When it comes to the TV or entertainment industry in general, there is only so much variety. Either you will find dramas and cooking shows, or you will find news and political shows. Very rarely would you come across entertainment talk shows, though. However, now they have greatly increased in frequency. So the entertainment talk shows you need to be watching currently are:

1. Ghabrana Mana Hai

With Vasay Chaudhary hosting this show, Ghabarana Mana Hai has only recently started, with only Mahira Khan, Humayun Saeed, and Yasir Hussain having been invited. And with only two episodes down, this show has already created controversies all over the industry. Moreover, the segment that makes this show even more impressive is Sohaye Ali Abro and Mustafa Chaudhary’s short but amazing performance.

2. Time Out

Time Out is hosted by Ahsan Khan, who brings energy into a show, and that’s not ununderstandable considering we know how absolutely talented the Udari actor is.

3. The Couple Show

While other talk shows are amazing in their own capacity, the idea of the couple show is interesting in Pakistan. The idea is that a new couple that people have come to adore, Agha Ali and Hina Agha, would host a show where they would be inviting couples. And when couples get together, either they have fun, or they let on some inside info. So for the viewers, it’s guaranteed fun.

4. Hello Mira Sethi

This talk show is my personal favorite, with Mira keeping the conversation soft but exploring some very important topics. She is able to make people talk about serious issues and extract what they truly believe about them. The best one was her interview with Sarwat Gilani. Sarwat kept continuously dissociating herself from being a feminist. So, Mira, she asked Sarwat’s views on another question and was able to decipher how the latter really is a feminist.

5. TBH By Tabish Hashmi

The first season being an absolute hit, Tabish is back with season two of the show. Being good at comedy himself, he is able to make any guest comfortable in his her skin and then approaches the conversation in a way that even someone as sophisticated as Nadia Khan is able to let go a little.

6. By The Way 

Hosted by Ali Saleem, or rather his alter ego, Begum Nawazish Ali, By The Way, is a show that iss very serious but just the host’s presence lightens the mood.

Being an active follower of all these shows, I can totally say that these shows are definitely worth watching.

With the updated Whatsapp Privacy Policy now effective and in place, many users have shifted to Telegram, which they consider safer. To maintain this newfound consumer base, Telegram has been adding numerous features to its application. Among these features is one where the users can modify font size in the app. So the font size does not need to change for the entire phone anymore.

The best part is that while most new features for numerous apps are given to only android users, this one is for iOS users. They have to make it through the sync option in settings. The app took it to Twitter, saying:

[Update]: One of the most adored couples of the Pakistani entertainment industry, Farhan Saeed and Urwa Hocane have allegedly separated some time ago. The two artists have given no statement regarding that and the news just took a backseat.

They did not appear together ever since in public. But they finally made an appearance at their friends, Qasim Ali Mureed and Sadia Jabbar’s Mehendi function. The Driver:

Recently, an interesting piece of news went quite viral. It was similar to one of those videos where people perform stunts. However, here the stunt seems to be one out of a million ones to do. We have seen people hanging from cars and doing wheelies with them. They have also been seen standing on bikes. So, what is this Mardan driver getting the fame for?

You must have guessed the answer by now. It might have been guessed when you read the title. That is exactly what the Driver was doing in the video shown below. He is a driver from the region of Mardan. The Driver seems to be doing push-ups on top of the moving car! Push-ups on a car, with the driver door open!

The video went so viral, people began to make memes and further jokes out of it. Others criticized the driver for pulling such a dangerous stunt. It had no special purpose behind it so people spoke up. However, on the other side, people also started to cheer on and support the video. It seems there are two sides to this coin.

However, we have even more news on the driver. The person doing the stunt is reportedly someone called Ladoo Khan. In recent news, it seems that the police have arrested the person. In the picture below, we can see the person posing in handcuffs as the police booked him.

Whenever we do any kind of work, it requires people to complete it. Until and unless one is making use of automation within industries and work, a labour force is a must. You cannot hope to complete a project without there being the presence of manpower.

Yasir Hussain & Nausheen Shah Controversy Sets Internet On Fire

Some shows have recently started, and they are making quite some noise. ‘Ghabarana Mana Hai’ is the show we are going to be talking about this evening. With huge personalities like Mahira Khan and Humayun Saeed having already graced the set of the show, this time around, Vasay Chaudhry invited Yasir Hussain.

Yasir is known not to shy away from making controversial remarks. So it was understood that this show would discuss all the past controversies. Instead, it became the talk of the town for sparking a new controversy.

Vasay asked Yasir about his wedding and if the turnout to the wedding was higher than the invited. The answer was affirmative. Upon inquiring, Yasir said Nausheen Shah was among the uninvited guests. He tried to soften the blow by saying Nousheen is an amazing girl, and he loves her style.

But the cat was out of the bag!

And Vasay, wanting more controversy, decided to keep bringing the topic back into the conversation. And so Yasir stated that she was uninvited and yet kept hogging the photoshoot. He also said that she would now become famous courtesy of what happened in the show.

