
Ajmal says, “I understand that we as artists have a social responsibility in terms of the content we produce and the messages we put forward – & that I take that responsibility with a lot of seriousness and dignity.”
She continued, “I’ve been receiving a lot of concerned, hateful and confused messages since the past few months and as much as I want to address them individually, I think I’ll just give an overview of my perspective for now.”
“I absolutely do not endorse the concepts and viewpoints of Mr. Khalil Ul Rehman. I watched Khalil ul Rehman’s interview and got to know about his problematic views on very many things WAY after the project was completed”
“I am not proud to be a part of something that is so compromising and ill-informed. However, I (like many others) was not aware of the entire storyline or Mr. Khalil ul Rehman’s ideology at the time this project was shot – which was a year ago.
“My role in this project is limited so, I did not get a chance to see how it’ll come together or how it’ll eventually unroll on television and that is where I think I slipped a little. It was my first ever telecom project and I am learning – I have learned to be cautious and more conscious with my creative choices.”
She concluded the note by saying: “Please extend new, struggling artists some leeway as we are in the process of learning – we are also trying very hard to make our own mark solely based on our merit.”

The activist group, Avaaz conducted a study and found out that the biggest companies in the world are using Youtube’s platform to spread misinformation regarding climate.
It has been reported that the agenda is being heavily funded by the business giants across the globe.
Samsung, L’Oreal, and Decathlon were a few of the brands included. However, they were unaware of the fact that their adverts were being played before and during the videos.
Avaaz discovered that more than 100 brands were advertising misinformation on Youtube videos and were very much actively promoting climate misinformation.
A senior campaigner at the group, Julie Deruy says, “YouTube should not feature, suggest, promote, advertise or lead users to misinformation.”
She added, “This is not about free speech, this is about the free advertising YouTube is giving to factually inaccurate videos that risk confusing people about one of the biggest crises of our time.”
The group argued, “YouTube has previously taken welcome steps to protect its users from anti-vaccine and conspiracy theories, but has not acted with equal force against broader misinformation and disinformation content, including climate misinformation.”
“The information promoted by these videos is in direct contradiction with L’Oréal’s commitments and the work we have been carrying out for many years to protect the environment. We are collaborating with YouTube teams asking them to use all the technological means at their disposal to better inform the platform’s users about the nature of these videos and to limit their impact.” says a spokesperson from L’Oréal.
Youtube’s statement on the matter:
“We can’t speak to Avaaz’s methodology or results, and our recommendations systems are not designed to filter or demote videos or channels based on specific perspectives. YouTube has strict ad policies that govern where ads are allowed to appear and we give advertisers tools to opt-out of content that doesn’t align with their brand. We’ve also significantly invested in reducing recommendations of borderline content and harmful misinformation, and raising up authoritative voices on YouTube. In 2019 alone, the consumption of authoritative news publishers’ channels grew by 60%. As our systems appear to have done in the majority of cases in this report, we prioritize authoritative voices for millions of news and information queries, and surface information panels on topics prone to misinformation — including climate change — to provide users with context alongside their content. We continue to expand these efforts to more topics and countries.”

Lipton, one of the world’s leading tea brands owned by Unilever, recently unveiled its new TVC. The brand is moving to a platform of enabling connection moments with our loved ones.
The insight behind the campaign is something everyone in today’s world can relate to. In the busyness of life, we tend to get so involved in the things we have to do, we don’t prioritize taking out time to make a connection with the ones who matter the most.
The message was brought to life through Lipton’s new TVC, which shows a father unconsciously slipping into work mode, ignoring playtime with his daughter.
A sip of Lipton brings him back into the moment, and he actively prioritizes his daughter over his other tasks. The message is simple: “Jaagein un ke liye jo waqai ahem hain” (Be awake to those who really matter).
The new TVC campaign has been launched nationwide and has stirred up a lot of conversation about the importance of taking out time for human connection in today’s fast-paced life.

