Khushhali Microfinance Bank Limited Launches Internet Banking for Faster Banking Experience

Khushhali Microfinance Bank Limited (KMBL) enters the digital world in 2020 with the launch of its Internet Banking website.

Customers will now be able to conduct financial and non-financial transactions on the go as per banking industry practices.

Khushhali’s Internet Banking website will now allow customers to access services like secure intrabank funds transfer, hassle-free bill payment (utility bills, mobile bills, insurance payments, top-ups, etc.), interbank funds transfer, mini statements, balance inquiry, and many other non-financial services from any place they like at any time of the day.

The internet banking site can be accessed on https://login.khushhalibank.com.pk where users can avail of the new digital banking experience from the comfort of their homes.

The online service will also empower micro-entrepreneurs by providing them greater control and transparency over their daily financial transactions.

Users will no longer have to interrupt their schedules to visit the KMBL branch or stand in queues to avail of any services.

The transition to digital banking is crucial in today’s age as it bridges the financial inclusion gap in rural and developing areas. In the South Asian region, the benefits of online banking have been especially exemplary in the last few years, as banking through internet/digital devices has connected an entire segment of the unbanked population by bypassing the obstacles of traditional banking.

According to the McKinsey Report, Singapore is leading the race with 94% accessing their accounts over the Internet while digital banking penetration in Indonesia and Vietnam reached about 40%. With Pakistan also being significantly under-banked, KMBL is aiming to encourage greater engagement with technology through its online banking.

President KMBL, Ghalib Nishtar rejoiced at the launch of online banking, “KMBL is committed to providing its customers a smooth user experience while also imparting financial literacy skills to help improve lives. The internet banking is a step in that direction as it will also encourage micro-entrepreneurs to become more digitally-literate by using the latest technologies”.

Ali Zafar Drops his PSL 2020 Song ‘Mela Loot Liya’ but Twitter is not Impressed [Watch Video]

Mela Loot Liya

Ali Zafar released his latest song ‘Mela Loot Liya’ after millions of requests were made by his fans to come up with a song for the fifth edition of the Pakistan Super League (PSL).

The cricket-crazy fans did not seem to like the official anthem, ‘Tayar Hain’ written by Zulfiqar Jabbar Khan (Xulfi), and sung by Ali Azmat, Haroon, Asim Azhar, and Arif Lohar.

Zafar asked his fans on social media to become a part of the video and showcase their talent as he plans to feature the best entries in his upcoming music video.

Within a week’s time, Zafar released his music video and twitter is not impressed.

Watch Video Here:

Ali Zafar was not hired by the cricket league after the harassment case was filed against him by musician Meesha Shafi previously.

Many suspected that Zafar’s team lead a campaign to promote the upcoming song that was heavily funded by him.

The entry by LGS seemed to be perfectly choreographed, rehearsed, shot on a drone by a videographer.

Others believed that it was mediocre given that Ali has produced better songs earlier such as “Ab Khel Jamay Ga”.

Sunehri Masjid In Peshawar Re-Opens Doors For Women After 25 Years

Source: Far East Broadcasting Company

Yes, bad days are gone now and with the improved law and order situation in the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa province, the authorities have announced to reopen the historic Sunheri Masjid (Golden Mosque) for women so they can offer their congregation prayers.

Moreover, for women to get a clear go-ahead, the authorities have also put up a banner outside the mosque which reads, “that women are now welcomed to offer Friday prayer at Sunheri Masjid”.

Source: Five Prime

What led to its closure?

More than two decades ago, terrorist attacks were on the rise and dozens of attacks took place near the mosque which led to the authorities closing it down for women.

Back in 2016, 16 people were killed and dozens wounded when a powerful bomb went off as the bus carrying mostly government employees past by the mosque in the crowded marketplace of Saddar.

The move is being extremely praised a step to discourage the patriarchal nature of spaces like mosques and ”hujras” (a room where guests are entertained in Pashtun areas of Pakistan) from where women are excluded.