McDonald’s and Burger King have kicked off the new year with new looks, and we love it! An early survey has also shown Burger King’s fresh packaging design has edged out an overhaul with their consumers.

People Are Preferring Burger King More

Fifty-four percent of respondents have, in fact, said that they preferred Burger King’s packaging. Only 46% chose McDonald’s in the same survey which was conducted this month. Moreover, 56% of consumers have noted that Burger King’s new look made the food look more appetizing. On the other hand, 44% of McDonald’s packaging made for a more appetizing meal.

What Does This Say?

This, in fact, shows that the packaging has a huge impact on the sales of the product itself. In the 21st century, many brands have started heavily investing in the packaging department because that creates more than half the appeal.

The CEO of the Harris Poll spoke about the effect of packaging on the fast-food company. He notes, “Fast food companies like McDonald’s and Burger King understand that the look and feel of a product. The packaging shapes how consumers think about their brand and ultimately influences what their customers choose to buy”.

Those consumers who opted for the Burger King packaging also shared why they opted for it. They mentioned that the packaging evoked nostalgia and retro vibes, which is what appealed to them more.

Burger King released its design first in January, which will eventually be splashed across everything from packaging to signage and uniforms. The look from Jones Knowles Ritchie plays on a design used by the Whopper’s Home in 1969, interestingly. “It modernized the brand but also made the brand even more classic,” Restaurant Brands International Global Chief Marketing Officer Fernando Machado has told Ad Age.

McDonald’s packaging overhaul was also unveiled this month was in the works for years and came from Pearlfisher. It was described by Barbara Yehling, McDonald’s senior director of global menu strategy, as “bright, beautiful and modern new designs.”

Russia Confirms First Case Of Human Infection With Bird Flu

Russia has confirmed the first case of an unprecedented virus, and it’s concerning.

Avian Influenza

The very first case of human infection with the avian influenza A(H5N8) virus in the world has been confirmed in Russia. A Russian sanitary official announced this on Saturday, which has left several healthcare experts reeling from the news.

What Is Avian Influenza?

Avian influenza basically refers to the disease caused by infection with avian (bird) influenza (flu) Type A viruses. These viruses are a natural occurrence amongst aquatic birds worldwide. This virus can also infect domestic poultry and other bird and animal species.

However, until now, Avian flu viruses had not infected humans. This is a news-breaking story because now it has infected a human.

Where Has It Stemmed From?

Scientists in Russia have isolated this bird flu virus’s genetic material in seven workers of a poultry farm in south Russia. This poultry farm is being sourced as the Avian Influenza place where an outbreak among fowls was reported in December. Anna Popova, head of the country’s consumer rights and human well-being watchdog Rospotrebnadzor, the Xinhua news agency, reported this news tracing it back to the December incident.

Popova has said that all the necessary measures were taken immediately to protect humans and animals alike. It is also being informed to the news agencies that the infection has not been spread further and has been contained at the poultry farm.

How Has It Progressed?

All of the seven people who were infected have been reported to be in good spirits and health. They are reported to have only mild clinical symptoms, as is being reported by Popova. It is also a concern still about how this disease can be passed between people.

Since 7 people at the same farm shared it, it is still unclear whether the infection was caught by contagion or through contact. It is also being determined how and why the virus has found a way to infect humans now.

Sony’s First One-Inch Phone-Oriented Camera Sensor

As per reports by Gizmochina, which is the biggest platform to report technological and innovative reports from China, Sony’s plans to release the one-inch, phone oriented camera sensor called the IMX800 in the month of April. The following leak was tipped off by a leaker named Rodent950 who has a good track-record in the past in terms of reporting leaks.

Even though not much has been leaked however there is a huge chance of this sensor being incorporated into the Huawei P50 Series. It is expected that this specific sensor manufactured by Sony would be supplemented with the current technology of the Huawei smartphones’ camera and is expected to be incorporated into its high-end phones.

What Will This Camera Sensor Designed And Manufactured By Sony Will Do?

Almost nothing other than the size of the camera sensor has been revealed yet to the public so far it would be too early to determine what change this camera sensor would bring, however, it is expected that the color and the background blur would improve drastically. However, the specifications, pros and cons can only be determined once we get these sensors incorporated into a phone.

A camera sensor that is one inch in size is too big even for modern phones which have a relatively large space for multiple lenses of their cameras and it is being suggested that it might influence the placement of the secondary camera. If these rumors are true, it would be exciting to see how the future smartphones would look like. Moreover, what difference is Sony able to bring into the quality of the pictures and videos considering that the Japanese multinational company is credited for being one of the biggest camera, audio/visual technology companies in the world. Some sources say that Huawei’s P50 Pro would be one of the first phones to have this particular sensor. Sony and Huawei are yet to confirm or deny any of these rumors.