China is dealing with an infection outbreak as they prepare for holidays for the Lunar New Year.
The new virus is spreading rapidly as the number of people affected has tripled over the weekend, reports CNN. Over 200 cases have been reported of the infection in the Wuhan region while others were reported from Shanghai, Beijing, and Shenzhen.
The National Institute of Health (NIH) issued an advisory to health staff at border posts and health care institutions asking them to take precautions against this deadly virus which has caused massive panic in China.
Given that there are a large number of flights operating to and from China, each passenger will go through a process of screening.
It instructed officials to probe anyone who may have had “direct contact with infected animals, seafood, meat or any other animal products in the markets of Wuhan City China, within 14 days before the onset of illness”.
NIH said that the health facilities should follow the same precautions that doctors follow during “seasonal influenza” if they come across such a case. The NIH asked hospitals to “ensure that standard precautions including hand and respiratory hygiene are being followed by using personal protective equipment”.
On the other hand, the World Health Organization has advised people to avoid contact with animals. If in case, you do, make sure it is protected. Scientists believe that the primary source of the outbreak is animals. However, some human to human transmission has also taken place.
Coronavirus Symptoms
Anyone with fever, cough, and breathing difficulties requires a medical checkup as the symptoms indicate that this might be the newest infection.
What you should do to avoid the infection?
Wash your hands thoroughly with soap and warm water or with an alcohol-based hand sanitizer.
Keep your hands and fingers away from your eyes, nose, and mouth.
Avoid contact with people who seem to show symptoms of respiratory illness.
Eat well-cooked meat. Wash it thoroughly to make sure you’re safe.
Eggs might as well also contain the bacteria. Be sure to cook them well too.
The virus has caused casualties too so it is advised to wear face masks and take other precautionary measures.
Coronavirus Treatment
There are no vaccines or antiviral drugs that are approved for prevention or treatment. However, you should treat it as cold by getting plenty of rest, have lots of fluids, and take over-the-counter meds for fever and soar throat.
Experts say that the outbreak has brought back memories of the Sars virus from the early 2000s that spread across Asia.

We reached out to Wajahut Rauf, the director of the film regarding the news and he said, “The confirmation will come after 2 days”, “Nothing is confirmed as yet.”
This is the first time Shehryar and Hania will be paired on-screen and we have yet to find if the duo will work its magic together or not.
There aren’t many films we know of that are going to release this year. The Pakistani Film Industry has already plummeted into the dark with dramas releasing in the cinemas and not films.
“Zindagi Tamasha” by Sarmad Khoosat was all set to release at the beginning of the year but now we are unsure of that too now.
According to a source, Wajahat Rauf’s newest venture does not have a name yet but it has been said it is for sure a romantic comedy but with a twist. Wajahat is planning to address taboo subjects in his next.
The film is written by Mohsin Ali, who is also best known for writing Wrong No.
The film will be produced under the banner of Showcase Productions with Zayed Sheikh, who co-produced and acted in Chuppan Chuppai.
This is a developing story.

Legendary actor, Naseeruddin Shah has expressed his concern over the current situation in India regarding the newest passed law.
The 69-year-old Bollywood actor said he can no longer live in India as a Muslim.
This is the first time the actor is speaking up against the controversial citizenship lawcreated in December 2019.
He and his family think that it is difficult for them to stay in India and also be a Muslim at the same time.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=yhoDnR-4f6U
In his defence, he said he has been living here as a Muslim for 70 years and has also been working for the industry for as long as he has.
He asked in disappointment if that is not enough proof of his Indianness than what should he do?
He fears his Muslim identity is in danger.
In regard to the controversial citizenship law, Naseeruddin Shah thinks it was sad that none of the most influential Bollywood actors and personalities spoke up against it or used their reach to spread the message of peace across.
He thinks the silence speaks for itself and that’s what has been worrying him the most.
A Citizenship Act was passed in December 2019 in India under which “citizens of six religions, Hindus, Sikhs, Christians, Buddhists, Jains and Persians who came to India by December 31, 2014, from Pakistan, Afghanistan, and Bangladesh will be granted citizenship.
Under the aforementioned law, Muslimscoming from all three countries will not be granted citizenship.”