Here’s what Twitter users have to say about the reopening of this mosque for women!

Coronavirus Outbreak: Thermal Scanners Installed By CAA At Islamabad Airport

Shortly after the initial two cases of coronavirus reported in the country, State Minister for Health Dr. Zafar Mirza has ensured that the contagious infection will not take a form of outburst in Pakistan.

Authorities have already taken all the measures required to regulate the spread of highly contagious disease, Dr. Mirza added. “There is no need to create panic. We need to take precautions and fulfill our responsibilities to stop the spread of novel virus.”

Following the case of the virus, thermal scanners have been operationalized at Islamabad, Peshawar, Lahore and Karachi airports and are being installed at all points of entries to Pakistan.

Compared to a thermal gun, the automatic scanner can filter passengers in lesser duration of time.

Source/ ARY News

The scanner can detect indications of flu and fever with more precision. Recently, passengers were being scanned manually using thermal guns which consumed more time.

Some of the signs of the coronavirus are identical to those of the flu, such as coughing and fever. Breathing problems and in some drastic cases organ failure have also been reported.

Preventive measures encompass washing hands with soap and water daily, covering the mouth and nose when coughing and sneezing, fully cooking meat and eggs and avoiding crowded areas and contact with those exhibiting signs of the ailment.

In Punjab, the director-general of health services has supervised the administrations to call upon Chinese settlements and camps to screen them for indications of the recent infection.

Around 2,800 people have succumbed to the virus around the world, with most fatalities in China, the virus’ hub.

Is Sportage Getting Competition? Toyota CSUV is on its way!

Toyota Prius Interior

The SUV market is going to become very interesting this year as we have information that Toyota is launching its first Hybrid SUV in Pakistan which will be giving competition to Kia Sportage and, in the future, to Hyundai Tucson. Currently, this product is unavailable in the world. The best part? It is being launched in Pakistan this year along with being launched globally!

Where Kia Sportage and Hyundai Tuscon have a 2.0L engine, this new Hybrid SUV will have a 1.8L engine as confirmed by our source, however, since it is a Hybrid model, it will give an output of a 2.4L Capacity engine. Not only this, but the vehicle is a complete Hybrid and will also be able to run on Electric Vehicle (EV) mode. Since the new Toyota SUV is a Hybrid vehicle, it will be environmentally friendly and will benefit the consumer in terms of fuel consumption.

To explore the importance of a Hybrid vehicle, we did a comparison between a 1.8L Civic/ Grande and a 1.8L Prius. The results were surprising! By using a Hybrid vehicle, a lot of fuel can be saved and, around a total of Rupees 500,000! This means that the new Toyota CSUV will also be saving, on average, the same amount in comparison to Sportage and Tuscon. For your understanding, refer to the table below;

Prius
Civic

 Grande/Civic  Prius
1.8L Petrol Engine  1.8L Hybrid Engine
Daily KM drive 50 KMs 50 KMs
Monthly Mileage 1,500 KMs 1,500 KMs
Average mileage 11 KM/Ltr 22 KM/Ltr
Average consumption per month 136 Liters 68 Liters
Fuel Cost Rs 117 Rs 117
Total monthly consumption Rs 15,955 Rs 7,977
Yearly Cost(12 months) 191,455/- 95,727/-
Model Life Cost (5 years Life cycle) 957,273/- 478,636/-

According to our source, in the start, this vehicle will be imported as a Completely Built Unit, (CBU) however, depending on its success, there is a strong chance that it will be locally assembled. This seems to be very promising as it will bring along in Pakistan not just a vehicle but also the technology and training to go with it.

The number of vehicles introduced in the market this year has been amazing! With the expected launch of Hyundai Tucson, the competition in SUV’s is going to increase dramatically this year. However, the new Toyota SUV, in particular, seems to be a strong contender in the SUV market.

We are really excited about the SUV market this year. We think there will be a very healthy competition between Toyota’s new Hybrid SUV, Kia Sportage, Hyundai Tucson, and Proton X70. What are your thoughts? Let us know in the comments.