Dubai Islamic Bank Becomes The 10th Bank To Join The State Bank Of Pakistan’s Roshan Digital Account Initiative

KARACHI: 24th February, 2021 –Dubai Islamic Bank – the World’s First Islamic bank – today joined the Roshan Digital Account (RDA) initiative of the State Bank of Pakistan (SBP) in a ceremony with Governor SBP, Dr. Reza Baqir, as the Chief Guest. Headquartered in Dubai, Dubai Islamic Bank (DIB) has the distinction of being the largest Islamic bank in the UAE market and the second largest in the world by assets, which reflects its global strength. DIB has a global presence across seven countries (UAE, Pakistan, Kenya, Indonesia, Turkey, Sudan & Bosnia).

Roshan Digital Account has shown impressive results in the short period of five months since it was launched to digitally connect Overseas Pakistanis with Pakistan’s banking and payments system. Over $550 million in remittances has already been generated and over 90,000 accounts opened, and the momentum has been rising in the last few months.

Addressing the ceremony through video, Governor SBP Dr. Reza Baqir congratulated the management of DIB for becoming the 10th bank to partner with the SBP in offering RDA for the Pakistani diaspora. He lauded the many contributions of Non-Resident Pakistanis (NRP) for the country and added that the RDA is a manifestation of the vision of Prime Minister Imran Khan to make the Pakistani diaspora an integral part of Pakistan’s economy by connecting them to the country’s financial system.

He highlighted three key recent refinements to RDA that have been made in light of feedback received from NRPs. These include: (1) introducing Naya Pakistan Certificates (NPCs) in Euro and British Pound, in addition to the existing Pakistani rupee and US-dollar denominated certificates; (2) changes by federal government in relevant laws allowing the tax paid at source on profits on investments in NPCs, shares, mutual funds, and property to be full and final; and (3) substantially reducing the cost of transferring funds internationally to and from RDA accounts from $40-60 to $5-9 for most transactions.

Towards the end of his address, Dr. Baqir expressed his hope that DIB would help RDA achieve even bigger milestones in the future and that its contribution would be even larger than the banks that joined the initiative earlier.

In his address, Deputy Governor SBP Dr. Murtaza Syed appreciated the efforts put in by DIB for successfully joining RDA. Dr. Syed threw light on the salient features of RDA, explaining that it provides digital access to all conventional banking services including funds transfer, bills and fee payments, and e-commerce as well as attractive investment opportunities in the stock market, property and government bonds.

He said that RDA enables investment by Non-resident Pakistanis in NPCs issued by the Government of Pakistan at very attractive risk-free rates and in both conventional and Shariah-compliant forms. Moreover, funds available in the account can be remitted back from Pakistan without any approval from banks or SBP. Elaborating on the RDA journey, the Deputy Governor emphasized that a key ingredient of success has been to ensure that customer’s experience is par excellence.

He expressed the hope that DIB would ensure a class-experience for its customers from the very beginning, and inject even greater momentum into the RDA initiative by capitalizing on its key advantages in the UAE market and within the Islamic Banking industry.

Speaking on the occasion Mr. Junaid Ahmed CEO, Dubai Islamic Bank stated: ‘Dubai Islamic Bank – World’s First Islamic Bank and a global franchise is operating in Pakistan since 2006 with presence across seven countries will soon become a major player for RDA.  Our existing customer base of over 200,000 in UAE gives us an all-important advantage to capture the potential for Roshan Digital Accounts. AirBlue’s Gender-Biased Ad Is Making People Furious

There are many jobs that you can apply for when it comes to an airline. But the top jobs that come to your mind are the job of a pilot and that of the cabin crew because these are who you see the most when you board a plane. That said, who do you visualize when you think of these jobs? Most of you must have pictured a male pilot speaking as the plane takes off and the female staff that serves you with airline food. This age-old stereotype is still being reinforced by famous airlines like Airblue.

Airblue Ad For Pilots

In the ad seeking captains and first officers to fly the plane, Airblue mentions explicitly in this print ad that they seek male candidates for the jobs. It is understandable that decades ago, flying planes was considered a man’s career, so that they would release such ads. But we have come way ahead when it comes to gender discrimination and bias. So if they are continuing with these policies in 2021, this shows how backward we really are.

Netizens angry

Twitterati obviously was horrified. They highlighted how Pakistan has in its constitution that there should not be gender discrimination for any job, so in that regard, Airblue was defying the Pakistani constitution. They went as far as saying that females should boycott the airline on the bias against gender.

Some even said that this could be the difference between the private and public sectors where the former can do whatever they wish as they have no much check and balance.

Female Cabin Crew

The fact that this airline is gender-biased has another evidence. In their recent hiring cabin crew, they specifically mention they are looking for females only. For people who have traveled with international airlines, they would have seen that men can also play this part.

The point is not whether the job advertisement releases a lesser gender-biased ad. The fact is that the mindsets need to change because even if they invite candidates for interviews from all genders, they may still select only males for pilots and females for cabin crew.