Proton Saga To Get New 1299cc Engine In Pakistan

Al-Haj Automotive who is geared up to team up with Malaysian automaker Proton is currently in the process of introducing a range of vehicles in Pakistan.

According to sources, the company will commence its operations with the blastoff of 1.3 liter Saga sedan followed by the introduction of X70 SUV.

Furthermore, the Saga sedan for Pakistan will consist of a downsized engine precisely to secure tax benefits. Initially, the Proton Saga comes eligible with a 1332cc DOHC VVT engine that generates 94hp of power and 120Nm of torque, although, the ones particularly made for Pakistan will bring a 1299cc engine under the hood.

This is due to the tax structure of cars which are of 1300cc and more is different and remaining below 1300 would assist the company in maintaining costs will similarly help them to progress consumer interest due to a lower tax bracket.

Moreover, the Saga will be originally imported as CBU whereas the locally assembled units will plausibly roll off the line from 2021 in Proton’s assembly plant that is being established in Karachi.

With a preliminary investment of US$30 million and an aimed number of 25,000 units a year, the plant would also develop around 2,000 direct jobs and 20,000 indirect jobs through other areas such as local vendors.

Besides, the Saga, which will be the latest facelift model that has seen enormous success in Malaysia, will have Hyundai-sourced 4-speed automatic transmission alongside the regular 5-speed manual.

Although the gearbox is sourced from Hyundai, the programming and testing are rumored to be done by Proton’s own engineering team. Bear in mind the pre-facelift models that were seen testing in our country earlier had a CVT.

Like Saga, the X70 SUV is also going to be tailored precisely to suit the Pakistani market. As mentioned earlier, the Proton X70 for Pakistani market will earn a 1.5-liter turbocharged engine rather than the originally deployed 1.8-liter turbo engine.

This proves that Proton is taking the Pakistani market pretty seriously and instead of simply initiating ready-made products, the firm is working on approximate to market dynamics and consumer inclinations and is customizing its product range to help vie against the existing rivalry.

Improvement of the new 1299cc engine is expected to finalize by May 2020 after which it will be prepared for mass production, whereas the formal launch of both Saga sedan and X70 SUV in Pakistan is anticipated towards the second half of this year.

“Apple Won’t let Bad Guys use iPhones in Movies,” -‘Knives Out’ Director Rian Johnson

Apple iPhone

Wondering how to spot a bad guy in a movie? Well, we have a simple trick. The villain is the one without an iPhone!

According to Knives Out director Rian Johnson, Apple has said there will be no iPhones for bad guys.

“I don’t know if I should say this or not,” Johnson said in a Vanity Fair video posted Tuesday where he breaks down a scene from his hit murder mystery. “Not ’cause it’s lascivious or something. But because it’s gonna screw me on the next mystery movie that I write. But forget it, I’ll say it, it’s very interesting.”

“Apple, they let you use iPhones in movies, but, and this is very pivotal, if you’re ever watching a mystery movie, bad guys cannot have iPhones on camera,” he said. “Every single filmmaker who has a bad guy in their movie that’s supposed to be a secret wants to murder me right now.”

Whereas, it also makes sense why a tech-titan like Apple would not want bad guys to use its products and attract negativity. After all, no one wants their reputation to be trashed.

On the other hand, Apple did not immediately respond to CNBC’s request for comment.

Reportedly, Johnson pointed out the Apple caveat while dissecting a tense scene between all of the Thrombey family members ahead of the reading of the late Harlan Thrombey’s will.

A cellphone then becomes a spoiler. During the scene, Jamie Lee Curtis’ character Linda Drysdale can be seen with an iPhone, prompting Johnson to reveal the behind-the-scenes secret.

When rewatching the film, you can see several other characters who are suspects carry or use iPhones. However, the ultimate bad guy in the film, Ransom, played by Chris Evans, does not have an iPhone in the film.
